The Searchdragon dropped the red-haired girl off right at the Candidate Barracks, which was rather convienent. Engrye wouldn't know if that was what they were supposed to do, she'd never been a Candidate before. She stopped to look at the Barracks for a moment with a pensive expression on her face, as though judging it. This seemed to be a decent enough place to live, and if she kept quiet and to herself like she had at Western Hold she'd be able to Impress a dragon without having people bother her. Perfect.
With a slight flip of her hair Engrye approached the Barracks and looked around. Oh... maybe she should have gone somewhere first to get her room? But she didn't know where. Wasn't the Searchdragon supposed to give her one, or did she just pick an empty room and claim it? There didn't seem to be enough rooms for the amount of Candidates there probably were, but Engrye could probably make an educated guess. She was smart enough. She figured no one was going to come out and welcome her to the Weyr, because she was just a Candidate. Nothing special, just a little higher than a drudge.
She frowned slightly when after a while she couldn't find a list of rooms or something similar. Really, how hard was it going to be to find her room? Engrye felt stupid for not being able to find it, but she wasn't going to let herself look frustrated or angry. Or confused, for that matter, but that was too hard to hide, considering she was pacing back and forth through the Barracks, obviously looking for something. Engrye half hoped that someone would approach and ask her what she was looking for, because she was never going to go and ask someone else. That was demeaning, and Engrye was never going to demean herself.
Eventually she stopped her pacing and crossed her arms, staring down the barracks with a very confused look on her face. This was really stupid. How hard was it to find a sharding room?

Foot steps. They paced back and forth in front of his room, until finally, they stopped.
Tylar frowned, rolling out of his bed, landing on the floor with an 'oof' - though his feet had hit the floor under him. It didn't help that he'd been half asleep. Considering how long his day had been, even if it wasn't over yet, he deserved some sleep. Even Akal was sleeping - Tylar glared at the flit "You going to come with me?"
Akal didn't stir, so Tylar returned to his earlier thoughts, who ever was outside clearly needed something, and he could earn a few favors, couldn't he?
And considering the fact he hadn't heard anyone's footsteps leaving the area, he had to assume that who ever the foot steps belonged was still out there.
A few moments passed as Tylar prepared himself to meet the mysterious person who stood outside his room, he quickly fixed his hair, careful to give it a rather mussed, wind blown appearance, and he pulled his shirt down so it would appear less wrinkly, giving him a more crisp appearance. Rater oxymoronic, but Tylar thought he pulled it off rather well...
When he was satisfied with how he looked, Tylar poked his head out of the doorway, letting out a low whistle as he did. "Who're you?" he questioned demandingly, holding off on the more obvious questions until he'd gleaned some insight into the girl. On second thought, he added in a less abrupt tone, "And what are you doing out here? Don't you have a room some where that you should be?" Tylar grinned lazily as he waited for a response.
She looked rather interesting. The girl had fiery red hair, and an annoyed look in her eyes. She almost reminded Tylar of himself, and the thought brought another amused smile to his face. This might just be fun...
This was about the point that Akal decided to join them, swooping from Tylar's room, and landing on his shoulder, tilting a head to examine the girl in front of him. Akal gave a little chitter, before falling silent as well. Both gave the impression of waiting for a reply...

While Engrye had been half hoping that someone would come and help her, she was not going to openly accept this. So when the boy came out of the room she was standing next to, she merely narrowed her eyes at him, not changing her expression to anything greatful or happy that someone had decided to come see who kept walking through the Barracks. She disliked talking to people, because other people were annoying and not worth her time. ...though, considering the situation, perhaps she could make an exception until she got more settled in here.
"I'm Engrye. A Candidate," she said, after the fire-lizard had swooped in. The Black flit got an eyebrow raise out of her, but she didn't comment. She liked fire-lizards, and she liked dragons. It was just the people they bonded to that she usually had a problem with. Tylar's second and third questions got her to think a bit more, and while pausing she took a moment to size up the boy who had come out to see her. He was shorter than her, though he had much more muscle. An interesting looking person, she supposed, though something about him annoyed her.
She considered for another moment, trying to decide if she should demean herself and say the reason she was walking. Why not? It's not like she was here to impress anyone. Except a dragon. Hah, bad pun. ...anyway... "I..." she paused again, frowning deeply at the thought of having to admit that she was actually confused, "Well, I do, but I can't seem to find it... I wasn't ever told to a room number. Is there a list of room assignments or something I should be looking for?" she finally asked, sounding very, very displeased and annoyed at having to ask something so ridiculous.

