It was a rather striking day, the sky was blue the grass was green...the water was clear and warm, and a soft breeze blew lazily about. It was a perfect day to be outside, all in all, and that was just what the dancer was up to.
The young man peacefully kicked his feet in the water as he laid back on a sunning stone, arms folded behind his head and eyes closed. A content smile was on his lips as he hummed absently to himself, the twin flits sprawled out together one one side of him swinging their tails in time to his lazy beat.
Doppelith was spread completely out--mimicking Run and Ram--behind the dancer, the tips of his wings hanging over the stone and his tail curled around a smaller rock just behind him. The Purple's head was beside His's, his eyes whirling peacefully behind closed lids and a rumbling hum reverberating in his chest as well.
Yes indeed, it was a peaceful day, a day where not even the most active of weyrlings was content to just...lay around. Even the devil-flits themselves were still, and tiny Queen--perched upon Doppelith's head--was quiet, her timidly cheerful voice quieted.
"Ah~ We need more days like this."

Mine, you have to get up now. No response. Don't you want to see the world, mine? Still no response, and now Vediameth was getting tired with Her's actions. He was sleeping inside when outside was full of beauty and wonder and interesting things to look at! Of course, Vediameth's sympathetic nature had let her wait patiently for Hers to get up for a while, but she could only be patient for so long. Even Phareon, the miniature dragon that amused Vediameth to no end was asleep, curled up next to R'ori. She nudged at the Bronze first, attempting to wake him so maybe he could, in turn, help her wake R'ori. It didn't work, and all Phareon did was curl up in a tighter ball. Well, Vediameth was not going to stand for this! So with one quick movement she pulled the covers off of Hers and the firelizard, waking both of them and sending R'ori (who liked to completely wrap the furs around himself) tumbling to the floor. There, now you are awake, Vediameth commented with a hint of amusement in her voice, watching as Hers grumbled and tried to figure out what had just happened. He tossed his black hair back into place and sat up, rubbing his eyes tiredly. Vediameth... couldn't you let me sleep just a little longer... he whined, slowly getting to his feet. Phareon was still tangled in the furs. If you slept any longer it would become tomorrow, Vediameth purred affectionately, pushing under the furs to see what exactly was moving around so much. She discovered Phareon, and allowed the Bronze to climb up and sit on her head, as an appology for getting him tangled like that. Besides, he was interesting, and he wasn't very heavy, since he wasn't too big of a Bronze. Anyway, now that he was up, R'ori decided they might as well go outside... to find some place to sleep, most likely. The lake seemed like a peaceful, tranquil place, so he decided to go there first. They could even swim or something, if they wanted to, since it was a very nice day. R'ori felt at peace, even maybe at peace with the fact that he'd Impressed a female dragon. It didn't matter much anymore to him, he was positive that Vediameth wouldn't let anyone fly her that R'ori objected to. A humming sounds first alerted him to F'let's prescense, and R'ori looked at Vediameth and shrugged, approaching the other boy. "Hey, F'let," he said casually, sitting down next to him. He didn't lay down, but looked at the water peacefully. F'let seemed calm, and his flitters and dragon seemed calm too. He could relax here. Vediameth copied the way Doppelith was laying, intriqued by it, wondering if she could get her pose to look exactly like his. Hello, Doppelith! It is a nice day, she commented, finally getting her pose to match his.[/blockquote]

Arratra emerged from the Candidate's barracks, having completed his chores. He reached up to his face and attempted to brush his fringe out of his line of sight; it was so curly it simply sprang right back and he groaned. He stroked his short, but neatly-trimmed beard with one finger, a habit he had picked up since being Searched, and flicked his cloak from his shoulders; it was a fine, if plain cream cloak with a brass clasp and hood. He also resented the hang-up at Fort; he'd missed the Hatching here by a matter of hours, and he now fully expected to be sent to another one of the Weyrs any day now. He blushed when he thought of the insults he'd served the rider with after that, followed by a tirade at her until her dragon, a red, had had enough.
He meandered down to the lake, not paying attention to where he was going, and sat down with a weary woof at the lake-shore. He fingered the ring on his right index finger, a plain silver one set with a small onyx, and muttered, "Mum, Dad, where are you? What happened to you?"

