A dark shadow passed over the Weyrbowl. Dragon in shape so not unusual. The pink dragon circled back around banking down towards the ground. She was dark in colour with darker wings and a lighter belly. Of course, this was more than difficult to see from the ground. What was perhaps unusual about this dragon was more the fact that she was not from Dalibor. At least not yet.
The ex Fort pair continued to circle around the bowl not entirely sure whether they should land just yet. Je’kyll was all but shivering from the cold of Between. He had always hated those journeys, the ones that required them to go Between and turn up somewhere completely different. They were the longer journeys and no matter how many times he did it he still thought it a task. If it were not for need of a change he would have stayed in Fort, comfortable and warm… But they had needed it. Hydeth needed to get away from any memories that plagued her. She seemed more than unable to let go of them she seemed unwilling. No matter what Je’kyll thought of another Hydeth seemed to think that violence was the only answer. Part of Je’kyll thought it humorous and the other terrified. The readiness with which Hydeth suggested eating people was not something he truly wished to encounter. He had therefore approached his Weyrwoman and requested to transfer expending what little political leverage he had.
Against all suggestions and arguments otherwise he was here, in Dalibor Weyr a little in doubt of his decision. Subconsciously he patted Hydeth’s side reassuringly although it was more to reassure himself that they had made the right decision. He’d needed to get away from the violence that they had caused at Fort… It had been two turns but it still plagued him. Not to worry Je’kyllMine I will eat them if they do not greet us. The assertion was accompanied by a menacing growl as they came lower to the Weyrbowl.
All Je’kyll could do was look exasperated as Hydeth eyed one of the watch dragons. Yes dear… Announce us please… Je’kyll replied cautiously. Hydeth huffed but did so, speaking to the Watches. Je’kyll and Pink Hydeth, transfers from Fort. Hydeth announced. Even Je’kyll could hear some of the pride and dreamy vagueness in her tone as she performed a loop with happiness.
The pair circled lower to the bowl and eventually came close enough to land. Hydeth trumpeted happily and then swayed from side to side once she touched down, humming lightly. Je’kyll jumped down off her back and landed on the ground. Mine… Do you suppose there will be a welcoming committee? With Wherries! Or Herdbeasts! She practically skipped with delight at the thought. She was hungry after all.

Azra and Ayarth. Ayarth and Azra. The two were like ghosts in the back ground of Dalibor. Neither liked the attention, and neither liked to be seen that often. Ghosts. Merely there when needed, then fall back into the mists to hide. At the moment, they thought they were hiding, well, Azra believed this at least. Ayarth, he knew that they were in public, and he was fine by this. He wanted to get out of his tiny hovel and stretch. The black just lay on the moist, winter ground, looking at His with protective eyes as she oiled the maroon shaded black flitter, Carlos. Azra’s dark brown hair was tied up with a throng into a messy bun on the back of her head, with a few strands of bangs drooping into her face and covering her brown eyes. Carlos crooned as he was oiled, enjoying the feeling of both attention from His, and the soothing oil on dry hide. Mine, AzraMine, are you getting cold? Ayarth’s voice was strong into Azra’s mind as he watched her. He worried about her, as always, and knew he needed to ask her if she was alright, for she would never admit she was cold otherwise. No, Ayarth. I am alright, Azra’s eyes shifted to her black and smiled softly. The large black crooned and let out a heavy sigh.
All was silent again. Rider and dragon. Dragon and rider. Then, there was that familiar sound of a dragon coming out of between. Ayarth’s black head lifted quickly, and red burst into his eyes for a moment, then cooled. He watched the darker pink, then stood. He could feel her attitude, like one feels the radiation of heat off of a flame. He immediately was cursing in his mind, earning worried glances from His. Ayarth…? I am fine, AzraMine. Your Ayarth is fine.[/b] He huffed slightly, his eyes staying locked on the unfamiliar pink. Then, she let out her call as she landed. His eyes burst with red again, and he opened his maw and let out a loud, booming roar for a moment, then fell silent once more. As he fell silent, he hissed, as if daring the pink and Hers to try, just TRY, to harm His. Then, the pink landed, not so far from him and His. In fact, he thought she was far too close! He bared his teeth and hissed, only to earn an easy touch to his leg from Azra. ”Ayarth. They aren’t harming anything…” She said softly. She too thought that the newly arrived pair were too close. She didn’t like people. They scared her, just as other dragons, whers, and canines did. Pillies and flitters used to scare her, but not anymore. They were alright. Carlos, who was picking up on Ayarth’s frustration, was circling in the air, yelling at the pink and Hers. HOW DARE THEY GET SO CLOSE TO HIS AND GREY-KNOB BIG! THEY WERE HIS!! The maroon-black black flitter screamed and snapped his jaws in the air with anger as his eyes were tie-dyed with red and various other colors. Ayarth seemed pleased with Carlos’ actions and didn’t scold the flit as he kept his eyes on the pink and Hers.

