No fair. This game's completely one sided!
Rhysia ducked behind someone else's dresser in someone else's room, trying not to make a single noise as she hid from something. Over the past several months and ever since the incident that occurred the night after her dragon's hatching, she had gotten thinner and more gaunt looking. Raeterith, her wonderful and only companion had been holding it all together. Rhysia just wasn't sure who to trust anymore these days and she preferred minding her own business. With Rae around who needed anyone else right?
But her dragon was well aware that it was important for her rider to have human friends too. Why didn't the sweet and quirky young one make human friends with ease? She could totally pull it off, so the Green thought to herself. Rhysia was an utter delight! She was hardly ever that selfish and extremely friendly in any given circumstance. Then again, many dragons saw their riders through rose-tinted glasses. Rhysia was still a bit of a scoundrel and lately it was getting a little worse. She wasn't watching herself nearly as much as she used to. More and more objects were being 'lifted'. Hardly anything Rhysia owned anymore started off as her own. Most of it simply ended up in her possession. If anyone caught her using something that was 'theirs' once, she'd give it back without a fuss and apologize. It no longer bothered her to be so discreet about it anymore. Now that she had Raeterith she was beginning to throw caution to the wind.
The room she hid in was too neat. She should have picked a messier one with more stuff to duck behind. No, it was no use. She could hear the clicking of Raeterith's claws as the Green poked her head through the doorway. You see, this is why Mine needs more human friends. Raeterith finds her Mine with ease.
Rhysia let out a sigh, stepping away from her hiding place. "Hide and seek's a dumb game anyways," she replied, her glance tracing about the room with the curiosity of learning whose it was. The comb was a dead giveaway. It was her old friend L'am, though it was probably safe to say they weren't quite friendly anymore. She frowned and picked up the comb, deciding to take it rather than taking it unconsciously. Eventually he'd figure out who might have taken it. Everyone was slowly starting to catch on. "I don't need friends. The only way I get attention around here is when things start to go missing. It's just like Fort," she continued, her tone on the word 'Fort' particularly biting. "Besides, I have you. I don't need human friends. I never really did."
She walked towards Raeterith and put a hand on her nose. It was her way of showing affection, like a claim that she could stake and no one could claim it away. She did the very same at the Hatching. No one could take her happiness away now that she had Rae. That didn't mean she had no ups and downs though.
What about Tomarth's human? What of the Healer?
Paralee and Cleo. What of them? Rhysia hadn't seen them in a while. She was beginning to think they brushed her off when they started to see the trouble in having a kleptomaniac for a friend. "I'm sure they're too busy to run about with me. Oh come on, Rae. Let's not talk about this. How about a swim? The weather's amazing today. We can dive for shells to decorate my book with," she said with a warm smile, giving the Green's nose a pat.
I would like that, she replied, the blues in her eyes whirling.
"Good! I'll go get my swimming clothes."
Rhysia trotted past Raeterith and she and the Green were beginning to head to their room.
