Fel had no idea what to do with the Flitts now gripping onto her shoulders. She pulled the green from her shoulder and stared at it. She’d decided to call it Moss. Placing it on Dhanuth’s back she smiled at the Black Dragon. He didn’t seem too impressed at having Moss sit on his back, the Flitt sat and lay down. She took Coral, the light Pink, who crooned and tossed her head lightly, showing off her colours. The last Flitt… Was a little stranger… She was larger than the others and seemed to be very… Odd. Fel had decided Mega worked but the Flitt also seemed to need something else to her name. Fel had decided to add the suffix ‘Tron’ thinking it sounded nice. Coral was now sitting on Dhanuth’s head while Megatron slashed her tail angrily. FelMine… I don’t think sitting them on me will do much…
Fel smiled at Dhanuth and shook her head as Coral stretched her neck luxuriously and padded about proudly. But they like you! Look! Your thoughts are frivolous. Fel pouted and folded her arms, Megatron hissing and clambering up her arms to lay around her neck. Well, they’re going to make us stronger. They can get things for you! Dhanuth paused a moment, considering this and nodded a little. That was true enough he supposed. Fel got to her feet happily and made her way out of her room.
She skipped through the corridors, Dhanuth padding quietly behind her. He was rather quiet actually… He usually didn’t speak unless he thought it absolutely necessary. Fel shrugged a little as they reached the Weyrbowl. She took a seat again while Dhanuth stretched himself out. It was getting later, Rukbat low on the horizon. It sure was nice to just sit there and relax even if it was for just a moment.

Impressing a dragon would make life more interesting. Xiro'el had known that right from the day he was Searched. He had not, however, bargained on Impressing to a hyperactive, crazy cyan who was on the hunt not only for adventure, but for more than her fair share of danger. Already he'd had to keep her out of numerous potentially life-threatening situations, including finding out how long she could hold her breath, and leaping off of tall rocks that she was quite frankly not ready to leap off of. While Tigreath was the best thing that had ever happened to him, she was also supremely exasperating.
This was not likely to change. The cyan bounded ahead of her bonded, bugling as loudly as she could. Do you think if I'm loud enough a big dragon will come fight me? That'd be wickedly dangerous! Just as dangerous as touching my mom when I hatched! Mine, everybody will know about it! Trumpeting again, Tigreath stopped her forward progress and bounced on her toes, flapping her oversized wings madly.
Xiro'el heaved a sigh, and grinned at the rampant hatchling. Lakeeti, at his side, was none too thrilled with the dragon's antics; she wasn't that fond of the creature and appeared to think of her as an intruder into her relationship with her master. The canine snorted and glanced up at her owner, her expression telling him everything he needed to know: do we really have to put up with this? Just seeing it made the weyrling grin, and he reached down to scratch his pet's ears affectionately before letting her go.
I see my brother! Tigreath announced suddenly, staring towards one edge of the Bowl. Xiro, puzzled, glanced in the same direction, and froze. Tigs, no! he pleaded, but it was futile. Either missing his command or ignoring it, the little dragon was bouncing off towards her sibling, warbling a greeting. Before she quite reached him, the cyan flung herself into what basically amounted to a somersault, folding her wings tight and flipping herself over. She didn't quite succeed, and ended up flat on her back on the ground, looking dazed. See that, Dhanuth...? I totally just flipped over. Her tone was a bit stunned too, and the cyan took a long moment to roll over onto her belly, still disoriented.
Unable to leave his bonded by herself, the trader drew in a deep breath and set off at a lope after the cyan. Lacky, at his heels, picked up her own pace. As soon as they reached the black weyrlingpair, they slowed in tandem and halted. Xiro let his gaze rest on his sister for a long moment, and then spoke. "Congrats, Fel. For Impressing." There was sincerity there, and there was a lot of it. He was genuinely glad that his sister had Impressed, proud that his little sibling had done what neither of them had ever dreamed of doing. She sure had come a long way... but he couldn't tell her that. Wouldn't tell her, because there was no way she would have forgiven him yet for leaving her. Maybe she never would... and if that was the case, he wouldn't really blame her.
He didn't speak anymore, then -- just slipped his hands into his pockets and stared off across the Bowl, automatically picking out the spot where she'd tripped him. The scar from that was still pink and raw, and it still hurt if he used that hand too much. Didn't matter, though, and he wouldn't remind her. Better not to open more wounds for the both of them, right?

