"Alright men!" An indignant chirp. "...and woman. We have...an important job to do tonight! As you know...Nervak and Hoawn planted a tunnelsnake in the home furs last night." The girl rose from where she had been crouching in the dirt, her eyes narrowed and vicious and her arms folded in military fashion behind her back. "The result was..." Her face scrunched up in notable displeasure, and she paused in her pacing, stomping a booted foot on the ground, "...less than savory."
The girl--who looked more like a boy with her hair stuffed up in a simple cap and her tunic open to show a good portion of her flat chest--turned on her heel and faced the gathering of animals, putting her hands on her hips sternly. "We must retaliate, immediately! This insolence must not be tolerated! Two days in this place, and those two already feel comfortable enough to play such pranks..." The teenager growled, turning around, and her eyes narrowed further, "Bodie, Joskep....Moonii...you know what we must do."
Bodie gave a soft yip of agreement, his stub of a tail wagging wildly. He didn't understand a word that his playmate said...but it sure did sound fun! Not that anything his master did wasn't fun. A long tongue lolled out of his mouth as he wiggled, sitting down after a glance from Javyk. Joskep, at the dog's side, merely snorted, shaking his mane. Moonii, however, chirped merrily, rustling her wings eagerly. She knew exactly what was going down, the images of revenge flowing through Hers's head telling the whole story. And while little Moonii wasn't naturally mean, the incident with the tunnelsnake had not been fun.
"Alright then! We're decided!" A wide grin spread onto the teen's face and she looked up, staring at the afternoon sky. "Just a few hours to do the work we need to...alright. We can manage this!" A wide grin twisted onto her lips, and she slunk into the weyr, Bodie and Moonii on her heels. Joskep was left behind, but with a mouthful of hay...he didn't seem to mind so much.

R'ori was dozing off once again, though this time it was clinging to his pale green dragon's neck as she flew leisurely over the continent. They hadn't gone between, and were merely flying straight above the Holds and other various areas around Dalibor. It was a relaxing day, and it was good to get away from the Weyr every once in a while and just spend some time with Vediameth. Though, he had been spending a lot of time with her in their weyr lately, considering he finally got his weyr back from Shanza. Sharding firelizard. But he wasn't going to think about that.
Mine, wake up, Vediameth alerted hers, and the black-haired young man pryed his eyes open and blinked a few times, noticing that Vediameth was circling one of the Holds. Crescent Hold, maybe? It was either that or Western, he guessed, but R'ori was pretty sure it was Crescent. Why are you circling? he asked, his mind voice sounding very wide awake and curious for someone who had just woken up. I can sense someone down there. A Candidate, Vediameth said, her own mind voice sounding rather curious and somewhat confused. R'ori was equally confused, or maybe even moreso than the dragon. A Candidate? At a Hold? R'ori questioned, not sure what to make of that. Perhaps some Candidate had ventured too far from the Weyr or something? But no way, Crescent was way too far away, he'd been flying with Vediameth for a long time now and she hadn't mentioned anything about a Candidate before. It took R'ori an embarrassingly long time before he realized what Vediameth must be sensing. I... I think- There is a Candidate there that needs to be Searched, Vediameth cut off R'ori with amusement evident in her voice. Yeah, well I was going to say that... he muttered, frowning. At least it took them the same amount of time to figure it out. Vediameth began to swirl downwards in a rather elegant spiral, landing a little ways off from where Javyk was coaching her crew. Over there, Vediameth sent a picture of Javyk to R'ori, who was hopping off the Green. Yeah, yeah I saw hi... m...? Um? Her? Is.... That would be a girl, Mine. I knew that.R'ori started walking closer to Javyk, though he stopped awkwardly halfway. "Um... hi!" he started. Ah! Shards, Vediameth, how do I Search someone?! I already Searched her. That's not what I meant! "Um... so... hi! I'm... R'ori, rider of Green Vediameth from Dalibor Weyr," he wasn't sure if he should offer her a hand to shake or just come out with it, but he figured waiting for a handshake would just make him feel even more awkward and possibly make the potential-Candidate awkward, so he decided to just continue talking, "Um... hah... so, how would you like to be a Candidate at Dalibor Weyr! I'm, uh, you know, Searching you!" he said with what he hoped was a friendly smile, but probably came off a lot more nervous or awkward. Faranth, was he even allowed to do this? But Vediameth felt very, very strongly about this girl, and it would just be pointless to go back and get a "real" Searchrider. This was much easier![/blockquote]

