DECLINED.
On Pern, dragons have to be Impressed to a human because they were genetically engineered to be dependent on such a partner; they cannot be feral. The idea was to keep a much bigger and stronger dragon from being able mentally capable of causing harm to any human. Going more into detail with the application, there's a lot of other things that make Midnight, or information in the application, incorrect for a Pernese dragon. Most of the sections need a lot of rewriting but here are a few simple changes for this moment:
- All Pernese dragons have names that end in 'th', such as 'Kalith', 'Daidoroth', 'Oveth'. Midnight could be changed to something like 'Midnith' if you wanted to, or you could change it all together.
- 'Juvenile' doesn't mark a proper age; young dragons are generally called 'dragonets' or 'weyrlings' (though weyrling is more typically a term for riders of young dragons). Age is marked in turns (years).
- Holds, like Crom, are where everyday people live. Weyrs, like Dalibor, are where dragons and their riders live. He would have lived his whole life, with his rider, at a Weyr since his birth.
- Dragons have specific colors depending on gender, size, personality, and rank. He could be a black or a purple or a blue, or a bronze or an iron if you wanted a metallic colored male.
