Mine, Mine! Look at this!
Cheerful brown eyes turned from the ground to the sky, watching with intrigue as the great Purple shot up into it, swirling into a tumble agilely. Two Brown flits followed in perfect unison with the massive creature, each on either side of his wingtips as a Green lead the way, Doppelith just able to reach out his nose and touch the tip of her tail. Down and up they flew together, before Queen suddenly shot straight up and the other three soared into a landing.
Doppelith hit the ground first--Run and Ram spiraling behind him--and did so with only two feet, his left front and right rear touching the ground delicately as the other two were lifted with claws spread. His tail was partially up, perfectly matched to his dramatically arched neck, and his wings were spread straight up. Just as he stabilized--wobbling for a moment--Run and Ram landed on either tip of his wings, giving matching trills of approval as the dragon lifted his muzzle, and little Queen perched upon the tip of his nose.
But as stunning as the show was, it ended rather abruptly as Doppelith stumbled forwards into a heap, all three flits betweening to reappear above F'let, chattering in laughter. Oops! I fell. Laughing as loudly and as merrily as the fire lizards, the Purple fell into a happy roll, getting to his feet with a shake of his hide. "So you did! But you looked amazing, Doppelith! We'll just have to work on you staying upright!"

Where are we going? We’re not going on a scavenger hunt again are we? Everyone else gets to relax while we’re walking around the bowl, why can’t I sleep?” Invidiath said sourly, eyes whirling an angry red. She seemed to be taking a page out of Irath’s book today, teeth bared and in an overall unhappy mood. K’lay watched her out of the corner of her eye. He did love the little pink, so very much but would it kill her to be positive once in her life? Yes
Quick to change the subject, or at least get back to what she’d been complaining about he spied a purple shape in the distance. “See Vidi? Not everyone is relaxing today,” he told her, patting her head. The pink turned one whirling eye to him then refocused it on the dragon in the distance. Without a backwards glance she shot ahead of Hers, stopping a few feet away from the larger purple dragon. What were you doing? she asked tilting her head at the Purple, her eyes still an angry red. K’lay ran after the pink pausing behind the rider to catch his breath. “Hey,” he managed to say after a few seconds. “M’name’s K’lay.”

As the duo approached, Doppelith turned his attention to them, his tail twitching with happy amusement as F'let set to his steps once more, moving in time with his own inner beat. But the Sr. Weyrling paused--one foot on the ground and the other in the air--when Doppelith gave a trill of a greeting and strode closer to the Pinkpair. I was dancing! He trumpeted, eyes whirling a cheerful cyan shade, Its lots and lots of fun and, ya know, good for muscle structure! Or so Mine says. But F'letMine is always right, so it must be true!
With a laugh he settled to the grass, tilting his head with merry amusement at the tiny pink. F'let, meanwhile, lifted his stare to K'lay, a happy smile sliding onto his own expression. "You Impressed at that last Hatching, huh? What a Hatching! Some of the others were a bit scary, although yours is so pretty, she can't be too bad." With a laugh he skipped over, dipping into a bow before offering a hand, "I'm F'let! Pleasure ta meet ya!"
Oh! My name is Doppelith, little pretty, and Mine is F'let! Would you like to dance with me?

Invidiath narrowed her multicolored eyes. Dance? You can dance? I most definantly cannot do that, the pink replied sounding rather confsed. Wasn't dancing for Mines? Not for dragons! Why couldn't she dance if this Purple could? He was so big too! She'd never be that big! Doppelith? That's nice name, mine's Invidiath though Mine calls me Vidi. S'not a very good name, she replied, looking up at theother dragon.
K'lay shook the other boys hand a friendly smile apearing on his face. "Yeah it was pretty scary huh? I was fraid Irath was going to kill someone. You must have Impressed at an earlier one right? Cause he's pretty huge," he glanced at the purple. He dwarfed Invidiatha and wasn't even full grown! At the comment on Vidi's personality he smiled weakly. "Yeah she alright most of the time."