Just as Javyk was about to go about her merry way, the sound of something large and in charge landing behind her made her pause. With Moonii on her shoulder--the white had asserted herself there when the dragon began to land--and Bodie growling like a mad dog beside her, she turned in semi-slow motion, staring coolly at the Green rider. The teenager stared at R'ori for a good long moment, her expression unreadable for the longest time.
"...uh-huh. Yah. You're not a rider." Abruptly--and rudely--she attempted to dash his hopes, staring with absolute disinterest at the man before sidling over quickly. As her grey fluff-ball of a dog snarled his way around the boy--smelling and barking at the same time--she leaned in to inspect him, her eyes narrowed and her hands on her hips, "You're a Weyrling. Sr. at best. No way would a rider stumble over words like that." She leaned in further, licking her lips, and suddenly reached out, poking him firmly in the gut.
"Suck it in, boy! Chest out. Shoulders back." With the authority of a headwoman she set to straightening his position, poking, jabbing, or yanking him into the proper stance. "Put your legs further apart, makes you look stronger! And offer a hand when you're introducing yourself..and smile for goodness sake! Not that nervous thing." She reached out and stuck her thumbs in the boy's mouth as she spoke, forcing him into a smile before tucking a finger beneath his chin, lifting it slightly. "Theeere you go. Much better."
A grin popped back onto her face and she reached up to mess with his hair slightly, giving a pleased nod after it looked to be proper. "Ooh. You're quite the looker when you're not trying to hide behind your own skin! R'ori, right? Good name. Beautiful dragon! Hi, Vediameth!" With a spastic wave at the dragon she turned again to R'ori, falling into a quick bow. "My name's Javyk. The flit is Moonii, the angry fluffball is Bodie, and the runner ignoring us all is Joskep. Pleasure to meet you." Javyk reached out, shaking the boy's hand eagerly, and then leaned back a bit, her hands proudly on her hips. "Now that everything's been settled, what do you really want?"

R’ori could do nothing but stare blankly at the girl as she began to lecture him, not sure if he should feel angry, embarrassed, or some mix of both. Vediameth had been rather confused by this girl at first, but quickly became quite amused with her antics and how they were making her poor rider feel. It really was just his luck that he’d get the one Candidate that would have the guts to actually lecture a rider that was attempting to Search her. It was pretty funny, and R’ori was very grateful that there was no one else around to see this. Well, this certainly dashed his hopes of becoming an amazing Searchrider.
The fact that she had accurately guessed he was a Senior Weyrling (at best, she said) and immediately did as he was told when she poked his chest. R’ori wasn’t exactly the most commanding or the most easily pushed over, but shards, this girl was weird! Weird and she just had that sort of commanding aura about her that made R’ori want to listen. Well, that and the fact that he was being lectured by a sharding potential-Candidate. It was embarrassing!
He continued staring blankly at her after she was finished… er, fixing him, and was a complete loss of what to say. ”I… um…” he still stuttered, but remembered her pervious words and straightened up, returning her vigorous handshake. ”Right… it’s a pleasure to meet you as well, Javyk. I come from Dalibor Weyr and… no, I’m not a Rider, but Vediameth was so sure of your potential to become a Candidate that she made me stop to Search you,” he said, sounding more confident, though he was still blushing quite a bit and was attempting to get over his embarrassment.
I like her. This was the right thing to do, Vediameth mused, rather happy that R'ori was fixing the flaws Javyk pointed out, rather than being stubborn with her. ”Vediameth likes you a lot…” he muttered, shooting a glare at the dragon, “But, um, do you want to come back to the Weyr with me? It’s really your choice, in the end. I’m… not entirely sure if I could have Vediameth take your… friends with, but if you chose to come with me someone with a larger dragon will come get them, so you won’t have to leave them behind,” he explained. She certainly did have an entourage with her, and she was also quite the eccentric girl. Shards, well at least if he were ever to become a Searchrider this would be a great learning experience he could look back on and laugh at. Not that he was going to laugh at it any time soon, though….[/blockquote]

