O`ris was standing by his dragon on the ledge, looking out across the weyrbowl and at Avalle`s weyr. Since the Hatching, he had not been by to see her. He had been too caught up in working on Weyrling lessons and gathering notes from W`al and F`del. The fact that he had been promoted to WeyrlingMaster had left him nervous and slightly sick in the stomach (mostly from being nervous). He was worried that he would not do a good job with the Weyrlings. After all, he was promoted to WeyrlingMaster to the largest Weyrling class yet at Dalibor! They were also very crazy and different! He worried constantly about how the dragons and young Riders would treat him considering he was a CyanRider.
We will just remind them who is in charge and that we can call for the leaders at any time should they start misbehaving badly. Besides, they need us, O`ris. There are two new colors in this group. I think it is good that we are their WeyrlingMasters. As a Cyan dragon, once a new color in itself, we can understand the needs of this class after experiencing it firsthand. I am thoroughly intrigued by this class and I wonder how they will develop over Turns, Rhyolith pointed out, trying to help ease her Mine while also taking on her position with full responsibility. She rumbled lightly in her throat, ruffled her wings on her back, and twitched her tail. She was getting antsy about this first lesson and wanted to meet her first class. She was not going to back down just because there was a Queen. That Gold was going to learn some manners if she was going to assume her rightful duties.
“Okay. I think it is time to get started,” he said, grabbing Rhyolith`s harness off the wall and putting it on her back. Checking over her straps, he also checked over Rhyolith`s body to make sure that she was healthy for the lesson. He wanted others to see an idea of the ideal dragon on Pern even though she was a Cyan. But she was large for a Cyan. She was the largest Cyan on Pern. And she prided herself in that because she was also the first Cyan to Hatch on Pern. After checking her over, O`ris climbed up on her back and allowed the Cyan to glide down to the Weyrling Barracks. Lira had been sleeping around O`ris`s neck and had woken up from the glide down to the Brracks. She chirped lightly, wondering what was going on. What was that smell? It was oddly familiar to her, yet she could not place it.
O`ris looked around and saw the buckets of meat that had been put out earlier that morning with the knives for the Weyrlings to feed their dragons. Now that everything was in place, he gave Rhyolith the signal to wake the Weyrlings up. She did so with much gladness. They would be up and out on time. She was not going to put up with tardiness on the first lesson. Weyrlings! Wake up! Your first lesson begins now. If you are not out here in ten minutes, I will send a crazy Fire Lizard in to wake you up! Rhyolith threatened, not afraid to send Lira in despite the Green`s dislike against anything Green. It was yet to be seen if she disliked Viridians as well.
Once the Weyrlings had made it out of the Barracks, Lira tightened her grip around O`ris` neck. She hissed at the sight of the Green dragons. And she also hissed at the Viridians! There was a new hate within the little Green Fire Lizard. Viridians may be males, but they were GREEN too! O`ris glared down at Lira and made the Fire Lizard hush. She hunkered low against O`ris`s neck, her eyes an angry red color. She would put up with these nasty Green things for now for the sake of her Mine because he was HERS! O`ris sighed as he cleared his throat, looking at the Weyrlings. Most of these dragons would become larger than Rhyolith eventually in their lives. But he was not worried. His time with O`sho as Wingsecond had helped prepare him for this moment.
“Congratulations on your Impressions the other day, class. Your class has been now been dubbed the Windweavers. For the next Turn and a half, I will be your WeyrlingMaster. My name is O`ris, this Green thing around my neck is Lira, and my dragon is Cyan Rhyolith,” he spoke, looking at the few in the front row. Hello, Rhyolith spoke gently in her soft, deep, soothing voice. “Later today you will be given a lesson from the Weyrhealers about the basic dragon anatomy, but the important part that you need to know about is a dragon`s claws. As some of you experienced firsthand on the Sands, dragons have sharp claws. When they get bigger, their teeth will become sharper than their claws. While your dragons are still this size, you will need to watch out for their claws and cut their food up until they can start tearing it themselves.
“Now, behind me,” he said, pointing toward the back, eyeing Couineth and Almuth carefully, “are where the food is. Every day for the next few months, you will have to get up and come out here to cut the meat up into small pieces for your dragon to eat. Do not make the pieces to large that they will choke your dragon. Before we start feeding your dragons, there are a few rules that we need to cover followed by roommate assignments. The first rule is something the everyone tends to know once they become Weyrlings: You are to remain celibate until you graduate. You are also to avoid touching those of the opposite gender for several months. This means no hugging or kissing on the cheeks for a few months. When we get to flying lessons, you may go back to hugging. You are to respect those in charge of you at all times. Those above you are the Weyrleaders, the Wingleaders, the Wingseconds, the Weyrhealers, and myself. Finally, you will attend and listen to all lectures given. Failing to come and not participate in certain activities will result in more chores until you comply.”
He looked over his class, his eyes going from Rayna to F`ix to D`ix to Medusa. “Now for your roommate assignments. The first thirteen rooms are assigned to the ladies, and the last eight rooms will be given to the gentlemen. If you and your roommate are having problems, please call for me and Rhyolith to come help. Rayna and Couineth, Loto and Mabiath, and Samael and Naireth will have the first three rooms to themselves. Catori and Koketeth, your roommate will be Sonia and Aimeth. Room five will be given to Krysthanine, Emith, Xarca, and Vantith. Medusa, Veryerdoth, Kela, Loxith, you four will take room six. Room seven belong to Belphegor, Chistesth, Katheryne ,and Frasketh. Olivia and Enerveth are in room eight with Lesa and Maieouth. Room nine will go to Tasakhori, Pandemoniuth, Rhea, and Remeteth. Room ten will be occupied by Sayami, Eleusyniath, Toniiandra, and Mamosath. Gaige, Faibeth, your roommates will be Rosasharn and Sereinth in room eleven. Room twelve will have Xela, Almuth, Tierler and Klaisath living in them. Myra and Avith, you will have room thirteen to yourselves. Ch`ko and Bronze Paixoth will have room fourteen to their selves. Rooms fifteen, sixteen, and seventeen will be inhabited by F`ix and Viridian Austerath, B`lor and Viridian Neth, and M`tren and Brown Espirith respectively. E`ra and Ocouthw will room with K`coon and Pieteth in room eighteen. I`tier, Verith, N`uel , Ondeth, you are now official roommates in room nineteen. Hat`ter and Chareth, meet R`rasu and Boulimith, who you will be rooming with in room twenty. Finally, N`at and Duermoth will be with D`ix and Ressouth in room twenty-one. Now that has been decided, you may now feed your dragons,” O`ris said, stepping to the side to allow the parade of dragons and Weyrlings pass by to get to the food.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kela looked at Loxith who was standing next to her. The Green`s eyes were starting to become orange with hunger. Already the Green was going on and on about how hungry she was and asking why did they have to stand here and listen to the lesson while there was food waiting for them over there? Kela smiled lightly and let the Green keep asking why could they not have food now? When O`ris was done talking, Loxith squealed happily and made her way over to the food. “Loxi, hold on!” Kela shouted, catching up with the eager Green as they made their way over to their table. She grabbed the knife and began to cut the meat carefully. When she had spotted Medusa, she smiled and waved. “Hello. My name is Kela. You must be Medusa. It is very nice to meet you. This is Loxith,” she said, introducing her Green who was staring impatient at the food in Kela`s hands.
