The day was a wonderous one, and well past. It was mid-afternoon before R'ish stirred, lazily opening his eyes and stretching as a particularly content feline would. Cream hair was touseled and messy, the strip of color--a strange blue-green shade--split in several pieces as it fanned over his face. Yawning, the young man brushed his hair back, running his fingers through it slowly. It was soft on his fingers, and he noted with bleary attention that...it felt...more noticeable than usual. Absently he lifted his hand to inspect it, shifting a bit beneath his furs. Everything...felt infinitely more sensitive than usual. It took a heartbeat for everything to sink in, and with a subtle widening of his eyes, the rider sat up, and abruptly elbowed the prone form beside him.
Almost immediately in time with his rush, Gyth lifted her own head slowly, blinking her eyes sleepily before--with a wide yawn--she began to move. Gracefully, with more elegance than the sweetheart usually displayed, she rose to all fours, stretching with purposeful slowness. One leg was stretched fully out...then another...and a back leg...and the other back leg. Her neck was elongated, arching delicately in time with the lifted flick of her tail and the deliberate stretching of both rich wings. R'ish watched with rising anticipation, having realized and recognized the signs not only days before, but immediately upon her waking.
Her hide--that rich dark pink--was positively gleaming, glowing in its stunning beauty. Already a blindingly deep color, it seemed infinitely deeper now, a strong-as-wine shade that demanded attention and drew in the eye as keenly as any metallic could. Her rider marveled in her beauty, beauty that sweet Gyth felt so confident in this morning. Carefully, she stepped to her ledge, taking in a deep breath of the day. It was unusually crisp for a summer afternoon, but it was an addictive sort of weather. Like fresh mint, it filled her lungs and the lungs of her Mine, sending icy fire down their throats. Gyth revelled in it, her eyes beginning to whirl. A shade more purple than her hide began to spin into her stare, filling the liquid pools slowly, until the bright lavender shade--paler than violet but with tinges of the richer color--touched every inch of those glassy orbs. Faster and faster they began to whirl, the eagerness of the day and the urge to soar creeping up her claws until it was coursing through her veins as quick and heart-poundingly as a river rapid making its way off a clifface.
Fly, sweetness.
Gyth needed no further encouragement. Faster even than a Green, she leapt off of her ledge, legs and wings tucked tightly against her body as she immediately...dropped. Far closer to the ground than Gyth would dare with Hers upon her shoulders, she snapped her wings open, displaying a higher level of flexibility and agility than would be expected of the small creature as she spun herself, and shot into the air. The Pink glided over the weyrbowl oddly slowly, soaring with delicate grace as she made her way towards the herdbeasts. Before she dipped down, however, she lifted her head and bugled--a loud, sweet tune as melodius as R'ish's lute--telling the world of her joy, her need, and her want. Today was Her day! Her day to soar!
Her eyes whirled with eager mirth as she spiraled down, landing with the careful tap of a playful cat on the back of one of the herbeasts. Her weight crushed it immediately, bones breaking and skin bursting as it cried out, but Gyth seemed oblivious to its pained, brutal cries as she delicately leaned down and lapped up the blood oozing out of its open gut. The taste was sweet and hot in her mouth, as addictive as air as it sizzled on her tongue and down her throat. Delicately, she licked up as much of the living blood as she wanted, almost reluctantly turning her attention to the shuddering rib cage as the animal--clinging to life--sucked in breath with laborious terror. She blinked, a sweet expression, and a clawed paw lifted, resting on the flesh above the animal's heart. She pressed her weight all on that one foot, using it to lift off and into the air.
The herdbeast was left flattened and mauled, its eyes wide with death as its heart was left crushed and barely recognizable as anything more than a bloody mass. Its fate was shared by three others, her incredibly brutal manner of blooding leaving the herdbeasts panicked and stampeding in a mad circle around their enclosure--continuously fueled on by the cries of fallen comrades. The last, however, was saved such a horrid death, as the Pink wheeled on it from the ground, jaws sinking into its neck and wrenching in violently to the side. Neck broken and head partially removed from the body, it was dead before it hit the ground, and would bleed out alone, a quick lick at its open throat all the dragon wanted.
