Kalay is usually very cheerful; it's rare to see him in a bad mood. On the rare occasions that he is in a bad mood he usually just remains silent and won't snap unless seriously provoked. He has a tendency to forget names, particularly those of girls and no matter how hard he tries he can’t remember them. He is also easily influenced to do things for others, not that he minds, he would rather be working than feel like he isn't being useful and he feeds off the emotions of others around him. So if they’re happy he is. He can be rather mischievous at times and likes to sneak up on people. In the kitchen at Western he sometimes watched the kitchen staff’s kids for them and found that he gets along quite well with them. Maybe because he’s rather childish himself.
Appearance:
Kalay is not the tallest, at 5'8" and has a rather girlish figure, not much muscle on him at all. He has black hair which hangs down to just above his shoulder, and his bangs are just long enough to cover his eyes. He would never willingly put his hair up, as he does think he looks good like that though if it was really necessary he might be persuaded to. He doesn’t particularly like the color of his hair and he has tried effortlessly to bleach it in the sun but with no luck, it remains its dark black. Though the long hours in the sun have given his skin a darker complexion, if he doesn’t go get enough sun it will turn back to its normal paler shade. His eyes are on the larger side and a light brown, another thing he doesn’t particularly like about himself, he envies those with blue or green eyes.

Original family lives in Eastern Hold, Kalay doesn't keep much contact with them.

History:
Kalay was born into large family at Eastern Hold. At the age of seven Kalay was fostered to Southern Hold and lived with his foster mother Nanii and brother Ardan. He spent most of his time at the Hold with his "brother" and they became close friends. When Kalay turned 17 Nanii fell ill and died soon after, he and Ardan managed to survive without her for a year before Ardan was Searched to Southern. After Ardan sent back word that he had Impressed the fact that he was alone set in. After this, Kalay transferred to Western as an assistant chef and spent most of his time in the kitchen trying to make himself useful.
While he was at Western was always on the lookout for dragonriders, hoping one of them might be his brother though he knew that if his brother had Impressed less then a Turn ago he wouldn't be flying much. About a year after moving to Western he was Searched to Dalibor.
