Someday love will find you Break those chains that bind you One night will remind you How we touched And went our separate ways
It had not even been half a Turn since she had Impressed Gneith, and already she was finding life so very difficult. Since T`zar`s Impression to a Green as well, he had been nothing but depressive since. And the other two boys that she had been chasing- well, she considered herself still chasing them but on hold until the WeyrlingMaster gave her permission to go after them again- were so hard to reach. There was L`ven and his Bronze and K`ber with his Iron. They were King Riders. She felt so smart and stupid at the same time. Smart because the two guys she had chossen to crush on and go after turned out to be so great they Impressed Kings. But she felt so stupid because now that they were King Riders, they would never look at her anymore. She was a Green Rider. She loved Gneith. Loved her to the end of time itself. But her chances to be with one of them were a bit dashed now because they would look at Queen Riders rather than her.
She sighed as she patted the Green`s head next to her. Well, she would try to be optimistic about while still having fun. But, she was feeling a bit left out of things. There was that Cyan Rider- O`ris, wasn`t it?- that would sit outside the Weyrling Barracks everyday and pine over a love he could not have. And then there was R`ori who had F`let chasing after them. Oh well, that was the flirt in her coming out, and as a Weyrling she was not allowed to even touch a guy`s hand. She felt her mind descending from that thought, but she could make it. Just a another Turn or two and she will be fine. Ha! A turn or two. And with so many people Impressing to dragons with different genders from their own (male dragons to female Riders), she was better off just asking for a girl to come into her weyr. Argh! If Impressing Gneith told her anything, it was that she liked guys. Stupid hormones! She had to get her mind on something else. That was why she came to the Weyrbowl today. So she could keep herself occupied with watching traffic. Some traffic. Nobody, not even a Fire Lizard had passed by.
Pretty looked up from her curled position in Lynx`s lap. She heard the Fire Lizard thought and chirped. Lynx smiled. It was very odd how her Fire Lizard and dragon had the same personality. Gneith had been the loudest of her clutchmates when she Hatched, trying to roar in her squeaking voice to get Lynx`s attention. And then Pretty had done the same thing, chirping loudly before going up to Lynx and nearly trying to deafen the girl`s ears. She chuckled faintly. It was amazing. She loved her pair. She could ask for nothing more. Well, except a bed with a nice warm....
What was that? Gneith asked, looking up.
"Nothing, love," she replied, blushing slightly. She had to get a control of herself. Six months had gone by. She could last longer. She could do it! She hoped....
If he ever hurts you True love won't desert you You know I still love you Though we touched And went our separate ways

Where are we going, Mine? I haven't decided yet, dear. But I'm going stir-crazy with nothing to do. You miss your old life... It wasn't a question so much as a statement. Sometimes. But I wouldn't trade you for anything. Just wait until we can fly - we'll be the terrors of the weyr.
The blue snorted indignantly, but his eyes were swirling a content sea-green. Padding softly at his rider's side, as he made a habit of doing, he surveyed their surroundings as they crossed the weyrbowl. Even he was feeling the slow days, as of late - aside from weyrling lessons and chores, there wasn't much of anything to do. Much of anything weyrlings were allowed to do, actually. And Kyril's craft had always kept her busy in the past - now, with so much free time on her hands, she was having a difficult time keeping her restlessness from Ripariath who, to his credit, was doing his best not to let it affect him.
Kyril ran a restless hand through her still-short auburn hair, that was for once almost-composed and not streaked with soot. Surveying the bowl, she tried to scrounge up something useful that she could do - and came up blank. Sighing, she paused, thrusting her hands into her pockets and rocking back on her heals. It was Ripariath who, after a moment, found something he thought might solve the problem.
Look there, Mine. It is Gneith and Hers.
Following the direction in which the blue gestured with his tail, she spied the pair a few yards off. After another moments thought, she shrugged, and set off in their direction. It was about time she started socializing, anyway. Almost six months in the weyr and she couldn't claim any friends - merely acquaintances.
Good call, dear. Upon reaching Lynx and Gneith, she nodded a somewhat shy greeting, worrying that the two might not be interested in a conversation at all. Aloud, she said:
"Hello there. Mind if we join you?"
OOC. Not my best post of all time. x) But I forced myself to sit down and write it - I've been terribly busy, but didn't want to keep you waiting any longer. ^^ Will Bre be joining us?

