I Dare You {Tegarth's Flight}

This was… A strange feeling. He rather thought something was wrong with him as he watched the agitated green near the feeding pens. Hephaeth stood on the edge of their Weyr very still and tense as the green threw a carcase onto her back. She seemed… Different somehow. She seemed to be more beautiful to him. Well that was absurd, he had never seen the other female. Well, not really. Sure, he had seen her around flying in her brilliant glory but never like this.
Mine… There ith thomething odd about that green, Tegarth there. Look, she ith flying into the thky… Ith it normal to want to chathe her? It ith ithn’t it?

Z’is turned around and looked at Hephaeth with shock as a whole series of emotions flowed through their bond. Well, this was simply strange beyond reason. He had the strangest urge to find Cassondra and…
“Hephaeth… I don’t know…”
But the blue had already lept off the edge and flown after the green with a bugling call. Z’is hesitated a moment before the emotions overwhelmed him and he walked swiftly from his own Weyr in search of the green rider.
As he walked into her Weyr so too did Hephaeth start gaining on the green, making his intentions more obvious. Not that he really knew what he was doing of course… It was all very strange to him.
Tegarth. I will chathe you. Your brillianthe ith undeniable.

His wings beat hard but awkwardly as he wavered in the air, trying to keep up with the green. Hephaeth was certainly not the most graceful of fliers and was almost always awkward seeming whenever he flew.

Lanith crooned and warbled at her voice as it danced lightly through his mind like a sweet scent on a wind. His wide and wildly dancing eyes followed her with much attention, so much so, that his body followed her as she darted between himself and the other blue. He followed with the intensity of a loyal hound, his nose always pointing in her direction. He let his scarred and tattered wings fold slightly, allowing himself to fall after the green as she dove past them, but the moment he saw her wings snap open, his did the same, causing him to barrel roll over once, but also making him warble as if to say “hey, look what I am capable of doing,”. Needless to say, Lanith was proud at the moment. He was better, no best, and he was willing to prove it all.

Then, as the green shot upwards once more, his wings billowed one heavy flap, shoving him upwards, before he fell back into an easy chase, waiting for the true challenge or the race. He knew it would come soon enough. Every female tested the males at some point, whether it be by leading them through complex spirals and speeds, or by just making them race to her in the final stretch. He knew. He knew he knew more than the youngster. He was Lanith after all!

Then, she said the magic words. Strong Lanith. The blue warbled, addressing that she was in fact correct! He was strong, and a wing second, a leader, and a blue. What could be better than that? Nothing after all! He was the best of the best. Boring, though? No. That wasn’t the point, it was only mild now. But what got Lanith’s attentions was what she said next, directed to the younger one. His eyes sparked with crimson of the challenge. It was true, the youngster was not worthy at all. The youngster was below them, he and the green that is. If she was wanting Hepitath to challenge him, then he would challenge Hepitath first! Lanith let out a rumble. He was not one to deny the ladies what they wanted! His rumble escaladed into a growl, then a roar billowed out of Lanith’s maw as he shoved himself closer to the blue, opening his large jaws as he did so. The moment he was close enough, the older blue closed his jaws down on the younger one’s leg, snarling and allowing his jaws to close tightly before he released the younger one with a shake of his head and allowed his claws to trace his sides and base of his sails. He, Lanith, was not one to allow other off easily. No. He wanted that other one to remember who he was and to remember his place. Hepitath was young and foolish, while he, Lanith of H’to, was in his prime and scarred with experiences that made him stronger and better. Egotistical? Yes, but Lanith knew it was the truth.

Lanith put distance between himself and the other blue again, preparing himself for either a counter attack, or to try to take the youngster out of the skies all together. He would do it too. This female clearly was alright with the ichor shed, and that was how Lanith liked to play… Dirty.

Tegarth hissed. The young dragon gave up to easily!
How dare you leave me! She fell down towards earth after him, snapping, but... she could not leave her own flight and left him before ever reaching him, heading upward. It seemed that this was a pointless flight now. But she did not wish it to be over.

Come contender. Fight with me! she hissed and screamed and fell on Lanith, biting into his shoulder then attempting to scrabble away. Only by ichor and blood! she shrieked at Lanith and at the retreating Hephaeth.

Cassondra winced and came down to earth. Z'is... oh... she would have to apologize later. And that stupid dra- She was up in the skies again, her eyes, her feelings, everything.

This was going to be so boring with just one chaser. Oh... but she liked violent, blood. But... maybe it was time to end this? She did not want to! She wanted it to drag on! She wanted them both to bleed now! Lanith, my dearest... you make this too easy... Is there no one who can challenge you?

She fell from the sky again, straight towards the water below, allowing herself to fall through it and sail beneath, erupting to spiral upwards, straight towards him. This was his last test as she reached out to scratch at him with her claws. He'd have to catch her. To endure the pain she caused. And then... then maybe she'd give in fully to him.

Cassondra bit her lip, almost causing it to bleed then threw herself at H'to violently, feeling the need to bruise him, hurt him, like her dragon to see if he was strong enough to subdue her. To see if he could take it....