Tylar noted her gaze shifting towards Akal - even if she was only raising her eye brows at the black - and smiled slightly, though the smile had a slightly predatory edge to it. It probably wouldn't be all that reassuring, though Tylar honestly didn't care either way.
"I suppose you didn't ask the 'Rider who dropped you off if he knew what room you should be in?" Tylar questioned with a hint of incredulity, "Even if the 'Rider didn't know, I'm pretty sure that the 'Rider would've been able to show you where you could find out. Tylar rolled his eyes at the stupidity of the Candidate, though he wouldn't have asked the 'Rider either.
He would've just claimed a room, but clearly Engrye hadn't thought of that. Or maybe she had, and just hadn't mentioned it to her yet? The girl in front of him was hard to read, an enigma, though the last words that squirmed their way out of her mouth weren't that hard to read. She didn't want to demean herself? Well, it was certainly something similar to that, considering Engrye didn't look too happy about having asked anything of him.
Akal poked Tylar's neck with his tail, a clear reminder of something he'd forgotten, and it only took a sidelong look at the annoyed black to realize what it was he'd forgotten.
Hastily, Tylar added in an emotionless voice, "Almost forgot, I'm Tylar, and I'm also a Candidate." he jerked a thumb at his flit, "That's Akal, if you wondered."

Engrye decided that she disliked this Candidate's facial expressions. They had an odd look to her that she just didn't like. What, was he looking down on her? Did he think he was better than she was? She folded her arms across her chest and narrowed her eyes to a glare as he spoke again. He thought she was stupid, that much was very obvious from his tone of voice. Engrye wasn't the best at reading people, but anyone who had the nerve to imply that she was stupid was not someone that she was going to get along with. Even if her question had been... pretty stupid, in all honesty.
"Well, Tylar, no I didn't ask the Searchrider who dropped me off. Is that really the first thing to think of when you're being dropped off at a Weyr? What your room is going to be? Of course not," she snapped and rolled her eyes as well. She wasn't going to let some random Candidate she just met think of her as an airheaded idiot, though she'd probably already done that. Really, she should have just claimed a room instead of pacing, it was going to make people think she was stupid and give them reason to ridicule her.
She glanced at the Black fire-lizard again. "But I guess it was pretty stupid of me, wasn't it?" she said with an airy, dismissive tone, closing her eyes for a moment, "Almost as stupid as forgetting to introduce yourself and having to have a fire-lizard remind you." If Engrye had been more prone to smiles, she would have smirked, but instead the corners of her mouth slightly twitched up. He hadn't really been all that mean to her, but she didn't like his tone of voice, so she wasn't going to be any nicer to him. Not that Engrye was ever nice to anyone, with her cold disposition and disregard for anyone's feelings except her own.

Tylar waited patiently as she spoke, managing to bury the emotion that wanted to crawl towards his face, namely a fierce anger, and a little bit of annoyance.
He wasn't entirely successful in keeping them from his voice as he replied calmly, though after a few words, it returned to it's normal, devoid of emotion, tone "Maybe it wouldn't have been the first thing to ask him, but you might've thought of it." Tylar shrugged uneasily, his blue eyes narrowing slightly as he added in a more snide tone, "Then again, I don't blame you. Dalibor is rather overwhelming at first." Insult wise, it didn't come out as well as he'd planned for it to, but as long as Tylar knew what he meant, he didn't give a shard what Engrye thought.
"Akal's pretty smart." Tylar muttered defensively, "But forgetting to mention my name when I was trying to help" Tylar added a little extra emphasis on help, "Isn't all that stupid." Tylar narrowed his eyes again, daring Engrye to say something to the contrary. He had retorts ready, and he wasn't about to let some new Candidate stand him down, even if she was taller than him.
He hated needing to look up to see the girl's face, but he managed to do just so without coming across as too annoyed about being short - he didn't mind it too much, unless there were people around. Then again, there was almost always people around...
Akal glanced leisurely around, his perch on Tylar's shoulder secure, though he'd had to flail a bit for balance when Tylar shrugged. This girl had interrupted his nap, and therefore, he didn't like her too much, but the little flit might give her the benefit of the doubt if she fed him. Akal's eyes whirled faster at the thought of food, and they had a hint of the tell-tale crimson that marked hungry dragons and firelizards, something His failed to notice.