"Hm?" At the sound of a voice F'let shifted, tilting his head to see who'd intruded his naptime, only to give a broad grin in approval at the visitor. "R'ori!" He chirped cheerfully, rolling from his position to sprawl partially in the invader's lap, perhaps a bit to eagerly nuzzling his stomach.
"I haven't seen you in forever, R'ori-Ro~" He chirped, grinning up at the boy, "Have you been ignoring me?" The teenager laughed and draped his arms around the other's waist, humming merrily.
Hello, Vediameth! Doppelith replied with equal cheer, lifting up his head with his eyes whirling happily to give her a glance before settling down again. How are you and yours? Mine is very happy.

R'ori had been expecting F'let to cling to him as soon as he was recognized, so F'let sprawled out in his lap didn't freak him out as much as it used to. Was he used to it by now? Yeah, mostly. It wasn't exactly the most comfortable thing in the world and it still made him feel rather awkward, but he was used to it. He just wished F'let wouldn't nuzzle his stomach like that, it just made things even more awkward.
"Don't call me that," he said with a slight frown, looking at the boy in his lap. Nicknames really weren't his thing. And ignoring F'let? It was probably just subconsciously. It wasn't like he hated F'let or anything (if he did, he wouldn't have come over here) but the duties of a dragon just seemed to take up most of his time. "... maybe a little. But I swear it's Vediameth's fault!" he said, his frown slightly lifting at the ends into a small smile. Sorry, I required attention, Vediameth appologized, though only R'ori could hear her, so it didn't really make a difference. There was a boy off in the distance, but he didn't seem to be disturbing them or anything. However, it did make R'ori mentally panic a little. Here he was, sitting with another male in his lap with his arms around his waist and there were other people around. Okay, so maybe the other boy wasn't even looking at them... but he was still there! And R'ori couldn't help feeling more and more embarassed as he thought about it. "M-maybe you should, uh..." he wasn't sure where he was going with this, "Get... up...?" his suggestion was actually more of a question as he glanced nervously at the boy off in the distance, hoping F'let wasn't going to take offense or anything. That is very good that you and yours are well. Mine is... Vediameth thought for a moment before responding to Doppelith, Mine is happy, so I am happy, she finally decided on, looking over at the two boys before looking back at the Purple. Her eyes were whirling pleasantly and she felt completely at ease with Doppelith and His.[/blockquote]

Arratra wearily attempted to brush his fringe out of his face again; again, it simply sprang back. Shifting, he snagged a flat rock and, with a snap of his wrist, sent it skimming across the surface of the lake; it shot by straight in front of the two weyrlings. Clearing his throat, he raised his hood against the glare of the sun, then picked up another rock and flicked it out across the lake; once, twice, three times, four, five. Five skims. The best he'd done as yet in his life. But he didn't feel any satisfaction; instead he sighed.
He picked up another stone, not bothering to check the shape, and snapped his wrist. There was an immediate sound that he knew was the stone hitting the water and sinking. "Pfff."

F'let grinned and chuckled, looking up with cheerful eyes from his position practically attached to the other's hip. "alright, alright. I won't call you that." He grinned wickedly, sneakily nuzzling his way under the boy's shirt to bite him playfully, "I'll find something better to call ya." Giggling madly at his victory he shifted his position to lie on his back, still partially sprawled in the boy's lap and positively brimming with glee. "Blaming it on your dragon? How rude." A disapproving frown spread onto the teenager's lips, only to melt away as he sat up a bit, smirking, "Well...I'll forgive you...." He bit his lip, glancing away and then back with a sheepish grin, "...buuut...you'll have to give me something first. Otherwise I'll have to hold a grudge, R'o-R'o."
"Get up?" A brow arched, eyes narrowing as his bottom lip stuck out in a clean pout, big brown eyes seeming to water, "But.....you're comfy..."
That's fantastic! Don't think me rude, Vediameth..but it seemed to me like Yours was...not very happy. I'm glad he is! You're so pretty, you shouldn't ever be not-happy! Doppelith lifted his head and shifted his position as he spoke, flicking his tail catishly as his eyes whirled with pleasure. He was glad his sister was glad! She should be glad! Why would anyone not want to be? It was so much fun to smile!
Mine really likes Yours too--he'd be sad if Yours was sad.

