A green, a brown, a couple of pinks... new pillies were hatching left and right, in so many colors, and Pyrus didn't know where to look. He wasn't used to a hatching of this size -- granted, the only hatching he'd ever witnessed was that of his firelizard, which was a small wild hatching among the trees. Certainly no amber pillie hatching. Pyrus wondered if pillie hatchings just tended to be larger, or if this was an especially strange case.
Pyrus found himself frantically trying to keep track of all the new hatchlings, for fear of a pillie attempting to bond to him without him noticing it. He had never bonded to anyone but Fez, and while he loved having a bonded, he still didn't entirely understand it.
The blue pillie, with a pink on his back, caught his eye. At first he thought the pink was his backpack, but when he noticed how irritated the blue was, he came to the conclusion that the craftly pink had taken advantage of her brother, and decided to take a ride. In fact, he just so happened to notice as she jumped off, scuttled around, then stopped at his feet, looking up. "...yes?"
Wreeeeh!
She crawled up his leg to make the bond, then stopped. Why was he still? She had chosen him already, and now she wanted to see their quarters. They should be off! She crawled up until she was sitting atop his head, clicking at him as she did. Yes, he was quite tall, quite tall indeed, but not the tallest. No worry, he was young, and she was sure he must have some growing to do.
"I should give you a name, you know." he reminded her as he walked back towards the weyr. Now what was a good name for a girl pillie? He went through a mental list of flora, picking out anything that sounded interesting, but none of the flowers seemed to fit her. She was much cooler than that.
"Ivy. Ivy fits." he decided aloud. "Come on Ivy, I'm going to show you your new home."