In the eyes of R'ish--dressed and standing at the ledge of their weyr, staring out across the lands with a stare as eagerly patient as his dragons--she took to the skies again, bugling her demands to the air. She was no Queen! She was no Sub-Queen! But she was here, and she could outfly any of them! Would no one come to take her challenge?

Both sides are right but both sides murder.
Gyth flies. The statement was said by no enamored male, eager to fly, but rather by a sweet yellow who hurriedly turned away as soon as her friend set about mauling herdbeasts. Her rider, sleeping away and lazing in his furs, hurriedly sat up. Where was R'ish? In his own weyr. Right. Of course, then of all times, he had to be way over there. He was going over there. Rolling out of bed, P'nay let out an oomph of protest. He grabbed a loose shirt and pulled it over his head. Sure, flights were a part of Weyr life, and, sure, he could not go over and interfere, but what would the fun be in that? He was fairly certain that he was R'ish's, which he was pretty sure made R'ish his. Humming to himself, which caused Carol to mysteriously appear and offer a raucous solo he ignored, P'nay ambled out of his weyr in a sleepily, cheerfully intent manner.
Off across the bowl he went. Someway halfway to where he wanted to go, he started to try to wipe sleep from his eyes. He had been having a very restful nap, after many nights without much sleep as of late. He ignored the guttural sounds of dying herdbeasts as he went on past. It was a normal enough sound for the Weyr. It wasn't likely to bother anyone but the poor, skittish candidates. Up he went, to R'ish's weyr, before anyone else. It was a familiar path, a happy path. He returned to his humming, since Carol was no longer in any proximity to him. He kept it up for a while, until he reached the doorway of the weyr. There he shut up, and then he stretched again, raising his hands over his head and arching his back. After that, one of his classic grins split across his face and he loped forward like a very odd, charming wildebeest.
Unlike any other with some sense that might come, because he was special and didn't have a wink of sense to him, P'nay fearlessly approached the pinkrider, without even dragon fueled lust coursing in his mind. He slowed a few steps before the other man and then draped his arms over R'ish's shoulders affectionately, stoutly refusing the idea of giving him any space. It was comfortable and easy to accept, the idea that he could get R'ish first, flight or not. It was all relationshipy and shiny. A flight, how exciting! He contained the urge. Flight, flight, that was why he had come. Couldn't change who he was, no matter what. "Hello;" he cooed in greeting, grin turning devilish. He looked out from the ledge, to the rising form of Gyth. She did look pretty. Distantly, Annith agreed, though she took no true part in any of the affairs. His smiled turned fond.
Elsewhere, a purple watched the preparing pink, and then he launched himself after her as she took off. Kerath heard her bugle, and then tipped his head back to answer her in a ringing cry of his own. Not a single pink in the entire Weyr was as pretty as her as she was! Only one green perhaps could match her! Even Kalith and Callistath only had a different sort of beauty on her. The beauty that the soaring pink had was entirely his own. Caught up in the moment, a new chance to prove himself after his last defeat, and the ever present fun and joking that a good flight offered, he bugled out little praises to her, one loud cry and then another, filling up the air with his throaty voice.
In her wake, he rose, and he surged after her, beats of his great wings strong and his body well matched her. He was swift and strong, in body and in mind, and she was nimble but strong enough in spirit. What fun she would be to chase! It was a dreamy game to him, a great joke. Couldn't she see it? It was just beyond his grasp, but it lay right there, where she could take it! The joke of it was no insult to her on his part. He laid himself on the line, flying after her with an artful fury and intensity, but he did it with a benevolent joy. One more time, another of many, he tipped his head back and let loose a trumpet for her. That day, he flew for her! Wasn't it a wonderful thing?
