Mine! Mine! Where did little Queenie go? I can't see her anymore. Oveth said, looking around the room for the Copper firelizard. B'nyur simply looked at the Blue. "Oveth, she probably is checking her eggs again. If you want to see her, just check the basket. She is usually there." He told the Blue, trying to sort the supplies in the Infirmary.
Oveth got up and walked over to the basket full of warm sand. Just as B'nyur had said, Shanza was there with her eggs. Almost as soon as the Copper noticed the Blue, a hiss escaped her. Little Queenie hissed at me Mine! All I wanted to do was see the pretty moving eggs! Oveth was stunned. B'nyur, however, immediately looked up from his work.
If the eggs were truly moving, he would need to get to somewhere that was more accomodating to large amounts of people. When the Bluerider checked the basket, there were definitely some eggs that were rocking. B'nyur picked up the basket of what looked to be twenty-three or twenty-four rocking firelizard eggs. He wasn't quite sure of the amount though, as he hadn't taken a count of them.
He did not know where to take the eggs at first. The Bowl and the Dining hall were both good places to go. He had to choose soon, and choose he did. Oveth, could you tell everyone in the Weyr that Shanza's eggs are hatching and that if they would like a chance at one of her babies, to come to the Dining hall? B'nyur asked the Blue as he made his way to his chosen area.
The Blue, though his rider couldn't see him anymore, nodded his head. Little Queenie's eggs are hatching! If you want a little dragon, Mine says you should get to the Dining hall. The message was given to those in the Weyr. Though who would hear the message just after dinner was finished, who really knows?

Hard to believe she'd already been at Dalibor for so many months, but it was indeed true, and the proof was that Phaenna had now noted a birthday since becoming a candidate. It was doubtful that anyone knew; she didn't really know anyone well enough to have told them, and would have been hesitant to call attention to herself in any case, but nevertheless, it had come and passed. She was now fifteen turns old. She harbored no hope that she would be a weyrling before her sixteenth (if, indeed, ever) but it was quickly becoming clear that she need not be alone.
The only reason she noticed the hatching of the fire lizard's clutch was that she was already in the Dining Hall when the announcement out. Though she noted the gathering crowd, she did not hurry to join it, instead hanging back for a while. She dearly wanted a pet of her own, but she was a virtual stranger here, and still regarded all dragonriders with a level of respect bordering on hero worship that made her hesitant to take the initiative.
On the other hand, she did have a birthday, and wasn't likely to receive any presents but what she might seek out on her own. It looked like there were plenty of eggs available, the mother being a copper, so it wasn't like she'd be taking one from someone else who wanted one. She gathered her courage and approached the clutch, ducking her head to avoid making eye contact with the rider. "Uh-umm, I'd kind of like one, if you don't mind," Phaenna said softly.

They probably would have been finished dinner early, but it was a busy last couple of days.... and Sandr hadn't had a chance to talk to K'ius much in that span of time. Throughout dinner, he had been animatedly explaining to Kai about day.... which involved Zo, Corvin and Titania, and it ended up with Aleksandr suddenly on his back on a wet slippery slab of ice. Thank Faranth it was beginning to warm up... because he can only take so much more of the cold.
"So are you ever going to convince Titania that Sho isn't completely the bane of her existence, fully? I swear her visits with you have helped and hindered her mood." he explained poking at the remains of his dinner. By this point most had cleared out of the hall, since dinner was practically over at this point.
There also came a point where Aleksandr just pulled at face at Kai all of a sudden. "Can you tell your dragon, that i'm not sharing any of my food." This wasn't in the form of a question nor was it posed very maturely. It was only now that he was speaking up because there is only so much you can ignore inside your own head before something needs to said aloud. "He either thinks i'm a big pushover, or someone else spoils him." he said with a look at K'ius.
He didn't catch B'nyur enter the hall, but he definitely didn't miss the blue's words, which caused him to drop his fork sending it clattering to his plate. He looked around to see flit and her eggs being brought in. Blue eyes flickered back to K'ius, his expression growing suddenly amused, "are you going t- shards Zo!" his sentence was suddenly cut off as Zo suddenly popped onto the table knocking utensils and cups to the floor, and almost causing Sandr to fall from his seat. The blue chirped a greeting not hesitating before crawling to his shoulder, cooing a hello to K'ius too, leaning forward. This was where the fun was, and so here was Zo.
"Anyway, sticking around... or are you going to bolt?" he asked K'ius the amused smirk returning.

“She’s a stubborn little brat.” K’ius said in response to Sandr’s question, shrugging at his words while taking a bite of his food. For most of the conversation, he’d been mostly silent, encouraging Sandr because he didn’t get to hear the guy talk enough. “I can’t convince her of anything if she doesn’t want to listen to me.” He’d tried and tried to convince the bratty firelizard that Shobhaith wasn’t all bad, but she was convinced that the purple had been encroaching upon her territory, and she wanted a space of her own.
…even if, okay, Sandr and Zo and Vin were a part of that space.
“She’ll be back.” He looked over to Sandr and smirked at him. “If you’re getting tired of having her around, just say something. I’m pretty sure I can make her come back.” Not that he wanted to, exactly. He had the little flit in his head constantly…he didn’t exactly need her presence around too.
Then his best friend spoke again and K’ius froze. He glanced to Sandr, then over to where he knew Sho was crouching right outside and broke out into a peal of incredulous laughter…that only seemed to increase when he heard Sho speaking to him finally. I wasn’t doing anything of the sort. He knew that Shobhaith was probably lying, because he’d tried to get scraps out of Kai earlier, even though the weyrling made sure his dragon was never hungry. “He knows I won’t give him anything.” K'ius shugs at Sandr, flashing the guy a mischievous grin. “He knows you’re a big pushover.”
Things happen after that a little quickly, and Kai misses the entrance of the firelizards in lieu of gaping at Sandr in confusion for a moment as not one, but two loud pops as first Zo and then Titania appear over Sandr. Titania chitters angrily at her blue brother, landing on Sandr’s head and digging her claws into his skull to get purchase enough to lean over and bite at the blue’s wing, her eyes irritated. How dare he run away from here! What nerve!
But, something alerted her to the cracking of eggs and she perked up, trembling as she stared in Shanza’s direction. Hissing at the unseen competition, the red twisted into the air, flying over to land on Kai’s head. She already had to share him five different ways. She’d be damned if she was going to let anything else occupy his mind.
…even if she was mad at him at the moment.
Kai just sighed lightly, wincing at the feeling of sharp little flitter claws digging into his skull. “I guess I’m staying.” He wasn’t worried though. “What are the chances that something /else/ will want me?”
Caring for a baby dragon sucked. He had too little sleep these days, even without Hera trying to suck up all of his attention ever. He hoped that her little detention time mellowed her out some. He had enough to worry about with Cirruth demanding all the attention he had.
The boy’d finally found the time to eat between all the care, and he was sitting by himself with his little bundle of dragon asleep underneath the table. He wouldn’t have brought Cirruth out if he thought that he was going to really sleep. As it was, the baby was just dozing lightly while Re’on ate his dinner.