Xela woke up to something chewing contentedly on her toes. In the early-morning mental fog, she momentarily forgot she was now a dragonrider, and it also slipped her mind that her dragon was a habitual gnawer-of-things. Unsurprisingly, she gave a little shriek and jumped violently, rolling off of the narrow cot, convinced that a tunnelsnake or wild wher or something was trying to make her toes its breakfast. A minute later, she was reminded why there was something chewing on her toes when said something hopped off the bed, landed lightly on her chest, and snorted hot air into her face.
"Almuth!" Xela exclaimed in realization. "Don't do that! You about gave me a heart attack!" She shoved the black dragonet off of her and got to her feet, brushing dust off of herself. Almuth just grinned and rolled back on his feet easily. I was hungry. I am hungry,
he offered as a simple explanation. "I fed you last night with as much as I could carry from the feast! How are you still hungry?" Xela pretended to scold the Black. He, typically, didn't reply, and instead settled down and began gnawing on the flimsy leg of the cot. "No, don't...!" Xela began before shrugging her shoulders. "Oh, well, it's not going to be my bed after today, help yourself," she said, grinning a little bit herself now. Xela dressed hurriedly while Almuth was occupying himself, then, all of a sudden, the Black dashed between her legs, nearly knocking her over. "What?!" she said exasperatedly as Almuth tried to shove his way out of the door. Weyrling lesson! There will be food there! Almuth said brightly. Xela opened the door and the Black, followed closely by His, scampered to where Rhyolith was. He wasted no time in skittering right past the Cyan that was their Weyrlingmaster and nearly throwing himself into the pile of food. Xela ignored him and sat down where, presumably, the dragonets and their new 'riders were supposed to gather. They were the first ones there. As everyone slowly trickled in, Almuth had grabbed himself a chunk of meat bigger than his head and dragged it back to Xela's feet. He dropped it and promptly began the arduous process of eating it, as it definitely hadn't been torn into bite-sized pieces like it was supposed to be for dragons so young. Neither Almuth nor Xela seemed unduly bothered by that fact. So, Xela sat, waiting for the lesson to start, Almuth gnawing on the hunk of meat like a big dog sitting at her feet chewing a bone. O'ris began to speak. It was a typical speech, nothing particularly awesome or awful about it. He mentioned the need to shred the food for the dragonets, and Xela looked down pointedly at Almuth. He returned the look, eyes gleaming mischievously. {I think you're managing just fine,} Xela declared. Indeed, Almuth had made pretty good progress on the hunk of meat. It was now merely the size of his head. O'ris laid out some ground rules, and, immediately, Xela couldn't resist causing a little bit of trouble. She had to test the waters with this guy, after all, see how much she could get away with! After O'ris read their roommates (she was with Tieler. Awesome. She wondered if they'd make it a sevenday without killing each other), and dismissed them, she raised her hand and called out, loud enough for everyone to hear, even those that had already started feeding their dragons. "Sir?" she said innocently, beaming at O'ris. "I have a question. If we're gay, do we still have to avoid the opposite sex? Does this mean I can't hug my dad?" She said this with utter sincerity, like she was genuinely concerned on the subject.
Myra yawned, rubbing sleep from her eyes. It had been an eventful few days, especially since she'd Impressed. Everyone had been wondering when the weyrling lessons would begin, but for now she was enjoying her time spent with Avith. The cyan was currently, awake, watching from her post outside of Myra's room. She'd gotten plenty of sleep, and since Hers was so tired, she'd decided to keep watch. Although Hers was supposed to be packing her things together in order to move rooms...
Avith's thoughts were interrupted by Rhyolith's voice ringing in her head. Lessons had started! Immediately she poked her head into the room, ready to wake Myra with soft crooning. But the girl was already wide awake, throwing her bags on her shoulders. "C'mon Avith! We've gotta hurry!" she yelped, racing toward the mental voice with Avith on her heels.
Once at the designated spot, Myra dropped her bags, heaving for air. She had run the entire way, as to not be late. She really did respect those ranked higher than her, and those who were older than her. Also, she was excited that their teacher was a cyan rider. Another cyan! It was so amazing, the bond she felt with those of the same dragon color as Hers. Avith was fond of O'ris as well, and she bowed once they entered the area.
After hearing O'ris speak of the rules on how weyrlings were to behave themselves, Myra was a tad upset. She couldn't hang out with N'at anymore? But he was so...well, he was her best friend. Oh well. They could probably still hang out...and if anything happened...well, no one would have to know. Avith rumbled in Hers' direction, noting the rebel-like tendencies in her mind. Don't even start thinking like that, Mine! We've got to obey the rules set out by the WeyrlingMaster. Although Avith was right, Myra decided that, when the time came, she could probably persuade the cyan into hanging out with N'at and Duermoth. Besides, Avith would love the company of another cyan!
All thoughts aside, Avith rumbled once O'ris was finished speaking. So, she had a room to herself! That was going to be nice! Mentally she highfived the WeyrlingMaster, thankful for her assignment. Avith was also happy to have a room alone, but her rumbles were directed at the food on the table before them. "Oh! My bad. I let my thoughts get ahead of me." she teased, leading the cyan to the table. "How big should I cut the pieces, Avith? Like this?" she asked, worried that she'd choke the dragonet. But the cyan had more sense than her clutchmates, and once Myra had cut a decent sized piece, Avith swiftly gobbled up said meat and grinned. Mine, you are doing it fine. Don't worry, I'll keep watch over your sizing. Also, we need to keep an eye out for Queenie. Apparently, Avith still hadn't forgotten the way the gold had treated her sisters and brothers during the Hatching. Myra sighed, feeding Avith more hunks of meat. 'Oh calm down. hers will keep her in line, I'm sure.' The cyan only rumbled again in response, nomming on the meat with a satisfied hum.
