Hide and Seek
"Oompf!"
There was a moan sound where the other sound had occurred. Ridan had tripped over another stick again. He liked the night, but with the cloud constantly coming out and hiding behind the clouds, it was not helping him. When the moon was out from behind the clouds, he could see nearly clearly what was in front of him. But, when the moon was behind the clouds like right now, it only ended with him tripping and falling over logs, sticks, or jumping back from some imaginary creature. Instead of getting back up again, he sat up and crossed his legs, sighing to himself. Something moved next to him. He could see that clearly. He reached up and laid a hand on whatever it had been. "Don`t worry. We will get there eventually. You know we will," he said to the creature.
The moon came out again and revealed a glossy hide. It was Wher. But it was not just any Wher, it was a Gold! She leaned her head down and gently caressed herself against his head. Trust Mine, she said affectionately, Ridan understanding what she meant. He loved Risk with every fiber inside of himself. Ever since the day they had been bound to one another, Ridan never regretted Impressing her. Sure, there had been trials, but their love was strong. He chuckled and wrapped his arms around her large neck. He laid his head against her neck, feeling every muscle inside her. She was magnificent and amazing. She was his! Risk give Mine lift? she asked.
Ridan was surprised to hear her ask. She rarely let him on her back, her being a proud Queen of her kind. But maybe she was sensing his embarrassment of constantly tripping and falling. And when she offered, it was better not to declined. He smiled at her and nodded in her neck. "Thank you, Risk. You are more than amazing. You are extraordinary," he said, getting up and climbing on her back. Once he was situated on her back, she began to move forward. She could see much better than him at night. He could trust her with his life. He sent out feelings of love and affection for her. He never wanted to leave her. She would be there forever. He would see to it.

This continent is stupid.
You're stupid. Hey! That was mean.Sorry Miiiiinnneee~~ The Black silently swooped around in the sky, enjoying himself immensely. Even the blond on his back felt a little free-spirited and out of his usual foul mood for once. M'kiru liked flying. Sometimes he and Thauth would take into the sky just to get away from the other idiot Renegades. He liked some of them (not that he would ever admit it to anyone, ever) but a few of them drove him mad. M'kiru didn't want to think about them now though, he just wanted to enjoy being with his deranged dragon. Thauth flew for a while, getting quite far from their camp, but it was just a quick between away, so it didn't really matter how far they went. After an hour or so, Thauth "awoke" from his dreamy, flight-induced high and spoke. I smell something. His mindvoice had an evil tone to it, sounding mischevious. This tone, as well as what Thauth had said, caught M'kiru's attention and woke him as well. Really? Tell me, you can't just tease me like that, the equally mischevious M'kiru answered. A Gold Wher and Hers. A Gold? This caught M'kiru's attention even more and he leaned forward. Thauth caught His' unspoken message and began to land. It didn't take long for Thauth to land, and he landed right in front of Ridan and Risk. Well, not right in front and actually more than a few feet away, but it was the same thing really. M'kiru dismounted, feeling wide awake even though it was the dead of night. He could also see rather well in the dark, and managed to stride forward trying to look as menacing as possible. Thauth had said this guy was all alone, which was absolutely perfect for them. "Well, what's this?" he said when he'd gotten close enough to Ridan that the other male would be able to hear him, "Don't you know you're in Renegade territory?" He actually wasn't, and the current Renegade camp was actually quite a few miles away, but this guy didn't know that. Besides, it sounded good. And it would probably scare this poor wanderer (and his Gold wher, what was up with that?) half to death. M'kiru crossed his arms in a way he hoped would look threatening, though he could hear Thauth's snickers in the back of his mind, letting him know that he probably looked like an effeminate idiot. ... whatever, it's not like they were going to let this guy escape alive.[/blockquote]

