Catori looked from one excited person to the next, before turning back to Zeis. ''Thank you, very much, Zeis. I will leave you to...'' She paused and looked around, searching for the correct word. She then shrugged. ''Socialize, i guess,'' She smiled warmly, and with her Pastry, she walked off, hoping to find the room in which she was to stay.
Once out of the crowded area, she stopped and looked around. Wait...Where am i to go? She asked herself silently. Her lack in direction skills was beginning to show as she looked from left to right and back again. Great...

Despite her best efforts, Talouse couldn't hold in a yawn. It was late for her, now accustomed to a wher candidate's hours, and she getting tired. "I'm sorry, I'm just used to sleeping the day away. I'm a wher candidate by the way. I really should be getting some sleep, though." She said, really hoping that the other girl wouldn't take it personally. "It was nice to meet you Kes!" With one last toothy grin, she set off back down the hallway to her room.
((I know, waaayyyy short, but I've got too many threads on my hands. I had to cut back somewhere XD))

She wasn't going to complain about how soon Talouse left. Well, Kes did find it a little disheartening, to be honest. She was proud of herself for being able to say hello, and would have been prouder if she'd kept up at least a decent conversation, but she didn't care much. At least she didn't have anything holding her back around the congregation anymore. With a last glance at the rest of them, all... social and all, she padded down the hallway to her room, holding her pastries.
Time to get back to her writing, she figured. [/blockquote]

Krysthanine returned the grin, letting it be a bit softer on her features. ”I’ll be sure to! Thank you for the invitation,” she giggled, releasing the gentle grip on his hand.”You’ll probably expect to see me more often, what with those fabulous delectables in the Kitchens!” She let out another giggle. Giving him one more grin, she snatched another pastry from the now tiny amount of pastries and made her way to her room. First sweets, then an invitation to come to the Kitchens any time? What could possibly make this day any better? she wondered blissfully, taking a bite out of her prize. The girl danced to her cot, and quickly made room on her cluttered bed for her to sit down on the edge to eat her food. Once it was gone, she shoved the clothes off of her bed into a corner of her room, and grabbed her furs from the ground. Pulling them about herself, she lay down and quickly dozed into a content slumber. ((AUGH! So close to two hundred words!))

"I'll, um, look forward to it." Zeis smiled a little shyly at Krysthanine before she left for her room. That seemed to be everyone gone all most. With the exception of the blond haired young woman who'd punched him in the shoulder, everyone seemed to have eaten their fill and gone about their separate ways. His turned to look at the remaining candidate, and tried to smile. "I don't think I heard your name...?"
"Hrmf?" Baharl looked up at the Baker, and hastily chewed and swallowed the mouthful of pastry. She seemed to have bitten off more than she could chew, because she thumped her throat and coughed as though it had trouble going down. "... Baharl. Nice-" Whatever she was going to say cut off into a short coughing fit, and Zeis wandered toward her looking a little concerned. He reached out to pat her on the back, but she waved him off and recovered by herself. ".. Nice pastries. Gotta chew my food!" She finished with a little breathless laugh.
Zeis stared at her, and laughed a little nervously. Was laughter really appropriate right now? The girl almost choked, and on something he had brought as a gift no less. He spied the bags looped around her shoulders, and strived to make polite conversation. "Thank you. I guess you're new here too...?"
"Oh, yeah!" Baharl said with a grin, not seeming bothered at all by her brush with death only moments ago. She thrust a hand in the boy's direction, not noticing his brief flinch as if he believed she was going to hit him again. Warily, the black haired boy took her hand, and instantly regretted it as it felt like her grip was trying to crush the life out of him. However, he put on a strained smile to match her grin, which he thought was seeming more and more maniacal. "Pleased as bubbly-pie to meet you, um.... Zeis?"
"Yes, thats it." Zeis nodded, straining to keep his voice level, and finally pulling his half maimed hand out of her grasp when they'd shaken for long enough. He put his hands behind his back in an attempt at nonchalance, so she couldn't see him absently rubbing his smarting hand. "You're welcome at the Kitchens anytime too, with um... an appetite like that." The boy trailed off in faint wonder as he watched Baharl inhale the remains of the pastry in her hands, and take two more. Those weren't light pastries either! Dense pudding and fruit filling.
Baharl laughed, and took a slightly messy bite of one of her new prizes. She held up a hand for him to wait, and chewed thoroughly this time before attempting to swallow. "Thank you for the invite, friend. I've had like six of these already, but they're just so good!"
By Faranth, Zeis thought, this woman was a bottomless pit! He wondered idly if he should regret extending the invitation, once she ate Dalibor out of Weyr and home. Instead, he managed a small smile and a nod. "I'm glad you like them so much. Take as much as you want, Baharl. I should leave soon though. I'm still supposed to deliver another basket to the Weyrlings..." He hinted, and gave a nod toward the basket for her to finish up.
"Oh, sure. Lets see here..." Baharl turned her gleaming blue eyes upon the remaining pastries in the basket. Most of them had been slightly squashed with the weight of the others, and they had mostly cooled off by now. She didn't mind however, because good food was still good food even when it was cold. Wasn't there something her father always used to say? Don't look a gift runner in the... uh... eye? No, that wasn't it. Either way, these were great! She heaped two more into her arms for later. "That should tide me over. Now I've gotta find a room."
Zeis shook his head in wonderment at the girls continued gluttony. He baked desserts like these all day, and even he didn't eat that much of them. He picked up the now greatly diminished basket, and was relieved with the weight difference. He wouldn't have a problem carrying this around now. "Well, I'm off. Goodbye, Baharl, and good luck finding a room."
Baharl paused in the bite she was going to take from one of her remaining pastries, and turned her head to grin at him. "Thanks! I'll see you later for dinner!" She either didn't notice or chose to ignore Zeis' startled expression as she turned and strode down the hallway in search of a room. This was just her first day at Dalibor and already it had been better than she expected! She got to socialize, and had a sharding near feast of dessert! So far responsibility wasn't so bad, in fact it was delicious.
"By the first egg, dinner..." He mumbled quietly, and openly stared at her as she parted ways from him. "She still wants dinner..." He sighed, and started back the way he came himself. Even with all the embarrassing moments, his mother's mission had been a success. The candidates did seem greatly cheered by the Kitchen's gifts, and Zeis noted that he had met a lot of kind, if somewhat overbearing, people. He admitted that this had been a better day than most of his spent at Dalibor. It was... slightly fuller. In a way, he was sad for once to see Rukbat dipping below the horizon.
