In all honesty Kire knew she would be exhausted the following day but she just so loved to watch the Whers and their handlers. She loved everything about the creatures, the way they moved and, more importantly, how they were so different to Dragons. It was night and she knew that she probably shouldn't be outside at night without a cause but one could hardly be upset with her if she was here to help clean right!? She was doing chores that she didn't even have to all for the hopes of seeing some of the Whers running. They were so majestic that the fear of being yelled at for doing extra chores in an area not typically cleaned by candidates simply disappeared. She had been here before, performing similar tasks on a regular basis merely to give herself something to strive towards. In her time of performing this ritual she had yet to be caught in the act.
She had to be up early, this she knew, but she also knew that there would be those Wherhandlers who would come out at night for various reasons and, as the sun had all but disappeared, she knew the photosensitive creatures would be emerging soon. She wandered around holding a broom with a slightly vague air about her. If she looked natural then no one would question her being here. So, she attempted to act natural. Instead of appearing natural this merely seemed as though she was confused and lost. She had spotted a couple of the Dragons and their riders landing as the sun had set. She had never even thought about being a Dragonrider but she also considered dragons a little showy. Whers were never acknowledged as they should, being able to complete so many tasks. Most considered them trivial but Kire knew how important they really were.
She wandered along holding a battered, old broom she herself had bought with some savings for just this purpose. If Kire had been found out then she would have run, obeying any order given to her. As it happened she figured she needed to get used to the night anyway so there was no harm in being out in the dark...

No.
"But Dusk!"
No!
"Dusk..."
NO! I refuse leave Dalibor for visit. This home now. Not love me?
Durene looked down at the Green Wher that stood in front of her. She had been trying to convince the Green to maybe be carried by a dragon to go home and visit her old Hold. She wanted to show her previous fiance that women could Impress Whers. There were plenty of women here who had Impressed. There was Nadya, Bri, Baharl, and others. But the Green was being adamant about not leaving the Weyr. Well, the Green had inherited her mother`s lack of desire of being carried by a dragon. Durene could not quite figure it out, but it seemed most Whers did not like being carried by dragons. Was it because they did not feel like being shown off as something inferior to something superior? She wondered if that was the case.
No. Dragons dragons. Whers whers. We different! the Green, being a moody mode tonight.
Durene sighed as she walked with the Green beside her. Well, she figured never seeing her old Hold was an okay thing. After all, O`ris was here. He had never looked back. In fact, he had never written home once. It was not like he turned his back on his family and friends, he just knew that his loyalties and attentions laid elsewhere. And that was here, at Dalibor, as a WeyrlingMaster, among the elite. And he had someone he loved. Durene smiled. She remembered when O`ris use to crush on her. He and her previous fiance had fought over her attentions when they had been kids. But O`ris was like a brother to her. She could never see him as anything else. Which was good. Cause now she had her own things to worry about.
She kept walking until she came across a young woman who looked like she was lost and confused. She blinked a few times before she approached her. Dusk was unsure about the other lady, but it may have been because she was feeling a bit moody at the moment. Then again, the Green figured it was Durene`s fault because the woman had brought up the subject of visiting some stupid place. Durene shot the Green a look, and the Green looked away for a breif second. Okay, she would shut up about that now. Durene put on a kind smile as she came up to Kire. "Hello, you look like you are a little lost. Of course, I am very surprise to see someone up this late that is not a Handler. Unless you are a Candidate or a night worker," Durene said kindly. "My name is Durene, Handler of Green Dusk."
The Green looked at Kire. Her eyes went from a slight orange to green. Hello. I Dusk, she said as pleasantly as she could.

Kire kept sweeping as she spotted a few Whers leaving their caverns but just about jumped out of her skin when she heard someone nearby speak. She turned, eyes widening as she saw a Wher! The small Green was simply gorgeous and had such a lovely colour. She couldn't wait until she herself was chosen by one of the wonderful creatures. The green Whers were always rather small but then again all Whers were. Despite their stunted look Kire found this their most endearing feature. She was about to make a response about not being lost when the Green Wher spoke. She was truly honoured to have been spoken to by the Wher that she was momentarily rendered speechless.
"Oh! Greetings Durene, Handler of Green Dusk and Dusk!" She replied inclining her head slightly in something of a bow, "It is truly an honour! I'm Kire and yes I am a Wher candidate. One of the lucky few."
She smiled happily forgetting the fact that she was supposed to be asleep right now not actually out and about. It didn't worry her too much though. She knew she wouldn't be the only one who was tired the following day. She'd seen a couple of the boys practically asleep in their breakfast sometimes. She generally managed to stay awake but only because she knew she had to.
She was just so surprised to be spoken to by one of the Handlers, and in such a candid way, that she wasn't entirely sure what she should be saying next. She just stood there looking like some sort of strange person with no clue as to what was actually happening. She supposed she should rearrange her features a little so that she didn't look so dumbfounded or spaced out. She tried to do so but wound up with a look of near admiration. She was pleased that she hadn't been yelled at... Yet...
"I hope that the night has treated you both well thus far." She said after a moment.
