How to Bother Healers [Boo, Chek, Raven!]

Tedaon grimaced a little as his hands worked with swiftness, cleaning any blood off the wounds that he could. At least the patient was being somewhat useful in how he was moving. He wasn't tensing up too much or anything causing more bleeding or tearing. In fact, Tedaon doubted he would even be able to move if he'd wanted to. He considered moving the teen to another area but decided against it. Better to keep all the blood to one specific area after all... He wasn't so cruel that he'd make the candidates clean the whole area by themselves again. It was far too much effort. Besides, blood was tough enough to get out of clothes without having to add to that. He would have liked to think these were the only problems with moving the boy but he would have been lying to himself... He was shaking a little at the thought of perhaps losing a patient. He couldn't afford to move him until most of the bleeding had stopped. In all honesty it would be better for the boy to be lying down and he would address that as soon as he thought the boy could move himself. If all else failed he would indeed attempt to carry him.

Tedaon smiled when the candidate stated she would clean the floors for having disturbed his rest. Oh if only more people were willing to do that. If he had a drudge for every time he'd had to re-clean the floors he'd probably be living in some kind of luxury. Not to mention that she seemed somewhat keen on having the boy's shirt off. He almost laughed at that. But he did nod a little and worked to move the shirt with as much caution as he could manage. With the girl applying pressure to the wounds it was certainly somewhat reassuring to him. He managed to remove the shirt and then applied pressure with his stump of an arm.
"When you feel up to moving just nod your head a little. I'm going to try to get you to lie down." He said in a reassuring tone.

If he'd had another person there he might have asked them to grad a pallet of some description. Something to rest the boy on other than the cold floor. There was also the fact that he needed to try to keep things elevated. He would examine the extent of the injuries once there was less blood. As it happened, he was certain the arm was broken from the look of the bruising and the manner in which it was being treated. He'd deal with that after he'd stopped the bleeding of course. Blood was always the most important thing to deal with.

Tedaon allowed the boy to hold onto his shoulders as he got to his feet using Tedaon's shoulders to steady himself. It was rather thankful that this was the case because he'd rather thought the boy was more likely to pass out if he struggled to do it without any assistance. Still that did not stop him pulling an annoyed expression when blood began drenching his shirt.
"Sure... Didn't want this shirt anyway..." He muttered.
Still, he worked to support the boy keeping him as steady as possible.

Tedaon's eyes narrowed when a younger male bustled into his infirmary and began trying to take over the control. Tedaon had everything under control and, although he knew this man as a younger journeyman he didn't quite enjoy the commanding tones the boy had taken with him. He had once been T'aon candidatemaster of Telgar Weyr. The thought left his mind almost instantly for that had been another lifetime entirely... He could have been a master by now if he didn't have other responsibilities. He stopped that train of thought as there were more pressing matters at the moment and he had been planning on asking the girl to do something to assist. He felt it was important to treat all his patients as though they had some control in the situation even when they didn't. That was why he was constantly informing them of what was happening. It tended to calm them but he was able to judge rightly enough who wanted to know what was happening and who didnt.

He noticed the anger that had rather suddenly taken a hold of the young candidate. She was obviously not pleased with the actions of the male who had entered the infirmary. Tedaon was almost certain that the boy was named Lokian... Loki... Lokien or something and he was also rather sure that he was a candidate. The girl asked whether she should clean the floors. He looked over at her. She seemed pretty keen on mopping the floors. She seemed a little embarrassed to say the least.
"We may still need you to assist. So stick around. You can get to work on mopping the floors but if we need you be ready to come over here." He replied in a somewhat distracted manner as he began moving Sagaral towards the pallet.