Ridan and Risk had been walking for a bit. Ridan was almost to the point of a lull on his Wher`s back. Usually Risk let him stay for however long he wanted to on her back once she allowed it. He enjoyed it, the cool air, the moon peaking in and out every so often, the sound of his Wher rumbling whenever she was content. This was enjoyable. Back in their old Weyr, they never got this peace and quietness. Always it was "Ridan, do this now," or "Ridan, I want you to this today." His previous Sr. Wherhandler had never liked him since the day that Risk became his. But how could he give up such a beautiful and magnificent creature? She may not be an an actual dragon, but she was enough dragon for him. Risk picked up on these feelings and let out a chirp of happiness, her eyes swirling in greens and blues to show her love back to her Mine.
Suddenly, she stop. The content rumble turned into something more tense. A growl was let loose from her mouth, teeth showing slightly. What had spooked her? "Are you okay, Risk?" he whispered to her, at which another growl was let loose. There was a sound in the distance, as if something had landed several feet away. Her muscle tensed as he claws dug into the earth. Mine, off, she said quickly, not giving him much time to slid off her back. The small, stubby wings were brought tightly closer to her body. As if she was preparing to defend something off. "Risk," he said quietly to her again.
Then there was that voice. And it did not sound friendly. Ridan turned his head and noticed the silhouette figure for the first time that was in front of them. Ridan`s eyes widened with surprise at the man`s voice and words. Renegade? He had heard about them, but he did not actually think that he would meet them. He thought they would be out during the day when he and Risk slept, and sleeping at night when he and Risk travelled. This was starting to turn into an unlucky trip. Maybe he should have just had his friend help him get Risk to just Dalibor. But, no, he and Risk wanted to travel some and see the country for what it was worth. Maybe he could talk his way out with this man. Then again, he could not tell if the man was bigger than him or not. But if anyone threatened his Wher, he would surely fight them about it. "We`re sorry. We were just wandering around and got a little lost on our way to Dalibor. We can leave here now if you let us," he said, trying to convince the man to let them go.

M'kiru laughed coldly, adding to his menacing demeanor by effeminately flipping a lock of his pale hair off his shoulder. He walked closer, close enough that he could see Ridan fully, and the other man could probably see him now too. M'kiru had a habit of dressing in dark colors, like purple, though, so maybe he blended into the darkness! He heard some soft snickering in the back of his mind and frowned. You be quiet, he snapped, pouting visibly, ruining his image in front of this stupid wherhandler, You're making me ruin my image in front of this stupid wherhandler! Mine, you don't need ME to ruin your image, you do that just fine on your own~~ Thauth taunted with a laugh, lightly stepping closer to Ridan and Risk as His did. The blond coughed once, trying to walk off the "I'm a crazy talking to voices in my head" (which, in itself, was a stupid thought, since it was obvious that he was a Dragonrider). "Hmph, sorry, are you? Well... that's just not good enough!" he smirked, crossing his arms in front of his chest and wagging his finger in a childish motion. "Dalibor is our enemy! We don't appreciate travelers like you, especially if you come from Dalibor!" he was being repetitive in an attempt to seem intimidating, but all it really did was make him look rather childish. But not for long, as soon his expression narrowed into a smirk and he glanced from Risk to Thauth, thoughts churning. "I mean... there's a rule against dragons fighting dragons, right? It's taboo. Lame," he started, stepping a little closer to Ridan, though far enough that he could dart back and hide under Thauth's protection if he had to. His smirk widdened, and he glanced at Risk again. "But there's no rule against dragons fighting whers, right?" There very well could be a taboo about that (and there probably was, but M'kiru was the king of BSing stuff). Besides, no one would be around to see if Thauth were to have a little snack. The Black was just as deranged, if not more, than His, so naturally he wouldn't be the one to object to it. Feeling daring, M'kiru stepped even closer to Ridan, challenging the other man with a cocky smirk, looking like he was thoroughly enjoying himself. ooc: I'm not expecting them to actually fight. xD;;;[/blockquote]

