{desc=[Twitchie!]}About once a week, when Draolor had free time, he would go to M'dag and Ka'mond's weyr for dinner. Sometimes he'd climb there through the winding stairs and passageways that ran around the weyrs; sometimes Barahath or Abyrath would carry him. Abyrath was small enough for him to ride easily, kind of like a very big horse. With Barahath, he couldn't do any air tricks because the purple was so big. Calamity would fly after them, and Rocky had learned to run for the weyr whe Draolor told him to go find da. Draolor had hoped a dog could be trained to stand on a dragon's head and ride like that, but no. He would have to make Rocky some kind of a strap or a basket when his own dragon was big enough.
Sometimes he felt a bit weird about his new family. Now he suddenly had three dads, one of which was a dragon, and his new mom was a dragon too, and they were all much younger than the other candidates' or weyrbrats' parents.
But then again, he had heard a story about a boy who was raised by bears and sabre cats in the wilderness. So 'weird' depended on who you asked.
"Abyrath! Over here!" He waved at the pink dragon and jumped a few times. Then he stopped jumping, because he was no longer eleven. Calamity whistled at the pink. He watched the dragon float through the air and suddenly felt a warm breath on his back.
Boo.
Draolor turned a little to look at Barahath. "I wasn't scared!"
Were too. I'm a big, scary predator. Roar.
Barahath grinned, revealing lines of very sharp teeth. Draolor smirked. He was too big to be giggling at Barahath's silly jokes.
At the same time, Rocky ran towards the two riders' Weyr. He ran right in front of the door, tail wagging, and sat down. Staring at the door did nothing, so he whined and offered it his big front paw.
The door opened.
"Wh-whoah!" M'dag fell backwards as Rocky jumped into him. Opening a door to Rocky was always more or less hazardous. The dog's tail wagged from side to side and he licked M'dag's face and ears. The man flailed. "Ka'mond, hee-eeelp! Yes, yes, you are a good dog but I need t-to get up!"
Nurmi zoomed over, vrrrmmming delightedly. He liked Rocky. Rocky would run with him for ages! Indeed, the dog jumped off the humans and barked at the brown pillie.
Family dinners tended to start with a chase.
