Whers They Go a'Hunting!

Calling all WherHandlers and Candidates, Dalibor wants YOU!

Due to the current food shortage, I am calling all handlers to pull together and form hunting parties in order to supplement food supplies. The following is a list of the nights each of you have free and I ask that you generously give up at least ONE of them in order to support the Weyr. Please keep the following in mind:

• Hunting Parties should be in twos or threes, preferably at least one larger wher with a smaller one in order to have both speed and strength. You can select your own.
  
• While killing is acceptable, it is preferable if you herd the beasts rather than kill them for a more sustainable food supply.
  
• Candidates will please coordinate with the beastmasters in order to build and maintain pens for all herded beasts.
  
• Those with other responsibilities such as WM or CM are excused from hunting if they so desire should they feel it necessary to keep up with their duties.

This will be a chance for you to get to know other wherhandlers and further build teamwork skills.

The hunting parties will continue until the source of the poisoning has been found and dealt with.

I of course volunteer Tussbuul to partner up with someone from either Night 2 or Night 4. On one of those nights he has been volunteering to escort Weyrlings to the feeding pens, but I'll decide which night that is after he gets some hunting buddies.

Bear in mind that Tuss has a bad limp, so he's not going to be able to operate far from the Weyr unless someone gives him a lift.

Note 1: Slosk (a giant wild iron wher) occupies a territory that covers Dalibor's west shore and often a significant portion of the south shore. These also happen to be good foraging areas, and there has probably been a lot more activity near his lair (and less food for him) what with all the pressure to fish up the entire coast. Suffice to say he is roused and will probably not be happy if he finds anyone poaching from his territory or any strange whers there. I expect the west shore regulars to predict this, and I am just pointing it out in case someone wants to address it in their post or if a longer-term solution might result.

Note 2: Certain dragonriders (guess who) have set up snares and jaw-traps deep in the forest to try and fetch some wild wherries and the like. The wherhandlers could request these be removed prior to their hunt or they could enjoy not knowing the safety of where they are stepping.

Laurierd and Lauriesk volunteer. Lauriesk is on the smaller side, being a green, but she's surprisingly fast and an excellent tracker.

Cilia and Cilisk will be more than happy to offer up a free night or so to go hunting!

Yal, Naanell and Kire would also be willing to participate in hunts on night 2 night 3 or night 4! Naanesk is probably on the larger side, close to a brown because of his muscle weight too!

Genner and Gennesk are be volunteer! Gennesk is for hunt!

If Kisk is on night 4, Gennesk will hunt with him!

Dita and Disk are willing to help hunt! They'll even gladly fish if it will help, also: Dita would probably start making some nets, and help would be greatly appreciated.

Nymora's a candidate and an apprentice herder/beastcraft so she can help make pens and stuff. :)

Rilga is also a herder and can help with the beasts in some way!