Engrye's little twitch of a smile/smirk went back down to a scowl as she looked at him, keeping her arms crossed across her chest. He was rather arrogant and her words had angered him, something that was not new to Engrye. Of course she had a touch of arrogance herself (maybe a bit more than that, but she rarely let it show) and her tolerance to insults made the Dalibor-is-overwhelming comment roll over her without a scratch. Well, perhaps it left a bit of a scratch, seeing as it made her gaze a bit more fierce. Or maybe it was his comment about helping her that set her off.
"Really? You would have?" she said, a fake question lacing her words, "I was far more focused on the opportunities and finally having a chance to Impress a dragon." Well, that and the fact that with a dragon she would be able to meet up with her brother again, but he didn't need to know that. She didn't even have to say anything to his "snide" comment about Dalibor, because it pretty much spoke for itself, in her opinion. To someone who had never been to a Weyr before, yes, it was very overwhelming. But she wasn't going to say that, either, because then it would be admitting a weakness.
It was the help statement that really set Engrye off, though, and her expression changed from mildly annoyed to flat out angry. "Help? Really? That was your way of helping me? Implying that I was stupid for not asking the rider to show me where to find the room assignments is a rather mean way to try and help someone," she said, her anger slightly subsiding by the last statement. People who claimed that they were helping by giving her a sarcastic statement were one of Engrye's biggest pet-peeves.
Not wanting to make eye-contact with him anymore, she glanced to his firelizard, noting the redness of hunger in his eyes. "While we're on the topic, maybe you should help," she spat the word out with clear venom in her voice, "that fire-lizard of yours get some food."

Tylar calmly waited as Engrye began to get angrier. When she finally exploded, it was worth the wait, she was practically snarling at him... He'd been right when he'd thought she would be fun to manipulate.
A few choice words - mentally, of course - later, Tylar grinned lazily, answering her first question, "Benden prepared me well, certainly better than where ever you came from did." he looked down his nose condescendingly - at least, as well as he could look down his nose, considering the fact that Engrye was taller than him. His emotions were carefully clamped down, and hidden from the Candidate in front of him, and his tone was cool and calm, as if he were bored when he added, "Benden Weyr that is."
He barely held back a snicker when she snapped furiously, her expression changing rapidly and anger burning across her face. This was definitely worth it... "I wasn't completely implying that you were stupid, merely that you weren't thinking at all. I'd say that I couldn't blame you, really, but that would be a lie. I asked my SearchRider where I'd be rooming." Certainly that last part was a lie, but rubbing it in was entertaining. Setting this girl off was entertainment at his finest, and she certainly made up for her interrupting his not quite nap.
Tylar ground his teeth in annoyance as Engrye voiced her final comment. That had angered him in a way her earlier comments hadn't, "Well, congratulations, you finally noticed something other than yourself." Tylar brought his hands together woodenly, a smirk stretched across his face. It felt completely fake, though Tylar wasn't sure if Engrye could tell.
'Food' It was the only word that got through to Akal, and he gave an exuberant chirp, blinking between hurriedly, arriving in the kitchens a few moments later. A few scraps of meat remained on the tables, left over from a few Dragon Rider's meals. Akal gave another chirp, hopping forward, towards a stew bowl. No drudges seemed to care, so he ate what remained of the Rider's meal. Akal planned to go back to His soon, but the sound of the word food reminded him of what he needed. One couldn't count on Theirs for everything...

Engrye took a few deep breaths. She had promised herself that she wouldn't allow anyone to get to her here, not like they had gotten to her at Southern Hold, but she was already breaking that. She breathed in a few more times, convincing herself that she had handled worse people than this. Really, girls were far more cruel than boys were, though each gender was cruel in it's own way, as Tylar was proving. She would not let herself be provoked.
She no longer looked angry, and her expression had softened to a more cold look, though she was still extremely annoyed. "Oh, so you were born at a Weyr? That explains a lot," she said, acting as though she had an obvious, well-known reason to say this, though it was really more of a bluff. This probably wasn't enough to make him angry, but Engrye hated Southern Hold and for ages she envied those who got sent off to Weyrs and even those that were born there. She wasn't going to defend it, in any case.
"You asked? You must be quite the dull person if you though of where you'd be rooming instead of the ambition and prospect of Impression," the corners of her mouth twitched again, but she didn't smile or smirk, keeping her cold expression as she continued, "Either way, you can't say that was an attempt to help me. You said nothing that would imply you were even going to show me where the room listings were posted." Engrye clenched her fists tightly to release her anger, though she relaxed them soon after speaking. She convinced herself that she had dealt with far meaner things and people, Tylar was nothing to her.
The fire-lizard flicking between at the word "food" was more amusing to Engrye than Tylar was. She really did like flitters a lot more than people. "Ah, thank you. And congratulations to you too, you failed to notice that your own bonded fire-lizard was hungry. Benden Weyr really trains its Candidates well." Engrye was not enjoying this, but she wasn't going to let Tylar get away with attempted insults. Maybe she could even have him slip up and tell her where the room assignments were posted.

