{desc=Honkprank post of dooooooom!}Something was up. Gennesk was sure of it. He had seen the Evil Honk-Thing lurking about. Of course the Evil Honk-Thing was attached to Mini-Zabelith's and Mini-Zabelith's was Mini-Mouse's age and so they saw each other a lot which meant that the Evil Honk thing was always there causing Gennesk much grief. There was something... diferent about the Evil Honk-Thing's behaviour, though. It was quieter and more evil than usual, as if it was plotting something. And Gennesk didn't ever like plots, they made his head hurt.
Still, he shook thoughts like that out of his head. He was on a hunt! A hunt for treasure! His Esk-Treasure liked treasure, so he made sure to go out and find her pretty things every two days or so. Sometimes Mini-Ana helped him, since Mini-Ana loved pretty, shiny unique things and curated a vast collection of them. He liked treasure-hunting with Mini-Ana. The little blue gave him wonderful stories and unique mental pictures to go with the treasure. It was early enough for Mini-Ana to be about, since it was just about dusk, but the blue had some weyrling chores to attend, which Gennesk could understand. He was very proud that his Mini-Mine took his duties so seriously! That was a sure sign of his good influence. Still, it was sad to treasure hunt alone.
He raised his head suddenly, staring intently at the water. The cyan lurking there was a little creepy, even he had to admit, but there was nothing unusual about that. the Wild Red's Nesdeth was always strange.
***
Nessie, where are you lurking? Dawn couldn't keep the amusement out of her mind-voice as she reached out to her dragon. She was putting the final touches on her journey-work, fussing over it intently. She wouldn't present it until she had graduated to full rider-hood, but she still liked to spend a few hours every day making it perfect. Lacey was sitting on her perch, chittering at her animately, sending her fast clips of images of what marvelous flitty adventures she and Gracey had gotten up to during the day. Paks was... somewhere. Probably with Nessie. But there was something about the way Nesdeth's emotions were whirling that told the weyrling cyan-rider that her dragon was up to no good again.
I am conducting a psychological experiment. Dawn raised her eyebrow at the morbid glee in Nessie's voice.
I promised D'nari that you wouldn't put bugs in his bed again until after he graduated. She frowned at the woven Enciath, adding a little more of the paler shade to her.
I know. I am leaving him alone for now. I have more pressing... experiments. Nesdeth paddled back to land, blankly watching the wher who was trundling about the shore. She waited until he turned around and lifted her head completely under the water where she had been lurking like some kind of prehistoric monster. Her eyes turned a bright green, although they stayed caracteristically still as she let out a loud HOOOOOOOOONK!
Gennesk's eyes turned red and he whirled around, desperately seeking the Evil Honk-Thing. He would eat it! This time he would crunch it dead!

In W'lin's quarters, Genner suddenly cursed loudly. Don't even think about it, lizard!

Curiouser and curiouser. Things were slinking through the grapevine to her quite often now, in fact, they often got to her rather quickly. That was the best part about her little network, they were always around. The blak settled on her arm nibbled on a dried pieceo f meat as his eyes whirled. Clotho sat on her shoulder, alternating between extracting information from, and flirting with, the black with the curious wing marking. Soon, he was dismissed with a happy chirp to go join his Bonded.
“So, that was interesting.” Matilda mused aloud as Lachesis landed on her head, and Atropos took her other shoulder. She sat there in their room, brooding over the information before quickly standing. “We should test this! Lachesis, please go see if G'lin and Ana would mind me asking a question. Atropos, I need you to hunt down this firelizard that Jonah showed us, and Clotho, dear? Go see if you can acquire Asperath.” The rumor that had reached her was too interesting for her not to ask about, and potentially test out. Threading her fingers together, she watched as the trio of firelizard took wing and betweened to the areas they were needed. She would make her way out to the dining hall. Maybe, just maybe she should bring some apology treats, in case the rumors were true.

Elsewhere, Quince was lurking. Quince was a mighty huntress. A great huntress. And that thing was there. That thing that sometimes had Kida-friend around. Kida-friend was small, and did not speak like Kida did. Kida-friend's brown-lump did not like Quince. Quince obviously took offense and did not like him either. In fact, the green delighted in tormenting him, for as long as he proved entertaining, and she proved not-eaten. There were several close calls though. Twisting herself around a rock, she watched Brown-lump through whirling eyes. He looked startled! Yes! She had heard the clarion call to justice! It was not her call, but it was similar. Louder, but close enough. The time was now!
Puffing up, Quince inhaled as much air as she could. Leaping onto the rock, she braced herself and let out the loudest, bone shaking HOOOOOOOONK she could muster.