Je'kyll petted Hydeth's leg reassuringly as she seemed to get more excited about the thought of having Wherries to eat. In fact, she was looking around expectantly as though waiting for someone to bring a snack. Je'kyll was a little worried Requias might be long coming... He had not been able to have her transported via dragon back so had asked a Runner friend to work on getting her transported over expending what little he had earned not to mention becoming indebted to the Runner. If all went well she would arrive in only a few short months. He heard a snort of indignation from Hydeth and looked at the dragon. She never really understood why he had kept the beast... More importantly, she didn't understand why she couldn't eat it.
Hydeth only then noticed the commotion being caused a little way away from her. She hissed quietly but calmed when Hers touched her side. My dear, we must make a good impression. How dare that little beast make those noises at me! If he is not my dinner he will get out of my way.
Je'kyll attempted to send waves of reassurance to his Dragon but by now she had noticed the Black. He had growled at her! How dare he! Just because she was new. She dropped low to the ground eying the other dragon menacingly and baring her teeth. She would destroy him unless he apologised for his greeting! She was not going to be pushed around here! She had put that behind her. She had only arrived and happily greeted the Watches, was there a crime in that? Hydeth!
The sharp reproach caused her to look about in some vague surprise. She spotted Hers smile at the other Rider as though he was about to approach the Pair. She looked panicked for a moment and then went back to glaring at the male. She snapped in the direction of the Flitt and then settled down when she finally realised that Je'kyll wasn't going to leave her. They just didn't hear your greeting... Je'kyll lied to the dragon. Oh. He could have said so. She huffed still eying the trio suspiciously.
In all reality Je'kyll was hiding his own frustrations rather well. Surely they would have had enough sense to at least speak to them. He quelled the anger boiling in him and then began working on the harness Hydeth was wearing. He wasn't sure whether he should say something. He fretted for a moment and turned as though meaning to speak and then ducked back to Hydeth. If he comes over here I will eat him. Hydeth grumbled

Attitude! Ayarth was furious! How DARE SHE talk back to him! He was about to storm over there, then Azra touched him again. There was a worried, almost frightened look on her face as she looked up at her black, then the pink and her rider. She noticed her rider, smiling at her and she lowered her gaze immediately. Ayarth huffed again and wrapped his tail around Azra. His eyes softened as he lowered his head to her, reassuring her. I will not let him harm you, Mine,[/b] He crooned. Azra smiled and patted his nose, then looked back at the pink. Why was she growling back? Ayarth was only showing that he didn’t want her to be bothered, as he always did. Maybe…she should apologize? She really didn’t want to. In fact, she HATED the thought of going over to the man and apologizing for the misunderstanding. Ayarth hated the thought even more! MINE! You will not![/b] Ayarth growled as he looked at His again. Azra’s brown eyes showed that she wanted to listen to him, but she knew better. Ayarth…We don’t want people to hate us, She said mentally. As much as she hated to admit it, she knew it was true and it had to be done. Quickly, she grabbed Carlos out of the air and hugged him tightly. The flitter growled and hissed, his eyes still locked on the pink. Azra started to pet him, nervously, as she stepped away from her black beast and towards the pink and her rider.
She walked slowly, not eager to meet the pink rider, and really not eager to hear what he had to say about Ayarth’s…warning. Her worry did not stop her though. It was Ayarth that gave her confidence to do almost everything, and this was no exception. She needed to say sorry. She could not allow a misunderstanding to turn into something more. ”E-e-excuse me…” She said softly, stopping some distance away from both dragon and rider. Her eyes kept darting to the pink, nervous of the other dragon. Her arms kept squeezing her flitter, Carlos, tighter and tighter in her fear as she looked from the pink dragon, to the rider, and back again. ”I-I j-just wanted to…s-say sorry…A-ayarth is just….protective,” Her voice was soft as she lowered her gaze to look at the ground. She would not look at the man as she spoke to him, and she let her brown hair fall into her face to further hide herself from him
They do not deserve apologies! MINE, GET BACK HERE![/I] Ayarth was still furious that His was going to talk to the Pink and her rider, yet, he didn’t move. He was slightly worried that if he moved closer, he wouldn’t be able to reach his fast enough, and the Pink would harm her. He would not be able to live if His was harmed by a pink! Shards, if Azra got harmed, he would just have to between forever!