Megatron started lashing her tail agitatedly. Well, more so than she had been previously. Fel wasn’t really paying attention to some of the other things happening but pulled Megatron from her shoulders and held her out. The Pink hissed and scrabbled against her hands. “Megatron! You be good now or I will feed you to Dhanuth.” Fel threatened. She would never do such a thing but the threat of being fed to a Dragon seemed to calm the Flitt a little and she calmed down. Fel pursed her lips and placed Megatron back on her shoulder.
Dhanuth, meanwhile, was not paying attention to His. While Fel had been taking care of her Flitt he had been watching his Cyan Sister with some amusement. Silly creature. Well, he would have to be strong for her and show her how it was done. He puffed his chest out a little and kept an eye on his sister while she flipped over and landed on her back. I did see. Dhanuth replied slowly, You are not hurt, are you Tigreath?
At the thoughts from her Dragon Fel looked up and frowned. Each of the Pink Flitts, sensing her emotions, hissed loudly. Moss just took to running up and down Dhanuth’s back and then jumped off to a running landing and then ran back up the Dragon’s tail. The oddities of Moss calmed Fel’s emotions a little as she gazed at Xiro. Sharding Wherry egg shards Xiro. Dhanuth turned to gaze at her with some interest. You do not like your brother. Yes. This I noticed. He hurt you. Yes he did. And he never even apologised for it! Not all of it. You never told him what he did. Fel started and tore her eyes from Xiro's approach to look at Dhanuth. Well… I couldn’t. I just couldn’t.
The words from Xiro’s mouth couldn’t hurt more. Dhanuth was strong but he would never be as large as the Cyan. If Xiro wanted to hurt her again… Tigreath could probably accomplish it. That was not what hurt about them. What hurt was the care in his tone. Fel hesitated for a second. “Thanks. You too.” She replied shortly.
Megatron didn’t seem to like the development and hissed again, flinging herself towards the other Weyrling pair, landing on the ground and running about in a circle like a Flitt possessed, hissing and snapping her tiny jaws. Coral and Moss simply observed their sister as though she was quite insane. Coral could not contain hisses of her own.

Dazed and unable to think straight (was she ever?), Tigreath chirped at her brother and lifted herself into a sitting position, mantling out her wings as if this would somehow help her regain her wits. No, I'm okay, she assured him, and glanced over herself, head tilting slightly. There was dirt smudged all down her back, and her shoulders kind of hurt from whacking them on the ground, but she wasn't really in that much pain. Mostly she was just confused, though her mind was slowly unfogging as she sat there.
Feeling the dull ache of his dragon in his own shoulders, Xiro shrugged once or twice, as if that would help alleviate the sensation. He still wasn't quite used to being able to feel everything his dragon did, but the aching was definitely the weirdest. At least she wasn't seriously hurt, though -- he could tell that just by looking at her, and touching her mind with his own. She'd be back to normal in a few minutes, so he decided to enjoy the respite... as much as he could, considering that he was standing near the little sister who hated him.
The hesitation in her tone said everything, and then some. Biting the inside of his cheek uncomfortably, Xiro glanced away, flicking his gaze back to Fel only when she spoke. "Yeah... thanks," he answered quietly. Cautiously, too -- he didn't want to make her angry. He'd learned what she could do to him when she was upset and he had no desire to let her hurt him some more. Wouldn't be difficult for her -- she knew all the right words to say, if she wanted to speak them. She, unlike anyone else in the Weyr, knew exactly what he'd done to her, if not why.
But maybe that wasn't her intention, at the moment. The flits, though... where had she even gotten them? They were babies, still, certainly nowhere near being full grown, and Xiro'el stared at them in amazement for a moment. "Where did you get the firelizards?" he asked suddenly, and then stepped back as one of them, a dull pink, lunged toward him and started hissing, darting in mad circles. Lacky growled; he shushed her with a wave of the hand and eyed the trio of glaring flits, lifting a brow slightly. Fel definitely hadn't had them on the day they'd been reunited. "What are their names...?" The trader's tone indicated that he was hesitant to ask; he still didn't look at his sister, alternating instead between eyeing the flits, studying Dhanuth, and glancing out across the Bowl. Scorch it, he hadn't meant to run into them today.. and then Tigreath had decided that she just had to say hello to her brother. Sharding dragon.

