With a lazy yawn, Iola dragged herself out of bed. It was going to be another long day, though she was much more used to it now than she had been when this had all started.
Taking a moment to rub her face, and she felt Jainath give a rumble, the copper rising and giving a slow stretch.
Do not forget your stretches, Iola. You are still favoring your side some.
"I won't forget," she said, already starting to warm herself up by giving some slow stretches. Had pulled something in her side during one of the self defense lessons, and was very persistent in making sure that she was warming that up well so she didn't aggravate anything when she did her morning run. Especially with as athletic as she was during the run.
Was trying a bit of a new path today, as she had gotten far too used to the last, and she had scouted out a few new directions that she could change it up with. That would keep things from being too predictable.
Though Jainath was definitely helping with that. With her side, the copper was able to pull ahead of Iola easily and put a foot or tail in the way for Iola to get around or over. Once she just just sat down, and Iola had to adjust on the fly.
Definitely made things interesting. Nobody had mentioned the early morning runs much, not really. Though with a copper tagging along, Iola knew they weren't exactly subtle. Still, she had gotten a few people to join up now and then, which was always fun.
Once she was warmed up, she moved out to where Jainath was and gave her leg a pat. "Come on, let's get going."
Time for my daily walk? The dragon's tone was amused, and Iola just made a face up at her. Just because -Jainath- did it at a fast walk didn't mean that it wasn't good exercise for Iola.
Once they were outside, Iola started into a jog, heading for the first obstacle she had set as the start point.

Exercise. It had never been something he had liked and he doubted he ever would. Oh, his sister was fond enough of it. As a matter of fact Garna absolutely loved going out there and nearly killing herself with physical activity. But him? No. Nu-uh. No way. He had always liked playing games, yes, but games were fun. Exercise was not a game, it was being dragged out to do something stressful and absolutely miserable. As a matter of fact he had made a bit of a game out of avoiding exercise.
For turns his sister had forced him to get out there and get active. Climb some trees(and fail miserably), run(and feel his chest tighten up on him), and on one horrible occasion, go swimming(he had nearly drowned). But now Garna seemed to be ignoring him. No, disowned was a better word. She refused to accept him as her brother after his impression to a 'weak' dragon. He wasn't going to lie to himself, it hurt. A lot. But at least one good thing came out of it, he didn't need to go on long, leg-breaking jogs any more.
Or at least he didn't until Mulonimath discovered that exercise made you healthy.
Not only did Mulonimath happen to be the smallest black on Pern but he was born with a severe cold, their first few sevendays together having been spent in the infirmary to ensure his survival. Finally they had gotten out but that didn't mean that he was as strong as his siblings, or really anywhere close to it. That didn't really matter to R'nar, he loved his dragon despite his faults, which he insisted were purely physical. And Mulonimath had come to accept that he wasn't very strong. However, there was no way he was willing to see his rider wither up and fade away, which was was worried might happen if he didn't get a good amount of exercise.
That was how, early in the morning, R'nar found himself beginning to jog. However, the jog was often slowed for two reasons. For one, he started to wheeze, and secondly, Mulonimath was having trouble keeping up. The size of a gray the black didn't exactly have the longest legs out there, not to mention his poor stamina. So they loped along at a slow pace, not following any trail but not making any particularly good progress either.
Eventually the huge form of a copper weyrling came into view. R'nar froze for a moment, not sure what to think of the exercising queen and her rider, who seemed to be making good progress. Part of him wanted to turn around and walk away. However, his bonded wasn't about to let that happen. As far as he was concerned his rider could do with some socializing, and what better time to get some than during exercise?
Greetings, Jainath, he called. Are you out taking yours for a run as well? He was absolutely tiny compared to the copper thanks to both size and color difference. However, he didn't seem to mind that much as he approached the pair, head held up and sending off friendly vibes.

