Spring had most definitely sprung. The air was starting to warm up compared to the chilly Winter days that had come and gone. Ryiah was now wearing short sleeves and capri length pants. Though she loved Winter for the white snow, she had grown tired of the long sleeves and long pants that went along with that. With her first two Hatchings come and gone without an Impression made, she was wandering the Weyr.
She had ended up in the Weyr Bowl before coming to a stopping point. The sun was out that morning, with it shining down on the Weyr and its inhabitants. Spark, her little Black firelizard, yawned as the sunlight woke him up. And just as he was named for, he was a little spark of energy as he was fully awakened. He was zipping from one spot to another, as quick as he could. Ryiah couldn't help but to laugh.
Not a day had gone by that her little Black didn't have this much energy. She was always amazed by him. He didn't seem much like a normal Black. He was not quiet, but loud and very playful. If she didn't hear a chirp from Spark, then she would be worried. But the little guy was chittering away as he flitted above Ryiah's head. She had little idea as to what this day held in store for her, but whatever it was, she was ready for it.

Things were warming up significantly, which put the Candidate in a better mood. Not even not lingering thoughts on being left standing, or any coming hatchings could dampen his spirits. Snow was just one of those things that Aleksandr hated the most...
Ded deeee...
Well almost.
Never failed, he'd be sitting somewhere nice and quiet or something and then she would pop out of no where, or he'd just notice her presence -- and almost jump out of his skin. She of course seemed to have no idea that he was actually terrified of the little pillie. Even after a few months, she still managed to make his skin crawl.
"What?" he snipped at her, backing up several paces. He had no sharding clue how Kai managed to talk him into keeping her. But he did, and sometimes... he found she had a ridiculous personality, silly spacy... bug. Or this could be Sandr actually trying to like her, like he had promised he'd do. He supposed it wasn't her fault for being absolutely disgus-- A chirrup knocked him out of his thoughts, purposefully. Zorion his oldest blue loved her to pieces even with her spacey highlights. So any cruel or frightful thoughts that his seemed to have Zo would be sure to interrupt and change the mood.
He sent Sandr a hazy image of water, and then indicated towards the pink pillie sitting in her small tub of water. The boy made a face, "you take her." he huffed but Zo didn't seem to listen instead he looked as if he told the bug his plans and she started to circle in her tub excitedly waving her feelers, seemingly enjoying this plan. Since it wasn't her own. Sandr was convinced that she would be happy to sit there all day if he convinced her it was a good plan. If he felt like actually speaking to her, right now. Guilt sort of settled in his stomach at those thoughts, and he sighed heavily. "Fiiine, fine. Lets go."
Once he was outside feeling the warmth everything, not even a million legged bug was bothering him. Instead he focused on the outside plus Jem and Zo's excitement at being outside with their bonded. Ded she'd exclaim again crawling in a small circle, legs brushing against his neck. He missed a step, stumbling suddenly -- okay so not even the weather could take away how much he hated her touching.
Zo was on his other shoulder, and he chittered amused by his bonded's silly fear. But he wrapped his tail around his neck so he'd be okay. That was until he spotted Ryiah up ahead. The blue chirped suddenly betweening away up to the girl's side flying circles around her and the black flit, lets partyy! Aleksandr cursed under his breath and caught up to the girl and his party loving flit.
"Sorry!" he apologized quirking an equally sorry smile, "he's... uh. He's crazy." The offending blue plopped back to his shoulder sticking his tongue out at Sandr. The pink pillie on his shoulder wavered her feelers absent mindedly on his other shoulder. "Uhh you're a candidate right? I'm Aleksandr... or Sandr."" he asked aaand introduced offering his hand in greeting. "I'm awful with names."
"Were you heading anywhere specific?"

Ryiah almost didn't notice the Blue as he came up to her, almost. Once he was close, though, it was hard to miss him. He was a pretty shade of Blue. She didn't have long to wait until she saw the owner of the Blue. When the boy began to talk, she giggled.
"Oh, he's fine. Spark needs someone to play with anyway. The little ball of energy that he is. And speak of the devil.." She said, as Spark noticed the Blue. He flew up to the Blue and chirped excitedly at him. New friends to play with! He just loved all of this.
"Anyway, yes. I am a Candidate as well. A Dual Candidate, to be precise. I'm Ryiah. It's nice to meet you Aleksandr. Always good to meet other Candidates. Good to have friends to root for at Hatchings, whether one Impresses or not." Ryiah told him, blushing a little.
There was a little pause before she answered the last question he asked her last. She didn't quite know herself if there was a specific place she was going. She had just been wandering the Weyr enjoying the day. "Honestly, I don't think there was. It was just such a nice day outside that I could hardly stay inside. What about you? What brings you out here this fine day?"

His smile brightened into one of his more usual smiles when she giggled. You never know with some people, it was always better to be safe than sorry. Although it was hard to play the safe side when a certain someone flit is too social with no personal boundaries. "Great! Well Zo is definitely his flit then, he replied shrugging his shoulder, "go. Play, he told the brilliant blue lizard.
The blue chirped and hopped off his shoulder to greet the black. Although this was done in an elaborate loop around Spark, cooing playfully. The pink pillie catching on to all the excitement crawled around in a small circle on his shoulder. Ded dee-ded deeee..! she announced skittering down Sandr's body. Said boy tensed for a moment, until the feel of her creepy crawly legs was gone and she was ded dee ded-ing at the flits flying above.
His attention was back on Ryiah and he quirked a charming yet goofy smile. "Well then i'm your man," he said, "the people who root for me tend to impress. I'm like one of those awkward good luck charms, too big to fit in a pocket. Or something." A lie really, but he did notice he lacked a room mate after each hatching.
He'd shrug, "ehh about the same as you," and then his smile was back "Waaay too nice to stay inside, and certain weyrlings tend to be really busy." Certain werylings meaning K'ius of course... and another newly dubbed weyrling who was a bit on the tiny side (and loved dolphins a lot.)
"Lets just walk then?" he offered, turning to click at his pillie who perked suddenly and skittered to his heel, Ded.. "So. You been here long?" he asked dragging up some lame small talk... but he was trying.

Spark was definitely glad for a new friend. He was almost immediately darting around, playing with his new friend. Ryiah took just a moment to glance in the Black's direction before turning her attention back to her fellow Candidate. "Good luck charm, huh? Well, maybe I'm a good luck charm too. I'm not honestly sure. I didn't know very many people here my last couple of Hatchings. Though I know some of the newest Weyrlings. The ones that Impressed at the Tan's Hatching." She said, stopping for a breath.
"Boy, that was a strange one. Who would've thought there would be a wher egg at a dragon hatching?" That was still rather strange. How did the wher egg get there? She didn't know, nor did she know anyone who knew. That would just have to stay a mystery to her for the moment. Whers and dragons were definitely new to her, so she would just take it all in strides.
She thought about his first question for a moment. "Yes, let's walk." Ryiah got up from where she had been sitting. A walk would be nice, especially on a day as sunny as the current day. "Hm...How long have I been here. Just before the Tan's hatching. That's how long. I came here along with some of the other Holdless Candidates. How long have you been here?"