In the Weyrling barracks, Asperath was dealing with Clotho. The pink had latched onto his headknobs and was stretching out over them, her tail hanging over the side of his head. Quick pictures and tidbits of information flicked through his mind, slightly confusing the viridian. She wants me to do what? The viridian was both offended and unsure on how to react. A'til was working, and not quite paying attention.
Clotho cooed and patted him with her tiny claws. Surely the Viridian could do this one, insy-weensy thing for them, right? Surely he could help Matilda-hers. He was sooooo big and sooo brave! She knew! Clotho could always tell the best and bravest of dragons.
Asperath did like helping, and the healthy dose of ego-boosting didn't hurt. A'til mine, Clotho speaks of your sister. I think it would be best if I checked on her. A'til frowned a bit, looking up from his work. With a sigh, he set it down. “What did she do now? I guess we should go.” He looked back at his work and frowned again. You stay and work! I can do it. It's just checking on her. It will be fast! You know I'm fast. A'til raised a brow, but waved a hand dismissively. “Fine, go check on her. Tell me if you need me. “

Its been nearly one whole turn since she had met Saosk, and he'd grown so big. She remembered when she could just pick him up and hold him, now he couldn't even lift him. This of course pleased Sasok since he could no longer be 'man-handled' by his handler... well as easily as before. Sure he was proud when she was able to fend him off (even just for a second), but it still ruffled his figurative feathers when she could do it.
"I love you, you know." she'd tell him as they were walking along. The black stiffened, pausing for half a second before he kept going, shaking his head. YOU NO SAY STUPID SHARDING THINGS... SHARDIT! he bellowed whirling around to face her for a moment. Saowyn just smiled back with a light shrug of her shoulders. The smile was there because all she could feel through their bond was the affection he held for her -- even through his efforts to not let it show.
A noise in the distance caught the black's attention, the brilliant teal of his eyes were suddenly tarnished with amber/orange. YOU STAY, SAOSK HANDLE THIS he told her walking away towards the noise that had irritated him so much. Saowyn had begun to follow, but he whirled around SO ANNOYING. LISTEN TO SAOSK! STAY!. Saowyn fought to keep the smile off her face, he was so determined to handle this on his own. Saowyn had been here long enough to recognize a dragon noise or something akin to one -- she wasn't worried. "Fine. But stay out of trouble, and stay in contact!" she'd call after him. SHARDIT GIRLY, SAOSK KNOWS!.
The small black in his regular quiet ways, made his way down to the lake. With keen nocturnal eyes he spotted Gennesk, and possibly a dragon and something else. He didn't care. As soon as the brown was in his sights Saosk opened his large for wher wings and glided several feet before landing and suddenly rushing forward. He may have been slightly late to the party, but he'll crash it anyway. WHO DARES?! WHO DARES HONK?! SAOSK WILL TRAMPLE AND GNAW ON NO WORTH HONKER! he bellowed his mind voice sort of expanding everywhere. SAOSK COMMANDS NO WORTH HONKER SHOW ITSELF!.
Puffed up and yelling, is a norm for Saosk.
Saowyn not blocked from the out burst facepalms hard. "What did I tell you??"
SAOSK NOT START TROUBLE. BACKING GENNESK, WITH VOICE AND THREATS..