---
Katheryne sighed as she entered the area for the weyrling lesson. She was nervous, just as she had been at the hatching, but this wasn't as bad. At least she had Frasketh beside her to help her feel better. The pink had been trying to get into trouble ever since she'd been born and it was driving Kat wild. But then again, she wouldn't have had it any other way.
Frasketh followed Hers happily, looking around for her sister. Where was that cyan?! They hadn't seen each other for days now! And she was really starting to miss her sister. The pink's mind was distracted, though, as she smelled the meat in the air. Oh, so tasty! Immediately she reached for the stuff, but Kat held her back. 'Not until we listen to the WeyrlingMaster!' she hissed, and Frasketh nodded in agreement. Okay, Mine. But after he talks, can we eat and then find Maeiouth? I want to play with her!
Oh, that pink. Kat smiled softly, patting Frasketh's head happily. 'Yes, we'll find your sister and you can play after you eat. I promise!' With that, Kat turned her attention back to O'ris, listening intently. There were many rules she needed to learn in order to stay a good little weyrling, and she would try her best to keep Frasketh in mind. The dragonet had a nose for trouble...and that definitely wasn't good for her. But, she could do it. And Frasketh would hopefully grow out of that stage.
Once O'ris finished speaking, Kat led Frasketh toward the meat. The pink was prancing around happily, looking for Maeiouth with whirling eyes. When she didn't find her sister, her attention went back to Hers, rumbling happily. She's not here that I can see. But anyway, let's eat! Kat nodded in silent agreement, cutting up rather tiny bites for the pink to chew. After that task, the girl searched for the one named Belphe, her supposed new room mate. Would they get along? Was she a nice person, or a bully? Kat really hoped for that first option.
Ch'ko had gotten up a a good, early time that day. He wad of course, aided by Paixioth who had rose promptly at dawn. His eyes swirled gently with hunger. Good morning, Mine he said as he saw His stir shortly after waking up himself, Do you know when we could get food? I am hungry.
Again? Ch'ko teased, sleepily sticking his tongue out at the dragon. The bronze gave him a confused stare, not sure what the motion of sticking one's tongue out meant. Ch'ko laughed for a short while before his thoughts drifted to Polo. The firelizard, in one of his early days, had bit the boy's tongue when the boy had stuck it out at him.
The bronze's eyes swirled, worry mixing in with his hunger. His was sad. His had been sad. But His couldn't be sad! No, His had to be great. They'd be great together, they would! Paixioth gently walked up to Ch'ko and sat his muzzle in the boy's lap, nuzzling him gently. Though almost the same action had made him turn red on the Sands just a day ago, he wasn't afraid to do it to his Mine. Especially in a room by themselves.
Mine, your dreams were troubled last night. Please tell your Paixioth what is wrong.
And the boy was about to tell the dragon his past, a rare frown on his face fr that moment, when the new Weyrlings were called for Lessons. Oh well, the story could come later. Ch'ko and Paixioth both knew that they had a deep love for each other that sadness could not dampen.
And Ch'ko was glad for that. He wouldn't be able to stand a whiny dragon that constantly asked if Ch'ko still loved him or her. Of course he did. He just...didn't always show love too well. But he did love. His bonded beasts at least.
Looks like it's a story for another time, Paix the boy said with a wink, the grin returning quicker than it had left They'll have food! And it looks like we'll be in trouble if we don't hurry. Or...on second thought... His grin grew wider as he thought about his first act of rebellion as a dragonman.
But Paixioth wasn't going to have any of it. He snorted angrily and tenderly grabbed Ch'ko's skinny arm between his teeth. He applied little pressure, so he wouldn't hurt him, and pulled him out of bed.
"Ok, ok, I'm coming! Lemme get dressed!" Ch'ko said, laughing. He hurriedly got dressed, having the bronze watch him as he did. Good thing they had to hurry, or else the bronze migth make him change. He laughed mentally at the thought, however, an audible chuckle managed to escape.
They arrived with some of the earlier new Weyrlings, having the advantage of already being awake at the time they were called. Ch'ko gave an odd salute to the Weyrlingmaster in a greeting and chose a place to sit in the middle. The middle was always good. People could usually see you well in the middle. Paixioth also agreed with this choice, but he wouldn't have minded being in front. But, oh well, he could let some of the smaller dragons up front.After all, he was one of the biggest in both clutches, being the only king dragon hatched. Of course, the Gold was to be bigger. The bronze only seemed to be bigger than most because of his unusually small choice.
It was an odd choice. The pair would probably have to wait to Chase. The first flight of Couineth would occur when Ch'ko was only around 14 or 15. And even though Paixioth wasn't likely to win among the other dragons of more experience, the flight lust might be too much for such a young boy to handle. Besides, who'd wanna chase after that brat anyways?
Ch'ko leaned gently against his dragon as O'ris began to talk. He explained some rules. Blah blah blah, be celibate. Well, duh. Ch'ko didn't really like girls right now. Well, he liked Myra. And Rosasharn. And Xela was alright. But he didn't like any of them like that. He may hug them, but never kissing. That was gross.
Then O'ris began room assignments. Of course, the larger females and males would get their own room since their dragons would grow the most. So, Ch'ko had his own room to plan his tricks. This got a stern look from the hungry bronze he was leaning against. His was better than that, he knew it. Ch'ko playfully nudged the bronze and continued listening until O'ris announced it was time to feed their dragons.
Now, feed me, Mine!
Ch'ko laughed and shook his head gently, leading the bronze to the meat. He watched as a lot of the Weyrlings began looking around for their new roommates. He wouldn't have minded a roommate. Though he'd probably drive him crazy. But knowing that Paixioth would grow so much, it was for the best. It was so weird to think that in only a couple of months, the bronze would overshadow him easily.
M'tren groaned as something nudged his shoulder, batting at the perpetrator sleepily. Ouch!Mine! That hurt! Esprith exclaimed, jerking backwards. That jolted M'tren fully awake, and he sat up quickly, soothing his dragon. "Sorry, Esprith," he said, "Just a bit sleepy." We have been called for our first lesson, M'trenMine, Esprith said, stretching himself. M'tren swung out of bed, and hastily pulled on his clothes, cinching his tool harness over his tunic and breeches.
Esprith relayed the message on the way down, and M'tren laughed. "One crazy fire-lizard is more than enough," he stated, much to Esprith's confusion; at least until M'tren showed him the appropriate images of Margras.
