{desc=Seph/Kira}Another day, another washing. Tauth was growing quickly and as such needed a lot of oiling. Not as much as the larger colors, no, but it still astounded her that he itched as badly as he did. The problem wasn't necessarily that he itched, though... it was that he didn't tell her immediately when he did. Dearest Kira, you would oil me in time. It is required, three times a day, as yet.
The weyrling raised her eyebrow at the blue. He was a bit slyer than he had first appeared, stealing that line and changing it from Baihujinth when they had come across him being oiled. "Yes, but it's important to tell me anyway. I don't want you to have any cracks or scars from being dry, and I could get in a lot of trouble, be accused of neglecting you, because of it! So don't make trouble for me. I want you to be okay. You're my own precious Tauth." The last few words were gentle and loving as Kira reached over to pull his muzzle close, a pause in her tending of his hide.
Tauth hummed gently, a tune that he had picked up from his rider's music that she played as he fell asleep. You would never neglect me, Mine. If they ever accuse it, I will refute it with all my heart and soul. Never fear about that. He gave her a gentle nuzzle. When we are done, will you play for me again? I liked the song you played for me the last time that you put me to nap. The blue had a better memory than most blues, but still was rather fuzzy that she had been playing that tune once a sevenday for the last few months. He really only recalled best the last three weeks.
"I will, but we are doing a double oiling this time, just to make sure that you don't dry out and so I am confident that you will stay nice until the next oiling. Okay?" Kira was only halfway done with this first one to begin with. But she was running late, Tauth had been slower than usual getting started and ready, and as she glanced around Kira wasn't sure that she would actually have time to do it. Would K'var accept Tauth's lack of self-care as a valid reason to be late? Probably not. Riders had to be on-time and ready for anything when called upon. She sighed. "Or perhaps only one...." Her eyes scanned the shore and caught sight of one of the Candidates that was out and about, helping several of the weyrlings with their oiling.
Kira raised her hand and beckoned him over. "Hey! I could use a little help. I'm doing a double oiling on the boy. He doesn't tell me when his skin is dry, so I'm making sure.... Well. Anycase, help would be wonderful! I'm Kira, by the way. Nice to meet you." She held out her hand to greet him. After all, he might Impress this next time and be a weyrling alongside her!
