He stood there, watching his dragon fly overhead. Her hide seemed to glitter as she flew, reflecting pink all around her. She crooned and let out content sounds that echoed in the air.
Do you think she will come? Aith's voice echoed in P'rth's mind as he watched her stop twisting and turning and descending back toward the ground.
I hope so, Aith. He replied as he squinted his eyes as her wings began to send massive drafts of air toward the ground. Soil and small pieces of rocks flew all around him as her wings got closer and closer to the ground.
As she landed, her feet hit the ground heavily, making the ground shake ever so slightly and releasing a thudding noise.
I do hope so. She makes you happy, P'rthMine. I do not think she knows that. Maybe you should tell her.
Lets just start by hoping she got my letter. He replied to her with a small chuckle as he stepped forward and placed his hand on her warm hide. She crooned and color swirled in her eyes.
Yes. One question at a time. She lowered her nose and pressed it into Her's chest.

The letter had been discovered right outside of her room in the barracks. It hadn't had a signature, but Amara recognized the clumsy scrawl of the handwriting. That was why, right then, she was perched on Veejarth's back as the small black winged through the air. A delighted croon escaped the black as he spied his destination, and also a pink, who landed on the ground before he could greet her.
Amara smiled, mind drifting back to Cobble, who was curled up on the middle of Amara's pillow back in her room. She was a little on edge about this meeting with P'rth, but thinking about Cobble was relaxing. The little kitten was growing quickly and Amara was quite firmly attached to the little critter. However, as quickly as her attention moved from P'rth to Cobble, she was off to thinking about the rapidly approaching Gather.
Veejarth swept above the Pinkpair, angling himself downward and touching down lightly a dragonlength or two away from P'rth and Aith. We are, AmaraMine. he said, crooning to himself. "So I see, Vee." Amara replied, wriggling out of the straps and sliding down from the black's back, with a grin on her face. "Hey!" she called out, grinning, waving absently in P'rth's direction. Greetings Aith, P'rth! Veejarth greeted the two, eyes whirling happily and voice mannerly. I have come with Mine, as the letter requested! He added that last bit with another happy croon. As Vee spoke, Amara started to walk forward, arms clasped loosely behind her back. After a moment's thought, Veejarth moved slowly after her, awkward on the ground, despite being small for his color. He was delighted to see the Pinkpair, however, even if his demeanor didn't show it. He found conversing with the lovely Aith great fun, as he had since the day he'd Hatched. Amara was much less delighted and a lot more shy, but she was happy all the same, as the small, cautious smile on her face revealed as she stopped a few feet from P'rth and Aith. "Hey." she said again, voice softer. "We're here, as you can see." Amara added, another grin gracing her face.[/blockquote]

P'rth grinned as he noticed the Black landing only a small distance away. He said nothing as he watched it land and his rider dismount. Aith stood back on her hind legs and warbled to Vee happily.
Veejarth! Yes, you have come! She crooned as she fell back to all fours and looked at Hers.
I do believe she got your letter, P'rthMine, Aith teased slightly as she pressed her nose to his chest again.
''Yes, Aith, my love. I think she did,'' He muttered as he patter her forehead a few times before turning to Amara.
''How are you today, Dear Amara?'' He spoke in a quiet voice, slight content emotion seeping through as he let a small grin form on his icy face.
Oh stop the small talk! Aith let out a sound that she often made when overly excited. The tip of her tail twitched as she looked back at Vee and stretched her neck out so that her nose was closer to him. She said nothing, but the happy color in her eyes showed how happy she was to see her companion.

How could I not? The black was happy to see them, but not as happy as Aith appeared to be. He was happy, but not overly so. There were so many other things he could be doing right then - seeing the world with His or fighting monsters in the underbelly of the Weyr - but instead they were here. Not that Veejarth minded, really. Aith was good company, and His was always happy with Aith's. Well, most of the time. She always did seem a little on edge when around Aith's, but she was still happy. That was His. On edge, but still happy. Amara could see his lips moving as he patted Aith's head not that long after she pressed her muzzle against his chest. Amara smiled at the antics of the pinkpair, waiting patiently for them to notice her. The fact that they might have noticed her and were simply happy that she was there didn't pass through her mind, and Veejarth was a little busy to be reminding her that that might be the case, so she waited. When P'rth turned towards her, she offered up another grin, though this one was more forced, some of her worry seeping out of her mind and into her expression. "I am well." she said with a smile, not allowing herself to dwell on the possibilities of what "dear Amara" might be. "And you?"Veejarth crooned a response to Aith's happy noise as he lumbered towards her, as awkward on the ground as he had ever been since the day he'd hatched. When he reached her, he crooned again. It is good to see you, as always, Aith. he said happily, twitching his tail in the air. "So... Will you be going to the Gather?" Amara questioned P'rth. She herself was planning on going, but she wanted to know if P'rth was going. If he was, she might be able to see him at the Gather! And maybe she'd get to see Jasra as well! A smile stretching across her face at the thought, Amara straightened up, forcing herself not to slouch. She was far too happy to slouch![/blockquote]