Doppelith seemed to laugh at the Pink's words, swaying slightly. The flits--at last coming down from their near-crushing--glided in to perch on various parts of the Purple, Queen and Run finding his skull to be the best place as Ram took a spot between the dragon's wings. Oh I'm sure you can! Doppelith chirped, moving closer to dip his head down, touching his nose against Invidiath's, Everyone can dance, or so F'letMine says! But F'letMine's never, ya know, wrong!
Happily he gestured with his head for the Pink to join him, his tail flicking merrily, Here, I'll show you! We all, ya know, can't dance like our Mines, of course. They're so very tiny and bendable! We dance best in the sky! But we can dance on the ground too! Its not that hard. With a trill of encouragement he stood with one foot lifted, curling it delicately. He put it down and lifted his right foot, holding it the same way. But as he made the switch, he tilted his head to the side, the flits squeaking as the fell off and glided to F'let's shoulders. Doppelith repeated the motion, laughing cheerfully, See, Invidiath! He paused, settling to his haunches, and tilted his head further to the side, blinking as he tasted the name for the first time. Invidiath. I like that name! Its very pretty!
"Doppelith and I helped round up some herdbeasts for the Hatching, actually. It was pretty bad how disorganized it was." He laughed, smiling as Queen peered down into his face from her place on his head, "But it seems dangerous dragons are becoming a big thing in Hatchings. Like you said, I Impressed waay before; Doppelith is from Kalith's clutch. A friend of mine Impressed a Brown that mauled one boy and acted like he wanted to eat one of the other dragonets." He gave a chuckle, stroking Run's head, "He's settled down quite a bit though. I'm sure Irath's'll take good care of her, and she'll settle down too!"

Yes, Mine is quite flexible. Though I do not think he can dance.... she said thoughtfully, glancing at Hers . Another thing Hers couldn't do. He couldn't sing or play an instrument either. Ah, he remembered there was one thing he could do. Cook. He'd once made her a little herdbeast plate. That had been yummy? Well not as yummy as what peoples got to eat but still good. Though it appeared that Doppelith's could dance. And if Doppelith's was always right did that mean she could dance? She'd never tried...
The pink watched the larger dragon carefully and, once he had finished, attempted t copy him. She concentrated on lifting each leg not looking quite as gracefula Doppelithbuut thato be expected right? Oh! Look at me! she said excitedly, she'd done it. Sort of. Though she never be good like Dopplith....You do...? Vidi said suspiciously, none besides K'lay had ever sid anything like that too her.
K'lay nodded, "I think I remember that! You came at the right tie, Vidi was pretty hungry back then. She was always hungry though. "Let's hope that the trend wnds huh? I dunno if the wyre cn take anyore Iraths,J he added with a laugh, [/size]

Perhaps F'letMine could teach him! He's very flexible, and very good at dancing! Doppelith chortled, eyes whirling faster as he watched Invidiath attempt the move. Merrily he gave a soft trumpet of approval, dipping his head in a sharp nod, That was very good! It takes lots and lots and lots of, ya know, practice to get it right! But you did very well!
With a whistle he nudged his nose towards her, encouraging her to do it again, to try again. I do! He agreed, practicing the move himself after a few moments, although he added in a sudden flare of his wings as he reared up and held the position, dipping back to the ground a few seconds later, Its very pretty--just like you!
"Oh I doubt we'll get too many like her." F'let replied cheerfully, falling easily into his routine. He talked as he moved for the most part, but went very silent as he leaped up and arched into a tumble, landing on one foot easily. He froze, keeping the position for a good ten seconds, then lapsed into a happy mound on the ground, laughing. "Irath is a very special dragon, just like all of them! But just because they're grumpy when they're little doesn't mean anything. They're babies, after all!"

The little pink, actually quite excited for once, tried the little dance again and finding that she hadn’t hurt herself yet let a out a tiny bugle of happiness. Of course it was nothing like Doppelith’s trumpet being much higher and pitch and more feeble sounding but for once she was too preoccupied to complain. Invidiath tilted her head at the larger dragon, Practice? Lots and lots? But that’s a lot of time… she said trying the dance yet again. She really didn’t get why the purple was so happy all the time but she ignored such thoughts, focusing on not falling down.
“Hopefully,” K’lay said watching the other boy. It seemed both he and his purple were quite enthusiastic. And very…dancey. They’d even gotten Vidi into it, he was happy to see the little dragon not comlaining and enjoying herself even if she did look quite clumsy next to the huge Purple. “Ah yeah I suppose they’ll calm down over time. Maybe it’s just a phase,” K’lay said with a grin, offering a hand to pull the other boy up.
