So you were born in an electrical storm, Took a bite out the sun, And saw your future in a machine built for two. Now your rays make me kind of go crazy.
If D'lios saw her, she was having Kalith eat Perbiath. Well, Kalith would like to eat Perbiath anyway. She wouldn't actually. She needed that Lord Holder in one piece. Anyway, Fajra ducked into the barracks with a purpose. She had some personal experience with the shininess of the Lord Holder's clothes. She went to search his room, leaving her copper outside to prowl about and guard their spot. Kerath and W'al were escorting them, and the purplerider followed after, equable to the process and more than willing to see if the arrogant weyrling might have anything else stashed in his room with his roommate that he might want to know about. She pushed the door open with moderate force. She hardly even cared about winning. Alright, fine, she only cared about winning, but also figuring out how anyone could think it was alright to go stealing things. Weyr justice was worse than hold justice for most offenses, and, even if others would laugh it off with the joke, she wasn't the sort to grant exceptions. She already had ideas of who it was, but a little investigation wasn't bad. She moved for the chest. W'al stood at the door, smiling at watching the Weyrwoman with her intensity.
Come on, do what you want. Oh, come, on come on. What could go wrong? Do, do, do, do what you want.

Undoubtedly, the Weyrwoman's suspicions on who was behind all of this were correct. Last night, Pratyba had gone to steal L'ven's notes and hide the clues, but she and the other two who had agreed to tag along with her had also had another mission: setting booby traps, of course!
And, if the clue mentioned 'shiny clothes,' D'lios, former Lord Holder, was a pretty obvious guess, even if it was incorrect. His room was perfect for hiding these! While he was out at breakfast (she couldn't come in while he was sleeping in there!), she'd rigged up one of her favorite traps, a classic. W'al had seen it before, she thought with a smile as she'd stuffed a nice, overripe redfruit onto the flexible wooden spring and snapped the trunk shut. She'd tried it on him when he'd first arrived here, and it had hit Kerath right on the nose... those were the days!
When Fajra opened the trunk, the spring-loaded redfruit was catapulted out. There was no way even a 'Rider's reflexes would be fast enough to avoid it! SPLAT.[/FONT]

Shock and awe and amaze me, Just a ticker tape parade and me, But something was wrong, Till you tap danced on the air.
Fajra closed her eyes at the sight of a fruit headed for her. Her lips pursed dangerously as it splattered over her face. With one hand, she wiped the remnants from her face and sighed as she realized it was in her hair. Apparently, what she was looking for was not there. Wiping more of the fruit from her face, she stood before finally opening her eyes. She made for the door with an even stride. Other than a tenseness, she had hardly reacted at all.
Behind her, W'al refrained from laughing at her. "That looks like Pratyba's handiwork;" the weyrlingmaster commented mildly, standing back to allow her out of the room. He would expect no less of Pratyba. However, he wasn't going to protect her from Fajra. She had wanted her fun, and he wasn't going to interfere with that in anyway. He would simply assist Fajra, and then leave it at that. The redhead was perfectly capable of handling it properly.
"I'm not overly surprised;" the Weyrwoman replied mildly, striding past him. Outside, Kalith was raging, hissing like a fiend. Kerath stayed out of the way, keeping out of the range of her anger. Her rider might take the offense with no reaction, but she wasn't having it! Well, until her rider started calming her, assuring her that everything would be handled in time. They had to win first. Kalith hissed, one more time, in agreement to this sequence.
Come on, come on. Do what you want. What could go wrong? Oh, come on, come on, come on.