Malinoth and Mira probably would have happily waited quietly till the moons rose, without troubling anyone. But the mental shout of a certain black wher resulted in that plan getting upended; hard. Though Malinoth's reaction wasn't yet intended to annoy Gennesk but the honking WAAAAARK?! of confusion probably wouldn't help the Brown's sanity. Not that close on the heels of Nesdeth's experimental honk. Though Mira did finally note the others around the lake. She wasn't sure who the young dragon was until Malinoth finally managed to 'talk' I...think thats Nesdeth; Mira...I think she was the source of the honk we heard before someone else shouted in our heads. Maybe we should try to watch the moons rise tomorrow night...I might have annoyed someone with the noise I made.
But Mira grinned a bit once her gong quit ringing as she whispered "what? Mali scared of what those in positions of authority will do?". It might be getting dark but Mira could see the faint annoyed color of his swirling eyes before he mentally hissed I am not scared of them; you know very well what still scares me...I'll show you!. With that, another noise issued forth from the huge winged black. Though it was closer to a honk noise it still sounded a good deal like a bugled WARRRRRRRRK. After this second Warking honk however Mali started trying to slink along a path around the lake to concievably avoid whoever was shouting.
Grinning a bit Mira followed slowly after Malinoth; which turned out to be a good thing as she felt the familiar scuttling touch of Perrin up one leg and settle on her back about where her shoulders were. Followed by the fluttering of Asher and Nymeria; the smaller pink flumping lightly on her head as the flits and pillie sent fuzzy confused images at the girl "me an Mali are playing a game, its called 'be sneaky while Malinoth is loud' ok?". Two quiet cheeps and an affirmative chitter of mandibles were her response. Thus answered; the girl followed after her 'WARK'ing companion thinking at him we're probably gonna get reamed for this huh?. Which got her the mischievous response of your point Mira-mine? this is getting fun!.
-----
Meanwhile, as the sun continued its descent Randiel would have slept on till he honestly had to waken. But thanks to his flits hearing a dragon honking and deciding to imitate it...at top volume and his pillie insistently thwapping him on the face; sleep wasn't happening. So he sat up; putting Majere on the floor so he'd scuttle to his bucket and glared at Aela and Farkas "now what the shelling shards were you two honking for?". Then he heard the faint ruckus outside and went from glowering lightly out of annoyance at being woken to dead staring at his flits "you two are NOT to go out there without me and I am not heading out till I'm supposed to so GO TO SLEEP".
With that the boy tried to roll back in his bed furs to sleep, and listened to his flits eventually settle down. They wanted to go but didn't want Randi mad at them. Majere would have loved to go, but without his person opening the door he was stuck. That had been why he thwapped Randiel; to encourage the lump to let him outside. Oh well maybe another time.

Gennesk roared in outrage. His only ally now was the very stompable little ball-shaped black! This was intolerable! All the honking! He whirled around in a circle, looking for the source of it all, his eyes whirling a bright angry red. He tore at the ground with his claws. It was all the Evil Honk-Thing's fault! He would eat it! This is what it was planning! He was going to eat it and crunch it and make it dead and gone and then he would dance his dance of victory!
Nessie, are you making Gennesk angry? Dawn asked her dragon, suspicious. There was smug silence in reply to her query. Shard it, Nesdeth, you're going to get us both in trouble! Stop that at once before he starts rampaging![/color]
Nesdeth half rose out of the water, flapping her wings and spraying water everywhere as she let out another loud honk, calling Quince closer.
Gennesk lost it. Furious, he charged the water where the sound was coming from, attacking it. Nesdeth wisely took to the sky, flying a safe distance off as she honked loudly. Gennesk charged again, blind with anger.
Genner growled, slamming the staff he had been training with into the ground. He turned, storming outside to see what was making his wher so upset. It couldn't just be Quince, the flit wasn't big enough to achieve such volume. Still, in his head, all he could hear was blind rage about honking and noise and evilness. He would have to put an end to this before they drove Gennesk batty.

Mottled hide blended into the ground as she crouched, surveying the land from her position. While the air was better for this, it was too conspicuous. No, Atropos knew how to work on land and in the air and she would use the former to her advantage the best she could.
Snaking through the underbrush, she followed the sounds. There was quite a loud one, followed by a much smaller one. The smaller one, she decided, was her prey. Picking up speed, she was able to land a tackle on the low flying Quince, receiving a startled honk with her actions. Sending rapid replies, she started to wiggle and drag her way from underneath the mottled-green.
--
Something had her! Something had her! Was her time up? Had Brown-lump finally got her? She had two options, thrash and try and get free, or accept her fate as wherfood. Quince didn't get either option, because just as quickly as she was tackled, she had been sat on. Atropos using her larger size to weigh down on the smaller green.
Oh. It wasn't the brown-one at all! But a fellow green kinsister! Part of that made it worse, betrayed by her own kin! But she noticed she was not betrayed. Just caught. Hmm. Quince stared at Atropos, who started sending her pictures. Slowly, Quince understood what was going on. So she rapidly replied, sending her own pictures as she pulled and wiggled her way free. .
Abruptly, Atropos stood and took to the air, leaving Quince to scramble closer to the Cyan. This one honked too. Were they honksisters? Yes. Quince decided they were honksisters.
--
"Oh, already found her Atropos? What did you learn?" Matilda tilted her head, leaning against Asperath's leg. The Viridian rumbled a bit and she patted him lightly. "Let's hear what she learned, then I'll explain everything in full, ok?"