His respite was going to be cut short, however, when he heard a dragon. It took the weyrling a second to figure out what the dragon was talking about, fork half hanging out of his mouth. When it clicked, the weyrling scowled. He wasn’t supposed to attend any hatchings, but how was it his fault that the sharding rider had decided to bring the lizards here? He was here first!
His pride keeps him from giving way to his common sense, and the boy continues to eat, paying no mind to the goings ons at the moment. Why would a firelizard want him? He had a dragon to take care of.
SO, SO, EXCITING!
Fishie was clinging to Mouse’s shirt as the little girl ran wildly through the weyr. Baby firelizards were hatching, and she was just beyond herself with excitement! There had to be someone she could share this with! Charlie barked behind her and Fishie made a curious Crrwaa and Mouse suddenly got an idea! Oh yes, this was perfect. She could share it with Saowyn!
Mouse hadn’t spent enough time with the wherling lately, but Mouse knew where to find the girl. The child had wandered the weyr enough to know every nook and cranny, mostly because she lives with Gennesk and refuses to stay in the crèche for any length of time even when the wher isn’t around.
Flying through the wherling barracks, Mouse found her friend’s room and barreled in. She jumped onto Sao’s bed and hugged her tightly, still bouncing with excess energy. There are flits, there are flits! Wake up, wake up! Excited and bubbling with energy, Mouse would attempt to wake Saowyn up and coax her blearily to the hatching, even if she had to ride on Saosk's back.

OOC; This is Kiran's post. I have permission to post this for her as she isn't able to post now.
Quellyn was drawn to the commotion of a hatching. A hatching! A flit hatching. He had now been to two pillie hatchings, and a dragon hatching besides, but a firelizard one? That was a new experience. And if there was anything that Quellyn wanted, it was new experiences. Because experiences made ~stories~. Such as the pillie that turned into a wher, and the dragon that was so in love with the pillie-wher that she hatched one herself. The triangle of relationships grew and grew!
And Misty was thriving on it, herself. She waved at her antennae at him, bidding him to be silent. After all, this was a hatching, and the birth of new life meant a potential for relationships to be born. Oh! The romance! And her bonded had already done such a fantastic job of finding the hidden love stories in the weyr already.
This was a chance for more.
So Quellyn sat down nearby and waited to see what stories would happen. --- Kira wasn't all that curious about what was going on. She had her small fair of flits to look after. Flirt was excited to come because it was a hatching! And that meant people, probably with other flits, and possibly...
MALE FLITS!
Oh, the anticipation made her trill with joy! She set up in the eves with Starfire, her constant companion. Starfire was also quite excited. Hatchings were happy, joyful things! And what better place for Kira to be? After all, she was still a bit sad from the last one. She hadn't gotten a dragon-proper then, and this was just the thing to cheer her up!
She chirped as Kira followed them into the room and settled down in a corner, hoping that her flits wouldn't bother anyone. Kira was just happy to watch the events of the hatching. They were great things! They tended to go well and somewhat uneventfully. Sort of. Her lips twitched up at the thought of the first hatching she had gone to, where she had Impressed Nightwing. The black flit gave a dark response to it, a vague grumble that said he wasn't coming out for this. No way, no how!

Randiel, not having a wherlet as his mindmate yet; was slowly getting more into his attempts to be awake when his sister had chance to talk. Like now with them finishing eating together, like they once did back home. Even though back home Mira only had Asher, whereas now she had Asher a pink ditz she called Nymeria and the odd blue thing he was still getting used to seeing. Not that the older boy much minded; Nymeria was a cute baby yet and Perrin was...unique and sort of cute. Plus she had the dragon who was finally too big to follow his sister into the Hall. As he finally scooted his scrap loaded plate aside he smiled at his sis "so, you look wore down; is Weyrling training still fun?".
Then he looked more serious "and has Malinoth still been...ok? even after those cowards poisoned the beasts?". As her person spoke Aela had started munching away on Randiel's scraps; then looked up in time to hum at the sight of someone carrying a basket revealed as a nest with the copper flit that was near it. Aela's humming of course made the male look over "huh looks like another flit clutch too...".
~~~
Mira, petting the antenna of the blue pillie who had decided to try and take up a spot on a chair finished eating as well before speaking "Mali's been healthy as ever, he never got into the fouled meat...like the older ones had". A reassuring tap and 'Mmhmm' got her into focus again as she looked at her brother "so you don't need to worry about him Randiel, he and myself aren't going anywhere soon". The sleepy thought of Except to the moon, Mine made the girl giggle and incurred a confused look in Randiel before she explained "Malinoth talked at me when I thought he was asleep Randi that's all".
Then she too looked toward the nest as her flits went from scavenging her scraps to humming quietly. Asher was quiet because this was the copper who he'd failed to catch that had clutched. Nymeria was quiet mostly because she kept getting distracted by everything else going on. Perrin wasn't sure what was going on but he did try to partway climb up Mira to see. As far as distance between Mira and Randi and the nest went Randiel was closer by a small margin but that might not prove a roadblock if a flit thought Mira was nice. Though secretly Mira wished rather firmly that Randiel might be the lucky one out of the pair this time. Not that she'd tell her brother this.
Sh’len was out in the ‘Bowl with Nivoth when Shanza’s eggs began to shake. Oh Mine, isn’t the sunset pretty? Look at all the colors. I love them! she said, curling around her lifemate and enjoying the romantic scene. There should be more love going on out there, in her opinion. What better way to love one another than to watch a sunset? Sh’len smiled and cuddled closer, shielded from everything by his big green dragoness. We have enough love for everyone, Nivoth, he said. The Green crooned. Oh you are so sweet, Sh’lenMine! I love you! But everyone should still love everyone. Her Rider laughed; she was incurable.
It was then that they heard Oveth’s voice, announcing the potential of baby flitters in the Dining Hall. Sh’len didn’t give it a second thought but Nivoth took an interest. Baby firelizards? That sounds cute, MineOwn! I bet there will be a lot of love going on in the kitchens. Everyone loves babies! You should go! Go? Sh’len said dumbly, looking up at her. He could barely take care of himself, so he had never shown any interest in getting a pet. Yes, go! Wouldn’t you like one, Sh’lenMine? The boy considered. Not really Nivoth. The disappointment that followed was enough to make him change his mind on the spot. Do you, Nivoth? If you do I’ll get you one! he said, standing up anxiously. She reached down to nuzzle him, mussing up his white hair. I want what you want, Mine! But you should go in and watch. I’d like to see.
So off Sh’len went; that much he could do. When B’nyur arrived he scooted as close to the basket as he could without having to squeeze through people. He was fairly early so he didn’t have to contend with much of a crowd, but he murmured an apology to each person he touch as he went by. The eggs were indeed rocking, and he looked at them with interest. The novelty of a firelizard hatching offset his malease and the nervousness that usually came along with being in a crowd was spared him. Can you see, Nivoth? Look how small they are, he marveled. Oh yes, she agreed, drinking up the scene through his eyes. I love them!