Ridan was than afraid at the moment. After all, when you are traveling and you suddenly just run into a renegade, that was not the best possible outcome. He continued to stare at the silhouette until the person came closer. He could see the man much clearer in the night. He had blonde hair, that was the first thing that he noticed about the man. Ridan blinked. But the man went off again about Dalibor being their enemy and how sorry was not enough. Ridan`s mind went as fast as he could think. How could they get out of here? The best thing he could think of was grabbing onto Risk`s back and hanging on tightly. When she wanted to, she could be a very fast runner. Usually that was only in the cases of Runs, but maybe for a situation like this she would reconsider. But Ridan did not have long to stay on that thought. The man in front of him smirked, devilishly, and it worried him about what the man was thinking.
Sure enough, it was something Ridan feared. But Risk next to him growled in her throat. He could feel her claws flexing on the ground, as if thinking about the consideration of attacking a Black. That Black was not very large. She believed she could take him on. Her hide was thicker and stronger than his. She could win. Risk, no! Ridan said strongly to his Wher. Even though she was very angry right now, in times like this Ridan had to be strong for her. Ridan looked up at the man before him and finally stood up. When it came to threatening his Wher, Ridan was not one to back down. "Don`t you dare touch her. I swear, if you do, you will regret it," he said. Just like M`kiru BSing, Ridan was somewhat BSing. He knew there would be nothing he could do to the man except lunge at him and try to choke him, but he wanted to prove that threatening his Wher was not a good idea.

M'kiru's smirk widdened at Ridan's threat and he began to laugh. He began to laugh a lot, and it sounded more like a cackle. "What are you and your shiny not-dragon gonna do? Glare at me to death?" he cackled louder, almost doubling over with crazy laughter. Thauth sent his disapproval of this act, it wasn't very dignified. He looked ridiculous! Oh shut up already, you do stupid things all the time, let me laugh at this loser for a while, M'kiru snapped at the Black, who flapped his wings and sent a gust of wind that almost knocked the blond over in response. But if anything, it could look like Thauth was trying to intimidate Ridan and Risk, so he was cool with it.
Until the Black flapped a few more times and rose up into the air, circling above them. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING, YOU STUPID BEAST?!" he shook his fist at the Black, who circled tauntingly above them. If M'kiru wasn't so inept at mind-speak (was that even possible?) he probably would have shouted it in his mind to make it look like he'd told his dragon to do that, but now it was just plainly obvious that he could not control Thauth very well at all. And he'd momentarily forgotten about the Goldhandler.
When it became obvious that Thauth (who was now the one laughing in their mind, it seemed he didn't like it when M'kiru was laughing and he wasn't, stupid dragon) wasn't going to come down, he turned back to Ridan, suddenly remembering the other man. "Uh...." he started awkwardly, trying to regain his demeanor from earlier, "Well, yeah, uh, whatever. See, look! Thauth can fly. Your stupid wher can't fly like that. Everyone knows dragons are better, aren't they?! You should just give up and go starve in the desert!" he rambled. Haha mine, you don't know what to saaayyy! You don't know what to saaaayyy~~! Thauth taunted, swooping in a little lower before flying back up again. This was fun. Who needed to torture another person when he could make His look like an idiot? "Besides... if it came to physical strength, I'd win," he said on a complete impulse and then regretted it because he was actually quite awful with physical brawls. Stupid stupid stupid! Oh well, he had a knife hidden somewhere, if Ridan decided to take him up on his offer then he could just pull that out and stab the other man in the back. ... now he just had to remember where it was.[/blockquote]

When Thauth moved to fly in the air, Risk moved forward and past M`kiru, the growl in her throat becoming very loud. She roared at the Black, thinking that his movement was an aggressive movement made to harm her and her Mine. She jumped at the Black, rising several feet in the air, before landing on the ground with a thud. She roared several times at the Black, angry that she had missed her chance to attack the Black. She did not care about those rules. She was not beholden to any Weyr at the moment, even though they were making their way to Dalibor. Risk turned her head. Mine, now! she shouted in his mind.
Ridan ignored M`kiru`s words about dragons flying and Whers not. He did not care. Whers could glide, somewhat. But, at that moment, it was not a Wher that was gliding through the air. It was Ridan. While M`kiru had been distracted by his dragon leaving him behind, Ridan had tackled the man. Ridan was a GOLDhandler, not some lower rank handler. He knew the strength he had in him. Just having Risk nearby gave him the strength he needed. Not to mention the few times he had to fight and defend himself at his old Weyr. Yeah, he would never reveal those stories. Getting into fights was not a good look for a Goldhandler. But, then again, he had gotten into these fights with another Bronzehandler, so it went both way for both of them. But, right now, Ridan`s eyes were set dead on with M`kiru`s. "My Wher is not stupid!" he shouted, pinning M`kiru to the ground, but struggling with the other man`s strength.