Holding back, And not getting too carried away, Let the music fade.
Silent communication was the preferred method of talking between Detritath and K'ber. Both offered a word in edgewise if they thought it was really necessary, but neither of them were properly talkative enough to make up for the other. So, they kept their solace, and somehow stayed in sync. It made sense that, even though still a young weyrling and a young dragonet, they were very in tune with each other and what they were both thinking. Or, well, at least Detritath always seemed to know what K'ber was thinking. It couldn't be that hard. It often had to be with swimming, which the iron was happy to do. It was good for building muscles, his rider had explained to him; he was going to be a proper, strong, commanding king, so he was happy to do anything that would help that, and keep his rider happy. So, he paddled about the lake, extended wings clipping through the water to either side . His rider was always disappearing, twining about beneath him.
Someone spoke a ways away from them, and Detritath turned his head to hear who it was. He didn't recognize the voice. His gently whirling, blue eyes settle on the site of the forms of two of his clutchmates - green Gneith and blue Ripariath. It had been the finely colored male's that had spoken, but it was the connection of Gneith to Hers that engaged the interest of the level, withdrawn growing King. He took a paddle forward. Just behind him, K'ber surfaced, shaking water from his face and shaggy dark hair, and turning to find where his dragon, his new, constant, reassuring, confidence presence. Where are you going? The question was asked with a soft, mental voice. It went unanswered. The iron paddled right on forward, stalked up onto shore, and headed for where Gneith's, or Lynx, even though she was Laura, he remember, as His always called her. He was intent. He had made a decision, and didn't feel the need to explain, or to falter a step.
Hello Ripariath, Gneith. Detritath settled by the two other dragonets, greeting them concisely but amiably. His level of manners and connection of thought did not extend to ask for an invitation to join them like the blue's own had.
Breast stroking to the shore and hauling himself to the feet, K'ber hurried after his dragon. It wasn't till he was halfway there that he understood who the iron had found. He sort of remembered who Kyrillion and her blue were; they seemed nice. He definitely knew who Lynx and Gneith were. After the party, he hadn't really spoken to her effectively, though he'd seen her, every single time, at their weyrling lessons. Sometimes when they had chores. He'd mainly been paired with Avalle and L'ven though, and he mainly left them to talk, not really socializing well with them. The goldrider was nice; he felt some small streak of rivalry with the bronzerider though. Maybe having to do with Lynx. Realizing that he was shirtless and dripping water, he slowed and halfheartedly approached the girls. "Um, hey . . . Lynx . . . and, uh, Kyril, right?" It wasn't the poor boy's fault he was inconveniently always missing his shirt when he wasn't at lessons or chores, since he was always out swimming.
This is getting better, Just butterflies won't do, I don't want just red lights.

Gneith was the first to hear noises. Stepping noises. The Green looked up and saw the Blue and his Mine. Her eyes began to whirl faster when she saw them. Lynx was trying to remember the girl`s name, but was coming to a blank.
Ripariath! Gneith called out, happy to him.
Lynx looked at her dragon. How do you manage to remember their names?
Because dragon names are not that hard to remember. You humans have such odd names that it is always hard to remember, she replied.
Lynx gave a slight chuckle. Our names are hard? Our names are actually easy to remember. Most names are between two a several letters. Dragons like to have complicated names.
And humans have complicated names. So we are even. But I will always remember your name, LynxMine, Gneith said loving. She stood up to meet her Blue brother.
Lynx stood up after Gneith and smiled at the girl. "No, I don`t mind you joining us," she said, moving Pretty from her lap to a place on her shoulder. "In fact, this was why we came here. We were kind of bored and just looking for something to do."
Mine! Look! It is Detritath! The Green turned her head to the approaching Iron, her eyes becoming a very happy green color. Hello Detritath. How are you and your Mine doing? And also with you Ripariath? she asked politely.
That was a dragon name that Lynx remembered very quickly. She looked up and around, trying to find K`ber. Why was she looking around so much? She must have been kind of obvious while doing so. She turned back at Kyril and gave her a smile before she finally spotted K`ber in the corner of her eye. She turned and smiled at him, trying not to look too pink in the face. She could just blame it on Pretty, saying the Fire Lizard was really warm. "Hello, K`ber? How are you doing you doing?" she asked, trying to sound polite and not so much like a girl who was crushing on a guy big time.