Fel frowned down at Megatron. The Pink didn’t really seem all that concerned with anyone, she was simply acting rather insane. Eventually the Flitt calmed and lay where she was, tail lashing the ground agitatedly. Fel wondered whether the rage the Flitt seemed to have been possessed by was due to her brother or simply because it was rather… Well, insane. She pulled her legs to her chest as Coral and Moss calmed down and began playing with one another. I am glad. Dhanuth replied to Tigreath, You chose well, sister.
Fel grumbled to herself a little at that but did not say anything. She kept her eyes on Xiro now that the Firelizards had calmed themselves and then wrapped her arms around her legs, making herself as small as possible. Even though Dhanuth’s emotions were rather happy and calm her own sadness and anger mixed with his emotions making the pair rather… Well, miserable looking. Fel more than Dhanuth, certainly, but the Black Dragonling had sat down and curled his tail around his body in a somewhat protective manner.
Fel frowned at the question. So she wasn’t good enough to have a pet!? They had impressed at the same hatching had they not? Calm yourself. You will speak with him. He has not harmed you. Yet. Fel replied coldly. “They found me… By the lake. This is Coral, Moss and Megatron.” She replied failing to keep the bitterness from her tone. She pointed to each of the Firelizards as she spoke and at the mentioning of her name Megatron started up again. She jumped to her feet and sprinted back towards Dhanuth and Fel, growling in an almost rabid way. She clambered over to Dhanuth and climbed up his leg, hissing and spitting before falling down again on his head.
Fel watched the creature with wide eyes, momentarily distracted from Xiro. She would probably have to get that one checked out. Moss and Coral looked at one another and then back at Megatron. How in the world were they related to that Flitt. Moss seemed to chirrup a happy response and then pounce on Coral. Their actions served to distract Fel from her brother. You should tell him. One day. Not today. Fel subconsciously held her leg closer to her. It did not hurt her. Much. It was not worth telling him her weakness. If ever something happened… Hitting her leg with something would make her fall. She would never be as strong or as fast as him. And it was because of her brother…

Slowly recovering from her collision with the ground, Tigreath offered a cheery warble when her brother complimented Hers, and fanned out her wings, flapping them lazily in a manner that suggested she was just seeing if her limbs still worked. I know! Mine is totally awesome! I like Yours too. She seems like a nice Mine. She chirped, although she glanced towards her own bonded in a manner that suggested she didn't quite understand why he was so uncomfortable. He hadn't let her into many of his memories yet, and none that included Fel. Answering the thousand and one questions of an inquisitive cyan was not something he wanted to do yet.
Fully aware of his sister's gaze on him, Xiro didn't look at her. He wasn't sure why, because he wasn't afraid, precisely... he just didn't want to see the loathing that was probably written all over her face. They'd been close, once. So close, in fact, that he'd joked that together they made a whole person, a XiroFel. He wondered if she remembered that, and if she hated him for leaving her when he'd said, turns back, that he never could. Back then, he hadn't known that he was lying. Neither of them had.
Reaching down to touch Lakeeti's scruff, perhaps in the hopes of getting some kind of courage from the contact, the trader glanced over at his sister. There was no mistaking the bitterness in Fel's tone... but it shouldn't have been there. Not when she was just telling him what her flits were called. Xiro'el forced himself to stare at his younger sibling, expression inscrutable. "I've never heard of wild flits suddenly hatching in the Weyr... but I guess I haven't been here much longer than you." He paused for a moment, and then cracked a wan smile. "Megatron seems a bit... interesting." That was putting it mildly. Fel looked as confused at the pink's behaviour as Xiro himself did.
Though he was still watching the two firelizards that weren't insane, the weyrling noticed his sister's subtle movement as she drew her leg up closer to herself. It was the same one, he recalled, that she'd been so dramatically favouring on the day of the race. He regarded the blackrider for a long moment, and then shifted to face her, unconsciously squaring himself up as if to ward off any impending attacks. "You weren't faking it entirely that day." It wasn't a question. Xiro could read his sister better than anyone -- it was he, after all, who had taught her much of what she knew about acting. It was why they'd been such a good team, once. "What happened to you?" No fear, no uncertainty, edged his tone now. There was only genuine concern there, faintly echoing in the trader's otherwise smooth voice.

