The triggered disapproval from Bai shifted Z'dyn's attention back from C'ian to his Iron. There was a small sigh, before he rubbed at the scarred side of his face, twisting at the abrupt location where his ear stopped, beneath his rather thick, black, dreadlocked mane.
"I fig're I better get us back t'the lower caverns. Got chores still t'do, an' don't wanna keep Bai out here too long. He'll start likin' it, an' next thing ya know, won't be able t'get him inside for nothin'."
Zeke rose, dusting off his breeches and rinsing the dirt off his shirt before it was slung over his shoulder. The scars from the wild wher's attack were visible when he stood up, but were quickly masked by the shirt stretched across his frame.
"C'mon, Bai. Tell Shirath g'bye, an' we'll talk to 'em later. Gotta get these chores done b'fore we get yelled at, aye?" He looked back to C'ian. "Was nice talkin' to ya, C'ian. Not often I get to just...I dunno...hang out for a while. Take care'a Shirath, an' we'll see you two later, yeah?"
Bai shifted, drifting slightly away from Shirath with what the dragonet hoped was a kind expression.
Mine and I must go do chores. Much work to be done before Threadfall, and Mine worries a lot about it. I will go help and keep him company. It was nice to swim with you, Shirath, take care of yours, yes?
With that, the Iron dragonet swam to the shoreline, pulling himself up on the sand and following beside Z'dyn as they headed for the entrance to the lower caverns.

C’ian glanced at Z’dyn again and noticed that he was touching the scars on his face. There was most certainly a story behind that and something that had been said had triggered Z’dyn being conscious of it. He wasn’t sure what it was, nor what he could say but couldn’t help feeling a little bad when Z’dyn decided they had to leave. It made C’ian a little concerned that he had said something to upset the other Weyrling. Well, at least he seemed somewhat cheerful still. He laughed at Z’dyn’s comment about Baihujinth.
“Fair enough! I’ve probably got something useful to be doing too. Well, we always need more dragon swimmers in the Weyr.”
He noticed the scars on Z’dyn’s back and frowned at them briefly. Not being one to worry about the physical appearance of others he shrugged it off. He could have said something to the other male but figured it would be impolite at this point in time. They barely knew one another but perhaps one day he would be able to ask without fear of being considered rude. It was just one thing about impressing Shirath. He got to see exactly what it would be like if he wore his opinions and emotions on his sleeve.
“Yeah it was great fun! We’ll se you around no doubt about that.”
He doubted he would be able to keep Shirath from the iron…
Oh what a shame! Farewell most illustrious iron! I will take care of Mine for it is what you, my brother, wishes.
He watched as the iron walked away and then waded onto the shore where His stood looking after the other Weyrling pair with a frown. Oh let us go find someone else to marvel at my brilliance!
C’ian grinned and then turned to launch himself at Shirath, climbing on the purple. Shirath whined pathetically and then trudged forward a few paces before he collapsed on the grass. You are too heavy… Go steed go!
They would be a long time getting to the Lower Caverns at this rate…