Je'kyll looked at Hydeth's eyes, stern and resolute. The look quelled anything Hydeth had been thinking and she dropped to the ground. If you lay a tooth on anyone here... Look, I know it's tough but maybe you should say something to him. Maybe he'll calm down if you do. Je'kyll spoke to Hydeth calmly and petted her muzzle reassuringly. They needed this to work. After the disaster that had been Hydeth's first flight... Je'kyll had found it tough to feel completely comfortable in Fort. Dalibor seemed to have so much happening! Hopefully they would be able to make use of Hydeth's more... energetic tendencies.
I don't see why Mine. But I will try. Hydeth replied grudgingly but she cheered up a little at the thought of hopefully reversing the situation, Greetings! Pink Hydeth from Fort. We were from Fort but now we're here. Je'kyll turned and spotted the Rider almost right in front of him. He was startled but forced a smile remaining rather awkward. She apologised for the Dragon. He relaxed visibly and nodded. "Uh... No, it's, uh not a problem. We're new... He probably didn't know us. Je'kyll and she's Hydeth. We're transfers from Fort." He replied awkwardly.
She seemed nervous. He was also rather shy to approach others and even slower to trust. He still watched the Black with some concern but they did have the upper hand. If anything happened it would not be he who'd end up worse. Then again, if Hydeth did anything he had no doubt that some repercussions would be felt. Perhaps being stripped of rank. They were, after all, new and it would not do to cause injury their first day.
He smiled again and looked at the Black Flitt. "He's... Um... Pretty sweet?" He said after a moment with some inflection at the end of his sentence. He didn't reach out to pet the thing though... He seemed more likely to eat fingers than let them pet him. He ran a hand through his hair and felt Hydeth relax a little more. There is no need to be worried! I will not eat Yours.

Ayarth’s eyes were wild. He hated it when His ignored him! Did she not know that they could kill her?! Especially when she was so far from him! It made him itch with worry and frustration. Then, the pink spoke to him, and he instinctually bared his fangs for a brief moment. Slowly, he regained his cool, well, somewhat of his cool, and looked at the pink, as if assessing her words. Was she telling the truth? Or was she lying? He was bad with reading others. It was a moment like this that he wished he was better at it. Ayarth…Mine is AzraMine. He growled slightly. His eyes watched the pink. Even as he assessed her, he could not decide if she was harmless enough, or if His was in danger. You better not even set a talon on her. He growled. He slid to his belly again, trying to make himself relax. His muscles were tense, and his eyes were still narrow, but he had to keep his cool. He had to fade into the background again, and then, his would follow. That was how it always worked.
Azra’s eyes would not look at the man yet, even as he spoke. She could hear awkwardness in his voice, and it made her feel a bit better about herself. Slowly, she lifted her head, and looked at the pink first. Then at the legs of her rider. She still wasn’t certain about looking into his face, but she slowly was raising her eyes. ”W-well….W-welcome…I guess…” She said with a nervous smile. The welcoming wagon was not something that she was good at, but he seemed nice enough, so she had to try. ”I-I’m Azra. T-that’s…A-ayarth. This is Carlos,” She lowered her gaze again to look at her maroon shaded black flitter. Carlos was still growling and snapping his jaws. It made her smile slightly and she couldn’t believe that the little flitter was so mad. Then again, she had forgotten that Carlos hated men… ”n-no. He…is far…f-from nice.” She slowly raised her head again and slightly smiled at the man. Her eyes did not linger on him, though, and was soon on the ground again.
AzraMine. If you insist on socializing, do not look at the boring soil the whole time,[/b] Ayarth growled again. As displeased he was, he had to be there for her, right? OH he was getting so confused with himself! Ayarth’s eyes were wild. He hated it when His ignored him! Did she not know that they could kill her?! Especially when she was so far from him! Oh. I suppose that is fair. What if I had to help her? Hydeth asked, dreamy and passive vagueness returning. She began swaying from side to side happily. Certainly, the Black was still most displeased with her but she had only then realised that they at least had something in common. He was trying to protect His. She would probably have done the same if a strange dragon had dropped out of the sky as she had done. Still, she was wary of him... He still seemed agitated and with Hers talking to His he might try to attack. She looked about still searching a little for any Wherries or Herdbeasts. If only Hers had brought that creature he seemed to love. It seemed so tasty.
Je'kyll watched the other Rider with a rather interested expression. At least he had not yet gone blank... He tried to pay attention to the girl as she stammered her way through a greeting and then smiled faintly when she introduced the Flitt. He'd never really wanted one himself... He had Hydeth and that was more than enough. Sure, she was his love but he couldn't imagine more of her trying to eat other people. At least she had calmed down now. He could only assume it had something to do with the fact that the Black had also calmed himself. Je'kyll was far less on edge enough to find her comment about Carlos a little humorous. He did not laugh though merely looked at the strange, maroon, black creature with some wonder.
"I've Ah, well, I've never thought of getting one myself. I have a Runner though... She's erm... I guess she'd be on some transport by now..." He decided to tell her. It wasn't exactly relating to the subject but he wasn't certain what else he could say to her. He had never really been greeted in this way and he could feel the awkwardness emanating from the both of them. He'd need to get more confident if he wanted to really make a new start in Dalibor.
Ayarth was just trying to protect His. He has explained it to me. Hydeth interjected in his mind. She hummed a little and looked at the Rider. She seemed anxious. She had a dragon, surely the Rider did not think She would eat her. It did not even cross Hydeth's mind that only moments before she had been thinking about attacking the Black and His. That's good Dear... Make sure you don't upset him. The Pink snorted. She never upset anyone! Besides, he'd started it! "Have you been here a while Azra...?" He asked after a moment's silence, "I hear Dalibor's fallen on some tough times..." He'd heard only rumours really, vague things passed on from other Riders.