R'ori sighed, though it was really kind of a happy sigh, if there was such a thing. He was really just pretending to be annoyed. "Couldn't you just call me R'ori?" he said halfheartedly, as he didn't really think F'let was just going to give up on the nicknames just like that. It was worth a shot, though, not that he really minded the nicknames all that much... but he felt his pride required him to say something. The boy was sprawled in his lap, it wasn't like anything R'ori said was going to change anything.
He'd been about to explain why it'd been Vediameth's fault (not that she was offended, oh no, she was quite amused by R'ori's failing attempts to come up with something clever), but stopped when F'let mentioned something about making it up to him. What did this boy expect him to do? Okay, R'ori knew exactly what F'let expected him to do. "Well, what do you want?" he tried asking casually. There wasn't much he could give in the first place, really. But it was a nice day... and even though there was someone else around, they didn't seem to be paying too much attention to F'let and R'ori. So he figured they were safe.
Annddd R'ori had known F'let wasn't going to get up. "Okay, okay, fine! You can stay there, just don't cry," he muttered the last part. As comfy as F'let seemed to think he was, R'ori still felt a bit uncomfortable about it all. But Vediameth's mental soothing really helped his, er, nerves. She liked Doppelith, and she could tell taht R'ori liked F'let! There shouldn't be any awkwardness, it was just that simple! But she could also see why he felt so awkward... and she could take that as a valid reason. But they would just have to teach R'ori to accept it, that's all!
Oh, you aren't being rude. It is true, Mine was very upset at first... but I think he's okay now. Better than okay, he's definitely happy now, Vediameth affirmed to Doppelith, curling her tail around herself elegantly. I think Mine really likes Yours! He just doesn't want to admit it, for some reason, human emotions were still kind of alien. They were just so complicated! Weirdly complicated too, over such simple matters. But oh, thank you Doppelith! Vediameth was very proud of her spring green hide and her beautifully proportioned body, I think you are a very... handsome, she'd pulled that word right out of R'ori's mind, and was quite pleased with her new-found vocabulary word. Handsome![/blockquote]

Arratra picked up another rock and skimmed it; Six. Despite himself, he was rather impressed. He jumped when a voice said, "Are you Arratra Smith?" He stood up, turning. He found himself facing a well-built man similar to him in certain ways. "Who are you?" "Matren Smith." Arratra blinked, "My younger brother? Why are you here?" Matren shrugged, "I was shipwrecked outside Western Hold, and, when I heard you were here, I asked for a flight." Arratra nodded, "Well, I wasn't expecting us to meet like this."
Matren sat down with Arratra as he began skimming rocks again. He examined Arratra's ring. "Who gave that to you?" "Mum and Dad, when I was Searched." Arratra sighed, and sent another rock skipping across the surface of the lake. It hit a slight disturbance on its third skim and vanished beneath the surface.

F'let smiled, looking up at R'ori from his lap with a fond stare, tilting his head subtly, "I could..." He chirped, eyes glimmering thoughtfully as he reached up with on hand, absently running his finger's across the other's face, eyes closing in a cheerful grin, "But then what would seperate me from all the other people that R'ori talks to, hm?" He laughed and rolled over, folding his arms over the boy's lap and burrowing his face in them, humming softly to himself.
"Call me greedy, but I'd much rather be the wierdo who calls you funny things than the random fellow that you can actually forget." He snickered and rolled over again, grinning wickedly as he sat up, hands on either side of the boy's hips as he leaned in close, smirking, "What do I want?" His smirk grew, "How about a kiss? A real kiss though. Not a peck on the cheek or a peck period. I'll forgive you for a good kiss."
He shifted, moving a bit further away, and cocked his head to the side, smiling a bit mournfully, "You can pretend that I'm a girl, if you like. I know I'm a bit girly...but.." He shrugged, moving back a bit more, "Those are my terms~ A kiss from R'ori or I'll have to be angry at you for a while<3"
Doppelith nodded sagely, mimicking Vediameth's position curiously, giving a subtle humph when he couldn't exactly parrot her. A bit disappointed in his slightly larger form he sprawled out again, playfully draping the end of his tail around R'ori's waist. Mines are very strange, aren't they? I'm glad that my Mine is so open! Makes things much easier. His eyes whirled a pleased shade. Don't worry, Yours will get it someday.
The Purple chuckled and shifted again, resting his neck and head near Vediameth as he looked up at her thoughtfully, the very tip of his tail flicking as it was curled around R'ori. Handsome? He perked up a bit, eyes whirling with pleasure, F'letMine says that sometimes....its a nice word. Thank you!

