((Continuing on from the main Gather thread with a response to Raksha's greeting))
Fel turned and looked at the sound of a voice greeting her. Well, yes that was exactly what they should be doing at a Gather! Meeting people and greeting those they didn't necessarily know. Why she rather liked the thought of becoming acquainted with those she might not necessarily see in the Weyr. She smiled with rather an obvious amount of excitement and nodded. This person and herself were clearly like-minded. That was promising indeed.
"Yes! I do think it's important to meet people at Gathers, Raksha." She repeated the name so she would remember it, "Why, it's a waste of a day if we don't spend time at least talking with people! I've only been to a couple and then as a trader... Well, sort of. I was never really allowed inside where all the people were." If you go shopping, do not spend too much. Don't worry, I won't!
Except she would. What use was being at a Gather if she didn't spend her money! If she earned her money she was perfectly entitled to spend it on something she really, really wanted. Or something she just thought looked really interesting. Well, now she had someone to go shopping with! Maybe they could buy some clothes so that at the next feast everyone would stare at them! "I'm Fel! I would love to go shopping with you! It would be so much fun. Thank you for inviting me."
Normally she might have been a little more hesitant at accepting the invite but she had been feeling a lot happier now that she was at the Gather. Things seemed to be getting better especially after the sadness of the fire. Even with Thread coming along things were settling down a little. Still, every time she thought of the fire she felt a pang of sadness for her lost friend, Osro. Fel forced the thought from her mind, determined to be happy at this moment of festivities.

She’d found someone who seemed to want to be her friend, which was great! The girl looked to be not too much younger than her. ”You were a trader? Oh, you must have a ton of stories to tell! I’d love to hear them sometime.” Truth was she’d love to hear them now, but she wouldn’t force them out of the girl. They’d only just met; after all, there was plenty of time for stories later! ”I’d really hate to waste a day. Time is so precious,” she said, sounding far away as she said this. There wasn’t much by way of silence afterwards, because Raksha was soon talking up a storm again. "I'm sure we'll find lots of stuff that we like. I have some marks, I definitely wouldn't mind sharing them with you. What are friends for, right?" They had shared interests already since Fel liked meeting new people too! They could meet more people together! Everything was more fun in pairs, wasn’t it?
”Nice to meet you Fel. It’s not a problem, really! I’m just glad you accepted.” Raksha chuckled softly, nothing but pure warmth in her smile. ”Let’s go.” She really wasn’t one for wasting time. There was so much to see after all. She grabbed the other girls hand to get her to follow her, letting go once she thought that Fel had caught on. Raksha lead the black weyrlingrider through the crowd of people that were conversing, out to where the booths were stationed. Raksha looked this way and that, her left arm hanging at her side while her right hand was raised to her mouth, a finger resting over her lips. Which way first? she wondered. It was a booth that had a few what appeared to be finely made dresses out front that caught her attention.
”Over there,” she announced, moving her finger from her lips to point in the direction that she was looking. She had a near skip to her step, clearly excited. She wasn’t hanging out with a boy for once, so she didn’t have to worry about being accused of behaving in a girly-manner. She could look at dresses, and jewellery, and just enjoy the fact that she was a girl. She was known for behaving like a tomboy, and usually she did, but everyone had their days when they had to mix it up a little. Today was that day, and she couldn’t be happier about it.
She reached out her hand, running it over the smooth material of the hanging dress. It was so beautiful... The color was like some of the cyan’s she’d seen, bright and vibrant. ”It’s really nice,” she spoke her opinion out loud, not seeming to have noticed that the maker of the dress was watching her curiously. ”What do you think Fel?” she asked, turning to look behind her. The color was solid, and likely the dress was a bit more form-fitting than either one of them were used to. Raksha didn’t know how short it would be, but even so she was itching to try it on. Oh, if only they could!

Although they had never met Fel already felt at ease with the other female. Sometimes there were people who just seemed to be easily friendly. Raksha appeared to be one of those people. Well, at least shopping would distract her from her impending duties. Fel liked meeting new people to be sure but tended to prefer when others approached her, which Raksha had already done. So already Raksha had Fel’s good opinion. Not that Fel’s opinion was difficult to gain more that it was difficult to maintain. Especially when there were a few whom had left her behind…
“Yes, but I don’t know whether any of my stories are all that interesting,” Fel replied thoughtfully, following the other female. Although she supposed she had some good stories to tell she could never quite figure out which stories would interest others. Most of the stories she thought were boring were actually really interesting to other people simply because it had happened between Holds.
Raksha was already moving off towards the markets and Fel happily followed having been intending to visit the markets and spend some of her marks. She only had a few but they were enough to buy at least a couple of items. Maybe she would be able to find some Herders! That would be wonderful if she could purchase a puppy or something equally adorable.
Raksha’s eye had been taken by a dress. Fel rather thought it did look rather lovely it just reminded her of Tigreath. Although it was a little brighter than the cyan weyrling. Fel nodded and smiled at Raksha. “I think it would really bring out your eyes! No one would be able to walk past you if you wore this!”
Very nice. “Dhanuth thinks so too!”