P'rth let a small smile stretch across his face.
NO SMALL TALK! Aith crooned as she looked over at Hers once more. Happiness and excitement bubbled in her, almost boiling over in her chest.
''Well, I was gonna' see if you wanted to tag along with me? I mean, if you want to. Could be just like when we were younger...except for the whole getting into trouble... rather not get into trouble...'' He frowned slightly as he thought about being yelled at and punished for something stupid he and Amara had done.
Maybe thats why shes so shy...Because I got her into so much trouble when we were little, P'rth said to Aith silently as he held in a chuckle. He could not hide the smile that formed on his face. The smile was out of place, but it wasn't unwelcome. He didn't mind showing emotion to Amara. It was his long lost companion after all.
P'rthMine...You wish she was more than just a long companion...do you not? Aith asked with curious eyes.
P'rth only looked at his rosy pink dragoness for a moment then rolled his eyes and looked back at Amara.
Aith sighed and turned back to Vee. Fly? Just over Ours? She asked with happily shaking muscles. She wanted to move, to do something to let all of her excitement out. She could think of no better way than a fun flight with Vee!

Amara was quiet, listening to his words and waiting eagerly for him to finish talking so that she could reply without looking like an idiot. Inside, she was practically dancing with glee, though. "I'd love to come with you, P'rth!" she grinned sunnily at him, moving closer so that she could throw her arms around his torso. "I might even put up with getting in trouble." she added, grinning as she pulled back, spinning in a delighted circle. "I won't even have to go alone!" she paused, "Thanks, P'rth." She added, feeling a little shy now that that blast of happiness was out of the way.
It made her happy to see him smile, though. He smiled so rarely that those smiles that occasionally graced his face were worth remembering. When she'd first met him, he hadn't been smiling half as often, and he rarely smiled, even now. But now he was smiling, and had done so twice within one candlemark. This was worth remembering. "You're smiling." she commented absently, "You don't smile much. And that makes twice since I've shown up." Or maybe it had been more? But in her own absent way, she was making an observation that greatly surprised her.
Veejarth flared his wings, stretching. AmaraMine, do not lose track of the time, all right? he spoke directly to His before turning his head towards Aith, responding happily to the Pink. I would be honored to escort you. he added with a croon, AmaraMine will be able to reach me if she needs me, and that is what matters. he grinned draconically at Aith, flicking his tail in the air. "I won't, I won't." Amara replied absently aloud to Veejarth, her eyes focusing on P'rth as she attempted to read his expression. When he wasn't smiling, he was such a mystery. And Amara certainly loved challenges every once in a while. Now was such a time. She felt the urge to figure out what he was feeling right then, and she wasn't going to give up until she'd come up with a satisfactory idea of what he was feeling. He was, after all, her P'rth and her friend since long before she'd Impressed Veejarth. There was Jasra, of course, but that was beside the point.[/blockquote]

P'rth was caught by surprise, to say the least, when Amara threw her arms around him. He jumped slightly, and looked at her with shocked slivery eyes.
''It's not a problem...'' He said slowly, still a little surprised. He blinked a few times, pushing the odd amazement from his mind. He reached back and scratched the back of his neck, slightly uneasy now. He didn't like surprises too much, and now wasn't much of an exception. The only thing that made this...surprise...alright was the fact that it was Amara.
When he finally regathered himself, he looked back at her and then felt self concious, which was rare, but it happened. What did I do? he wondered, wondering why she was looking at him like that.
''Did I do somethin'?'' He finally asked with a slight frown. One eyebrow raised slightly in question and his head tilted to the side ever so slightly.
Aith crooned happily and slowly spread her pink wings.
Be overhead, Mine. She announced to P'rth quickly before her wings began to beat the air and she slowly lifted towards the sky. At first, her wind beats were quick and heavy, but the higher she got, the more relaxed the beat became, and lighter. Soon she was over head, circling, looking down at Vee as she warbled and waited for him.
Come on, Veejarth! She called to him, ready to flying-pounce on him at any time. Though she knew she had to be a bit more careful with him than others, he was just a weyrling after all, but that didn't mean they couldn't have fun!