Tylar sighed, forcing his expression back into its earlier calm and controlled appearance. Perhaps she was getting more annoying than was worth... If he told her where the room assignments were, would she leave? A grin broke across Tylar's face as he began to plan, his dark blue eyes gleaming with excitement, though he clamped down on them rapidly.
He smirked lazily. She was getting worse at insults than before, struggling to come up with something that would get under his skin - that was how it appeared to him, anyways. "Yes, I was born at a Weyr, which is more than you can say, I imagine." he replied loftily, lifting his head to examine the figure of the girl. She seemed to be getting a grip on her anger, which Tylar wasn't too happy about. He'd been having fun annoying her, other than that comment about Akal - which he wasn't going to let get under his skin anymore. "Let me guess, you were born in some tiny cothold or another and have always wanted to be Queen Rider? When you were searched, it was your dream come true, and now you have your heart set on riding a Queen?" Again, he attempted to look down his nose at her, and again, he probably failed.
Tylar rolled his eyes, "Who said I wasn't getting there?" he questioned coolly, "I might've even told you where the listings were posted if you wouldn't interrupt me every few moments. Learning to keep your mouth shut once in a while might help you." every inch of his expression said 'dimglow' as Tylar waited for her to get all annoyed again. She shouldn't be controlling herself, not when Engrye was so much more fun angry. "Then again, you don't look smart enough to be able to learn that. It was a very pointed insult, designed by Tylar to specifically make Engrye furious again, and distract her from her path that would lead her to the room listings.
Tylar didn't move as Akal jumped between, he was used to it by now. "And who's fault is that?" he questioned with a smirk, driving the blame towards Engrye once more. "You were distracting me by getting so angry with every other breath you take." he pointed out, with a sly grin "I couldn't help it if I was worried that you'd slap me or whatever it is that you girls do when you're sharding furious."
Akal licked the few last dribbles of meat juice from his mouth, his black tail whipping from side to side with a hint of pride as he sprang into the air once more, flapping around the kitchens, making a general nuisance of himself as he waited for the slight calming in His' mind that would allow him to know that the girl that entertained His so was gone...

Engrye didn't care about being born at a Weyr. No, she wasn't, and she'd seen the quality of people that came out of Holds. She had more than enough experience with Holdgirls to know that people who came from Holds were cruel dimglows. Everyone except her, that is, because she certainly didn't see herself as a dimglow. His next comment about being a "Queen rider" began to crawl under her skin. She had never once thought about riding a Queen, she wanted to be a rider so she could make her brother proud of her. How dare he even imply that she was one of those stuck-up wherrybrained girls that only wanted to ride a Queen.
But she took a breath before responding, controlling herself. "Why do you say that like it's a bad thing? I bet you're just the same way about riding a King. I don't think anyone wants a midget Weyrleader, though," she had finally noticed his attempts to "look down" on her, despite being several inches shorter. It was the one thing about him that was really amusing her, so she straightened her own posture a bit more to make herself appear taller. The fact that he was trying to seem so tall and manly merely made his statements less anger-inducing, so she mentally thanked him for doing so. It made it much easier to deal with.
"It was obvious you were not going to tell me easily. And it's called having a conversation, maybe you've heard of it?" she said coolly, her own tone implying that she thought he was rather wherrybrained. "Then again, you don't look smart enough to hold a conversation," she added with a rather airy tone, lifting her shoulders slightly in a dismissive shrug. Simple insults like "you're stupid" weren't nearly enough to set off Engrye. His implication that he'd been helping her when he really wasn't was probably a fluke on his part (and her part), merely because it brought back memories of anger. Engrye could easily shout "you're stupid" "no, you're stupid" all day and not feel even the slightest bit angry. That was just juvenille.
Engrye rolled her eyes, though her expression didn't change to a smile, still keeping the same, cold scowl. "Just because I'm not smiling doesn't mean I'm angry enough to slap you. Don't be so arrogant, you aren't tall enough," she said, taking another jab at his height, though she did narrow her eyes. What was he trying to pull?