Dhanuth inclined his head to Tigreath in gratitude. He dropped to his stomach and rested his head on the ground, watching the Cyan and Hers with some interest. FelHis’ emotions were so mixed at that moment that he did not want to say too much any more. Things were certainly very interesting. He had the feeling that FelHis, being rather young, did not quite know how to keep things from him. Her mind was like a drawing in the hatching sands. He could look at any part and never be prevented. She had, however, kept her small injury from him for a short while.
Fel looked down at Megatron at Xiro’s words. She was now flinging herself in every which way as though trying to lunge at something. She suddenly settled down and lay on her side, panting slightly. Fel looked back at Xiro and forced something of a smile. It was perhaps the first time she had actually smiled at him and yet she hid it with her legs, resting her cheek on her knees and turning her face from him. The next question, however, forced the smile from her face almost instantly.
They had once been so close that they might as well have been the same person. The memory came flooding back into her mind at that. She kept her face averted from him. Can you not be happy that you are together now.
Fel did not answer but she couldn’t help but realise that Dhanuth was right. Once bitten, twice shy though. She was absolutely terrified that if she let him back into her life, that if she forgave him he would leave her again. He had a Dragon now. It would be merely a moment before he could be out of her life again. They had both replaced the other. I can’t tell him. I can never tell him. You must. I won’t! FelMine… Be strong. “I’M NOT!!” She shouted aloud, and looked at Dhanuth sadly, “I’m not strong. You keep telling me to be strong, that I am strong but I’m not and it’s because…” She trailed off, glancing momentarily at Xiro before turning her face away. She could feel the tears coming again. Her voice had quavered and fallen. She didn’t want to cry. She desperately wanted to be strong.
Dhanuth had fallen silent, then turned his gaze on Xiro. Mine blames you. Dhanuth said quietly, For her injury. Please. Don’t tell him… You tell him then or I will.
Silence fell for a moment longer. “Because… I kept hearing you… Every night I would run from the caravan and wait for you. You never came.” She was looking at the sky now, keeping her tears in, “And then I fell. My knee was dislocated. You know that they don’t have good healers in the caravan. By the time they realised that they had set it wrong…” She refused to finish. It was said. Done. That was it.

For some reason, that little smile, before Fel hid it, made Xiro's heart leap. It had been so long since he'd seen her smile at all, except for that cruel smirk when she'd tripped him. That hardly counted... but this was real. Not big, not all that friendly, but real. A ripple of gladness for that fleeting expression warmed him, but the trader didn't quite allow himself to smile too. Nothing was fixed yet. Maybe nothing would ever be fixed between them. He knew he'd hurt her badly when he left, and for all he knew the wounds were deep enough that she'd never forgive him even if or when they healed.
Miiiine? Tigreath offered a small warble to Hers, drawing his attention immediately from his sister. The cyan still looked a bit dazed, but she was coming back to her senses, rising to her feet and stumbling in his general direction. A smile softened the teenager's countenance, and he crouched to scratch the dragon under the chin. Okay now? he inquired, and she chirped. Yeah. My back hurts. But wasn't that cool!? I bet it was super dangerous.
Trying not to laugh, Xiro'el smiled and rubbed his hand along the spindly neck before springing to his feet and glancing Fel's way with wide, startled green eyes. The sudden shout had obviously caught him by surprise, activating the traderborn instincts that he'd been none too keen to suppress. He didn't exactly relax, either, hearing the words that came after, but his expression softened slightly. Still, the trader said nothing. He didn't need to, he thought -- she'd probably think he was being patronizing, and maybe she'd be right. Either way, he stayed silent.
That is, he stayed silent until an unfamiliar masculine voice made itself known in his head, and his gaze snapped immediately to Dhanuth. It wasn't the voice so much as the words that made him hesitate, though, and Xiro'el bit his lip. Still he remained silent, wondering what either half of the blackpair might say next. It looked like they were conversing...
And then they weren't anymore, and Fel was speaking. Instantly Xiro's attention was riveted on her, listening to her tale unfold. His expression didn't change until she stopped talking, every feature held carefully in place to keep his sister from reading him as easily as he could read her. Maybe it was unfair to do so, but he couldn't bear to let her see what he was feeling. Guilt, was it? Yeah, there was a lot of that. And anger, too, an unconscionable irritation with her for what she'd done to him, and for what he'd done to her.
"You knew I wasn't coming back." His voice wasn't hard, precisely, but there was an edge to it. Did he blame her for what had happened to her? Did he blame himself? He didn't know. "Why would you look for me? Even if I'd wanted to come back," he gritted his teeth, "I couldn't have. The bosses would have killed me. You know that people don't leave the caravan and come crawling back to it on a whim." He hesitated, guilt warring with anger in his eyes, before bursting out, "I'm sorry! But I don't regret what I did -- any of it! It isn't my fault that you fell." Xiro'el hesitated, and then the anger dissipated from his face, being replaced with a sort of gentle pity. "I'm sorry," he repeated again, "I am. That you hurt your leg. And that I hurt you." Sorry wasn't enough, but what else could he say? It would be a lie to say that he hadn't loved living on his own. That had been the best Turn of his life, and he didn't regret a bit of it. But that he'd hurt his sister... yeah, he was sorry about that. But nothing else. Absolutely nothing else.

