Perbiath bopped about the 'Bowl happily, on cloud nine despite the apparent orthodoxy of the day. Not only was he back in the Weyr among his fellow dragons, but he had fathered a clutch, on the Queen no less, and his beautiful babies were now a part of the Weyr as well. Life had never looked so good. It didn't t take much to make the simple Brown happy, though at the moment he had reason to celebrate in excess.
He went looking for other dragons to befriend while His attended to business with the other Weyrleaders but did not find anyone to be particularly receptive. Even their prejudices could not ruin his day though. Not today. Spotting a low, sunny ledge, Perbiath sailed over and took up residence. He settled down and streeeeeeetched out, positively radiating good cheer. Perhaps someone friendly will fly by, he thought, still optimistic. After a while though his stretch became a sprawl and he abandoned his watch. The sun was all the company he needed to have a nice day.

Honestly, moving was still something he wasn't too happy with currently, but Letorin refused to stay stuck in any one spot for long. Didn't mean that his back didn't ache. However, he was happy to get out and moving, enjoying the fresh air again. Had taken far too long to escape for the healers, but he had finally managed to do it. Had to take care of his back, but anything was better than being trapped inside.
Once he was out, he was enjoying the sun, though the air was starting to get that cool twinge to it that said that the seasons were changing. So he had better enjoy it while he could. Winter would be on them soon enough, and he'd have to deal with going out into the cold, then.
As he walked, he spotted a dragon that he knew, but had not gotten much of a chance to really sketch much. He had gotten good sketches of almost every dragon in the weyr at this point, and was working on getting as many of the whers as he could. But that was the current weyrleader's dragon. How long that was going to last, Letorin had no idea, but he knew that he needed to get the drawing of the brown down now, or else he might lose the chance. The pair were here for now, but given how he knew the other Lord Holders could be, he wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't some sort of politics on the move to make D'lios pick one or the other. The Lord Holders could be remarkably hidebound, and there was a lot of force behind the idea that the leadership of the weyr and holds should be -separate-.
In any case, not his business, other than he wanted to get that drawing down. And the brown looked amazingly laid back and relaxed, which made the teen grin as he carefully settled, pulling out what few supplies he had with him today.

Sprawled as he was, it took Perbiath a while to notice that he was being watched. Normally he would have been flattered by anything that he could construe as admiration, but the Brown had become rather grumpy. Several dragons had flown by him and then some, but none had stopped to talk with him, even when he called out a friendly hello. It didn't make sense and it wasn't fair. How could it be that even when he was their better they rejected him? He had always been a Dalibor dragon, but he felt like anything but. Perbiath had a tender heart and his feelings were easily hurt by such slights.
When it was finally a human that decided to pay him mind he let out a huffy snort and rose to his feet. He didn't want a human, he wanted a dragon. A friend. Surely such a miniscule person did not deserve to ogle him- this little Candidate with his torn mind and body and puny pencils. Flaring out his wings, Perbaith took to the sky of the Weyrbowl, a diva in flight. He alighted on one of the rocks by the far side of the lake where he could lay in peace and try to enjoy the day, thinking he had left Letorin behind. He held on to the hope that one of the dragons might still turn around yet- as the newest daddy of the Weyr he surely had some congratulations coming his way.

Letorin frowned a bit. Well, that was rude. Well, maybe not so much. Letorin had started to draw without permission. He did shift his spot so he could see where the dragon was perched. There was a moment of hesitation, and he got down another quick sketch, trying to focus on getting all the details down that he had gotten from his first study of the dragon, and a quick sketch on his wing shape. Every dragon had a slightly different shape, and he was pretty sure if he took the time to really study them, he'd be able to identify any dragon in flight, even if he couldn't actually see a color.
It was nice to draw a new dragon, as the little ones were still sticking pretty close to their riders, and he didn't want to upset them in anyway. It has been a stressful hatching, and he could imagine that the babies needed more time than normal to get settled.
After a few minutes, he got up and moved closer to the lake. He could see other dragons playing there, and washing up, and he was happy to get sketches of them as well, saying hello to the ones that he knew and who he got along with well. Though he did glance at Perbiath a few more times, getting another sketch of him where the dragon was on yet another rock. Maybe he'd get lucky later and be able to get a good feel for his coloring and markings and get those down at that time.