Ripariath quickened his pace, placing himself slightly in front of his rider. It was a protective gesture, but one he couldn't help - still, the swirling sea-green of his eyes betrayed his happiness when he greeted his green sister.
Hello, Gneith! His greeting was cut short by the arrival of the Iron and his rider. Sitting back on his haunches, he ruffled his wings pleasantly and dipped his head in a more formal greeting to the young king. And to you as well, Detritath. Mine is restless, but well. What of you and Yours? The question was directed at both of his siblings, and his mind-voice was pleasant and polite.
"Us as well," Kyril said in response to Lynx's comment, "I'm so used to being busy, you know? It's strange not having much to do. But I suppose that'll change as they grow, huh?" She gestured fondly to Gneith and Ripariath - and then noticed Detritath, and the shirtless boy who came stumbling behind him. She recognized him, of course, and spent a moment trying to drudge up his name from her memory - and failed. Luckily, Lynx seemed to remember it - and Kyrillion did not fail to notice the enthusiasm with which she greeted the boy, or the blush that crept up the other girl's cheeks. She suddenly felt a bit uncomfortable, as though she were intruding. And she herself couldn't help but notice that K'ber really was quite attractive. And shirtless. Oh, dear.
Carefully schooling her expression into one of pleasant nonchalance, - she couldn't be sure she succeeded, but she did at least try - she nodded at K'ber's greeting. She didn't mind the use of her nickname - he probably didn't remember her full one, and she'd have asked him to call her Kyril, anyway. Clasping her hands behind her back to keep them from fidgeting, she smiled faintly but genuinely.
"Hello."

So stand in the rain, Stand your ground, Stand up when it's all crashing down.
Mine is fine; the iron answered his two siblings simply. He then turned his head towards Gneith, expectant of her answer to the question about how her rider was from their brother. There was something steadfast and firm in his silence. He wanted to be a part of the conversation, even if he wasn't saying much. Words were precious and needed to be conserved. He spoke truth in every word; he was utterly honest. He did everything for a purpose; he was going to be something, if he could be something. Every was so simple and clear cut for him. Thus, he had a purpose in coming over to greet the blue and the green. It had to do with his rider, not him, though, of course, they were connected. One in two, forever.
Words had been so much easier when they were necessary since he'd Impressed Detritath. He wasn't anymore social, but he was more confident. Now all that came crashing down. He was a fool. He was embarrassed. That was all because of Lynx, but Kyril didn't exactly help any. She had nice hair. And was a girl. Even though he was going to be out of being a teenager soon, he hadn't exactly mastered dealing with girls. He was working on it. "I'm, uh, very good. Detritath and I were swimming;" he stated, as if the last part wasn't obvious since he was still shedding water from his shaggy hair. Not from his shirt though, because, you know, he was missing that. It was somewhere on the lake shirt. He wanted it.
Detritath thought of something vitally important to add to the conversation with his clutchbrother and clutchsister. Yes, I was swimming with Mine. He explained how it builds muscle, so I'll be able to fly better. As you can see, Mine is very muscular; he told them, expectant that their riders would catch on like he was sure that his would. K'ber did, and he stared at his iron with his dark eyes bugging out. What was he doing? He'd never mentioned that he . . . liked Lynx very much to the little twerp. His expression settled slightly, not shocked anymore, and he just blushed a bit. Of course, the little smarty figured out that he liked her at least, even if he didn't understand. The iron wasn't exactly the emotional sort.
You won't drown, And one day what's lost can be found, You stand in the rain.

Gneith seemed to nod at Detritath`s answer. The Iron then looked her way, and she knew it was her turn to speak. Mine and I are doing quite well. Shortly after she Impressed me, she Impressed to a little Pink Fire Lizard that she named Pretty. Pretty and I get along decently well. But Mine has also been thinking a lot, telling me that it will okay and one day I will understand why, she replied, her eyes whirling in shades of greens and blues. She knew that her Mine was constantly thinking about two guys, mainly one, and that she liked both guys. But Gneith was never allowed past that thought. Every time Gneith tried to pry her way further, Lynx always seemed to know and changed her thoughts to how much she loved Gneith and Pretty. Gneith knew that her Mine was just trying to look out for the best for her.
Then came Detritath`s comment about them swimming and build strong muscles.Gneither passed the comment onto Lynx, not realizing what she had done when she did that. Lynx turned a very light shade of pink. It was enough trying to keep her eyes from constantly staring at K`ber, trying to watch Kyril face when she talked and her hand movement also when she talked. Gneith picked up on this blush through Lynx`s mind and then realized that K`ber was on of the two guys she thought about constantly. Mine, your face is turning somewhat pink.
I know, Lynx replied, hoping the Green would not pry anymore than this.
You like him, the Green said bluntly to her.
Lynx knew that she had been caught by her dragon. Even though she did not reply to the comment, Gneith knew that Lynx would not lie to her dragon. she quickly asked Gneith not to mention it to the others and that they would talk about it later. Maybe in a way that Gneith would understand without messing up the Green`s mind. They were still just almost half a Turn old, yet they were still learning about things. Lynx looked over at K`ber and gave him a sweet smile, still trying her best to ignore that he was standing there without a shirt on and still dripping wet from swimming. "Swimming really isn`t bad, whether it be exercising or just for fun. MAybe Gneith and I should follow your example and go swimming every other day. That way I can help Gneith build up her muscles too," she replied. She then turned to Kyril, not really wanting to forget that the other girl was with them. "What do you think, Kyril? It would give you something to do since you mention you did not have much to do. Maybe we could all plan an swimming outing for tomorrow?" she suggested.

