Personality:
Naim is content being either leader or follower. Studying under a MasterHerder has taught him to respect those higher up but also to know when to take charge. Getting people to cooperate and work together is his strength and he hates it when people do not work together. He does understand that people do not get along and that personalities clash but putting aside your differences to get things done is very important to him. Still, it is rare for him to loose his temper as he is generally mellow and pleasant. The only times he does get more aggressive or angry is when something threatens someone close to him. Naim likes to meet new people and is very trusting of those around him unless he has specific reason not to. He has had a few relationships at the hold but never anything too serious.

Naim is very interested in learning new things especially involving animals and dragons so being at the weyr has led to a slightly more cheerful Naim that normal. This being said, he's not one to show his excitement about things and tends to internalize while remaining pleasant and calm. Naim has a generally positive outlook on things and is good at keeping calm in stressful situations.

His main downfall is his fear of tunnelsnakes, since being bitten by one as toddler he's been wary of them and loathes walking tunnels alone. He prefers to stay outside or aboveground where the sun is and nasty tunnelers (as he calls them) don’t roam. If he sees one he'll bolt and get outside as quickly as possible.




Appearance:



Hair bleached blond by long days in the sun and lean with muscles from riding and herding all day, Naim stands at almost 6' and is of an average weight and build. His skin is moderately tan he has several scars on his chest back and arms from falling from a runner, chasing off someone, or generally being foolish and hurting himself though that was mostly when he was younger. Naim keeps his hair cropped shorter on the sides and little bit longer on the top and is generally messy as if he's just woken up. He has dark eyebrows that are on the thicker side, he has a slightly prominent nose but nothing too monstrous. Even if he shaves in the morning he will quickly have a shadow and so he tries to shave every other day and most of the time he's pretty scruffy and looks slightly disheveled. Naim usually has a pleasant smile on his face and looks quite harmless. His voice is slightly deeper than normal and he speaks very casually and tends to cut words shorter than normal such as running to runnin' and things like that.

Grey Dappled Dreybeast Mare - Daylla (working to get 30 marks unless its more, won't play her or mention her til she's paid for)




Appearance: Daylla is a large Dreybeast and looks similar to an English Shire. Her coat is a dappled grey and is somewhat shaggy with long feather on her feet. Her long white mane and tail are usually tightly braided and kept out of her face.

Personality: A friendly and fearless beast, Daylla is a gentle giant who is a hard worker and fast runner but dislikes pulling loads. She adores Naim and will approach passersby to check them out. Daylla is very curious and has no fear of dragons as Naim made sure to get her accustomed to the by leading her out to see them whenever one arrived.

History:
Tarim spent the majority of the first few decades of his life at Keroon apprenticing in Herdercraft. After walking the tables at 20 he was transferred to Inland Hold to work with the herds there. During his first few weeks at Inland he met a woman training to be a midwife and after two turns of courting Nailla gave birth to their first son, Naim. Shortly after the birth of their second son, Tair, the couple and their two small children moved to the newly founded Crescent Hold in order to work with the herds there. In the next four turns she gave birth to one more boys, Nallim, and finally a girl, Tailla.
Growing up Naim took special interest in his father's Herding as did Tailla. Growing up the pair were inseparable, Tailla adored Naim and the two spent many a day out with the herdbeasts and runners. When Naim was 10 he began training under the Masterherder there, learning the ins and outs of Herdercraft. By 13 he would help his father in the fields every day and his father bought him his own runner named Forest, a hardy beast he spent everyday riding in the field. His sister still spent time with him but it was mostly exchanges of words as he rode his runner around and passed her as she sat on the fence and watched.
When Naim was 16 his sister began training under the MasterHerder as well. As a present to her Naim gave her his prized runner and went to a local Gather to find himself a new one. He did intend to buy a runner and was looking through the stalls but his eye was drawn to a year old dreybeast who he ended up purchasing and naming Daylla. While she was bred to pull loads, she was ridden and treated just as a runner and spent the day with Naim herding the herdbeasts around the fields.
One cold winter day the apprentice Herder was in the fields when a Searchrider came to Crescent. The bluerider landed quite close to the field and spooked several of the beasts in the field. Riding Daylla out towards the rider to complain instead the blue ended up Searching him. Naim refused to leave immediately though as he didn't want to leave his dreybeast behind and ride with the blue to the Weyr.
After a few days of preparation he packed his things in packs on Daylla's back bid farewell to his family. Much to the dreybeast's distress she was put in a stall on a boat and had to endure a ride by ship to the Weyr. Naim spent the majority of the time in the grey beast's stall and once they were landed they spent several hours relaxing in the sun and riding around as the dreybeast enjoyed the feel of solid ground under her feet.
Once at the weyr Daylla settled in quickly to her new home and Naim also soon called the candidate barracks home though he got a few dirty looks when he told people that he was an apprentice Herder which he could understand because of the recent poisonings.