"A room to ourselves," he murmured, surprised, when O'ris told them their room assignments. This was most unexpected for him; he had expected to at least be sharing.
He glanced at Esprith's claws, then at the golden queen dragon at the mention of claws, and the mauled Candidates as well. A'tra's own scar came to his mind suddenly, and he shivered. M'trenMine, I would never hurt you, Esprith said, nudging him gently. M'tren smiled at Esprith and gave him a gentle rub on the eye ridge. When it finally came time to feed the dragons, M'tren moved first, standing up quickly, and, he noted, without using his hands, from his cross-legged position. He stepped up to one of the carcasses, and drew his belt knife. He had forged it himself, and it sported an amber pommel-stone. However, its grip was plain and serviceable, rather than ornate, and its blade was sharp and durable. M'tren wasn't precisely adept in utilising it, however; his first slice was rough, and was much too large until he cut it in half, offering the pieces one at a time to Esprith.
"Mnn... Ta. He stole forty bubbly pies, s'as many as four tens... and that's just terrible." Loto's largely sleep-laden words were slow and groggy, blending her words together in a sloppy slurr. To say she was awake would be giving her too much credit, but her eyes were open and half-lidded with a glaze to them. She was curled half way over the form of Mabiath, her arms crossed over the young Tan's ribcage as though she were a pillow, staring blankly ahead at the wall.
Waking up was something that wasn't coming very naturally to the normally very energetic girl this morning, Mabiath's low rumbling was as much a purr of contentment as anything else, lifting her head so that she could nuzzle Loto, butting her head lightly and affectionately into Loto's cheek. "Bwaa..." Was all Loto had to say in response, an absent-minded grin creeping up her face. She was warm, and it felt nice.
Weyrlings! Wake up! Your first lesson begins now. If you are not out here in ten minutes, I will send a crazy Fire Lizard in to wake you up! Loto blinked, not quite pulled out of her stupor by the Cyan's mindvoice serving as a strong wake up call. That didn't sound like Mabiath. Weyrlings were- ah, she was a weyrling! Jostled into a sudden waking state, her back straightened and she sat up from underneath her dragonet's warm bulk.
"Uwaa! Usa-Usa, class!" She blurted out importantly, stretching just a little to her palms could gently push up on the top bunk, testing for Medusa's weight which may not have even been there. Regardless, it wasn't panic about being late but a raw joy that animated enough to light one of those mega-watt smiles onto her face, a pleased-sounding trill coming from her.
Her hands dropped, running her hands over Mabiath's ribcage and locking eyes with the dragonet who regarded her with such loving, warm affection. Her dragon was concerned, something she understood without Mabiath having to put it into word- she was worried about inconveniencing the "crazy fire lizard". A thought that never would have occurred to Loto alone, one that made her laugh. "Let's go play with the others, ta?" Loto stalled for a moment, but found her words and action to back it up.
+++
The Tanpair had made it into the lesson with the bulk of most of the other students, filing in expectantly and taking in the sight of the others who had Weyrlings, keeping one hand on the edge of Mabiath's neck as she gawked at the bright-colored hides of the new dragonets and the pairs that filtered in. People watching was far more distracting than the enticing smell of meat, and O'ris' presence at the front was all but ignored by the big girl.
The room was effectively silenced as soon as the more experienced Cyanrider began to speak, and for a moment O'ris had Loto's undivided attention... a tenuous string that was not to last for terribly long. Just having Mabiath next to her was distracting.
Mabiath was less the size of a large dog and a little closer to the size of a small pony, something that Loto was happily taking advantage of while O'ris spoke. The girl was resting the weight of her hip against Mabiath, nudging her gently. Hey, hey. Hello! Mabiath replied warmly, seeming to reply both to Her's as well as Rhyolith, a sweetness about the way she angled her head. It was clear she was trying to pay attention, to listen, to understand- the same couldn't be said for her Rider.
It was the mention that there would be no hugging or cheek-kissing that drew in Loto's attention, causing her to lift her head with wide eyes and an uninhibited gasp. This was news to her- celibacy was fine, but- but-! Her expression was an obvious pout, wriggling slightly as though to internally argue the point when the fact that she would be rooming alone hit her like a ton of bricks.
"No more Usa?" Her hand flew up to her mouth with a deflated little whimper, the furrow of her brows painting the picture of rather obvious concern. She thought she was going to stay with Medusa, staying without her would be scary- Your Mabiath will keep you warm, LotoMine. Puzzlingly slow words with concern and reassurance quieted Loto, though she found herself holding very still. Mabiath crooned soothingly, sweetly nudging Loto's hand and huffing a stream of warm air onto the back of it.
It seemed enough to bring the girl back around, if uncertainly. "T- ta..." Loto flubbed, her next words coming out more confidently. "It will be an adventure!" Though she said this shooting one fist energetically into the air and moved towards the meat, her head still turned and her eyes sought out the figure of Medusa. Some habits died hard.
I don't know what I want, so don't ask me, Cause I'm still trying to figure it out, Don't know what's down this road, I'm just walking, Trying to see through the rain coming down.
Aimeth was awake. Sitting quite comfortably in the center of the last room in the barrack, she was watching her rider as she slept, a beautifully emotionless figure. At Rhyolith's call, she raised her head and blinked her outer lids, fighting off the lingering edges of sleep that hung about her. She gave Ruy a mental poke. Her rider's seven flitters were sleeping on the cot with her. While she had not originally been aware of them, she found herself with a fondness for them, most likely do her rider's own love for them. The bronze firelizard raised his head and blinked, then began to rouse the others; Eulo popped like a firecracker, the others swirling up after her. Shifting over, Sonia stirred faintly. Her mind felt heavy. Oh, that was Aimeth. Her eyes snapped open. Sure enough, there was the green. Her dragon. She smiled a quiet sort of smile and stood up.
The weyrlingmaster called; Aimeth explained, stepping back. There was a distant sort of contempt in her tone, the sort of contempt that would often accompany the dangerous flick of her delicate tail. Her defiance of her golden sister had not been a one time affair. Giving a nod and a meaningful glance to the young dragon, Sonia dressed quickly, shifting errant firelizards out of the way. Once she had clothes on, they clung to her and she allowed them that, caring more about being on time than on leaving them behind. She needed their companionship; they had things to teach Aimeth. Snorting, the green turned and pushed her way out of the room, leaving her rider to hurry after her with wariness still rampant in her posture. It looked as if there would be no miracles with her. Aimeth was what she needed, a protector, not a lover.