Ripariath made short work of relaying Detritath’s comments about swimming and building muscles to Kyrillion, and then she was blushing, too. This was all getting to be a bit awkward. Still, she was doing her best to keep the amiable smile firmly in place, and to keep the blush from her cheeks. Ripariath, by now, had caught on to the undercurrent in the human’s conversation, even if he wasn’t entirely sure what it was. And he found it curious that His was refusing to explain it to him. Humans were such strange creatures.
Kyrillion, for her part, gratefully shifted her attention to Lynx as the girl took over the conversation and provided a welcome distraction. And what she suggested... well, it would certainly give her something to stave off the boredom. And getting Ripariath fit should certainly be a priority - he was already impatient to fly. It seemed to her a very good idea, in fact.
"I think it sounds like a great idea - if K’ber doesn’t mind, of course." She nodded briefly at him - she didn't want to intrude, if he’d rather exercise alone or something of the sort. "I haven’t been swimming... since I was Searched, I guess. And Rip loved it, the few times I took him down to the lake."
Ripariath was listening avidly to the conversation, his eyes swirling thoughtfully. To Gneith, he said, Mine has no firelizards, but I have rather liked the ones I have seen around the Weyr. They are curious little creatures, are they not?
To his, privately, he said: Mine, why do you like seeing Detritath’s without his shirt on? ..... Whatever gave you that impression? You did. You thought it just now. No I didn’t it!

And I don't want the world to see me, Cause I don't think that they'd understand, When everything's made to be broken.
K'ber was trying to figure out a way to escape the horrible situation he was in, hopefully for the betterment of the girls as well as himself. He tilted his head forward, pushing some of the bangs he normally hated towards covering his eyes, and looked out from under him. The other two were blushing just as he was. Both of them were blushing. Huh. He hardly knew Kyril. Which probably made the whole him being shirtless thing even worse. Right. "Well, if you want to come swim with me tomorrow, that's fine. I'll be down there after lunch till just before dinner, like I usually am;" he replied to their idea of an outing. He went swimming every day. He still wasn't in the water as much as he had once been. It was easier to talk about than awkward greetings and snippets of conversation.
I do not mind the firelizards. Mine does not have one, though he does not mind them either her. He prefers doll . . . dollfins; Detritath replied to his siblings, struggling over the word for the animal that he had never seen before except as pictures in his rider's mind. He eyed Pretty by Lynx with a critical, swirling eye. He didn't understand firelizards. He preferred humans and dragons, and that was all. Mine has been thinking too. Someone about a party and people; he added, more to Gneith though Ripiaraith was more than welcomed to give input since he spoke to the blue as well as the green. He didn't sound concerned about it. He was busy pushing his rider.
Figuring that he could get away now since they'd scheduled another time he would be forced to talk awkwardly with them until he figure out how to fix that, he excused himself. "So, uh, I'll see you tomorrow, I guess. I should get back;" he explained. The last part wasn't that sensible since he didn't have anyone he had to report to for awhile, but it was too late for him to think better of it after he spoke. Smiling sheepishly, he started to walk off. He turned back and waved to the girls, relaxing more and becoming more charmingly natural as he moved away. "Come on, Detritath;" he said, voice firm. With great dignity, the iron picked himself up and followed after his rider. He also turned back, before he reached the patiently waiting youth, and excused himself. In his own way.
Mine can teach Yours how to breath better too. He's very good at it. I hope we'll see you and Yours tomorrow; he said. Knowing that his rider was giving him that 'what in the world?' look again in horrified confusion, he hurried along to catch up with the tall, strong figure that was the his that was his forever but who he was willing to share. With the prince of a King at his heels, the ex-dolphineer ran for the shores of the lake a couple hundred feet away. He raced right up onto a boulder that stuck out into the water. He leaped off the other side in an arcing dive. Detritath waded back into the water towards him much slower.
Or the moment of truth in your lies, When everything seems like the movies, Yeah, you bleed just to know you're alive.