Fel had finished speaking and glared at her brother while he responded to her words. She knew that! She knew all of that but she had hoped. She had always hoped he would return. She hadn’t held the tears back well and they flowed freely. Mine… Please. He is not to blame. And who is to blame!? Me? For being so stupid to think that my brother would come back. That he actually cared!? Dhanuth fell silent and looked sadly at Xiro’el. He had a good heart… He just said some stupid things. Dhanuth knew His was silly sometimes but, for the most part, she was incredibly strong. Not physically as she seemed to think but she was strong in her mind. She just needed to get over the sadness she felt when thinking about her brother. The boy didn’t seem to be doing much to help her out… Dhanuth watched, feeling the rage in Fel rise. He quietly observed as the two Pink firelizards started chirping angrily. The Green seemed perfectly happy to wander about but the other two… Well, they were reflecting the anger he was keeping in.
“Do you know why I did that!? I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD! That was the only way I could think otherwise!!” Fel was on her feet now, hands clenched at her sides. She was quite hysterical. The pink firelizards screeched and Megatron flung herself at Xiro digging her tiny claws into his chest hissing and chattering creepily as she clawed whatever she could reach. She was shortly joined by Coral and the two of them had a mighty fun time scratching at the boy.
“No! STOP! Stopstopstop!” Fel screamed at the firelizards. She wanted to leave! Get away from him! Causing him pain was foolish and she was being stupid. She needed to be mature, serious and strong and this was not the way. She picked Dhanuth up and cradled him in her arms… He was small but then, so was she. The two pink firelizards jumped off her brother and charged after her. Moss looked about, saw she was alone and chirped happily at the Cyan and her Weyrling before joining Hers.
I am sorry… Dhanuth said sadly to his sister and Hers, peering over Fel’s shoulder. At least he had convinced her to leave. Maybe he would be able to fix this. She didn’t know it but much of the strength he had seen in her had come from her brother. From the love they’d once had and, deep down, still had.
(ooc: Permission gained to have firelizards attack Xiro ^^ they're just like kitten scratches or something)

As easily as he could control his tongue when speaking with other people, Xiro'el found that it was not such a simple task with Fel. It wasn't out of a desire to deceive her, either -- quite the opposite. And that was precisely why she was now screaming at him. The words made him bristle, rising up in self-defense. "You know I can take care of myself, Fel! You shouldn't have---"
Worried, was what he was going to say, but the arrival of a firelizard on his chest cut him off. With a startled grunt, Xiro tried to pry the little monster's claws out of his skin, only to have a second flit attack him. Hissing in pain as they both scrabbled at his chest, he attempted to fend them off, at the same time trying not to hurt them. Fel would not be pleased if he accidentally injured her pets... not that she was already.
Concerned about Hers, Tigreath roared and rose onto her hind legs, snapping at the flits before they soared away. Growling, the cyan snapped her jaws and twined herself around her bonded's legs, glaring at the two pinks before looking to Dhanuth. They scratched Mine! she protested, misinterpreting the apology completely. Still, she stopped paying attention to him and twined herself around Xiro's legs, ignoring Lacky, who was forced to move aside in order to make room for her. The hound wasn't pleased, but she tolerated this with displeasure.
The cyan weyrling offered Dhanuth a wry smile, and shook his head, turning away from the pair. There was nothing more to be done here, and he too strode away, waving his dog and his dragon after him.