W'al wavered over towards R'ish's weyr, but focused enough to see P'nay and the pinkrider. He stopped outside of the actual space and simply watched them, a grin that only half had to do with the shared exhilaration of a good flight dragging out across his face. Both of them were good fellows. He wasn't going to interfere. He leaned against the wall, heart pounding as he closed his eyes to wait out the game that was being played in the sky with Gyth and his dragon and perhaps a few others to come. Maybe one of them would be interested in leaving R'ish and P'nay in peace with him. Or he could go hunt down someone. Who could he go hunt down? Faranth, it had been a long time. Thoughts jumbled up in his head. Thinking wasn't exactly the task on his mind. C'elin? His eyes flew open at the thought. Of everyone, the greenweyrling. His greenweyrling. Never. No. He'd never thought that. His heart pounded faster. Kerath flew higher for Gyth.

Out on a random beach far, far away from Dalibor Weyr, M'kiru lay out in the sand. Just to clear it up, he was wearing a shirt. He was also laying with his hands behind his head and his eyes closed, dozing off in the warmth of the sun. Thauth was curled up much like a cat off in a patch of shade, disliking how easily his dark hide soaked in the sunlight. M'kiru was glad for today and how easy it was, and was perfectly content to doze off into an easy sleep, laying in the Sand. No one was going to disturb him this time... especially because he was fully clothed and not half-naked.
Gyth flies, [/i] Thauth's voice swirled into M'kiru's half-asleep mind, and he sat up, rubbing his eyes sleepily. What...? What's a Gyth? he muttered, looking back at the spot where Thauth had been, only to see that his troublemaking Black was no longer there. He heard the dragon laugh in his mind, I am going to fly her and you are not going to stop me,[/i] he said defiantly, and M'kiru finally understood, his eyes snapping open. No! No way! You are not flying a dragon from Dalibor! he commanded, a very annoyed look on his face. Thauth just laughed again. You can't stop me. You can't even leave that island, miiiine![/i] the Black teased, She bloods so violently and wonderful, how could I not chase her?[/i] he crooned. If he was being serious or just trying to make M'kiru even angrier, the blond didn't know, nor did he care. But there wasn't anything he could do, was there? Rather than trying to find the nearest human being, M'kiru stayed firmly seated in the Sand, pulled his knees close, rested his arms on them and then laid his head on his arms, staring out at the ocean. Sharding dragon! Wherrybrained dragon! They were going to know he wasn't from Dalibor! She'd probably attack him! Why had he decided to go after a sharding Pink from sharding Dalibor?! Faranth! M'kiru continued to curse bitterly in his mind as he stared at the ocean, trying to push the dragon's flight to the back of his mind... but, unfortunately, that was impossible. Thauth had never gone to chase anyone before, so the new emotions were startling and felt unnatural. Indeed, it was Thauth's first time flying, but he wasn't going to let that show. He was experienced in his mind, and he could easily delude himself into thinking that he'd won countless flights before. Besides, he was a large Black and his wings were ridiculous in comparison to his body, so he was quite agile in the air. After watching her blood off from the sidelines (there were so many Blacks in this Weyr that he wasn't out of place at all, even with his slightly lighter coloring) he took off after her, large and powerful wings easily catching and updraft and following the Pink as close as he figured he could get without being snapped at. A Purple was flying too, he noticed, but Thauth did not care. Gyth was beautiful, and she was going to be his. He could feel it. He crooned, though it was better described as a wolf-whistle as he followed her. Any female that could completely flatten three herdbeasts like that was definitely his kind of female.[/blockquote][/size] |

It was a lovely day, or so Mikidith had deemed it so. The sun was very bright, barely a cloud in the sky, and the water looked like little diamonds were floating across its surface. Mikidith, being a good size Brown, has taken it upon himself to go out and sunbath along the shore of the Weyrlake, to enjoy the rays of sunlight and one of the possibly last warm days of the fall. Winter was approaching, and Mikidith was not looking forward to the cold winters. But, at least his Rider was always willing to curl up next to him. Mikdith often joked enough to Lio that his Mine only used the dragon for a heat source during the winter. Lio would simply joke and agree that was part of the reason, but he also reminded the large dragon of the many times they would sleep on the floor together while the Brown had been little all the way up till Mikidith had reached his full height. Mikdith was grateful that the man still slept next to him, a sign of their bond sticking through time, but could always pry into his Mine`s mind and discover many things. Since R`ish, since P`nay, Lio had not been able to find anyone else to seek some pleasure from. The man had become somewhat of a recluse. Mikdith did not understand why. Lio would not tell him.