He sighed again at the name thing, a slight frown on his face, but he wasn't really that upset. "Okay, okay, fine... you can use a nickname or whatever..." he responded, feeling a little embarassed. That was the least of his worries at the moment, however, as R'ori felt his cheeks grow hot at F'let's next request. A kiss wasn't that big of a deal, he'd kissed plenty of girls without really being serious about it. This felt different for some odd reason, though he assumed it was just because F'let wasn't just some random girl he'd met at a party.
That, and he was a boy.
And as sad as it was, F'let was the only real friend he had here, and R'ori didn't want to be all alone. That was just depressing. "I don't need to pretend you're a girl!" he blurted without thinking, then immediately turned a deeper shade of red, looking away. He inched a little closer to the other boy, and then was suddenly aware of Doppelith's tail wrapped around his waist. He didn't mind, and it didn't prevent him from getting closer to F'let, but it was just made him even more embarassed about the whole thing. "Okay... fine... I'll do it," he muttered. Shards... this shouldn't be too hard... right?
He finally got close enough to F'let's face, darting his eyes around at first, trying not to make completely eyecontact before eventually just breaking through his embarassment and pressed his mouth against F'let's intensely. It felt different than before, when he'd been pretending to be a girl, it felt sort of like he'd been shocked, and he didn't really mind it. In fact... it was kind of an enjoyable feeling, really....
Vediameth gave a sort of imitation of rumble in amusement as Doppelith failed at trying to immitate her. It was his fault for being so big, that was why he couldn't sit like her! Yes, that is a very good thing that Yours is so open. Not many Mines are! that was what she'd noticed in the short time she'd been around them, though maybe it was just the Mines she happened to see. I am sure he will, too! she agreed happily, watching Hers with curiosity. He may already be getting it, she commented, shifting through R'ori's thoughts.[/blockquote]

While F'let wasn't one to blush often--he'd seen...and caused...to many perverted moments to be swayed by much--a very faint one had spread itself over his bronze cheeks. The boy smiled, tilting his head, only to grin, his eyes flickering with pleasure. R'ori didn't have to think he was a girl! That meant he was thinking of F'let as F'let, not just a pretty face in the halls.
The warm fluttery feeling in his stomach was a familiar--and welcomed one--and the teenager gave a pleased sigh in his mind, melting a tad bit. As much as the other boy could deny it, there was something intoxicating about R'ori...and to know he was welcomed--if only a teensy bit--filled the dancer with glee.
The other Weyrling had a handsome face, F'let found himself remarking innerly, and it seemed all the more attractive now that he was leaning in so close...close enough for F'let to feel his breath and for him to track the boy's shifting eyes without hardly moving his own. His chest tightened at the boy's fleeting gaze, unconsciously biting his bottom lip, and he felt his heart flutter slightly. He wanted to stare at the other...long and hard..but it was clear even to F'let that R'ori wasn't...well...had no intention of doing so just yet. A shame..but it was alright.
The blackette could forgive anything so long as those warm lips were pressed against his own.
He gave an outloud sigh, closing his eyes as he unconsciously let himself move forwards, arms loosely looping around R'ori's shoulders, silently begging the other to do the same--to come closer! But it wasn't an insistant tug, his muscles slack and his thoughts concentrated on the contact--that contact he'd become addicted to in the guise of a woman--he had managed to achieve.
You might be right. Doppelith replied, eyes whirling pleasently as he rolled his gaze as well, watching the pair with a pleased look. His was very happy right now, so Doppelith was very happy. Mine is happy. He mused thoughtfully outloud, eyes whirling a shade faster as he laughed, His mind is quiet for once!