The blond had started to panic a bit as Risk began to run towards him, but then he saw it was Risk running PAST him and towards Thauth taking off and stopped worrying so much. The Black seemed to find her roars incredibly amusing and bugled a few times in response, as though trying to have a pleasant dragon conversation.
M'kiru had been meaning to start saying something again (sometimes he really did talk just to hear his own voice) when Ridan had lunged at him, knocking him painfully to the ground, yelling something about how his wher was stupid. But M'ikru didn't have a wher! Was this guy dumb or something? He said HIS wher isn't stupid, I think that knock to your head gave you some memory issues, Thauth commented, swirling in circles above, completely ignoring the Gold wher below. She was no threat to him, but he'd swoop down and drag M'kiru away if it looked like His was going to die, because if His died then that would be bad. So she'd just better not go hurt His, and that was Thauth's reasoning as he leisurely flew in circles above them. It took M'kiru a moment to stop his head from spinning and when he did he found himself staring up into Ridan's eyes. Luckily, he wasn't the perverted type, so his mind did NOT go down the gutter, but instead went into panic mode. He was okay-ish in terms of strength, but once down he was probably down for the count. "I don't even care! Get off already, it's not like I'm your girlfriend or something," that last part was kind of one of those "my brain says things without telling me" moments and he immediately regretted it. Rather than continuing the waste his strength he fell limp, glaring up at the other with pure rage and a bit of misplaced embarrassment. Thauth was laughing, of course. Typical. Did he ever stop?! Because if he didn't, soon M'kiru was going to go insane.[/blockquote]

Risk turned to make a step toward Ridan, ready to help her Mine. But, without looking up, Ridan shouted at her. "Risk, stay! You are not getting involved in this!" he shouted at her. Risk growled, taking another step, not wanting to listen. "Risk! Stop!" Ridan shouted again, still staring at M`kiru`s eyes. With what little strength he had, he pushed it mentally on Risk, causing the Gold to stop in her tracks about 15 feet away from the men. She would not push her Mine again, not at this moment. He seemed safe, fine at the moment. And as long as he was okay, she could let him handle everything. But she looked up, watching Thauth, a slightly growl coming from her maw again as she kept an eye on him. He may be a Black dragon, but she was a GOLD Wher. She had the strength behind her to put enough of a dent into Thauth if she wanted to.
"Girlfriend? Really? Look how easy you went down! You must be a girl," Ridan said, keeping the blonde pinned. It was a shame, to be honest. Now that he was face to face with the renegade, too bad the man was worried about his own agenda. The man would have made for a good friend, maybe some to... Nah, Ridan was not going to allow himself to think that. He was a Renegade, for Faranth`s sake! They were enemies! But Ridan continued to stare into M`kiru`s eyes, putting all his strength he had that he held as a Goldhandler.