Tylar smirked, though he had a feeling that he was losing his edge on Engrye. He needed to make her angry again, before she got too bored. Tylar considered for a moment or two what he would say next, though by now he was starting to get annoyed with this Candidate. Again, she and her pacing had interrupted his almost nap, and he needed to go to sleep. It'd been a long day, a very long one at that. Even longer than the one before, but tommorow would be even looonger..... Tylar caught himself mid yawn, jolted back to the real world as Engrye continued.
"I don't think anyone wants a freakishly tall Weyrwoman either!" Tylar shot back with an offended sniff, "Although, the height doesn't make a difference so much as the mindset. And since you were the one who didn't know where you were supposed to sleep, I honestly wouldn't be talking. Then again, you Holdfolk," considering the fact that she hadn't disagreed with that part of his earlier statement, he assumed that meant it was true, "Clearly aren't smart enough to realize that height makes no difference, except to humans." Tylar rolled his eyes in disgust. "New Candidates are so full of themselves..." he mumbled disgruntledly.
"A conversation?" Tylar questioned, "Nope, never heard of it, it's a new one..." he grinned lazily, "Maybe you could teach me one day when you finally get bored throwing around childish insults? I expected better of you than this." maybe his annoyance was finally showing through, the annoyance that she was controlling herself once more, though Tylar was attempting to keep a handle on it.
Tylar turned his head to examine the wall beside Engrye, with an air of indifference in his voice when he shot back an insult of his own, "You weren't smiling? I hadn't noticed. Maybe your facial expressions are all so similar that no one can tell the difference." Definitely not his best insult, but at the moment, he was almost swaying on his feet. Now that the thrill that came from watching the Candidate get angry was beginning to face, Tylar was simple tired of it all.
Perhaps if she pulled out another angry moment, he'd manage to snap back into it...? Probably not. "Look, if I tell you where you can find room assignments, will you go mind your own business? I was on kitchen duty today, and as much as exchanging insults was quite entertaining, I'm tired. I have a few hours of doing nothing left before I'm expected elsewhere, and I was sleeping when you got here." he waited impatiently for an answer. Tylar knew this wouldn't be the end of their rivalry, which was, in fact, the only reason he would let her go - Engrye was far too much fun to anger for him to just give up on her. It was a challenge to make her angry, and though she managed a few jibes of her own that got under his skin, Tylar didn't mind. It was worth it...

There, she’d found it. She’d found what made this boy angry, besides pointing out that he was neglectful to his firelizard. He didn’t like it when she mentioned that he was short. ”But I’m not freakishly tall, I’m... normal, she said, the airy tone back in her voice. Engrye wasn’t going to constantly use that to her advantage, but it was nice to see him angry for once. It made up for her earlier outburst. And now she had a trump card to use when she felt like it.
”Yes, clearly, I am unrightfully full of myself. You seem much more humble and down-to-earth than I do, you should teach me the ways of this strange place you call a ‘Wher’. That is how you pronounce it, right?,” she said dramatically, closing her eyes. When she opened them, they were back to a narrow glare, and she was even smirking a little. But just a little. ”While you’re teaching me the complicated ways of a Weyr, perhaps I can teach you how to hold a proper conversation and how to graciously help someone without belittling them.” That was what had started all this, wasn't it? That he was very rude about offering her help, and really, he hadn't exactly offered to help in the first place, just implied that she was stupid, which was what had gotten Engrye really angry. His other insults were typical, and his personality was a typical, arrogant boy who thought he was going to Impress a King. The red-haired girl could care less about him and what he thought of her.
Her facial expressions were similar, and Engrye had noticed this and stopped caring long ago. She had stopped being overly emotional long ago as well, and found her emotionless faces were perfectly fine, so she didn’t comment, she merely tossed her hair and shrugged slightly.
Finally, he was offering to tell her the room assignments. She rolled her eyes. ”That was why I was wandering around here in the first place,” she said, ”No need to tell me your life story. Just point me in the direction of the room listings and I’ll be on my way,” she said airily again, her sarcastic tone dropped for her other, lighter tone. Exchanging insults wasn’t something she liked to do, but it could sometimes provide interesting conversations that she wouldn’t otherwise have. Though, she really did much prefer sitting and reading alone.