While Mikdith was sunbathing out on the Weyr lake, Lio had decided this would be a good time to get some lunch. He had just finished bathing from his usual morning routine of exercising, doing several versions of earth`s sit-ups, push-ups, and crunches. Ever since he had been chosen to be a Wingsecond to a Wing, Lio felt the need to keep up with his exercise routines and increase them. He had to be strong and fit, able to show his worthiness in being a Wingsecond, and often ragged on Mikidith for not exercising enough. But Lio was not too worried, though. He believed through a lot of wing drills, they would become perfect Rider and dragon pair in the fight against Thread when it came. Also, he wanted others to become perfect too. His greatest fear in the up coming battle against Thread was losing wing members. That would be a sad day if it would happen. But Mikdith had assured them that their Wingleader was a fine Rider and dragon, and letting his wing slip through would be something against their nature. Lio had simply laughed. They had barely met their Wingleader and Mikdith was already praising their names. But, that was Mikdith for you. Always sweet and lovable, rarely ever saying anything mean.
A call echoed through the Weyr, a call that both Mikdith and Lio heard. Both raised their heads toward the sky, looking for who was calling out their mating challenge. Miki? Lio asked, touching his mind to the dragon`s mind. There was a momentary silence before the Brown moved from his spot and took to the air. Let me see who it is, Mikdith told his Rider, flying over to where he heard the calls. He caught sight of something bright. Very bright. He head and eyes turned to see which dragon was rising. The colors in his eyes changed from green to a light purple as he caught sight of who it had been. It was the lovely Gyth, the beautiful Pink, the dragon of the Rider that Lio cared deeply for in his heart. Instantly, Mikdith`s dragon heartstrings were pulled. Memories of Annith`s Flight flooded his mind. He had lost that Flight, but surely he would not lose this Flight. He liked Gyth and Annith both. Both were wonderful dragons, worthy dragons to grace the skies. Mine, it is Gyth. I am chasing. I will not lose this time. I do not know... if I... the Brown sounded sad while also determined at the same time. Lio understood. Then Chase, my friend! Everything will be okay, the Rider said.
The words drove Mikdith to the edge. Yes, he would Chase her. Fly after her. No one deserved such a beautiful dragon. Mikdith cared nothing for Queen dragons, something he had proven to his Rider when Kalith Rose. He cared for Annith and Gyth. He had only chased Alizadehth because he had felt hurt and betrayed from Annith`s Flight. But Gyth`s Flight was a chance to prove himself on many levels, to prove that he was a worthy mate, to prove he was a mighty dragon, to prove his care for her, to prove how beautiful and gorgeous she was. He bugled after her and glided in the air as the lovely Pink Gyth blooded her kills. She was fierce and not merciless in her kills as she stepped on her kills, flattening them, ending their heartbeats and taking their last breaths. She was beautiful, no word could describe her. Pern had known that she was going to Rise today. Why else had it set aside such a beautiful and lovely day such as this for none other than Gyth. Mikdith should have prepared more to have shown he love and devotion for her. But, he could only hope that his times spent with Gyth would mean something to her. And, maybe, by chance, Lio`s time with R`ish would mean something. Lio need someone to pull him out of this passive depression that he had fallen into.
