Carissa like the others in her class, as well as countless numbers of Weyrlings before her and undoubtedly after her, fell into a rhythm as the days went by mostly centered around caring for Junonth. Lessons and chores interspersed this as well as Carissa’s own meals, rest periods, and sleeping. Janvia at first wasn’t too happy about how much attention Junonth was getting over her though she did eventually had come to accept the fact that Carissa had other responsibilities than care for her. Junonth when she was awake helped out in comforting Janvia such as right now as Carissa oiled Junonth after feeding the young Green. For now anyways, Janvia was content to fly around as Carissa worked on oiling the quickly growing Dragonet near the Weyr’s lake, it was Autumn now and the nights were getting colder.
“Hardly the weather was like when you hatched,” said Carissa smiling a little.
I guess it was, said Junonth relying more off of Carissa’s memories rather than her own.
“Trust me it was, even if you hatched later in the season it was still fairly warm, especially compared to now.” Janvia communicated her own feelings to Junonth about the change in weather with a series of emotions and images as well.

Each day did indeed hold a new adventure. At least in Eicheleth's mind, it did. He had Aelynn follow him through the places he could walk in the Weyr. She could have sworn some of the places they walked by looked similar. Though that may have been because she had been through some of the places before. She forgot that most of the Weyr would be brand new to him.
Though she did notice a patch of rough skin, about halfway through the days explorations. So she had to cut it short. Eicheleth didn't much care for this, but assumed this was what fate had in store for them. So Aelynn took the black dragonet to the bowl to take care of the patch she found. Though they weren't the first to be there. One of the new Green Weyrlings was already there.
Aelynn couldn't place a name to the girl, but she chalked that up to her not being a very social Candidate. It is fate, my treasure. Eicheleth said, as the pair walked up to the Green and her rider. "Uh, hello there. My name is Aelynn. What's your name?" She asked the girl, stopping a few feet short of her.

Carissa looked up from oiling Junonth when another girl followed by a young Black Dragonet came into the Weyr bowl and by the looks of things had been wandering around the caverns. The girl was roughly Carissa’s age with straight shoulder length light brown hair and hazel eyes that Carissa vaguely remembered as Aelynn which she quickly confirmed. When Aelynn asked for Carissa’s name she said, “I’m Carissa, by the looks of things we’re in the same Weyrling class. The green flit flying around is Janvia and this is Junonth,” said Carissa motioning to the Green Dragonet.
Hello, said Junonth shyly more to the Black Dragonet than his bonded. Janvia seemed happy, chirping a hello to the pair setting down on Carissa’s shoulders before taking off again as Carissa resumed oiling Junonth from a little gentle prodding on the Dragonets part.
“I haven’t got to know many of the others on beyond the lessons yet besides the occasional hello or sorry admittedly. With all of what is going on in terms of schedule that’s really no surprise though. Janvia and Junonth help with that and all, though my family is pretty far away it feels like home even if it just is the three of us.”

Aelynn listened quietly to the girl. She mentioned her little green fire lizard, and it seemed as if Rose came bursting in. Though that may have been because Aelynn had been thinking of her. The little Pink settled herself on the part of Eicheleth's head that had already been oiled. The pink chirped at both girls and the small green flit. Aelynn quieted the pink so she could listen to the rest of what Carissa had to say.
Eicheleth, for his part, tried to shake the pink off his head with very little luck. The pink kept landing back on his head. Though he eventually did manage to get the pink to find a new perch. He then looked to Junonth, eyes whirling a blue-green color. Hello sister. The Black responded. He nodded his head towards the Green and her rider.
Nodding her head, Aelynn chuckled a bit. "Family is always a nice thing to have. Even if it is a small one. I've always had a small family. Though four new additions came recently. Eicheleth being the most recent and my little pink fire lizard that I named Rose being the oldest of the new additions." She pet the pink as she landed on her shoulder. "So, how are you liking life in the Weyr?"

Janvia chirped a friendly hello to Rose in response and for the moment at least seemed more interested in the Pink Fire Lizard rather than was going on with Carissa. “Life has been alright I guess since coming here, though Callistath’s flight happening so soon after I transferred over to Dalibor form Igen Weyr it was a little rushed,” said Carissa. “It’s been a little hectic between now and then with the first Dragon and wher Dual clutch being my first hatching at since coming here, my first time standing as a Dual Candidate as well. Things certainly have calmed down since the hatching though, but there’s still tension about the new Weyrleader, I don’t really know what to make of it myself really. Here’s hoping that things turn out all right, there’s enough controversy and disasters plaguing this Weyr already, I don’t want to see any more bad things happen to this place.”
I don’t want that either, said Junonth trying to reassure her bonded, Janvia trying her best with a couple of chirps as well.
“For better or for worse things are certainly interesting around here at the very least, the first Cyan, Viridian, Tan, and now Burgundy Dragons came for Dalibor clutches,” said Carissa trying to lighten up the mood.