Quietly waiting at the back, Sonia was fine with the rules detailed. Perhaps they would help her get rid of L'ven or L'am or anyone at all. It was the mention of roommates that made her twitch. Still, she could deal with it. Aimeth, sitting beside her, took it much more dramatically, head snapping around so that she could eye Rhyolith like a piece of prey. With glee, Eulo and Jary joined her. No; Sonia ordered, swiftly picking up on their intentions. Just what she needed, all of them trying to beat up the weyrlingmaster. I'd prefer not to get in trouble. That one statement was enough to pull Aimeth back. She lived for her sympathy to her rider and Sonia blinked at her odd obedience before smiling. The flitters fell in line quickly enough. Time for food; she told them, which made even Jary perk up. It was a good day; she'd Impressed to Aimeth.
Picking out a carcass away from the others that had already started, Sonia set to work. She picked up a spare knife, eying it mildly, and started to slice off pieces. She had handled meat before and worked with experience. The hardest part was keeping her flitters off so that she could get a bowl in front of Aimeth before she fed them. Once the loveless green was eating away, she set to feeding her flitters, trying to do it subtly in case anyone might become irritated by it. She was a weyrling; she'd just had everyone who ranked above her detailed by a man who was now very much in charge of her. It had not made her overly interested in suddenly becoming more trusting of the world around her. Aimeth would have pushed her, but she didn't exactly see the point in going and making conversation. What a watchful pair they made together.
Even though I'm not the only one, Who feels the way I do, I'm alone, on my own, and that's all I know, I'll be strong, I'll be wrong, but life goes on.
Raising his eyebrows, E’ra glanced down to the Yellow dragonet peering up at him with hungry swirling eyes. “But O’ris said to cut small pieces,” he argued quietly, though still out loud. Ocouth promptly snorted and shook his head from side to side as he picked his head up high, stretching his little wings out to shake them before drawing them back. ‘Bigger!’ With a sigh, E’ra looked down upon Ocouth for a moment longer before looking back to the carcass, studying it briefly before going ahead to slice up more bits of meat, attempting to keep them small enough to avoid choking his dragon, but still big enough to appease the extravagant beast.[/ul]
Weyrlings! Wake up! Your first lesson begins now. If you are not out here in ten minutes, I will send a crazy Fire Lizard in to wake you up!
D'ix woke up in a terrible fit, throwing the skins off of him and to the ground and off the bed he swung out stomping. No one woke him up. Ever. Who the hell had the audacity? The first victim of his misplaced blame was a sleepy-looking Ressouth, roused by the very same message. As easy as it would have been to blame her, he knew quite unfortunately enough that she was not the culprit. Her voice would have been very simple to discriminate from any other. It was like the sound of nails on a chalkboard being auto-tuned. A clear exaggeration, but the effect was similar in his book.
As D'ix started to glare at a cowering Wormtail, Ressouth gave one great yawn followed by a cat-like stretch. She blinked the film from her eyes and watched her rider go about his business. As he was throwing the skin he had discarded before back onto the bed, she glanced out the window at the pale light pouring in before giving a sigh. This lesson is going to be pointless. I just know it, she whined. Why could they not wait for us to be awake first? Is that such a chore?
The boy didn't need to hear any of this complaining from his dragon because he felt the very same way and he didn't have to vocally assault anyone to get the message across. He was too busy crashing and bumping into things, trying to get himself ready to get out of here. Once he found a pair of pants he had pulled them on, forgetting to button everything up properly, and he turned straight for the door just to throw it open and stomp out. Instead of being vocal about his disapproval, he would show it with every move, gesture, and mannerism. D'ix was forever the action man.
Ressouth followed quickly after, trotting behind him once in a while and then slowing to a drag when no one was around. The moment another person turned to look her way she held herself like royalty. She wasn't kidding when she thought herself the best. That was how she felt. Being tired only factored into it so much. She didn't acknowledge other dragons at all, acting as snooty as possible. She could have rivaled Couineth perhaps, if she were several times larger than that Gold was. She was certainly smarter than that spoiled brat. That should make all the difference.
They took a while to find the class, only because D'ix refused to follow anyone and pretended he had several agendas to cover at once before making it to this appointment. He wasn't just some firelizard you expect to summon up. He had a mind of his own and he was going to prove it. If he hadn't been awake enough to get out of bed, he would have slept in and missed the lesson anyhow. He got what he wanted. It wasn't exactly what he wanted, but he believed that to be some higher power's fault. D'ix asked for an eagle and he ended up with a parrot. At least something came of his efforts. The worst that could have happened, aside from Impressing to something worse, was Impressing to nothing at all. This possibility was very tempting. No dragon meant no responsibility. Whatever the hell did he get himself into?
"I'm not sticking around. I'll show my face so we don't have to kill any annoying firelizards and then go back to my business," he said to himself. He shouldn't have. Now the Cyan was probably going to start talking. Yep. There she goes.
That will show them! No one bosses us around! Haha! She skipped to D'ix's side again, trying to catch up with him now that his pace just increased. They were rounding about towards the exit and stepping outside.
The first thing D'ix did was push a space for himself with Ressouth starting to do the very same. The Cyan even hissed at Paixioth when she felt that part of his space should be hers. The boy purposefully stayed away from anything green. He didn't want to run into F'ix or more annoying colors because Ressouth was more than enough for anyone.
From the start of the lesson, it was probably becoming clear who the problem students were. D'ix and his dragon were no exception. Ressouth began by correcting O'ris, pumped up by her human's strong desire to be anywhere else. Now behind me is where the food is located, the Cyan managed to interrupt. She glanced to D'ix. Our teacher is useless! We shouldn't have bothered to come here!
"I know, right?" D'ix agreed, folding his arms and narrowing his eyes at the Weyrlingmaster. Since his own sense of grammar was limited he had no idea what she was basing her conclusion upon, but the man had been talking for a couple of minutes now and the boy was still bored up until he heard of celibacy. He gave out one audible laugh and searched the crowd briefly for F'ix. "Ya hear that F'ix?" Just in case the boy missed it. Maybe having Ressouth around wasn't so bad, not if it meant keeping that trader off him. D'ix felt the balance of control shifting again. No more insulting kisses. Now he could stand there and really taunt the crap out of F'ix to get him back for all the trouble.