Braele did not jump when the mindvoice entered her thoughts, tinged blue in a way that continued to puzzle her, since she had always assumed color was something you saw and had no place coloring (literally) one's thoughts. But she had come to find that with dragons, with the Weyr, even with the whers--the first of which she had heard as the barking red command came to the Hatching Sands last winter--it was something you felt. Not prone to overthinking things, she had accepted this as interesting and filed it away in a drawer to be accessed another day and gone on with her life. She was getting used to it, used to the Weyr, though she felt she hadn't yet earned her right to stay.
But nor was that on her mind as Oveth called his welcome to the Dining Hall. In an uncharacteristic expression of excitement, Braele bit her lip with a smile and turned her long-legged stride in that direction, arriving in short order and straining for a glimpse of the gleaming queen and her clutch, rocking and cracking. The dining hall was always busy, always loud, but this seemed, as it usually did at fire lizard hatchings, rather exceptional. The excited chattering had rather overpowered the hatching hum of the adult and adolescent fire lizards, but Braele was pleased to see she hadn't missed any of the little ones coming forth this time. And goodness, she had quite a brood, did the lovely Shanza. "Ain't she a pretty one," She murmured to no one in particular as she leaned against a wall, close enough to see but far enough away that her height would not block anyone else's chance at viewing the spectacle. She was tall--she could see over heads if need be.
--
T'yer was fast asleep at the Dining Hall table, not far from Re'on. Like his fellow weyrling, the boy was pretty worn out from caring for his little one, which was, not so coincidentally, why he was sound asleep, arms folded under his head and bags under his eyes. He'd just come to the kitchens to grab a plate of meatroll for a quick snack while Lenticuth napped, but the worker had kindly told him it was going to be just a few minutes, and he'd sat down to wait and...promptly fallen asleep, utterly exhausted. It was a restless sleep, because even unconsciously he disliked being away from the rapidly growing viridian, and the sudden arrival of a crowd and the rapidly rising volume level caused the bleary-eyed young Healer-turned-weyrling to stumble into confused wakefulness, blinking owlishly in bafflement as he tried (in the manner of people who fall asleep unexpectedly) to figure out where, exactly, he was. Instinctively, he reached out to Lenticuth, only to sense the young dragon was still sound asleep.
There was a moment where she, just... didn't want to get up and attend to anything. She wastired, being a wherling wasn't all fun and games, it was a lot of work and not even work with handling Saosk. There were exercises, actually physical exercises. Her muscles hurt all over, and she just... needed more time to sleep. When the blue dragon's voice entered her mind... she just groaned "not nooow Saosk..." all groggy like. WooOOooO! the pillie called Azal exclaimed scrambling off his normal perch on Saowyn's chest as something small and excited came flying across the room..
A grunt escaped the wherling as she opened her eyes only to have Mouse hug her tightly. Saosk was immediately on his feet in alarm, TINY HUMAN! he yelled startled avoiding Mouse's mind for the time being. She was so tiny, and Saosk... just didn't know how to handle her. "Aww what's the occasion Mousey?" she asked. HATCHING IN FOOD HALL... SAOSK TAKE TINY HUMAN THERE! As Saowyn got up swiftly because... no she couldn't actually leave Mouse alone with her wher. "No, hold on i'm coming!"
Saosk was already focused on Mouse, ATTENTION TINY HUMAN! WE LEAVE NOW, SAOSK TAKE YOU. Although he sort of cringed when the little girl crawled on his back. "Mouse watch his spines, shells." she scrambled to put on some footwear stumbling out the door after her wher and Mouse. Running partway down the hall she made a surprised noise as she had to magically dance around the Wher who suddenly stopped and turned around with a rather irritated look in his eye. PUNY BUG MINION! COME NOW! SAOSK TELL YOU USELESS SHARDING DIMGLOW BUG, STAY WITH SAOSK! and Azal scurried after the wher as quickly as he could manage. WOooO!
Saowyn was relieved that Saosk did as she told him, and to keep all foul language away from Mouse' mind. If the mute child ever did speak she hoped to Faranth that she wasn't too influenced by Saosk's yelling. They entered the hall, Saowyn following the wher with Mouse somehow nestled between his over-sized wings, and the numerous spines on his body. "I hope we didn't miss too much eh Mousey?" she asked ruffling the child's hair.
YOUR FAULT, SLOW AS NO WORTH HUMAN HATCHLING Saosk bellowed whirling around to face Saowyn. The wherling only scoffed some rolling her eyes, "don't be ridiculous, humans don't hatch" SAOSK WILL BITE HIS. The group consisting of a puffy black wher, a child, a pillie (now in Saowyn's arms), and the wherling herself settled herself at a table, pulling Mouse to her lap.
Luckily the Bluerider had gotten to the Dining hall before any of the eggs had hatched. He was not sure that he would be able to keep any of the hatchlings in the basket while he was carrying it. Soon after he had arrived, it seemed there were already many people who wanted a chance to have a firelizard. He heard someone talk and looked over to see a young girl, probably a Candidate, was the one who talked. "Well, young lady, I wouldn't mind. In fact, I brought them here because I want them to go to other people." He said, smiling at the girl. Almost right after B'nyur had finished speaking to the girl, the first of the eggs broke open. The first firelizard to hatch was a Blue. A Blue whose main color was a medium blue color with what looked like explosions of a light blue on his body. After shaking the Sand off his body, the Blue looked towards the rest of his siblings who were still in their eggs. He started to chirp at the eggs as if commanding them to hatch. At first, no egg seemed to hatch, which only drove the Blue to chirp more imperiously at them to hatch. He wanted them to know they weren't hatching right! They needed to break their shell to hatch, and none seemed to be able to do this. Then another egg had cracked and then a hole appeared. The firelizard that was in that egg crawled out of the shell backwards, for whatever reason. The new firelizard looked to be a Blue as well. He was a light blue with splatterings of a medium-ish blue color. He chirped to his brother before hopping out of the basket. His brother could rally the troops in the basket, he was off to find His. Finding His was harder than he first thought. But he wasn't giving up just yet. His was here, he knew it. The Blue looked at many people, those closest to the basket and those far away. Only one stuck out to him. So he had made his decision, Aleksandr was His. He tried to settle himself on the boy's hand. It was hard, but he thought he got the hang of it. Back at the basket, two more eggs had hatched. The first egg had contained a Green. She was a light green, with dark green on her legs and tail. The second egg was a third Blue. The newest Blue was a medium-dark Blue with an almost navy shade on his head, neck, and wings. The first Blue hopped out of the basket, satisfied that his orders were being followed. His new sister and brother followed him. The Green tried to play with her brothers, nipping at them only to receive chirps from the both of them. This prompted her to hiss her displeasure and head the other way. She would find Hers somewhere else. And that's what she did. She found her T'yer, and tried to play with him. She swiped a paw at him, not realizing that she might hit him with her claws. The two Blues had also separated. The first to hatch stayed back while chirping at his brother to find his. The other Blue walked up to many people who were close to the table to inspect them. Were they His? The only way to be sure was to check them. And he did so by carefully walking up to each person and sniffing at them. He found His in Sh'len, and his brother chirped happily as he headed back to the basket to see if there were any others that needed his guidance. Blue-{b3e1f3, 259bc6} for Aleksandr This is one no-nonsense Blue. He will have no silly games played on his part. He can be an impartial judge. He will have unorthodox tendencies. He may try things that seem out of the box, but he tries to make everything he can better. (Bailey) Green-{c4ffc5,0d4c0f} for T'yer This Green is a violent Green. She likes to play rough, which usually involves someone getting a scratch or two. She can be unpredictable. One moment she could be happy and content, the next she could be angry for some seemingly unknown reason. She doubts herself. She doesn't seem to think she'll fit in with any of the other firelizards. (Grunt) Blue-{6962ff, 120d6f} for Sh'len This Blue is a rather calm guy. He tries to diffuse arguments whenever he sees them. Though he is not always successful, he still tries. This little guy is a cautious one. He will never rush into any situation, he will always look twice before doing anything in case there may be danger. (Jacob Taylor)
(Just popping in with Ka'mond because Abyrath commanded me I was need Ka'mond to have too many creatures. The end. If there are any open flits I'm more than happy to add another critter to Ka'mond's bunch, but I won't be heartbroken if I don't get anything. :D )
Do you know what you need?? Mine, do you? Can I tell you? It's oh so clear! Ka'mond saw his pink dragon snake her head toward him, then she promptly sniffed and puffed at his face. "What do I need? I have you, two pillies, and you have two puppies. I don't require-" MINE! You need a little, teeny, tiny, sweet, small, fun, small, leetle, small, bitty, pygmy, mini, reeeeeally small dragon! Or.. I mean a fire lizard! Because.... I said so!!
