{Day after the hatching}
So, he seemed to have taken on more of a task than he had initially thought the previous night. He now had to make friends with candidates which meant being nice to them. Oh he was nice enough to them all right but Atenna, Tasa and himself had made a bet. They had to get to know as many candidates as they could before the next hatching and the one to win would receive… Well, they hadn’t decided on that but Tedaon was willing to bet Bendan wine in the hopes of winning two more bottles but he wasn’t entirely certain just whether or not his two lady friends would have that wine. Thank goodness he had some connections. Healing sure was a useful profession for it.
His plan of attack… He had none. Apart from deliberately causing candidates harm he wasn’t sure how many of them he could easily meet. Perhaps if they were in the Infirmary he could manage it but he wasn’t entirely sure whether he should go around distracting the candidates from their work. Of course, if he did go with injuring candidates he had someone in mind who could probably start fights and wind up losing them enough times to bring the candidates to the Infirmary. Sagaral seemed to be a hot-tempered young lad… If he somehow injured enough candidates…
Tedaon laughed at the ludicrous idea and shook his head, surveying the sands. There seemed to be quite a number of egg shards lying around. Rukbat rose and the light hit each of the fragments making the Sands positively glow. A whole new batch of Weyrlings… It certainly looked good. With around 200 riders and Thread creeping up on them things looked good. If only he could figure out a way to win his bet…
He could always just wander through the candidate barracks and get Sagaral to lie down and pretend to be injured. The only problem was that Sagaral happened to be a Wherling now… The questions asked would be too many… He would have to just volunteer to teach the candidates basic healing skills. Joy. He got to his feet and wandered out to the Weyrbowl spotting some of the other early risers going about their business. He didn’t quite spot anyone he recognised though… Maybe he just wasn’t looking hard enough.