His somewhat better mood was wearing off pretty quickly though. So basically they were here to chop up some meat and learn their room assignments. That was what this whole exodus from dreamland to this hellhole was all about? He started to press his foot against the ground, rubbing it in. As long as he didn't have to share a room with that Viridian Weyrling, he didn't give a damn as long as his roommate knew how to mind his own damn business. The two were getting anxious when the room assignments were being called and Ressouth was becoming furious as O'ris was going down the list, arriving at her name last as if she were just some afterthought. She didn't want to share a room at all! Why should she? Couineth got a room to herself. The Tans were getting rooms to themselves. It wasn't fair! Ressouth needed room to grow! She and her human needed privacy!
No, no, no! A mistake has been made! Mine and I are to have a room to ourselves! The Cyan stepped forth, fearlessly closing a foot of distance between herself and their leaders. D'ix could hear the protest and decided to back his dragon on this one. Sure, he hadn't ended up with F'ix, but if he could get a handle on his own room then he'd fight like a wher to get it.
"We want our own room," D'ix added, now approaching O'ris himself. He didn't make himself look particularly dangerous however. He was too tired and in all honesty it wasn't a huge deal to him. He could put this N'at fellow whoever the hell he was in his place pretty easily. Ressouth snorted behind him because she didn't think that her human's demand was strong enough on its own. She was hungry, but she was willing to wait right now. This was an important matter. She did not want to be treated like additional baggage. She was a dragon and she deserved more honor for it. Theirs was a great pair--the greatest pair. They shouldn't have to share with anyone!
I am a growing dragon, you know! If I am to be stored with another dragon in some small room, I will end up as tiny as a Greeeeen! Ressouth was forgetting that a Cyan of greater age and height was backing this man. It didn't really matter to her. She'd challenge whoever she had to in order to prove her worth, and she and her human were worth quite a lot.
(Mega mega apologies for the late Weyrling lessons post, Kia! D: I kinda had no muse for this until now..)
Weyrlings! Wake up! Your first lesson begins now. If you are not out here in ten minutes, I will send a crazy Fire Lizard in to wake you up!
Startled out of her sleep by the sound of Eleusyniath moving restlessly on the floor nearby and the voice echoing in her head, Sayami bolted upright, earning an amused image from the Cyan pacing a short distance from the bed she was sitting on. Scrambling off the bed, the pale-skinned Candidate darted around the room in a somewhat panic, pulling off various pieces of clothing and pulling on others, then dragging a brush through her hair for a second before she lunged for the door, yanking it open and all but running through, Eleusyniath behind her, barely avoiding the heavy door as it slammed shut, narrowly avoiding taking the tip of the young dragonet's tail off.
Reaching the area that the other Weyrlings and their partners were congregating, Sayami could see the Weyrling Master and his full-grown Cyan standing at the front of the crowd, waiting for any later stragglers to arrive, before he began, introducing himself first. “Congratulations on your Impressions the other day, class. Your class has been now been dubbed the Wind-weavers. For the next Turn and a half, I will be your Weyrling Master. My name is O`ris, this Green thing around my neck is Lira, and my dragon is Cyan Rhyolith.”
Hello
"Later today you will be given a lesson from the Weyrhealers about the basic dragon anatomy, but the important part that you need to know about is a dragon's claws. As some of you experienced first hand on the Sands, dragons have sharp claws. When they get bigger, their teeth will become sharper than their claws. While your dragons are still this size, you will need to watch out for their claws and cut their food up until they can start tearing it themselves."
Sayami bowed politely to O'ris and Rhyolith once he had introduced the two of them, hearing Rhyolith's greeting in her mind as she listened attentively to the instructions that he was giving to the group that consisted of Weyrlings and their dragons in front of him.
"Now, behind me, is where the food is. Every day for the next few months, you will have to get up and come out here to cut the meat up into small pieces for your dragon to eat. Do not make the pieces to large that they will choke your dragon. "
Still paying attention to what was being explained, Sayami took a glance behind her as O'ris indicated the area the food would be, spotting the meat, along with the cutting utensils needed to make sure that the meat could be cut up into small enough pieces for the dragonets to eat.
"Before we start feeding your dragons, there are a few rules that we need to cover followed by roommate assignments.
The first rule is something the everyone tends to know once they become Weyrlings: You are to remain celibate until you graduate. You are also to avoid touching those of the opposite gender for several months. This means no hugging or kissing on the cheeks for a few months. When we get to flying lessons, you may go back to hugging. You are to respect those in charge of you at all times.
Those above you are the Weyrleaders, the Wingleaders, the Wingseconds, the Weyrhealers, and myself. Finally, you will attend and listen to all lectures given. Failing to come and not participate in certain activities will result in more chores until you comply. "
Sayami turned back round to the front as O'ris continued speaking, setting out the rules which they were going to be expected to follow, and also the punishments that would be given for disobeying or not attending/participating in the lectures.
Hungry, SayamiMine.. I want to eat..Eleusyniath distracted her long enough for her to turn her attention away from the lesson to reassure her partner. "We'll get you food soon enough, Eleusyniath. Just wait a little longer."
"Room ten will be occupied by Sayami, Eleusyniath, Toniiandra, and Mamosath" O'ris' room assignments caught her attention again long enough to hear that she had been assigned to room ten, with Toniiandra and her partner, Mamosath.
Rosasharn was already happily up and about when Rhyolith made her announcement. She bustled and bounced around her temporary weyr, Lady Belle watching supportively from the bedpost and Sereinth hovering indecisively nearby, humming to herself and occasionally breaking into bursts of song for her captive Pink audience as she tidied up. MineOwn, will you not let me help you clean? I can do that. Tell me what to do? I didn’t know we were supposed to clean anyway… Sereinth called, shuffling forward to aid and then backward to stay out of the way. It was a terrible predicament. Now dontcha worry yur pretty lil’ head ‘bout this, Sereinth dahlin’, she said, upbeat. We don’t haaave ta clean, but ah just couldn’ resist tidyin’ up a lil’ bit. Now it’ll be naice and purty for tha next person in here! She broke into another happy hum at that enthralling, kindly idea and skipped around the room with her makeshift duster.
Sereinth was silent.
Sereinth, sweetie pie; Ah didn’ upset ya, did Ah? You can clean if ya really wan to, Rosasharn said, noticing the silence and turning to her. Sereinth had a strange, distant look on her face that momentarily sent Rosasharn into a panic (she threw her rag and clamored over, babbling senselessly) but soon looked up happily. Mine! Rhyolith just talked to me! She said that we’re to have a Weyrling Lesson this morning! Her face gradually fell from excitement to panicky dread. Now! She said we have to be there in ten minutes! Oh no! Mine, we’d better hurry!