Tylar rolled his eyes, "You're straight skin and bone!" he snapped back, momentary almost good mood forgotten as he glared fiercely at Egrye, before reigning himself in. He wasn't going to be angered, at least obviously by this Candidate, "Though I can't really blame you. Weyrs feed people real food, and wherever you came from clearly didn't." Tylar snorted, rolling his eyes again. It was starting to be a habit, and a bad one at that.
He'd been about to correct her pronunciation, until she said it correctly, and even then, it took several seconds to figure out that she was teasing him? That was what annoyed Tylar, and it took him several seconds effort to return to his calm self - even if it only appeared calm to him - and he took a few even breaths (in for a count of four, out for a count of four) before he replied scathingly, "And of course, you should learn yourself, first. Here I am trying to be of use to a new Candidate such as yourself, and you're being just as rude as always. And to think I was about to tell you where the room assignments were." The implications behind that last sentence were straight out lies - he was going to tell the girl where the room assignments were so he could advantage of what he could glean from the remaining candle marks before he had to go get started on some chores. Which meant, of course, that he had to get rid of her soon. Very soon, preferably, as Tylar could feel the slight tugging on his bond with Akal that told him that the flit was as tired as he was, unless he was only imagining it. Probably not. And the flit wasn't too happy either - Tylar was expecting an angry 'lizard to pop from between any second now...
"Ah, the tossing of the hair, girl speak for 'I hate your guts'?" Tylar questioned, clearly enjoying himself for a moment or two, "Wouldn't be all that surprising, considering how you overreact to everything under the sun." Tylar snorted, rolling his eyes, and in a most sluggish manner, as if trying to draw this out, he added "Still, I will say that you've managed to get your game face on. I can't wait to see what you look like on the Sands if you look this constipated trying not to get annoyed by my winning personality..." Again, another straight lie. Engrye looked as if she'd been carved from ice, for all that her facial expressions changed. Well, at least when she'd been angry she'd frowned. And this nothingness was starting to bug him, and even if he swore he was too tired to be competitive about this, he wasn't, so he couldn't resist one last jibe. Who could blame him, after all?
He gestured vaguely down the halls, "Go that way, and if you walk long enough, you'll get to the end of the hall. There'll be room assignments there." Well, there had been the last time he'd checked, which had been when he first arrived, which had been quite a while ago. Still, it didn't matter, and Tylar was perfectly fine with sending her off a wild wherry chase. It didn't matter to him whether or not she found it, as long as Engrye left to let Tylar go to sleep, something she looked like she'd do soon enough.
outofcoke;; I think we can wrap this thread up?

Was he insulting her for being... thin? She guessed that was where he was trying to go with it. "I've never said that Holds were better than Weyrs. If I believed that, why would I be here?" she asked, not really expecting much of an answer to her question. Really, Tylar's insults weren't doing much to her now, hard as he seemed to be trying. What a shame, she would have liked to have a debate with someone who actually had promise in their arguments, not random nitpicks at her height or weight or... well, that was kind of hypocritical of her, wasn't it?
A smile almost began to play across Engrye's lips as she watched Tylar try to figure out just what she had meant by her last statement. "Of course you were. How awful of me, to be keeping a man like you from his very, very busy schedule," she said with what sounded suspiciously like a tiny laugh. He obviously wanted to get rid of her, but Engrye could delay his "schedule" for as long as he wanted, seeing as Tylar didn't seem like the type to just walk away from the an arguement. Neither was Engrye of course, seeing how much she hated losing just about anything. When you got down to it, they were somewhat similar, though Engrye wouldn't admit this and she doubted Tylar would even notice it. People with similar personalities never got along very well in the first place.
However, his next statement did have her a bit perplexed, so she slightly tilted her head to the side. "No. Tossing your hair is simply girl speak for 'I am bored of this and don't feel like responding'," she chose not to comment on the overreacting part of his statement, still kicking herself for her outburst earlier, since now it seemed he was going to hold that over her head as much as she was going to his height over his head. The thought of that almost made her laugh again, just because of how ironic that thought was. "I assume I'd look just like this, wouldn't I? I don't think there is a worse facial expression than 'constipated'," she responded after pretending to think for a moment. She had to wonder if his "winning personality" statement was him being sarcastic, and if it was then he'd just insulted himself, which was good enough to earn a slight twitched smile from Engrye. She loved it when people did her job for her.
But their argument was over now, though she was certain the "war" was still on. "Thank you for your kindness," she said, her words dripping with sarcasm. As soon as her back was to him Engrye allowed herself to grin widely, raising her arm to give Tylar a quick wave of good-bye, and perhaps a challenge for the next time they met. He'd been an interesting person to talk to, even if his insults were rather lacking.
