Moving, as it turned out, was an incredibly stressful thing.
It didn’t help that every time he packed something, Shobhaith would sneak it out of the pack and hide it somewhere in the room. Kai supposed that the purple found this exceedingly amusing, because once he found his pack completely empty. He gave a low growl/sigh combination and just glared at his dragon, as if looks could kill. “I hate you so much. You don’t even know.”
The purple stretched out on his couch, eyes blue and green and filled with mirth. Liar. You love me and I know it. You can never hideeeee anything from me. He pulled an article of clothing he’d been hiding between his forepaws and dropped it in his boy’s lap before nudging him affectionately with his massive nose.
K’ius forgave the purple after that.
Once the dragon finally allowed him to finish and they’d gotten to their assigned weyr, he had decided to be a wherrybrain again and was having none of this settling in stuff. The dragon was over the moon, perching on his new ledge and looking out at all the other dragons. The view is amazing, K’ius. You should come see! “I’ll take your word for it.” The boy grumbled. His firelizards were currently getting used to the new place, flitting back and forth. Titania was predictably absent, and Eponine was having a hard time moving her collection of shiny things to the new place. She had a small pile and creeled indignantly at Kai every time she popped back in.
…like it was completely his fault.
Jaeger was on the bed, hissing down at Jax, who was super excited and just wanted someone to play with…even if the pille wasn’t terribly convinced at the dog’s motives.
All in all, it was too much all at once.
Then Sho spoke up. Come with me. “I’m a little busy.” The dragon stretched his neck around to look at the boy and just stared at him, amusement coloring his mindvoice. You’re staring at that shelf like you can magically fill it with your mind. Hardly productive. What I propose is much more fun. Kai looked away from said shelf and glared at the dragon. “What, exactly, do you propose?” There was a mischievous lilt to the amusement now as he nudged the boy. That’s secret. I’ll tell you we’re gonna see someone you want to see very much. That didn’t ease any of the boy’s suspicion, but he assumed the dragon meant Aleksandr. He admitted to himself that it’d be good to see his best friend and went to go get on his dragon.
It wasn’t until they were halfway to Yenna’s weyr that Kai flipped out. “Sho, you dirty liar, we are not going to Sandr’s!” Never said we were. You want to see Tuonetath’s very much, you just don’t know it yet. While his rider was freaking out mentally, Shobhaith sought out the mind of his favorite orange. Tuonetath, lovely. It’s Shobhaith and I have mine with me for once. Mind if we visit with you and yours? Sho didn’t expect Tuo to actually inform her’s of this impromptu visit…sometimes the dragons just knew best.