Fortunately, Rosasharn did all her fixing and fancying up first thing in the morning after she got out of bed, so after scooping up Lady Belle the trio were on their way. Though they were one of the first few to arrive, Rosasharn was still excited, as she had been for the Candidate lecture on viewing the eggs, by the gathering of her peers. She sang a happy hello to O’ris and Rhyolith, curtsying to them gladly as her superiors, and then went among the others. She beamed at them all, friend, acquaintance, or not. She spotted Ch’ko and his new lifemate and waved. Woah! He had impressed a King that was almost already bigger than him! She also saw someone she liked much much less- her so called “fiancée”. Avoiding F’lix and his Virdian like the plague, she and Sereinth took a place near the front off to the side. She wanted to be right in the middle of everything but she didn’t want to chance being found by the former pair.
Rosasharn listened attentively as O’ris spoke, nodding along with his words. She was felt highly fortunate that she had somehow avoided being mauled at the Hatching; no one had to tell the Windweavers that dragons had sharp claws. And they would have sharp teeth too, or so her Weyrlingmaster said, but for now she had to cut up meat for Sereinth. Rosasharn’s initial reaction was to wrinkle up her nose in distaste when she looked behind him to where the carcasses lay. Nothin’ ta make a fuss over, she chided herself sternly, gathering some courage, Why, it’s jus laike perparin’ food. Sereinth nuzzled her apologetically, looking downcast because she could do so little for herself and it seemed that Hers was having to do everything. Rosasharn leaned over quickly and kissed her on the head. Don’t worry, dahlin’, everyone’s happy here!
Then came the rules, as was to be expected. Rosasharn pulled away quickly, thinking she would be in trouble that she had kiss Sereinth just as O’ris had said no kissing, and then giggled when it became clear that it applied only to other humans. Rosasharn could be affectionate without touching, though no hugging just seemed as silly as could be, so it was no problem! Not only that, but it gave her a definite technical safety towards F’ix- he couldn’t touch her! She beamed, resolved to focus on the bright side of the rule. The second was a given for her. Respect authority? Why, she wouldn’t dream of back talking the Weyrleaders or a Wingleader or such. It was terribly rude, against conduct, and very unladylike. Rule three was just the same; of course she would show up!
Rosasharn waited eagerly for her and Sereinth’s roommate assignment. Who would it be? Would they be nice? Clean? Fun? She twiddled with the hem of her dress, waiting as O’ris went down the list. Lady Belle squawked at her in exasperation to quit fidgeting. This here list is so long, Sereinth! We must be at the very bottom! And so they almost were, but Rosasharn drunk in the words when they were finally uttered. Gaige and Faibeth. She looked around with wide, eager eyes as if she would be able to discern them by only knowing their names. Sereinth, help me find ‘em! she hooted as everyone began to go towards the meat. Sereinth looked around eagerly, more knowledgeable of her clutchbrothers and sisters than Rosasharn was of her fellow Weyrlings. Over there! Faibeth is Green and Hers is the rather small one nearby. Sereinth looked up at her happily. She had helped!
Thanka dahlin’, Rosasharn said as she picked up her skirts and frolicked over to her new roomie. ”Well hallo there!” she nearly burst as she arrived, Serenith stopping behind her and peering around. ”You must be Gaige,” she plowed on, her voice becoming louder and more obnoxious as she went on. ”And Faibeth too! Naice to meetcha! Isn’ this just so excitin’? We get to move inta the Weyrlin’ barracks now- and we’re gonna be roomies! We can come ta lessons and do chores together and everything! Oh, Ah can tell we’re jus’ gonna be the best of friends!”
The only thing that got Tieler out of bed at a decent time, after Klaisath’s repeating the announcement, was the realization that Lesa and Maeiouth would be showing-up also. The pair would be able to keep her both alert, and, mostly importantly, awake and entertained. The black seemed quite adamant that they get there on-time. Just great, she’d impressed a punctual dragonet.
~It’s important that we show up on time, the last thing we want is more duties, or even a punishment!~ The black, Klaisath, said the word ‘punishment’ as if it was the kiss of death.
Relax, we’ll get there, Tieler told him grumpily, getting dressed. She hated being woken-up, hated it. Soon they were standing amongst the rest of the Weyrling’s, nearly having forgotten just how big a group it was. She didn’t spot Lesa, quickly becoming irritated by being surrounded by others she could care a less about.
Find them, would you? Tieler asked Klaisath, trying to listen to the instructions they were being given. It was quite hard though, because instructions had never been her thing. If Lesa were here she could remember them for her... Something was being said about the opposite sex, and touching. Oh, there would be no problem there when it came to her. She wouldn’t even touch the opposite sex with a ten-foot pole.
Klaisath, always understanding His, knew exactly whom she meant when she referred to ‘them.’ He spoke to Maeiouth: ~Mine is searching for Yours, and a good-morning to you clutchsister. I am excited to see You and Yours. It will be our first lesson together! Tell Yours that Mine isn’t paying very good attention, so she may need some prodding-yes?~ There was Klaisath, always keeping on top of things when Tieler didn’t. He was perfect for her; she just didn’t know it yet.
Tieler spotted Xela, only because she called out over the rest of the group to ask a question about same-sex touching. Tieler willed her to shut-up, because if nothing was said of it, then they couldn’t be blamed for it. Pipsqueak, she thought to herself, snorting. And, go figure, shortly after she was called-out as being the fellow blackrider’s roomie. Oh, you’ve got to be kidding me, Tieler snorted.
~Please, TielerMine, attempt at being nice-okay? I’m sure you could manage, if only for a short while?~ Tieler said nothing in response.
Once O’ris and his large Cyan were done with talking, for now, Tieler headed to the slabs of meat set out for them. Approaching a pile of meat that wasn’t already being cut-up, she began to take the free chunks and do just that. Afterwards, when the slices were to her satisfaction, she fed them to Klaisath. The black was standing beside her most faithfully. He seemed more than just your usual hungry, accepting the chunks of meat with a happiness that made it impossible for His not to smile.
She kept an eye out for Lesa, making sure that no one else came to this pile so that way she could share with her best friend. Was it wrong that a part of her was enthralled that Lesa couldn’t be acting out anything with the boys, even if she wanted to? Maybe she didn’t want to, who knew. Or maybe her thinking she didn’t want to be was just her thinking what she wanted to think. Ah, all so complicated!
