New Cbox Medical Rules Clarification

Hello, everybody!

The mod team has noticed some confusion over the new medical rule for the cbox. We sincerely apologize for this! We've been going through some changes we never really thought we would need to, so it's been a little bumpy.

We chose to instate a ban on all things medical so that we did not have to judge the hazy line between "acceptable" and "TMI." Please do not mention medical details in the cbox, including and not limited to notices of hospitalization, relatives' medical conditions, medical advice, medications, surgical procedures, RP-based medical/injury inquiries, and so one. We know this is a bit of an inconvenience to some of you, but you can never predict who is reading the cbox and how they might feel. The last thing we want is to make anyone uncomfortable or remind them of something that makes them uncomfortable. If you really need to talk about medical topics, you're entirely free to do so on private IM clients. :)

Though this has been a little confusing before, but we are making it clear and official now: it is okay to mention you are not feeling well. "I have a headache," "I have a cold," "I feel under the weather" are all fine, as long as you do not go into details. Also, please do not offer any sort of medical advice to other players in the cbox, especially if it is drug-related.

Medical leaves CAN be posted in the FORUMS. If you are hospitalized or foresee being out-of-commission for some time, you may post it in the 'Say Goodbye' forum. Please mark it as 'medical' in the title, just in case someone would prefer to avoid reading the post inside. This goes without saying that all leaves should be posted on the actual forum, since they are quickly swallowed up by the cbox.

Anyway, I hope that clears it up! We understand that it is a limiting rule, but for us it is the easiest way to go about protecting members and guests from reading things they don't want to read by accident. The cbox is a very public place, so please keep that in mind. :)

If you ever have any concerns, please know you can come to the mods and admins! That's what we're here for! Just because we're all fancy adults with jobs that limit our online time doesn't mean we don't love you!
