For all that the Weyr was new, it was also small. No matter, Zahir was having a gay old time preoccupying himself. It didn't take much, sad to say. At present he was kneeling by the water, poking at a rock that he swore had moved not long ago. Set to watching it in case it tried to make a get away, he slowly reached out a finger to poke at the offending object with uncertainty.
Then, with a slight breeze came a ripple or two on the waters edge. Zahir's blue eyes left the rock, and so did his mind. Standing up, he walked a few steps to where he'd seen the ripples form. Leaning over the water to stare on down at it, he contemplated just how deep it was. Was it anything like a bath? Probably not since he didn't see anyone bathing here.
He still found it strange that such a large body of water existed outside of a bathing pool. He wasn't sure what to make of it, or how to feel about it. He liked when the water moved, because it made him picture an invisible man taking giant steps in order to make it do so. Maybe there was invisible things in the water, or at least things he couldn't see... The thought made him shiver, and shuffle his feet back so that he wasn't so close.
To be simple-minded had it's cons, that much was certain. The brown-haired boy felt alone, all of a sudden, wondering if anyone was bound to come along that he could attach himself to. It was far too quiet out here. He wished for anything but silence, and so he began to talk to himself, "Quite a day we're having, yes. Nothing to sweep, though... a shame... But we're clean... yes." Making a face, he finally drew his gaze away from the water, and to a nearby tree. "Hello there friend," he smiled, moving sideways so that he could better peer up into the branches. "Do you find it too quiet out here as well? Perhaps you should speak up then, for the benefit of us both."