I'tier had been lazily strumming his guitar on the cot. He'd only been at the hatching feast briefly, for a spot of food and the whole introduction of the new weyrlings. Sometimes parties were his thing, sometimes they weren't. It just so happened that they weren't that day. Verith was more his thing. The dragon had eaten enough to make him quite drowsy in the end, and the both of them seemed quite enamored with the idea of sleeping. It sounded as fine an evening as any. I'tier didn't know if morning had came when he awoke, but he couldn't fall back asleep. There was some calm but persistent excitement inside him. Even if he'd Impressed Verith last night, the feelings were still there.
He was quiet about his plucking and humming, to let his little blue sleep. It was terribly nice. A quiet room, with a quiet dragon and quiet music. Soon enough, though, Verith stirred. His little voice came to I'tier's mind. Mine? Rhyolith says we should come fast... um. There was a lazy moment that I'tier took to register that sentence. Ah, Rhyolith, the weyrlingmaster's dragon. He understood now. Well, then, let's get going, he said, setting Annabelle aside. Not in any rush, but not dawdling, the relaxed pair made their lazy way out to meet with the rest. I'tier went about multi-tasking - listening as well as looking around at the sky and the dragonets and the world in general. Everything filtered through into his head, though. Careful of claws, feed them small bits, abstain from contact with females, room nineteen with N'uel. Verith was looking around, too. He didn't see Couineth quite yet. Was Miss Gold okay? Or still upset? The food that I'tier then cut up for him got his mind off it, though. It came slowly, as I'tier hummed and didn't bother to rush, but Verith didn't mind at all. There was all the time in the world, even if he was hungry. --- Samael was sleeping like a log. She'd eaten almost as much as Naireth had at the feast. It was great food, too, especially the roast herdbeast... To die for! But like all good things, there was always a point when there was too much. When she couldn't even look at the food without feeling ill, she figured it was time to head off to sleep. Naireth, who had eaten even before Samael, agreed. She had waited patiently while Samael got her fill, though. No need to bother SamaelMine. While Sam snored on, Naireth woke. She had heard Rhyolith's message loud and clear. The weyrlingmaster says our lesson is now and we should be there in ten minutes. Those are the rules, SamaelMine. The tan blinked and peered at Hers as she rolled over and groaned. Her arm, which had been hanging off the bed, was still asleep and tingly. Great. We should listen to them. She would obey, she would listen, and she would protect. Naireth would always stick to her mantra. It was all she knew. "Shellsss..." Samael whined, but she did get up and dressed. Rubbing sleep from her eyes, she lead the way with Naireth walking obediently behind her. She didn't like getting up when she didn't want to. She wanted to sleep... She'd Impressed last night! That was tiring! Oh well. She couldn't argue. Naireth wouldn't let her argue. Rules, rules, rules... Well. At least she'd never be late for anything ever again. That was probably good for her unmotivated lazy self. Stifling a yawn as they got there, she listened to the best of her ability. She caught everything, mostly - the main ideas, at least. She couldn't repeat O'ris word for word, but she knew what he'd been getting at. She also noticed that she was in room three by herself, just with Naireth. She took it rather mildly. She was fine with being alone, but she would have been fine with a roommate, too. Roommates made things interesting... Like Belphe. Who was Belphe's roommate? She hadn't caught that bit. She'd stopped listening after she heard her room. Shard it, Sam. Wake up! Lazy wher.She really just wanted to sleep... When everyone moved for the herdbeasts, she did too, and went about cutting it into rather large pieces. She wasn't exactly paying attention. They looked small-ish to her. Naireth, however, had other opinions. Watching Hers, she interjected her thoughts. Rhyolith's said to make them small pieces, so we must do that. Also, be careful with the knife, SamaelMine. Do not hurt yourself. There was, perhaps, a tinge of concern in Naireth's voice, but it was mostly dutiful. She would obey, she would listen, and she would protect. Obey, listen, protect. Ah... right. Right. Thanks Nai.Daftly came, Who's--Thanks, Naireth.Correction out of the way, Samael shook her head to clear it. Wake up, lazy wher. And as it should have, her cutting abilities improved after that. Her fingers and Naireth's throat were probably thanking her.[/blockquote]
Catori was not a morning person. No, not at all. She also was not quite used to Koketeth's voice echoing in her mind. So when Koketeth's voice sang happily in Catori's mind while she was still half asleep, it took her a moment to figure out what was going on. Once she understood, though, she awoke fully with a start and sat up in a hurry.
CatoriMine! Please come on! It is lesson time! Let us see who is there, Mine! Koketeth crooned happily as she looked at Catori with whirrling eyes. She was eager to see all that was in their lessons, and she wanted to make new friends! She had to meet the males and find that perfect one!
Koketeth, Lessons first...no hurry for anything else, alright? Catori said silently as she rubbed her eyes and slid out of her bed. She was not the fastest at changing, but Koketeth was just happy that they made it outside before the mad flitter was sent on them. She really didn't want Hers to get into trouble on their first day of lessons!
Catori was still yawning as the weyrling master went about speaking. She just couldn't seem to wake up! Koketeth kept quiet, but shot Catori a few glances, only to make sure Hers was still awake and listening. Catori was listening, and it was proven. When she heard O'ris say that they were not allowed to touch anyone of the opposite gender, her jaw almost fell to the ground. Even slight dissappointment rang in Koketeth's thoughts, then again, it could have just been an echo of what was going through Catori's mind. OH SHARDS! That is going to be hard! She thought to herself as she sighed and tried to regain control over herself. That information just made part of her life a nightmare. She looked at Koketeth as O'ris proceeded to explain the feeding routeen and the room arrangements. Koketeth let a small dragonic smile form on her maw as she looked at hers for a moment.
As soon as the Weyrling Master had given them permission to start the feeding, Koketeth bounded forward a few bounds and looked at Hers. Oh Mine! Can we do such a thing with ease? You cannot break his rules! She crooned happily as she watched her follow her. I won't break the rules, Koketeth. I promise. I will do it for you, my Koketeth, She pat the Green's head lovingly as she caught up with her. She proceeded to the meat and looked at it for a moment. She wasn't too fond of the fact that she had to touch the raw meat, but she goon grabbed hold of the slab and began to cut it slowly. She was cutting into tiny pieces, pieces that would have been the size for a young flitter.
Mine, that is too good of a job for your Koketeth! The green teased as Catori looked at the young dragon with a slightly confused look. She then looked at the meat pieces and grinned. Shush! I knew that, She giggled as her own teasing shot back at the green dragonet. Koketeth just crooned and watched happily.