Now that they had re-established some order and started slathering on numbweed Tedaon felt calm return to him. The wounds were all but clean now and the blood was still flowing but not nearly as fast as it had been. They had cleared it up a little at least which would allow for the more ready placing of bandages. He did not look at his fellow healer when he mentioned that they should move him to the infirmary. They could not, not until he was stabilised. They had already moved him once and doing so again may indeed invoke further injury. He was not willing to risk it until all the bleeding had stopped. They were in a relatively sterile area, well, it was probably even more sterile than the infirmary given that there were often sick patients lying about and they could do more here and now than if they moved the boy. He shook his head a little.
"Better to keep him here, another move and we may be dealing with an unconscious patient." He replied softly so only Lokien could hear.

He didn't want to unnecessarily concern the boy. Certainly, he would tell him to remain awake if he could, as Lokien had done, but he would not actually inform him of the great risks that could accompany it unless he absolutely had to. A part of him thought that, perhaps, the boy knew what may happen if he allowed himself to lapse into the sweet embrace of unconsciousness. A condition that Tedaon himself knew all to well... He nodded a little. Normally, he always wanted to get the blood under control before starting anything to do with breaks. In his training he had been taught that one searched for the injury most likely to cause death, in this case, blood. Seeing as how there were three people covering that aspect he could indeed deal with the break.

There was bruising in the forearm so it was more than likely a fracture of some sort. They would need to splint it most definitely and probably keep it relatively elevated. For the moment he grabbed some bandages and cleaned the arm where there was some blood. Then he bustled off to find a splint. It was more of a rod if anything and would serve to keep it relatively straight especially if wrapped tightly. When he returned he began wrapping with care placing the splint next to the fracture. A few moments later the girl asked something about sewing the flesh. He looked up at her thoughtfully. This was indeed an option. If the bleeding had not subsided this would be the next resort.
"Indeed... You make a reasonable point... If the bleeding does not subside this will be an option." He looked over at the wounds.

It looked like it would be the only option. They would probably need some hissop before starting with that, of course, but it was certainly something to work on. He decided it would be best to consult the other Journeyman for it was not something to be taken lightly.
"I think it should be an option." He stated pointedly, "I would be reluctant to do so without extra numbweed or, indeed, assistance but if the bleeding does not desist with pressure it may be the only option."

Tedaon listened to the comments from the boy for a moment and shrugged. He would not rise to the insults just spoken at him for any further comment on his part would do nothing. They were certainly doing nothing to placate the injured boy on the ground before them through their arguments. The candidate's continued speaking would only serve to upset their patient more. Tedaon preemptively placed a firm hand on the patient's shoulder to prevent him from trying to sit up for he was certain that he may attempt it. With the stitches looking very decent Tedaon said nothing more on the subject of respect. If the boy would not listen to his judgement then there was no point pursuing it further for the satisfaction of getting in the last word. He would speak to the girl after if he could... If only to let her know that she had been doing a decent job.

He assisted the girl in holding the stitches together and worked in silence for the moment pleased that despite the anger emanating from each of them they were working relatively well together. He knew that the boy would leave as soon as he could and probably the girl also. He could remain and watch the patient. Probably the girl would also remain for she still had to clean the floors. The only thing that made Tedaon pleased was the fact that he would probably not have to deal with the boy too much longer. Once he impressed there would be little time for healing. "Nearly done." He spoke quietly to the patient, "Most of them were fairly easy to stitch..."

Of course, this was not necessarily true but he figured it was better than letting him sit there fuming. He would have said something about how the boy was not a master and therefore had no right to treat anyone as an apprentice but it would have just served to spark a debate on how it was merely orders and so on, so forth. He was too tired to go on another tirade and would have possibly if he'd had enough energy. He kept his hand moving deftly with the stitches as each gash was basically repaired.
"I will remain here and watch him." He said after a moment.

Of course, he was basically off duty and hadn't had sleep in a while but he would not force the candidate boy to be in their company if he did not wish to. That was a choice he had to make himself. Besides... The more time he spent awake the less he had to spend asleep and in sleep there were so many uncontrollable variables. Once the stitches were done they could attempt to move him but Tedaon would be reluctant to move him too much for fear of pulling the stitches. They would probably have to drag him...