This guy wasn't looking away, and the longer M'kiru tried to stare into his eyes the longer he wanted to look away. Not because he was embarrassed or anything, but just because he felt awkward and... well, why should he grace this guy with eye-contact anyway! He mentally started cursing as the Gold wher began to come close though, glancing around Ridan to spy Thauth still circling above. He'd gone quiet, though M'kiru knew he was still watching them. He wasn't scared of the Gold... and certainly Thauth wasn't either, though he did sense some odd form of hesitation from the Black. Was he circling because he was completely insane or because he was afraid of the Gold wher? Thauth was the smallest of dragons (and he wasn't very big for his color in the first place) and Risk was the biggest of whers. Okay, maybe it wouldn't be as easy a fight as he figured... but at least he could fly and she couldn't! Haha.
At the comment M'kiru regretted his stupid statement even more than before, he'd actually kind of hoped that Ridan wouldn't be a T'el type and freak out like the normal person would in this kind of situation. The blond felt his face grow hot, and if it was from embarrassment or anger not even he could say. "Hmph. You tackled me when I was TALKING. That's so cowardly, of course I went down easily!" he snapped back, trying to move one of his arms to poke Ridan in the chest and failing due to it being held down. He felt an odd wave of... regret, maybe? as he stared up at the other man. D'ror would never let a Wherhanlder join the Renegad- wait, why was he even considering that?!
"Now how about you get off me and we pretend this never happened?" he hissed, trying to sound tough and narrowing his eyes back into his angry expression rather than looking like a deer caught in the headlights. Thauth snickered, but was focusing a lot more on the Gold wher below than on M'kiru's ridiculous situation. The Black seemed a little afraid of her, after seeing how she'd gone to attack His and how sharding high she could jump. If he hadn't been in a similar situation, M'kiru probably would have poked fun at that. Well, at least the two of them could finally bond over something.

"Cowardly? Cowardly?" Ridan said, repeating the words. "You are a coward. You snuck up on us purposely when we were not expecting it. You are a coward. If you weren`t so cu-" Ridan stopped his words there, his eyes widening and his face screwing up in an embarrassed look. That was the only thing about him when he got angry. If he did not keep himself in check or even had Risk keeping her eye on him, he would let feelings control him instead of rational reason. And he was suppose to the the calmer half between him and Risk. And right now it was the other way around, but Ridan figured that was Risk trying to hold back her fury that she would have unleashed on M`kiru and his Black dragon. Ridan looked down at M`kiru, the moonlight reflecting off his pink face, and moved off the BlackRider. She sat down to the side of the man, not but a few inches still, not believing the words that almost came out of his mouth. Well, it had been a while since he last had a companion to share a bed with. It would be only natural that his mind would go there after thinking the man was, well, good looking and then lunging at the man really had not help.
"Just go," Ridan said, almost muttering the words. "I am not looking for a fight and do not feel like having your dragon and my Wher leaving with scars and wounds from a fight," he added, trying not to look at the DragonRider. Oh, Ridan, what have you gotten yourself into, the Goldhandler thought to himself. First you attack the man and now you are letting him go. You are sad and crazy. Risk moved past M`kiru and took a spot in the forest still several feet away from the men, picking up on her Mine`s wish for non-violent contact. She was still tense, ready again for another few lunges if it came down to it. But for now, as long as she and Hers was no threatened, she would be fine for the time being. Let them try to hurt her Mine. They would feel the wrath of a Wher. She was definitely not afraid to go after a dragon.

Ridan's words were like a slap in the face. He wasn't a coward! He wasn't! Thauth still wasn't saying anything, not even in his own defense. They weren't the right ones here, if anyone here was right it was probably Ridan. They had been the ones to start the fight and now they were on the losing end. M'kiru's eyes were wide as he watched Ridan grow embarrassed and climb off him, sitting off to the side. ... wait, hadn't he said something... what had he been about to say? Cu... cu....... oh. It finally hit the blond as to what Ridan had almost slipped out and the tanned renegade sat up, looking in the other direction, faintly embarrassed.
M'kiru knew he'd gone too far, picking a fight with some random person that hadn't done anything to him. He was now embarrassed for a completely different reason, and even Thauth must have realized they'd done something wrong. That was probably why the Black wasn't talking to him anymore. But hey, it'd been Thauth who had pointed out the Wher! So M'kiru had taken it a bit too far, so what?! He was going to get into a fight with a sharding Gold wher! He didn't make to move as Ridan spoke, and suddenly felt the man's prescense disappear from beside him.
Finally, M'kiru turned back around to see that Ridan hadn't fully left, and had only moved a little farther away. The blond stood up, unsure as to what he should do. The right thing would be... it would be to appologize. But M'kiru had far too much pride to do that. He hesitantly stepped a little closer but stopped, wondering why he hadn't just stalked off in a huff. "I... it's just... been a long time since I had contact with anyone but the renegades," he wasn't sure why he was explaining himself to this Goldhandler, of all people, "I know it doesn't mean anything, but whatever. I'm..." he paused, why the sharding shells was he doing this!? "Sorry. I guess. It doesn't matter," he seemed to change his mind to right things at the last minute (though he did grind out the appology). What was he hoping for?! Even if he wanted to, there was no way he could form a friendship with a Goldhandler of Dalibor Weyr.