Ka'mond laughed, he did. Abyrath, she was a piece of work, and she was his beloved other half. But she was so silly, and that's what made her great. "Fine, but I still prefer my tiny pink that says small 4 times in one sentence." I am pretty great huh?
"I'm heading to the dining hall. Hopefully I'll return with another companion." Abyrath bobbed her head excitedly as Ka'mond left.
When Ka'mond arrived he found multiple eggs had already hatched, and newly bonded persons were holding their new friends. He smiled and nodded his head in greeting to anyone who looked his way.
Elly had long since finished her meal and was lingering over a game of solitaire in the dining hall when her quick ears and quicker eyes caught wind of a fuss. What was all the excitement? She craned her neck to look, and grinned. A basket. A basket full of eggs. Someone's firelizard had had a clutch, and it didn't take a genius to guess that they were hatching. Oh, Maaaaery...
Absolutely not! One is enough! One is more than enough! Maeradith was absolutely aghast. What? Allow more of the little spies into his weyr? Bad enough that there were scads of them in the Weyr at large!
The brownrider chuckled softly, packing up her cards and discarding her tray before making a quick exit. She loved to pull her bonded's leg, but not so much as to cause strife between them. S'pose you're right, Maery-dearest. Let's leave 'em for the folk as want 'em.
***((Bahaha just had to throw that in there. ONTO THE REAL POST.))***
Sora poked at her plate, with its remnants of food, disconsolatedly. She'd been late to dinner, something that hadn't entirely been on purpose; but her chores had run long and she refused to make excuses for incompletion or put off what needed to be done, so on she'd worked until she'd been satisfied that it was not just a job done, but done right. Better than asking for help. Either I wouldn't get it, or I'd somehow get someone who couldn't do the work, she thought pessimistically. At least when you were on your own, you knew who you could rely on.
Yes, if anyone asked, she was gloomy from chores and a late meal. It made for a good excuse, one that would draw a nod or two and probably shut down further conversation. An arms-length half truth, as guarded as anything she did. Wild runnerbeasts couldn't drag a confession of reality from her. Sora didn't do cozy, trusting, touchy-feely type things, okay? But... but oh, she was homesick. She'd been here for a season already and that out-of-place feeling hadn't faded. She missed the familiar sights of her home, the trees with their wide-frond leaves, the smell of the little dried-flower satchets that her mother used in the clothes presses. She hadn't been demonstrative at home either, but she missed the rumble of her father's voice and even the little wrinkle of her mother's brow that came whenever she looked at her daughter.
It wasn't that Dalibor was bad. It was... interesting. She didn't admit to interest often, but this place was like those creeper vines she had to weed out of the gardens at home. It reached every-which-way and opened up little leaflets in unexpected places. It made her curious. It even made her smile sometimes, when things caught her off-guard. Like the wheret out of nowhere at the winter hatching.
Seriously. What was that?
Giving up on what was left of her meal - what remained was cold, and there was always something unappealing about cold, congealing food - she carted her tray back to where the dishes-to-be-washed were left and prepared to leave. A kind of excited commotion drew her attention, complete with a voice in her head talking about little dragons, and she diverted to go see what it was all about. Stuffing her hands in her pockets and hunching her shoulders, she lurked a short distance away from the fascinating-but-not-that-she'd-say-so spectacle. So. Firelizards. Kind of cute, huh?
On top of almost falling out of his chair because of a certain blue flit, he winced as Titania practically landed on him, claws digging in to his scalp so she could stay on. He didn't know when she got so attached to him... he didn't hate it not bit BUT she was difficult to handle sometimes. He moved slowly to right himself in his chair to not prompt her to move or dig her claws in anymore. He didn't care about Zo, he seemed to have surprisingly decent balance -- maybe it was his little dances that helped?
Zo tucked his wings in tight to avoid his sister's nasty teeth. His tail waved side to side to help keep his balance while he'd coo innocently at the red who wanted bite at him. Its cool, he'd chirp at her... this is where the party was. "Okay, okay shards I don't know how she hasn't killed you yet Zo." he'd say plucking Zo off his shoulder and placing him back on the table, offering some food that was on his plate... and then some to Titania, but she had already moved. "Anyway, i'm hardly a pushover..." he'd say contradicting to the fact that Zo was happily eating whatever he'd offer, done so affectionately. But that was a lie, there were times he brought Sho some food.
Aleksandr smiled shaking his head some at Titania who seemed very upset at the fact there were more flits. "Isn't that what you thought last time? Then you gained, three more." he'd snort, which turned into a snicker. "Or no, sorry... that was my fault wasn't it. If you impress another, just remember I offered you an out." Zo had crawled back onto Sandr's shoulder, wrapping his tail around his boy's neck as his eyes were completely focused on the hatching flits. Sandr lifted his hand to scratch Zo's head, when a lighter looking blue appeared and landed on the hand he lifted. He felt the presence of the new blue in his mind, definitely different from how Zo feels. "Uh what? I thought we were far enough aw- Titania relax" he'd say pulling the hatchling away from her settling him on the table in front of him.