Aelynn nodded, thinking back to her first Hatching at Dalibor. "Yeah, I know what you mean. All the Hatchings here seem to be crazy in their own way. Especially the double Hatchings. I really don't think it mattered that it was a Wher and a Dragon Clutch, though the Whers might have made it a whole lot more likely for violence to happen. I don't know for sure. I've never actually been to a Wher Hatching before that. Though I have heard stories that Wher Hatchings can get very bad." She said, brushing Eicheleth in a new spot.
"Yes, here's to hoping. Though with this Weyr, there's always some big surprise around the corner. Whether good or bad, who knows until it gets here?" Aelynn chuckled. Life was so full of surprises. Eicheleth had been one such surprise, and one the girl was grateful for. "I think that this Weyr will carry on, no matter what happens. I just get that feeling from a lot of the people here."
Aelynn smiled and nodded. "Things are most definitely interesting here. The Burgandies, I think they'll fit in just fine here. With there being so many of them in that Hatching, I would say that they're a male fighter color. Which would at least even things out a little. Three male fighter colors and three female fighter colors. Oh, I'm rambling now, aren't I?"

“Some people don’t think that way,” said Carissa. “Dalibor managed to pull through most of it without too many casualties; if we weren’t then we would’ve dissolved long ago. Then again D’lios was the one that started it all off, though I was too young to remember or care about that when it did happen. I doubt that it will take much longer for rumours to spread about the appearance of Burgundies in this clutch, there’s always going to be rumours. If Burgundies appear in a clutch not sired by Perbiath or a Burgundy that will hopefully dissolve any accusations that it was Perbiath being the sire was the sole cause of the Burgundy colour.”
It shouldn’t really matter either way if you ask me, said Junonth.
I agree, but you can’t expect everybody to have the same opinion as you all the time, said Carissa to Junonth moving over to another part of Junonth that needed to be oiled. “Just have to wait it out and hope for the best, as for talking too much it’s alright I don’t mind it.” Carissa really didn’t mind, just talking to the other girl was enough to her even if Aelynn did most of the talking most of the time.

Aelynn nodded her agreement. "That is true. It's a good thing we're all so resilient, I guess." She said, her voice fading out as she went into thought. She thought about what she had been doing around the time the first of the Holds on the Western Continent were founded. She couldn't think of exactly what she had been doing, but she suspected it had to do with helping her parents out with their small farm. She had been doing that for so long.
"Yeah, hopefully that will stop that argument. But there may still be people who insist that D'lios and his dragon were behind it somehow." She chuckled at the thought. A dragon who was like Perbiath, who from what she had heard was a sweet dragon, contriving to bring a new color into the world. D'lios, she could see doing that from what she knew of him. But she doubted he would purposefully do that. She didn't even know how he could. She just thought it was luck that brought the Burgundies out when they did come.
Aelynn sighed, and smiled. "I just feel like I'm being a bit of a conversation hog, and that's not really me." She wiped the brush over some of the rougher patches of Eicheleth's hide at that moment. The Black was still small, but she knew he wouldn't always be this way. He wouldn't grow to be as big as Carissa's Green, but to her, a Black was still a big dragon. She wondered how big the two dragons would be when they were fully grown.

“I don’t really talk a whole lot on a regular basis unless it’s with Junonth to be honest,” said Carissa. Junonth was getting bigger by the sevenday, before Spring came the Green Dragonet’s shoulder would be taller than Carissa. That Spring would also mark the first full turn that she would spend at Dalibor Weyr as well as her eighteenth turn anniversary. “Is it okay if I asked you what lead up to you coming to Dalibor? You don’t have to answer me, if you want to completely change the subject its fine by me I won’t think worse of you. The aging wherhandler stationed at my family’s farming hold in Tillek died so me and my sister Talena volunteered to try and Impress a new wher at High Reaches Weyr. I was left standing while Talena Impressed a Blue, and after that I decided to transfer over to Igen Weyr to try and Impress there. That didn’t work out but while there a Searchrider said that I could stand for Dragons as well if I wanted to, I was already planning to transfer to Dalibor by the time the Searchrider said that so I became a Dual Candidate when I got here.”
Not sure what to say after that, Carissa turned her full attention on oiling Junonth sincerely hoping that she hadn’t said anything that would upset the other girl.