Lio quickly made his way toward R`ish`s weyr. It had been a while since he had last visited the PinkRider. He had been half-way to the dining halls, but this was a welcoming detour, or so Lio hoped. He felt his heart and mind being tugged with Mikidith`s Flightlust. But, he still held onto some consciousness as the dragon waited for Gyth to finish her kills. He had distanced himself from R`ish and P`nay as of recently. The two Riders had been passionate people, but Lio had always felt like a third wheel among them. He had simply desired to join them, but his flame compared to their had always felt weak. P`nay and R`ish, two being that were meant to be, why was Lio heading in their direction? He tried to stop his feet, to head back to his weyr, let Flightlust fill him and end in his weyr, in solitude, in loneliness. But, no matter how much he tried to stop, his feet kept him going, and more quickly every time he fought his. There was no smile on his face as he made it to R`ish`s weyr. He tried to hide that fact. I am just not worth it, the man thought.
Mikdith could feel Lio`s sadness echo through his body. The man needed this. He had to make his Mine see that life was beautiful no matter what. The Brown and rider seemed to have issues with people, or issues with trying to form relationships. Relationships had always been casual with them among others. But, Lio and Mikidith had tried to make a bonding and lasting relationship here with some dragons and Riders only to feel like they had been left on the sidelines. Well, today, Mikdith hoped it might end here. They were a mighty pair, him and Lio both. He bugled to Gyth, his song beginning, singing sweetly of how beautiful she was. No other Pink matched her. She had been the only Pink he had ever felt anything for. There was a Purple and Black joining the Flight. Mikidith would lash out at them if they so much as tried anything. And that Black smelled of Renegade. He snorted. He was not worthy! Mikdith would soon take out this Black than watch him win this Flight. He rather lose to the Purple than see the Black win. He kept a careful eye on Thauth as he continued to sing his songs of love, devotion, beauty, and the majesty of Gyth. Would she pick him? He hoped she would. |

Reyith had been napping on the ledge while His Own was cleaning up the weyr they shared. The two-legged was such a finicky creature, constantly cleaning and re-cleaning everything with particular attention to the minutest of details. The black dragon didn't fully understand it. Why must everything be just so with His Dearest C'lin? It only stressed him out further. Which was unfortunate, for C'lin was always more animated about everything being perfectly in place when he was perturbed about something. The dragon sighed and buried his nose beneath his forelegs, giving a snort of content as he drifted in and out of a peaceful slumber. He wished he could help His Love... he really did. But, despite his frequent ability to cheer C'lin up, he was unable to do so all the time. Sometimes the rider just needed to sort things out himself. However, Reyith knew, that could take a very, very long time.
Suddenly, his senses tingled as during a chance moment when he opened his eyes, he saw a dragon of rich pink beauty hop down to blood several beasts in preparation for flight. His claws dug into the rock, scratching it with a sharp screech that made His Own squeal upon hearing it. But he was not focused on C'lin at this moment. He watched with anticipation as the pink dragoness slaughtered one beast, then another, and moved onto one more. A deep, sonorous hum resounded with a growl in his throat and his eyes swirled rapidly with excitement.
'Reyith, what are you-?' C'lin's uncompleted question fell on Reyith's deaf ears. He saw what was going on. Somewhere a dragon was rising, and Reyith was going to give chase. His blood pumped eagerly with anxiety and anticipation. He reached his mind out to Reyith, eager for communication and bonding. 'Who is it?'
Reyith projected the image of the pink dragon blooding her kill. She was on the last one now, and soon she would rise and the chase would begin. He rose to his feet, crouching like a cat ready to pounce -ready to fly and soar and beat out all others for the chance at this beautiful prize. But, in his relay of information, he sensed again the deep pain that came from C'lin and he sobered slightly. He must fly. He had to fly. He hadn't flown in ages! But he couldn't possibly hurt His Own. He strained to relax tense muscles and met eye-to-eye with His Dearest One. Anxiety colored what were once joyous eyes and he fought to examine the face and mind of that which was most loved in the world to him. Would C'lin mind? Would it be terrible if he chose to chase when it might bring C'lin more pain?