The new hatchling looked at Titania indignantly, and hissed at her in return in a he's mine not yours smarten up, manner keeping his practically at attention stance. Zo crawled down from Sandr's shoulder and chirruped cheerfully (among the hostility), shoving himself into the new blue's space. The lighter flit chirped at Zo which sounded a lot like an order. Zo backed off canting his head at the blue, and crawled back onto Sandr's shoulder chirping at his, clearly confused. "Oh good. They get along perfectly." he snorted keeping an eye on Titania, half rolling his eyes at Kai. "I honestly don't know how you can handle the amount you have."
"You are a pushover! Why else do you think you haven't gotten rid of..." It was then that the blue firelizard chose Sandr. Kai barely noticed the firelizard because it was at that exact moment that Titania went nuts. She hissed at the intruding blue, tail thrashing around behind her, claws digging more deeply into Kai's skull. The weyrling glared and moved to detach the offending red from his head. "Shard it all, Titania! Why the hell are you freaking out?"
The red firelizard landed on the table and hissed at the blue again, though she didn't make a move to attack him. He was rude and he was irreverent and you'd better listen to me. She spit at the other blue, only calming down when Zo stepped in between them. She flicked her tail, running it along Zo for a moment before she growled. Keep him in line or I'll bite you.
Then she disappeared to go find the rest of her fair. At least she could boss them around without being hissed at.
Kai sighed heavily when his flit disappeared. "That girl is enough to give me a headache." I told you that you should let me eat her. Shobhaith said to both boys. The dragon sounded terribly amused by the chain of events though. Maybe the little brat'll hang around us more? " I doubt it." He snorted, taking another bite. " She hates you more than she hates him, and if anything, he's something she can try to bed to her will. You're too big." After, K'ius flashed Sandr a big grin. " Congrats, man. What're you gonna name him?"
Riding Saosk was really the best thing ever. Mouse clung to the wher, her little arms wrapped around his neck. The black was prickly, but Mouse felt she could learn where to settle on his back so that she didn't get stuck. SAOSK, look at all the flying tiny dragons! She squealed into the wher's mind as they entered the dining hall. They were all so cute! Mouse didn't even care if she got one, and Fishie was making it known that he didn't want her to get one. Mouse just really, really loved babies. She allowed herself to be pulled into Saowyn's lap them, wrapping her arms around the girl. Quietly, Mouse watched the hatching. That was, until Saosk blew up at Saowyn. Mouse glared at the black, leaning over to bop him on the nose. No Saosk, baddd. No biting yours. Yours is the best. She snuggled closer to Saowyn then, nearly bouncing out of her seat at the sight of the blue flit standing guard at the nest. Looklook look! He's so niceee and brave and the best ever! The little girl was nearly leaping out of Saowyn's lap to get to the nest. You're not supposed to be here. Re'on felt Cirruth stir, the hatchling's anxiety growing a little. What if you get in trouble? I don't want us to get in trouble. Re'on mine? The hatchling laid his head in the boy's lap and Re'on stroked his head, feeling his anxiety lessen at the touch. " We'll be fine, Cirruth." He winced when his hand brushed over one of the scars that Hera left and he wondered if the blue's fear had anything at all to do with being afraid of being hurt again. " I'm nearly finished eating and then we can leave. Promise"[/blockquote]
Having the rider's attention on her almost made Phaenna want to cringe back, but somehow she held her ground. She nodded and gave a smile in thanks as the eggs began to hatch. First to come out was a blue, focusing on trying to get his siblings out of their shells. Phaenna watched him intently, and it wasn't long before the blue was joined by several of his siblings, namely a green and two other blues.
The area was certainly full of people by now, fellow candidates and those who were probably dragonriders both. Phaenna wasn't all that surprised when the baby flits found Impressees among other people, who were no doubt more interesting than her. Smiling quickly at each Impression, the girl soon turned her attention back to the eggs that were yet to hatch. It looked like they were still being urged on by their blue brother.
Allele was halfway across the Bowl after dinner, heading out to pet some runners before bed, when the call for firelizards came. She hesitated, glancing back at the yawning entrance to the lower caverns. She loved all animals, and she had been thinking lately that it would be nice to have a pet of her own, instead of slipping into the stables when she wanted some solid, warm comfort. Flits weren't exactly puppies, though. You couldn't hug them, and their personalities were far more varied...and far more potentially volatile. You could train the aggression out of a canine, but the personality traits of dragonkin seemed to be almost impossible to develop out of them.
I think it's a lovely idea, Torvith said. They don't have fur, so they would be much cleaner. This had been the greatest point of contention in the ongoing consideration of pet-owner-dom, and Allele had to admit, her dragon had a point. Much as she would love to brush a puppy, there was always a risk of them carrying bugs around, and having a pet that couldn't fly in a weyr...
She turned and strode back to the dining hall, where the hatching was already in progress. There were loads of people here, and Allele slipped around the edges of the crowd, looking in vain for someone she knew - oh, there was Sh'len! Her fellow Cloudchaser appeared to have just Impressed a tiny blue, and she settled in beside him, curling her fingers together behind her back. "He's beautiful," she said, giving him a smile.
---
It felt like it had been forever and a day since Fahra had had any kind of celebration. Not since Kalith had died. She hadn't gone to Wenth's hatching, sitting up with her sister; she hadn't gone to the feast either. She'd heard there was to be a Gather soon, and odds were, she would not be going to that either. It might be odd to some to find the young greenrider acting so dutifully, but Fahra loved her sister, and she had far fewer obligations than O'sho did, so between the two of them, they could take it in turns to be...present. Though being present was sad.
Tonight, though - tonight. A firelizard hatching! And a big one too, B'nyur's copper, so there was a fair chance she could get a little baby for herself. She skipped into the dining hall and muscled her way to the front of the small pack, offering no excuse-me's, just an "Ooh, sorry!" when her elbow caught someone in the side. Grinning at the bluerider, she said, "Hey, B'nyur! Just look at all those eggs. Springtime is a perfect time for birth and excitement, don't ya think?"
Out of key whistling filled the stables. In the stall of a rather handsome black runner Naim was hard at work using the pitchfork to muck out the soiled hay into a pile outside of the door. The runner was not his, he'd volunteered to clean the stables of runners belonging to a few residents of the Weyr for a meager few marks a sevenday. It wasn't the money he was after though, he felt more at home in the stables than in the candidate barracks. He had only been at Dalibor a few weeks and though he'd met a few people he still felt more comfortable with the runners or watching the herdbeasts in the feeding pen. He did tend to look away though when the dragons fed. Naim wasn't scared of blood or gore, but watching dragons chase down the terrified beasts wasn't his idea of entertainment. The candidate did understand of course that that was the reason the herdbeasts were there but… he preferred to see them grazing.