"Dalibor Weyr, hm?" The girl clucked her tongue absently, an arm wrapping around her waist as she rested her chin in one hand, blinking, "Well....I did have my sights set on Harper Hall. See, I'm a hall-hopper! And halls are my thing." She shifted and began to circle, looking the blackette over once more, as though assessing him. "But....it isn't like I'll stay there any longer than I have the other places." With a cheerful grin, she stopped in front of R'ori, offering a hand, "I suppose a trip to a weyr wouldn't hurt me! New experiences are always the best kind."
With a laugh, she dropped down to the ground, enveloping her blue fluff-ball into a hug. "Alright Bodie. You know the game, right? You and Joskep wait here for me. There'll be someone to scoop you two up and bring you to me. You understand?" The canine, tongue lolled up and tail-less bum wagging wildly as her hands ruffled his flopped over years, gave a dog-like grin and barked. She grinned and rose, turning again to R'ori as the dog hopped up onto his backfeet, his front on her hips as though he were trying to get her to dance. Javyk ran a hand over the dog's nose then shoved him down, a tilt of the head and a sharp whistle sending him to stand by the runner. "I don't go dragonback often, but I made sure to train them to deal with it." She chirped, cocking her head to the side, "So they'll wait. Just tell the rider who picks them up to mention my name and give two sharp short whistles and they'll come nice and easy. Just don't try to pick Bo up--he likes to think he can climb his way anywhere and humans are good for stepping stools but not as pack mules. Joskep won't care. He's tolerant."
Happy to ramble, she stopped herself only out of boredom, already skipping over to investigate Vediameth. "So...she thinks I could be a Candidate, huh?" She mused quietly, blinking as she tilted her head, "Well, I hope I won't let her down...but I'm afraid its my fate to never finish the whole game." With a laugh she spun, glancing to R'ori as Moonii watched curiously, her eyes whirling a soft blue, "So! Let's get going, shall we? You really need to assert yourself when you're ready to go. Sitting around trying to convince is no way to show the confidence you have."

Well, it seemed like this girl was used to this. A hall-hopper? Jeez, she really was an interesting one. She also talked a lot, so much that R'ori was awestruck and not sure what to say. Never thought I'd see the day someone shocked you into silence, Vediameth mused, though she didn't feel the need to bring up the first time that F'let had revealed himself to be a boy and the few times they'd kissed. R'ori didn't need that added... embarrassment. Shut up, he said anyway, resisting the urge to pout. R'ori nodded. "I'll let them know. You seem very... experienced with this," he commented with a slightly embarrassed smile. She was more experienced with being Searched than he was! And she'd never even been Searched before! Vediameth was still highly, highly amused at this girl and was growing even happier the more the girl spoke. She took an immediate liking to the girl, though perhaps those were just her Searchdragon instincts. Or you just enjoy watching me suffer, the Weyrling shot to his dragon with a slight scowl, though he did manage to keep a smile on his face and look more confident and sure of himself due to the girl's insistance earlier. Shards, what a handful! At least she'd trained her animals well, and the thing the dog had done had been pretty cute, but he wasn't going to give her the satisfaction of knowing that. "I'll show you confidence," he finally muttered under his breath and walked over to Javyk with a smile. "Well... I don't think it's right to force someone to go if they don't want to," he said with a shrug, helping the girl up on to Vediameth. She wasn't a large Green, but she wasn't small either. The fact that she'd said it was her fate to "never finish the whole game" was kind of sad to him, but he didn't comment on that because she seemed rather happy and he didn't want to earn another lecture from her. When Javyk was safely on Vediameth, the Green jumped up into the air and went between, heading to Dalibor Weyr. ooc: There, all Searched. xD[/blockquote]