It wasn't like R'ori was totally new at this, okay!? He'd kissed before, this was just different somehow. He wasn't sure how, but it just was. He faintly thought that it could be because they were both boys, and his mind seemed to find that answer good enough. He wasn't going to touch on it anymore, and he wasn't going to think about it much anymore. That fluttery nervous feeling in his stomach? It was definitely just because they were both the same gender, and maybe because he kind of sort of a little bit liked F'let. But just a little!
However he wasn't exactly going to tell the other boy that, not for a while at least. He still felt uncomfortable, but he supposed he was just going to have to get over it. He'd gone this far to try and make it up to F'let because he didn't want the other mad at him. He definitely wasn't going to spurn his advances now. But he was going to be a little reluctant, especially in public. It'd take quite a bit of time before he was used to this in private even. Not that sitting outside by the lake was very private in the first place.
R'ori didn't know exactly what to think during the kiss, so when F'let looped his arms on R'ori's shoulders he decided he should probably do the same. F'let wanted to get closer, and R'ori was kind of keeping his distance. Hey, he was just nervous! But he leaned closer all the same, wrapping his arms around F'let's waist in an impulsive move. He very well couldn't just put his arms around F'let's neck, right?! Then there would be too many tangled arms, and it would just be more uncomfortable.
He didn't know where to look as they kissed, so R'ori simply shut his eyes as F'let had. He deepened the kiss slightly, tenatively, not sure where to go with it. It felt different than with the others he'd kissed, like this mattered more. And R'ori immediately felt stupid for thinking that, so he went back to not thinking.
Vediameth hummed happily as she watched the two boys go at it, flicking her tail back and forth in amusement. Her's thoughts were so funny! He didn't know what to think! She'd help, but somehow the Green knew that this was something R'ori had to figure out on his own. Call it a woman's intuition. Or a dragon's intuition. Mine's mind is very quiet too, she observed, nodding her head a little. They are happy because they are together, she added smartly.[/blockquote]

F'let was smiling into the kiss, his mind lazily trailing over this and that--mostly random thoughts about guess who--even as he leaned in a tad bit closer, as though gently pressing the boundaries R'ori himself had set. He wanted to be closer to R'ori, honestly. Wanted to be the one who could get away with anything in his presence. He wasn't sure why, really, but he knew that he wanted to be close to the other more than anything...if only because the greenrider to be tolerated him. Even as a friend, it would be enough--and fun too!
The blackette shifted a hair as arms slipped around his waist, a tiny, pleased sound in his throat as he subtly arched closer to R'ori, smile growing subtly as he tilted his head, deepening the kiss on his end just a sliver as he changed the angle. It was hard to not hungrily attack the other...he'd gotten used to just..insisting upon and getting what he wanted. P'nay didn't seem to mind, after all, and R'ish encouraged it(not that he slept with R'ish, the pinkrider just taught him bad things). But he knew instinctively and mentally that doing so here would be disastrous.
He wanted R'ori to trust him...and want to do more.
But all the will in the world couldn't stop him as a mischevious look glinted into eyes opened to half-mast, smile twisting as he opened his mouth and slid his tongue over the other boy's lips, only to withdraw so that their faces were mere centimeters apart. "Thanks."
I suppose you're right. Doppelith agreed, eyes whirling as he observed the pair thoughtfully, tilting his elegant head after a moment, But mine is holding back...seems like he's scared of feeling pain. He blinked, tilting his head the other way before turning his attention to Vediameth, Yours wouldn't hurt Mine, though, would he?

Vediameth's curiosity about what R'ori was doing to F'let's face was very distracting, and R'ori figured he knew why Weyrlings weren't allowed to have relationships. That thought crossed his mind only vaguely though, he didn't really care about following the rules or anything at the moment. If they were caught, then they were caught, it didn't matter to him. Though he hoped they wouldn't be caught, it's not like they'd be punished too harshly, right? Just lectured a little bit, maybe.
But R'ori figured his thoughts were not supposed to be about rule-breaking in the middle of a kiss. A really long one, for that matter. He'd kissed girls before but never this intensely. Perhaps he just wasn't very serious about them. Had he always... liked... boys? The thought made him blush even more than usual, but R'ori was sure that wasn't the case. Because he still, you know, was completely straight.
He was extremely embarrassed about this, and when he finally pried his own eyes open and stared into F'let's face as he broke the kiss it was very apparent because his cheeks were bright red. He was blushing so hard he could practically feel it. Their faces were too close, and he looked away automatically, trying to hide the fact that he was extremely embarrassed and trying to seem like he was totally cool about everything that had just happened.
"Uh, you're welcome," it was kind of an impulse answer, because R'ori really had no idea what to say after being thanked for a kiss. His mind was completely blank and it was hard to think of something smart to say. He looked back at F'let awkwardly, as if he didn't know what to do next. R'ori honestly wasn't sure if he wanted to... do more. He was still trying to convince himself that he liked girls, though he'd never felt such chemistry with a girl. It was confusing, and R'ori was easily confused.
Vediameth gave a sort of dragon frown at Doppelith, No, mine is just confused. But he would never hurt anyone! Yours should not be afraid, she responded, feeling a little lost herself. Human emotions were confusing, and R'ori's own emotions were starting to invade in hers.[/blockquote]
