This Weyr... it was so odd. There were a lot of places that Belphegor had never seen before, not even at Benden! But, then again, did that make the Weyr strange or did that make her strange? It probably made her strange, she decided, for not leaving her rooms in the lower caverns back at Benden. But now she had a room in the Candidates Barrack, because she was a Candidate! So excited. It was so exciting. Belphe was so excited!
The innocent 15 turn girl continued through the Weyr, touching the walls as she passed them and dragging her hands along them. They felt different than Benden's walls, somehow... but that was just because she wasn't used to them, she reasoned. Soon they would feel like home. Not that Belphe honestly spent a lot of her time touching walls... but, still, it was nice to get to know the areas around her. It was a good, fine wall that she could be proud to call the wall of her Weyr! Yes... okay....
Anyway, Belphe casually made her way down the halls and towards the Dining Hall, entering it first by poking her head in, looking around and then walking in. It was rather crowded, so she figured it must be lunch time. That was a reasonable assumption. Oh... but there was such a long line and she really did not want to wait.... But a growling her stomach forced the dreamy girl to stand in line and wait patiently for her turn at the food. She daintily picked up a single meatroll in almost a daze, nodding absently at the table as though thanking someone.
Happy with her choice in food, Belphegor looked out at the tables. She didn't really want to just sit down and have people look at her strangely.... Her fluffy blonde twintails stood out enough as it was, and she didn't really want to attract that much attention right now. First get to know your surroundings, then get to know your people. That was what her father always told her, and she wanted to stick by his words the best she could! So Belphe walked to the back of the Dining Hall and sat down at the last empty table, nibbling quietly on her meatroll as she watched the people around her with a vaguely curious gaze.

Tasakhori was absolutely ecstatic to be here. Of course, she was ecstatic every day, but today was simply delightful! She'd had a fabulous ride on her pony, Miles, exploring all around the bowl of the Weyr and even to the very exit of it. Naturally she'd needed a bath afterward, being dusty and hot from the warm weather, but that had been pleasant too! Dalibor was a great place, she thought, and the dragons were absolutely incredible. Watching them fly from the back of her pony...oh, it had been beautiful! Beautiful! There was no better word for it!
Skipping down the corridor to the dining hall, the tiny girl drew more than a few confused stares. Seeing a diminutive redhead prancing off to eat wasn't a commonplace occurrence it seemed. Still, Tasa didn't care - she was hungry! And she'd darn well eat! And make some friends, too, maybe! And then...well, she wasn't really sure what she'd do after that, but she'd figure something out. Maybe she'd go hang out with her new friend, or friends, plural.
Zipping energetically between the tables, and drawing stares from every which way, the undersized candidate waltzed up to select her food. Seizing a plate, a knife, and a fork with a triumphant cry, she didn't just wait in line - she danced. She spun. She practically sang in her good mood, and it only got better as she picked out all the kinds of food she wanted. Slices of meat, mashed potatoes, even vegetables: they all went on her plate. The finishing touch was a small purple fruit, sweet on the inside and tart on the outside, and her favourite dessert.
Now it was time to find a spot to sit. Humming cheerily to herself, Tasa looked about for a free spot, and took no time finding one. There, at the back, there was a table with just one person sitting at it: a blonde-haired, lonely-looking soul without a friend nearby. That would not do! Skipping through the crowd, the candidate slapped her plate down on the table, laughing and smiling brightly. "Can I sit here?" she asked unnecessarily, taking a seat before the other girl even had a chance to answer.
Instantly she launched into talking, eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "How come you're over here all alone? Isn't it boring? But you have me now, so don't worry! How are you?" All this was said practically in a breath, and Tasakhori released it in a huge sigh before drawing in more air to keep talking. However, her food distracted her, and she speared a slice of meat, stuffing it into her mouth with bright eyes fixed on her new companion. Perhaps that was best, too - she talked a mile a minute, and considering the speed of her questions...at least the blonde would have time to think while the redhead chewed. If not for very long... Belphegor was happily slipping off into her daydreams, eating as she watched the people around her go about their business. It was interesting, she supposed, but she didn't really care all that much. She was distant, dreamy and carefree... she didn't care all that much about other people and what they thought of her. She tightened one of her twintails absentmindedly, tracing a rather hyper girl zig-zagging through the tables with her eyes. How strange... what an odd person, to move so excitedly like that....