Naim snapped back into reality when his stomach let out a loud growl. He smacked a hand to his forehead. "Breakfast…" he muttered to himself. He'd been in such a hurry to get the stables this morning that he had forgotten to grab a bite to eat. The blonde nearly jumped out of his skin as a disembodied voice spoke cheerfully in his head. He would never get used to that Naim swore to himself. The candidate set the pitchfork in its place on the wall and gave the black runner a friendly pat on the nose. It whinnied lightly and turned away towards the water trough. "Yer welcome you ingrate," Naim saidto the animal with a mock frown as he headed out of the stables and towards the Dining Hall.
The idea of firelizards had always excited him but he had never had marks to buy one. When he had had marks he had used then on runners and leather to make things for runners. His grandfather had had a tiny green firelizard that sometimes brought letters to his mother but other than that he hadn't spent much time with them. Sure he'd seen other people's flits at the Weyr but that didn't count. The fact that these firelizards appeared to be free was also a new concept to him but he wasn't going to question it. Firelizards seemed to be a bigger part of weyr life than hold life and if he was going to be living here he might as well Impress one right?
Heading into the dining hall he had no trouble finding where the hatching was. There was a crowd gathered and Naim was only just able to squeeze himself into an open spot at the table. From where he was could see that he'd missed the beginning of the hatching several flits had already found people to bond to. He looked around at those lucky few studying what they were doing, feeding meat to the new hatchling, just in case one of the flitters came up to him.
Ohm.
Peep.
Chirp.
Ooohhmm, ohm peep peep chirp chirpchirp.
Ohm peep We should go see the cute hatchlings! The firelizard hatchlings!
Feigning ignorance of all but the blue firelizard being oiled, Nora briefly wondered why and how exactly dragonkin were rather annoying. But then, her fair didn't include any dragon-chasing non-dragons. That was R'lan's crazy pet - the ruckus the poor Weyrling had created in pursuit and woe of his blue flit had maybe not woken up all, but Nora was among those that it had. Poor Waroth.
Triantan wriggled away from his bonded's grasp, deciding potentially getting a new friend was more important - by far - than getting rid of that *slight* itch. Well, he was itchy. But he'd sacrifice his non-itchiness for a cause like a firelizard hatching!
Her green pillie in her lap and two firelizards hovering and cheeping at Shanza's clutch, Nora waved to K'ius for a moment before seeing if there was any other familiar person in the crowd.
***
The fact Dalibor Weyr was interesting did not change the fact it was weird.
Seriously, the heck were those brown girl dragons? Tans!? Akklyn had lived in a Weyr before moving to Dalibor with her father Makkoi, but all the different things - and the mysterious poisonings - were confusing. And though she'd never admit it, the Weyrbrat was scared deep inside.
She had never had a firelizard, and from what the girl had seen of them they were annoying, snoopy little pests. But Akklyn found herself looking at the hatching firelizard clutch - she had no choice as it was time to eat the last meal of the day anyways - as she munched on a meatroll a very nice woman had given her, the Weyrbrat truly a perfect example of an "innocent, sweet, cute little lady".
Sh'len was delighted when four eggs hatched almost as soon as B'nyur arrived, spilling three Blues and a Green out into the basket. The first Blue to hatch, a dark fellow with bursts of lighter blue across his hide, asserted himself as the ringleader immediately. He ordered the other eggs to hatch and they complied willingly. The second Blue hopped off to impress to a boy nearby, but their fearless leader rallied his two remaining siblings and lead them out together. Once on the table, he ordered that they impress, and again they complied willingly.
The GreenRider watched with adoration as the tiny flitters went around the table investigating each person. He was not expecting to impress, having come only for Nivoth, so he was taken completely by surprise when one of the Blues stopped before him and gazed up with rainbows in his eyes. "Oh," he said softly, feeling a sudden pang of hunger in his own belly mingled with warm affection. Oh Mine. Nivoth gasped, Look, he loves you! Didn't I tell you so? Sh'len put a hand down on the table gingerly and the Blue crawled up his arm to sit on his shoulder. He stiffened when the 'lizard began his ascent, but once he was perched Sh'len relaxed.
"Hello," he said to his new friend, admiring the way that his hide, fairly dark to begin with, shifted and darkened to a smooth navy at the tips of his wings and up his neck and head. The Blue hummed back at him, a greeting in kind. You should feed him, MineOwn, Nivoth said, bounding up to the entrance of the Dining Hall excitedly. And then bring him out here! I can't wait to see him! The Green waggled her tail eagerly and practically pranced in place. I love him already!
Sh'len smiled and slipped away from the table and out of the growing crowd. Just in time, he thought, seeing all the people that had and were flooding in. The meat shortage was not so dire as it had been a season ago, so Sh'len was able to get a small piece and a handful of meatrolls to take with him. "Um, there are some firelizards hatching over there," he said shyly to one of the drudges. "It might be good if someone brought over some food for the babies." He would have done it himself if he weren't so craven, but the crowd around the table was as good as a wall.
Taking his food outside, Sh'len went to meet Nivoth. His firelizard eyed the food hungrily and cheeped. Sh'len felt bad for making him wait, so he fed him a meatroll on the way. Miiiine! He's so TINY! Nivoth exclaimed when she saw them. I know, I told you he was, Sh'len agreed, giving the Blue the piece of meat as well. When he was full he curled up on his human's shoulder contentedly. What should we call him, Nivoth? Sh'len asked, quiet even in his mindvoice so as not to disturb his pet. His dragoness hummed to herself as she thought. Jay? I like that name, Mine. Then that's what we'll call him. Jay seemed to approve in a quiet kind of way. He would be a perfect addition to the duo.