'Why are you worried? You silly beast,' C'lin chided with a half-hearted smile and an encouraging slap. Reyith did not rise very often, he was rarely interested in other dragons. And when he felt the inclination to do so, C'lin was not going to stop him from having his share of fun when the chance may not come again for a very long time. While Reyith had not named the dragon, he recognized her as looking to that one pinkrider that had taken possession of P'nay. But, it was Reyith's choosing... and the black dragon had never asked for anything incredible of him. 'Go get her, you wherry.'
Reyith leaped from the ledge with ethereal grace and beat his black wings with precision, strength, and confidence as he chased after the pink that had recently given her cry. A fire not driven by stone burned in all of his internal organs and he pursued with passion and agility that even rivaled other dragons of his diminutive size. Like a black shadow, shifting eerily and fluid-like through the air as gracefully as a shipfish. He looked around to spy the others that were in pursuit. A purple, a brown, and... a black? One he hadn't seen before. Well, while both he and the black had agility on their side, he was certain he could outfly all of his rivals. He picked up speed, taking to the hot air currents as easily as a babe to his mother's breast. Faster, stronger, evasive... he would win her, he knew it. He was one of the fastest and most agile dragons on Pern, or so he believed in this moment.
Meanwhile C'lin made his way to the weyr of the pinkrider who was currently sharing in the elation of the flight with his magnificent dragon. There he saw P'nay hanging all over the pinkrider, and to the side there was another rider, who seemed to be staying out of it. In that moment a fire burned inside of him, and for a split second he hated P'nay and his new plaything. He took a couple of steps toward them, but then changed his mind and took a spot near the purple rider, currently wishing to at least make himself look like the decent guy he wasn't. Maybe a good fling could make him forget what the other two would undoubtedly be doing. He then focused on the exhilaration that Reyith was currently experiencing, glad that his beloved weyrmate could have a bit of fun that he had been missing for a long time. |

ooc: Because life hit me about when this started, this was never finished. I don't like leaving it open ended, so I'll finish it up right here and now. Hope no one minds--but it isn't like Gyth's choice affects the universe. ;3~

She recognized only one of the handsome males that circled in her path, but R'ish recognized all but one, and even with P'nay's arms comfortably around his body, he relayed their faces one by one to the Pink duchess. She accepted them offhandedly, not truly interested in knowing who went where with who, but willing to take in the information nonetheless. She gave a soft bugle of encouragement to these four followers, amused and pleased by the turn-out as she spiraled once, twice, and then shot straight up into the air. Not nearly as picky as her Mine--which was something to be said--she would make her decision promptly without doubt!
Kerath was big and strong, but Gyth knew nothing about him. She'd never really been introduced, which didn't really bother her all that well. He flew strong and with laughter! A trumpet of joy that rang pleasantly in her mind. Wonderful indeed! Was there anything more wonderful than blue skies and aching wings?
The second flier was a Black, small and loud and of a strange shade. She didn't know him, but didn't really care either. He intrigued her considerably more than the others, and his wolf-whistle of a croon made her hide ripple in pleased amusement. He seemed like he would be fun!
Mikidith was a familiar face, and his sweet song echoed long in the sky. But it was sad, so sad and lonely, and Gyth refused to suffer such things on such a lovely day! With a bugle of her own, she rocketed even higher into the air, spiraling higher and higher as though to chase away any thoughts of sorrow or hurt on this day!
The last to fly was a Black, one that Gyth had no idea who was. She didn't recognize him in the least, and spared no more thought to it. Her back arched in the sky, and she launched into a backwheel, her extended wings flexing gently as she swirled up, and suddenly dipped down into a dive.