Get up! Come on! Up and at 'em.
T'yer groaned. Sleep had been elusive at best lately and he didn't understand why Lenticuth was demanding he abandon what little he managed. He might have protested but, unlike himself, Lenticuth rarely did things without good reason, and so instead he obligingly dressed and was shooed out the door and into a morning jog without so much as a cup of klah to chase away the last of the sleep from his eyes. Lenticuth led and T'yer, as usual, marveled at the not-quite-a-hatchling's unusually fluid grace, the way he seemed to flow like a mossy, liquid shadow instead of a creature constrained by hide and bones. Something ahead caught T'yer's eye and he smiled, quite suddenly understanding what had prompted Lenticuth's sudden demand for morning activity.
Asperath may have been the closer of the two viridian brothers to their smallest clutchsib, but Lenticuth, T'yer knew, still carried a terrible sense of responsibility and guilt for the role his squabble had played in the Mulinomath's near-miss on the Sands. Seeing the black, well and working hard and under Lenticuth's own watchful eye eased the buzzing anxiousness that had led him to drag his chosen out of bed.
Not, of course, that any of that was apparent in his greeting, which was calm as ever and perhaps even a bit detached. Morning, Mulonimath. Are you well? T'yer bit on a grin and waved his own greeting to the blackrider pair in his Weyrling class.
And then came the task of greeting he esteemed company his brother had found. Lenticuth raised his head to look up--for he was still growing, small for his color, and Jainath was a queen--and opened his muzzle to offer a cool, smooth greeting. But T'yer, sensing such and never one to miss an opportunity to poke just a bit at the prickly dragon, best him to the punch, chirping a jaunty, casual, "'Sup, Jainey."
Retaliation was instantaneous and unforgiving. Lenticuth, swift as a tunnelsnake and just as smooth, had T'yer tumbled head over heels in a heartbeat, twisted with a tail in one fluid sweep so that the journeyman healer landed on his back but only barely. He rolled to avoid being trampled and dodged the snapping jaws of his viridian bonded only because Lenticuth meant for him to. "OUCH! Hey! HEY, I'm sorry!"
Lenticuth seethed, a simmering sort of critical discontent that was all the more terrifying for its cool control--not so much as a growl escaped him. Greet her properly.
T'yer hesitated, and Lenticuth allowed a single, warning growl so quiet and deep that it was felt before it was heard and the Weyrling held his hands out as though pleading for mercy, "Oh most gloriously gleaming copper qu--OW! Lenticuth! Sorry! Okay!--Copper Jainath, I hope you're well on the beautiful morning and...and te wind beneath your wings is plentiful and strong is that acceptable you uptight turtledove?" the latter, clearly, was pointed to Lenticuth, who steadfastly ignored him.
He dipped his dark head, eyes swirling his discontent thought the frustration was masked almost entirely from his mental voice, Good morning, Copper Jainath. If you are seeking a run, we could chase my chosen to the edge of the Weyrbowl. I'm sure I could catch him before-- "Lenticuth!" --He makes a further nuisance of himself. Lenticuth finished primly.
T'yer turned large, pitiful eyes up to Iola and begged, though there was good nature laughter in his voice, "Mercy! Please!" at last, he rolled to his feet and bowed respectfully to the copper's weyrling rider, and said with genuine seriousness, "I do apologize, if I have offended or interrupted."
Lenticuth sniffed.

Jainath perked up as another dragon came close. She lowered her head to be more on an eye level on the slightly younger dragon. Hello, Mulonimath. I see that you and yours are out as well this lovely morning. It is good to see, as exercise is good for you. She studied the black, giving him a look over. Iola is the one who started the runs, but it is good for both of us to come outside and move, I think. Though I do not have to go nearly so fast anymore.
Iola reached out and swatted at a copper limb. "You don't because your legs are four times longer than I am." She shook her head, then smiled at R'nar. "Morning. I hope you are doing all right?" She hadn't worked up a sweat yet, though she had been able to get some of the obstacles covered. "It's good to see a few others out this morning."
Then another dragon joined them, and the rider, T'yer, Iola thought, was teasing Jainath. The copper huffed, eyeing him with a bit of a glare. Iola just had to cover her mouth and keep from laughing. Though she knew that her dragon would feel the amusement. Especially when Jainath gave her a look as well.
I would, but I would probably accidentally step on him. There was a bit of a lazy tail swipe at the boy, then Jainath looked to the viridian. Hello, Lenticuth. It is good to see you this morning.
Clearing her throat, Iola looked at T'yer. "It's all right. I'm just running my morning course. You and R'nar are both invited to join in, if you like." She grinned at both boys. "Or be more like Jainath and just add commentary to the activity."
She rested a hand against Jainath's leg, smiling up at the copper. "Company is always good."