The eggs just kept rocking, and the Blue was starting to get tired of waiting. He was about to give up on his brothers and sisters when an egg cracked and split open. The Black that was inside the egg, burst out with one thing on his mind, how would he get some food around here. But before he could get any, his Blue brother was chirping at him. What did he want? The Black didn't care at the moment. But the Blue was persistent. He would make his brother hear him. They had to go! They had to find Theirs. Before either could act, another egg had hatched. Out of this one, came a fourth Blue. This Blue, a light blue with teal on his legs and wings, just stood where he was a moment. Observing everything around him, he knew what must be done. The first Blue chirped at his brothers, hopping out of the basket once again. He would lead his brothers to Impressing! That's what he would do. A good leader sets a good example. So off the three went, looking for who they would call Theirs. After what seemed like forever to the lead Blue, he finally found who he would call His. She had other firelizards, and they needed his leadership! So the Blue hopped on up to Kira and dubbed her His. He then looked back at his siblings encouraging them to find Theirs like he found His. He knew they could do it with or without him. One last encouraging chirp, and he turned his full attention back to Kira. The two remaining on the table chirped back at their brother, then parted ways. The Black headed back towards the basket end of the table. Surely he could find some food there. But no, no food was there. Only people. Just then, an idea came to him. If he got a person, they could feed him! So the Black went to look for his person. He stopped at Phaenna, and looked at her. He chirped at her asking for food before climbing on her shoulder and nudging her. That only left the last Blue to hatch without a person. This Blue was going from person to person, trying to decide who would be His. He just could not be sure with most of them. Though when he stopped, he was absolutely sure. He had made his decision, and Randiel would be His. The Blue gave an awkward bow to His before climbing onto his shoulder. The Hatching was far from over. There were still plenty of eggs left, and one decided now was the time to Hatch. The egg broke open to reveal a Green. The Green was a light green, not as light as her sister that had already hatched, but still a light green. Her head, neck, and wings had a dark green on them. Her front left and back right leg also had the same dark green. She didn't seem to be in a hurry to find Hers, though. She just stayed in the basket looking at everything, trying to determine just how she could use them. Blue-{1689ff, 60a8f3} - For Kira This Blue wants to be a leader. He loves leadership. This Blue believes that a life without risks is not a life worth living. He does have a stern side to him. If those he is leading do not do something he asks of them correctly, he will let them know it. (Admiral Hackett) Black-{040505, 262829} - For Phaenna This little Black is three things: Brave, Intelligent, Strategic. He is not afraid to go rushing into a situation to save someone. He is intelligent for a black, but not white level intelligent. And he has a strategic mind. Usually, the strategies will be saved for how to get food. But he can be trained to do otherwise. (Captain Kirrahe) Blue-{a5d3e3, 5da1b7} - For Randiel This Blue, like some of his clutchmates, is a calm firelizard. Bound to his honor, he will follow what he believes to be the right path. More than likely, he'll be following His or other firelizards His has. Unyielding determination, even if something takes a long time, he is determined to see it through. (Samara)
It was not long before there were more hatchlings, and Phaenna watched curiously as a black climbed out of his shell. She smiled as the blue chirped at his brother, who only seemed annoyed at the attention, but her gaze was drawn to a different egg, which hatched to reveal yet another blue. After a moment, all three of the flitters moved towards the crowd of people, lead by the first-born blue, and Phaenna watched them hopefully.
The blue leaped up onto a girl with a couple other fire lizards; she looked to be a candidate, like Phaenna. The other two hatchlings split off in different directions--the black in search of food, the blue in search of a person. Just when she thought the black might go wild, he turned back towards the people gathered around. Perhaps he would Impress after all. She was amazed and astonished, however, when the black looked up at her, and soon climbing up her shoulder and nuzzling her, chirping for food.
Phaenna grinned, rubbing the black's head delightedly, but he was still hungry, so she hurried to rectify that. She took some meatrolls from a helpful drudge and started breaking them up for the small hatchling; the black barely waited to be fed, now that the meat was right in front of him, and he started snatching up the pieces as soon as he could stuff them into his mouth, radiating waves of approval at Phaenna as he did so. "I think I'll call you Valen," she murmered softly to her new friend.
---------------
Anya had already eaten well before the clutch had begun to hatch, and she had only intended on passing through the Dining Hall without stopping. The large crowd was hard to miss, though, and it didn't take her long to determine why they were gathered; it was clear a clutch was in the middle of hatching, as several people were already feeding tiny fire lizards. Anya just rolled her eyes. Wherryhead was bad enough--and thinking of the blue...
Her mischievous fire lizard had quickly noticed the food being brought for the hatchlings, and he went to hover around one of the drudges until he'd gotten a slice of meat of his own. He ignored Anya's irritated admonishment to "behave," and instead he settled down on her shoulder to enjoy his snack.
"Stupid lizard," Anya muttered, glaring at the blue. It was no use, since Wherryhead was still focused on his meal. She craned her head to look at the hatchlings, instead. She was at the back of the crowd, and since she wasn't planning to actually Impress one of the babies, it wasn't worth it to fight her way through the other people to get a better look at the eggs. From where she was, though, it was possible to get a glimpse of the clutchmother and her still-unhatched eggs if she stood on her tiptoes.
Mira cheered happily and quietly as the first impressions were made, planning to congratulate the new flitowners later. Asher also trilled happily for a moment before humming at the nest again. His small dislike of Shanza already cooled to nothing by now, as he showed Nymeria how he'd greeted her hatching with his humming. Though as more hatchlings cracked shell and looked for their new people. Asher peeped a little cheer of surprise as a blue went for Randiel, after pinging from person to person. Then made Asher headtilt as the little one bowed to Randiel. Mira for her part had giggled when she noticed the blue "I think he likes you Brother".
Then she sent an image of the new baby to Malinoth back in her barracks and chuckled at his sleepy response of cute baby mine...tell Randi he should visit.... Mira chuckled as she spoke up again, handing a few more scraps to Randi for the baby "Malinoth wants you to visit with your new baby flit Randiel". Nymeria trilled happily at the little one; and tried to be more helpful by scooting more scraps to the little one like her person was doing. Asher for his part sent kind joy to the newcomer to the family.
~~~
And he wasn't the only one sending happy welcome to the new baby; as Aela was also doing so. Randiel looked a bit confused and surprised at the baby's antics but soon chuckled and began feeding him. Then he looked at Mira "well I'll definitely try when I get the chance...and your partner is more wakeful; I'm sure Aela will remind me". At mention of her name Aela chirped a firm affirmative, then proceeded to trill happily at the new baby. Said baby who had risen from his little bow to start feeding from Randi's hand. As his new pet ate the older male watched him, muttering "now he just needs a name...".
As Randiel wracked his brain and fed the baby he finally spoke "do you like Farkas as a name?". The baby looked up with a bit of a tilt to his head; like he was thinking it over. Then a firm cheep and a nod confirmed it, he liked his new name; especially since it appeared Randiel liked it as well. Newly named, Farkas finished eating then curled up to rest upon his new human's shoulder. Aela then roosted near his sleeping form and resumed her humming to the new babies. As did Mira's Asher.

Mengir was in the Dining Hall from the start, eating her breakfast. As a Wher candidate, she kept a mostly-nocturnal schedule. She noticed the man bring in the basket full of... something in as Oveth spoke to everyone in the Weyr. The blue's words startled her and made her drop her fork before looking around briefly to figure out who had spoken to her. Seeing no one, she flushed, moving over to gloomy Sora after depositing her own finished meal's remnants where it belonged.
"D-Did you hear someone?" she asked meekly, giving Sora a curtsey as she spoke. "I... I think I heard someone. Was it a dragon? Ohh... a-are those firelizards over there?" The presence of newly-hatched firelizards made the timid woman smile. "Oh how lovely," she murmured. She thought about moving closer, but the presence of B'ynur stopped her. She didn't know the man and was remarkably hesitant to go over there. What if he was mean? She watched the hatchlings wistfully, hoping one would come her way. She wanted a little friend.
---
Naraevhyn had eaten her evening meal early and was playing with her fair when she and Simhath both heard Oveth's call. Simhath stood and headed to her ledge, looking excited.
NaraevhynMine!! Can we get a new friend?! she asked. Nara blinked, then looked at the five flits she had.
"Do you think there is a need for a sixth?" she asked, looking toward the green. Instantly her quintent started fussing like mad, clamoring for a new friend. Ranulf wanted another baby to raise, Thorun wanted someone to boss. Kraka was just interested in another girl flit, while Ainikki was just going with the flow there. She didn't really care either way. Innorvi wanted someone to race and snuggle with.