R'ish turned as Gyth began to shoot down, her decision clear to the Pinkrider. But unlike the firefly diving for her winner, R'ish would not choose the same. He gently untangled himself from P'nay's grasp, taking the blond's hand and leading him even as he purposefully to the doorway. He stood there, loomed for a long moment, and stared past W'al. "Excuse me." He said quietly as he gestured for the other to leave, instead reaching out for Lio. He smiled, soft and relaxed, and pulled the Brownrider into the room. "You're mine."
The cream-haired man pulled the other into his grip strongly, pressing a starved kiss against the other's lips just as Gyth's claws met those of her winner. The strange greyish black of Thauth's hide was oddly fitting against her dark pink, and the dragoness gave a pleased bugle with her decision. He was unique and exotic, and Gyth could not imagine a more clever decision.
And neither could T'el.
Eyes flashed with amusement as the blackette sashayed his way down the beach, his hands on his hips and his lips curled with a smug expression. Sjueth had been the one to relay the message of Gyth's Flight, continuing with the information that Thauth had Flown...and won. Smugly, the Ironrider approached M'kiru, leaning over the prone form with a wide grin. "First flight, hm~?" T'el knelt down and quite suddenly tackled M'kiru, pinning him to the sand even as he leaned down, nibbling hungrily at the other's throat, "This'll be fun."

Kerath let out a big gush of air as he saw Gyth choose another, though her decision came as no great loss to him. His wings and strength were taxed, so he dropped away, twisting to the side to return to the Weyr. Back on the ground, amongst the twisting corridors and caverns of the Weyr, W'al was left alone. He made no attempt to interfere in R'ish's choosing, as he had promised himself and empty air. The winner wasn't even present from what he could see and feel, leaving only another blackrider. W'al was quick to pull himself away, before his desperate eyes sought too hard towards that last figure. Fresh air was a blessing as he burst blindly into it. Of the two of them, Kerath seemed to be better put together after the flight, dipping into the bowl to seek out the simple company of his rider. W'al let out a long breath. Flights were a hard part of life.
P'nay frowned deeply when R'ish started to untangle himself from his hold. The fact that he couldn't see what was happening in the flight as it progressed was frustrating. He had experience with flights built in a different way than for most riders. Annith had only risen once in her life so far. A yellow, she was not a hormonally prone creature. He was simply known for loving the spoils of a flight. He knew plenty about the wonders of substitution, which was mainly what caused him to become quickly disgruntle. He was there, staking his claim, more than willing to pin R'ish down until he worked the flight lust out. They had many more of Gyth's flights to go in their life. He wanted that one to go right, in a way that wouldn't cause any confusion, so they could continue their lives with happiness, sunshine, and appropriately large amounts of sex.
The yellowrider's frown quickly past when he found himself being tugged along by one hand, as if an errant child. In fact, the frown turned into a grin as he got to watch R'ish pull Lio out of all the others. He liked Lio. A great deal. He beamed as he let R'ish kiss the brownrider. Then he started to wiggle. He reached out to grab one of Lio's arms himself. His fingers closed firmly around R'ish's hand too, so he could drag both of them towards the furs. Despite the fact that he was the only one of them not truly in the throws of flight lust, he was quite forceful. After all, he had to be the responsible one and stay in control. Or something like that. The emotions of even a pink's flight could have a tug on anyone nearby if they allowed the influence into themselves, and he very desperately wanted to feel the effects of the flight in all its glory. He was liking his position.
Mikidith. Across the bowl, Annith sat on her ledge, slender tail curled around her feet. She had no true part in the affair. She offered no competition to Gyth, who had chosen her winner. Her body held no telltale gleam of an upcoming flight. Her eyes swirled a content blue-green, untainted by her rider's thoughts. Despite her neutrality, she called out to the brown. He had lost, but that didn't diminish him in her eyes at all. One day, many months ago, she had chosen another as her winner when she had flown, someone who had needed her. Needs changed, time passed, and she was there, so she called out to him, her voice sweet, sunny, and ever cheerful. She sat to the side, leaving plenty of space for him. She waited just for him, ever patient, not minding the idea that he might not come or listen to her. She could always hope. I am here.
