"Shh.. Penny! You'll wake the neighbors!" Nevermind, of course, that the neighbors were most likely already awake... being as it was in the middle of the day. But, being a whersport, Penny did not need to know such silly things as whether it was night or day... that was Matthaus' job to keep track of, obviously. "You know the yellow one is your favorite... just put it on, you'll see." Nevermind where he got the yellow textiles... although, they did look suspiciously like many scraps that had been thrown away and sewn back together with off-colored thread.

The poor bird-like creature squawked, sending protofeathers flying everywhere. She hopped around the room, at one point trying to hide beneath the covers of the bottom bunk--Matthaus' roommates' bunk. It was there, of course, that he managed to corner her. Large hands held her wings as gently as he could folded at her sides, then he snuggled her next to him under one of his arms, his now free hand maneuvering the sundress as best he could over the biting head of Penny the Passionate.

"See! Don't you look pretty!" As if to respond, Penny snipped at him and caught some of the skin and clothes at his side. He grimaced, but held her still until she finally stopped squirming. At last, the bird seemed resolved to wear the dress and he placed her down to strut about the room. At least this time she didn't try to take it off right away. Yep. Penny the Second seemed to rather like his dresses. He knew that she would.

There are days where he does most of his reading in the dining hall. No it wasn't quiet, in fact at times it could be quite loud. He felt it was the most reasonable place to be, since the outside was too sweltering and well -- he had a room mate. He didn't hate this room mate, sure he was a bit strange but it was his habits he really didn't.. particularly enjoy.

Mainly it was the... feathered critter that lived with him.

Okay and well he had trouble with people in his space all times of the day, but in order to be effective here he knows he has to get over that. Though it would make it a lot easier when there weren't yellow feathers littering the room, especially the bunk beds. His bed.

When it started to get a bit crowded is when Riocard decided to head back to the Candidate Barracks. Surely Matthaus would have been one of the ones to have filed into the Dining Hall. The thought crossed his mind, but he let it go and didn't hold on to it. If you never expected anything, then there is no way you can be disappointed, or outwardly surprised. So of course when he entered the candidate barraks and strolled down the hall to his room.

He certainly wasn't surprised to see Matthaus already there... with his whersport. In a dress. Again.

Eyebrows rose as he crossed the threshold, but he forced a smile of greeting on his lips. "I thought you'd be in the Dining Hall." he greeted as casually as he could muster. He wasn't sure if his roommate has caught on to his... habits -- Riocard would like to think that they were flawless. The bird's feathers were scattered, and his eyes darted to his bed to see that the sheets had been ruffled.

"I'm surprised... Penny... allows you to even slip a dress over her." he stated crossing the room to his trunk, careful to avoid Penny's strutting route, and placing the book back neatly inside. While his back was turned he managed to take a calming breath, not before grinding his jaw. If he wasn't trying so hard to be so damn nice to people here, Matthaus would have gotten an earful. But he tried to keep emotional outbursts to a strict minimum.

But he will be washing his sheets if he finds any feathers in them...