More to wash me! And other dragons. Like Acreth! You know they go help Acreth's wash her right?
"Yes, I know."
So let's get more friends! Simhath bounced in place, almost bashing her head against the roof of her weyr. Laughing, Nara agreed and carefully climbed onto her dragon. Trilling joyously, Simhath descended to the Dining Hall. Nara's fair betweened into the Dining Hall and took up perches all over the place, humming at the eggs. Naraevhyn slipped into a side corner, watching the firelizards. If one came to her, she would accept it lovingly.

The Green seemed to be staring at everything with a slight look of disinterest. When some eggs started to hatch, she moved from where she was. Those other hatchlings would not get the best of her. An egg broke open to reveal a Pink. This Pink, a light pink everywhere on her body with darker pink hind legs, seemed to think she was a Queen. At least, that's how it looked like. The Pink immediately walked up to her Green sister and chirped a hello. She wanted to chat, and chat she would. She looked behind her to chat about how their other siblings were taking so long to see that another Pink had broken her shell. This Pink looked quite different from her sister. The top half of her torso, the bottom portion of her wings, and her entire tail were a darkish pink. The rest of her body was a dull pink color. This new Pink seemed to have a different life view. Though she didn't look for Hers immediately either. She instead went to greet her sisters first. Surely she would see them again sometime. Theirs did probably live in this place. So why not get acquainted? The Pink began to walk over to the others, but then tripped as she reached them. Sending all three firelizards onto the table. The Pink that thought she was a Queen was the first to get back up. She preened herself to make sure her appearance was pristine. The Green was next, followed by the second Pink. By then, every firelizard knew they had to find Theirs. The first to find Hers was the last Pink to hatch. She went up to Ka'mond, and chirped for food. Nothing more, nothing less. Well, she could always go for another friend. Friends were just as nice as food. Either way, she had found Hers, and her sisters were not far from finding Theirs. Then, the Green found Hers. The Pinkrider Anya, was then Hers. Hers to have, hers to get food from. No one else could have her Anya. Not even the Pink that had gotten to her first. Though she supposed she would just have to deal with the dragon. The last Pink got distracted by a chirp from the basket. Another Pink had hatched. This Pink was a dark pink, with light pink polka dots all over her body. Though the Queenly Pink was paying her little attention. She needed to find Hers. Then she saw her, Braele. The one she would call Hers. She chirped at the girl to get her some food. She was quite hungry! Back in the basket, the dark pink was rearranging the eggs in a more artistic style. Shanza noticed this and quickly chirped at her daughter. She needed to find Hers too! But the dark pink only slunk away to a corner of the basket to glare at her mother. Soon, she forgot about her and peeked out of the basket. She chirped as if to say, "I'll get to you later." Though it was aimed at no one specifically. Green-{5bcc5e, 005401} - For Anya Manipulative, this Green thinks of others as assets. She will use these assets to get what she wants, or at the very least try to use them. Possessive, she will guard what she considers hers with her life if she must. This includes Hers. She is a rather determined little Green. She will not stop trying to get what she wants, and she will do whatever she thinks necessary to get whatever it is she wants. (Aria) Pink-{ffcbf2, e00083} - For Braele The level of serious in this Pink is high. No silly games or pranks will come from this girl. She is also formal. She will hold herself like a queen, even though she is not a queen. Chatty, this Pink will find any excuse to chat. This firelizard is not behaving, or the weather is bad. It doesn't really matter, she will chat with just about anyone she can if she can find an excuse to. (Gabriella Daniels) Pink-{ff8fd6, dc008c} - For Ka'mond This pink has a consequentialistic view on life. She judges her actions by their potential consequences. She is good-natured, she can take criticism with a happy face. She is also quite friendly. She likes to try to be friends with almost everyone she meets. (Mordin)

Aleksandr chose to ignore K'ius' pushover accusation in "favor" of watching Titania, brow raised. She was a little psycho, but what was odd was she was... jealous of his new flit? She wasn't even his. Now the new blue was watching her coolly, not at all affected by her hisses and snarls. Even though he was just born he sat there very much at attention. He recognized that she was older and probably held more seniority... but he didn't care because she was rude and uncouth(overstatement).
Zo would coo at her all calmly, sure it was pretty excitable in here but not that exciting. He didn't know why she was getting so angry, but he'd chirp at her before she disappeared. He didn't want to get bitten, but... he's not one to lead things.
Sandr snorted, "she's enough to give anyone a headache." he chimed in, but he didn't hate her... if anything he's grown attached to the fiery red. He set his fork down to scratch his newest addition around his head knobs, pretty much testing the waters He didn't seem too opposed to physical attention... though after a few seconds he'd chirp sharply using his head to push Sandr's hand away so he could properly watch the rest of the hatching attentively. Sandr watched with a small smile before Sho's voice entered his mind.
He listened to Sho and Kai's small conversation before piping up, "I really hope you're talking about this guy, and not me Kai." he'd huff in a faux offended manner before smirking. He didn't answer K'ius right away, instead he looked at his new flit thoughtfully. "Oh I don't know, uhh... Gideon?" the small blue graced Sandr with one quick glance before climbing to his other shoulder to get a better look. "Gideon is it then." he chuckled.
Now if Kai waved back to Nora, Sandr would turn his head to see her for a moment before glancing back with a mischievous smirk. "New girlfriend, K'ius?" he'd say with a teasing tone clearly evident.
Saowyn watched the tiny little dragons hatch with probably as much excitement as the little girl in her lap (though much more contained). The wher was mostly silent, watching the tiny dragons with an almost bored demeanor -- except for a SAOSK SEE THEM TINY HUMAN, SAOSK NOT SH-- SAOSK NOT BLIND!. Like with their new pillie... Saosk was hoping for one to come their way so he could swiftly take the flit under his charge. For a small wher he was a bossy demanding thing.
Saowyn didn't notice that Saosk was still touching Mouse' mind when he was yelling at her. Because when he had... the little girl swiftly leaned forward to bop the wher on the nose. Saosk and Saowyn were both stunned for a moment, "Saosk! I told you to watch what you say with her!" she scolded. Saosk managed to look absolutely offended. He quickly pulled away from Mouse as she spat her mental abuse at him. His eyes flashed red for a moment before they returned to a cool green, YOU THINK SAOSK NOT REALIZE? WHY YOU NOT SCOLD TINY HUMAN? TINY MOUSE HIT SAOSK! SHARDING WORST HANDLER!, Saowyn sighed, "next time don't let her hear you then," she replied mentally.
The wher snorted a huff of breath at her, one of his rare physical sounds, SAOSK WILL IMPRESS TO SMALL DRAGON! he announced to his handler before turning himself around to watch the rest. Saowyn was attempting to keep Mouse on her lap, but she was giggling a bit at her excitement. "I know they're adorable and exciting, but you have to wait to see if one comes to you." she told the girl.