Azra was slightly relaxing now that Ayarth had shown that he didn’t find the pink too dangerous any more. It made her feel better to know that her own dragon was more comfortable with her being so close to another rider and dragon. Not that her ‘closeness’ was really that close. She tried to show that she was relaxing, but that was extremely difficult for her to do. She raised her head a slight bit more, but her shoulders were still tense as they held her head up. She listened slightly as he spoke of his running beast. ”Running beasts…scare..me..” She admitted with reddening cheeks. ”B-but I’m sure she…is nice?” She didn’t want to insult the pink rider, so she injected that sentence quickly. Her eyes drifted back to Carlos who was wiggling now, extremely irritated with being held for so long. He loved his, he couldn’t deny that, but her squeezing was becoming annoying. He squeaked and growled as he wiggled, until Azra finally released the flit. He climbed to the shoulders of His, and turned to glare at the man again. Azra started to pet Carlos. ”I-its alright, Carlos. He’s nice.” She said softly, almost crooning to the black flit. Carlos didn’t seem convinced, and kept hissing and glaring at the pink rider.
Ayarth listened to the Pinks question, then grumbled to himself. Apparently she didn’t get his point. Like all pinks. Of course. Mine. Can we go? They are boring and she is annoying. He grumbled into Azra’s mind. Azra shot Ayarth a glance, then denied his request, just as Je’kyll started to ask something. ”Y-yes. I-I have been here for…at least five turns. I…don’t remember exact number,” She blushed and lowered her gaze again as she admitted that she couldn’t remember the exact number of turns that she had been in dalibor. She hoped that he wouldn’t be mad at her for it! It would be terrible if he became mad at her for it! What would she do? He would get mad at her, and then…Then he could either attack her, or he could talk about her to other people and other people would attack her and Ayarth! The thoughts made her eyes water for a moment, but then they dried as she inhaled deeply and shooed the thoughts away. ”Y-yeah. The times have been hard. H-hopefully, you will be lucky enough to not see any of it…” She tried to force out a friendly smile, but she had a feeling that it looked way too forced.

Hydeth huffed when the black didn't respond. So, he didn't want to talk. That was fine with her. She settled down grudgingly and looked at the Rider. Hydeth eyed the human for a moment and then looked back at the Black. She hoped he wouldn't chase her. Or maybe she wanted him to... The thoughts mulled over in her head as she looked around the Bowl, there was still no food for her. You had better find food for me now Mine or I will eat the little Black. She grumbled.
Je'kyll's eyes widened at the venom in Hydeth's tone and turned to work the straps, listening to what Azra was saying. The harness fell off and Hydeth shook herself. She looked at the Black once more and was about to leave when a thought crossed her mind. If she left Je'kyll Hers would be unguarded! She fretted torn between the violence she wished to invoke upon the Herdbeasts in the pen and staying to protect hers. She hissed a little at the dilemma and backed away from Hers slowly, keeping an eye on the Black.
Je'kyll, meanwhile, was still speaking with Azra. "Dalibor's only about that old isn't it? You've been here since it started just about...?" He asked, "You must have seen it all. Or, er... Be pretty knowledgeable about everything here." He watched her a moment. The Flitter seemed to have settled a little. At least he wasn't going to wind up Flitt stew for Hydeth. More importantly, he wasn't about to fly at Je'kyll's face. He really didn't like the little creatures. They were so small and it was tough to grab them if they did decide to attack. He pushed the thoughts from his mind before they got worse and smiled to cover it up.
"Yes, hopefully. Hydeth and I are hoping to assist in the Thread of course... I can't help but become a little uh... I dunno, excited by it. Destroying thread and fighting for Pern. Decimating the Red Star's spawn before it falls." He spoke passionately and cleared his throat after a moment. I only wish to destroy things Mine. I don't care what they are. As if to demonstrate, she flicked her claws on her Harness as though it happened to be a wild Wher. Oh she could have so much fun here if the recent rumours were anything to go off... [/blockquote]