Her face lit up with a smile when the other girl sat at her table. "Yes, of course!" she said with an energetic smile. The girl's energy was contagious, but Belphe wasn't exactly the shyest girl around. Sure, she didn't go out of her way to talk to people when they were already in groups, but she was able to talk to people she didn't know with confidence and cheer. This girl was an exciting person to be around anyway, she figured! It was fun! She must know all about the world that Belphe didn't know about! Oh, she was so excited she could barely polish off her meatroll...!
"Oh... I guess it is boring!" Belphe replied, thinking. Boring? She wanted to pile Tasakhori with questions after questions about boredom, but restrained herself. She didn't nearly know this girl well enough to start prodding at her like that! Even Belphe knew something about a little courtesy. "I'm sure you're a very interesting person," she continued with an innocent, trusting smile.
Oh... how was she? "I was hungry, but now I'm not..." she responded distantly, thinking. How could she answer that? How did she get here? Belphe didn't know! It was far too much philosophy for her to think about clearly. "I'm Belphegor, but you can call me Belphe," she introduced herself with another innocent smile, "What is your name? Is it an interesting name?" she was a very curious girl with lots of questions and she really couldn't hold herself back, sometimes. She was innocent, trusting, and definitely didn't believe that anyone would ever lie!

Aha! Tasakhori had known she was right, and the other girl now confirmed it! It had been boring over here before she'd arrived! Triumphantly the tiny redhead stuffed a huge forkful of potatoes into her mouth, chewing energetically in order to respond in a timely manner. "Course it is! But the 'is' is a 'was' now, because I'm here!" Waving her fork to emphasize the truth of this statement, Tasa furiously wolfed down another forkful of food, grey eyes blazing with pure energy. She'd made a new friend (everyone was her friend) and she was sharding happy about it!
Chewing madly, the redhead grinned and nodded enthusiastically at the other's comment. "Of course I am! You're interesting, too!" Beaming back at the blonde, she swallowed the newest bite of food, and went on to another. Some people were reluctant about eating in front of others. Tasakhori was definitely not one of those people. Every forkful was massive, bloating her cheeks like an overstuffed chipmunks before she chewed it down enough to swallow.
The blonde wasn't hungry? Sacrilege! Looking up from her plate, Tasa tossed the bright bangs out of her face, and laughed. "I am! I love food! It's delicious! Especially the Weyr food!" Skewering a chunk of meat, Tasa crammed it in her already full mouth and crunched as if possessed. So fast did she chew, in fact, that she was done that mouthful before her new friend had a chance to speak again. And the blonde's name was Belphegor!
Delighted by this, the candidate practically bounced in her seat, tapping her fingers quickly along the table in a pointless rhythm. "Belphe! I like that name! It's pretty!" Practically glowing with enthusiasm, Tasa licked her fork, and impaled two chunks of meat, a hunk of potato, and several vegetables, lifting it ominously to her lips just as Belphe spoke again. Much more interested now in conversation than food, the girl grinned, using her free hand to gesture to herself and then sweep through the air in a dramatic motion. "I think it's interesting! I," she practically trilled with excitement, "am Tasakhori! Tasakhori and Belphe, that's us!" Rocking her chair back and forth on two legs, Tasa shoved her overloaded fork in her mouth, puffing out her cheeks once more. Considering the elfin features of her face, the effect was thoroughly comical, and she knew it too. Giggling through the mass of food, the little candidate chewed with great enthusiasm, lifting her brows expressively. "Where're you from? I'm from Benden! I brought my pony with me; his name's Miles. Do you like ponies?" Grinning expectantly, the girl wolfed down more of her food, the supply of which was steadily dwindling on her plate. She was down to about half her meal now, thanks to her overcharged mouth. That same mouth was threatening to go off again unless Belphe said something soon; she just couldn't keep quiet for long. And thinking about Miles made her simply ecstatic: here they were, the pony and the candidate, all ready to Impress a dragon! Well, only she would really Impress, she supposed, since dragonets didn't pick ponies, but then they'd have a mutual friend! It'd be great! And it'd be even better if Belphe decided to be her friend too!