I'll wait for you,

Mikdith had lost. The Flightlust was beginning to drain from Lio as it was beginning to be replaced with depression. Realization was beginning to creep into Lio`s mind... he was not wanted. Even as R`ish`s hands reached out to grab him, pulling him along to the furs and to P`nay, Lio closed his eyes as his lips met R`ish`s. One last time. One last joy. One last pleasure. One last time to feel warm and cared for. One last roll. Lio shuddered with the thoughts as he looked over at P`nay, the only one not being thrown into the Flightlust. His beautiful Pink and Yellow Rider were not his. Tonight, for the last time, they would be, but tomorrow would come and everything would be forgotten. He would be forgotten. Hands reached out to touch R`ish and P`nay. Tears slowly came to the BrownRider`s eyes. Just touching their skins was relieving some of the Flightlust he still had. It was strange how something simple could easily bring joy. But with the touches came great pain. Tomorrow would come and all would be forgotten. He would be forgotten. And when this realization eventually set in, he was going to want to forget.
Gyth remembered him. She recognized him. How his heart soared, but she refused him and his song. She chose another, she chose that Renegade Black. She had chose someone who had barely seen her. Mikidith roared in pain as he twisted himself in mid-air to turn back to the Weyr. He was in pain. Annith called out to him. He wanted to soar to her, to find comfort in her, but then he remembered. She had Risen and refused him. Gyth had Risen and refused him. His two beautiful dragons had both refused them in their Flights. He seemed to be heading toward Annith as gray whirled in his eyes from pain. He came closer to Annith, and then he passed her, kept on flying. Forgive me, Annith, but this pain is worse than you can imagine, he spoke to her as he kept on flying. He would keep flying until his wings hurt and he could not fly anymore. He did not want to be with Annith, Annith, the Yellow who refused him before. His two beautiful dragons had refused him. He felt worthless. He felt his pride break in two. This had been a low blow to the gentle giant of a Brown. |

There wasn't any doubt in Thauth's mind that he was going to win. He was an exotic Renegade, afterall! What female would be able to resist him? It almost baffled him how he hadn't ever thought to fly before, this was incredibly fun! He was almost tempted to barrel into one of the other dragons just to see what would happen. But that was a bad idea. He didn't want to die, he just wanted to have some fun and win a Flight. He followed Gyth with a dramatic sway, crooning to himself in an almost sing-songy hum. Lalala. Wouldn't she hurry up and chose him? And his arrogance wasn't for nothing, as Gyth soon began to shoot down and he followed her, moving closer to meet her claws. He'd won! His first flight? No, his millionth flight. He was experienced! And he was the winner. Would he be faithful? Eh, who cared. All that really mattered now was... well, the Pink tangled together with him. Take that, Dalibor dragons!
Back on the beach, Thauth's rider wasn't nearly as pleased. He sighed, leaning back on his hands and staring angerly up at the sky. What was he supposed to do now?! Stupid sharding dragon! He'd won and now M'kiru was left high and dry. There weren't any other people around and with Thauth currently busy he couldn't even ask the Black to inform T'--... whatever, it wasn't like he wanted that sharding idiot over here anyway....
And of course he'd thought too soon, as there was the "sharding idiot" walking right towards him. M'kiru narrowed his eyes at the other, feigning unhappiness. He was actually very pleased that T'el had showed up... for once. He didn't even wiggle uncomfortable as T'el pinned him. "S-shut up," he whined, kissing the other man needily. He was too far gone to feel embarrassed about this, and he had definitely stopped caring at this point. Still, the last competant thought he had was that he really, really hated Flights.