Ridan looked up at M`kiru as the man approached him. He wondered what the BlackRider was going to do. Leap on him like he had done and try to choke him? Punch him in the face? Spit on him even? But, instead of expecting the worse, the man was actually apologizing. Ridan blinked, surprised that the BlackRider was apologizing. Sure, the BlackRider had been in the wrong, but that was what had been expected of him. If Ridan had been a Rider and Rogue, he would be tough and ready to show off whatever power he held. After all, being a Rider (or even a Handler) gave you some power over the most normal of people, except for Masters and Lord Holders. They were the only exception to the rule.
And Ridan was still reeling over the fact that he had almost called the man cute. And, in this light, and the man apologizing with some kind of genuine meaning, the man looked even more better when he was not sneering, laughing evilly, or even trying to scare others. M`kiru was, possibly, done inside a normal person. The life style he had chosen just did not seem appropriate. But Ridan was not going to try to convince M`kriu to join Dalibor. That was the BlackRider`s decision. Ridan was not going to that.
"Thanks, but you do not have to do that. Apologize, I mean. Just do what you feel comfortable with. Go with your gut feeling." But Ridan`s gut feeling was telling him to kiss the BlackRider for looking so handsome, for even giving Ridan a chance to see this part of M`kiru. Ridan casted his eyes to the side so he would stop staring. "I understand what you mean. I have been around the same group of people for far too long that a change of scenery and people is good. Does not matter the type of company so long as it is different," he added, trying to keep his eyes from staring and his feelings from making him get up to kiss the man.

M'kiru felt stupid. He felt wherry-brained. He felt... shards, he didn't know, he just felt like an idiot! Why was he even doing this? He should have walked away when he had the chance, but now he just didn't want to. He was a Renegade and he was evil, he tortured and killed for fun! He didn't have a soft side. That part of him (if it had ever even existed) was swallowed up by Thauth when he Impressed. However, this man was bringing some weird feelings out of him. Usually people ran or screamed when M'kiru approached them, laughing with ill intent, but this guy did neither, and even managed to pin him down.
Dalibor was not an option and it would never be an option. He would rather kill himself than join Dalibor, and even if he wanted to join there was no way Thauth would let him. The Black would probably drag himself between before having to become part of an organized society, and really, M'kiru would go with him. Renegade life suited them. It sure didn't suit the Gold Wherhandler, though, not that M'kiru was ever going to ask. A Wher in the Renegades? That was just stupid.
At Ridan's response he clenched his fists and kept looking at the ground, refusing to make eye-contact, because then that would mean facing up to the fact that he actually appologized to someone. "I am going with my.... feelings," he ground out, trying to justify his actions with the fact the he would never see this man again. If either of them were going to make a move towards each other, it wasn't going to be the proud M'kiru, especially since D'ror would probably kill him for showing any sort of affection or feelings towards a human not in the Renegades. But that wasn't fair, he'd seen D'ror kiss people like T'el... surely M'kiru was allowed to- not that he'd ever do anything like that, ever!
"I guess. Whatever. Are we done here?" he snapped, crossing his arms and finally looking up.

Ridan looked back up at M`kiru when the man snapped at him. The man did not sound happy. Well, then, when had M`kiru sounded happy around Ridan during the time they had run into each other. No, Ridan had seen M`kiru`s cruel and some emotion side. And now the man was playing it up like nothing had happened, that running into each other had been a fluke. Okay, it had been a fluke, but Ridan felt something different with this meeting. What was possibly meant to be a scare tactic had ended with Ridan viewing this man in a different light from the rumors that he heard about the Renegades. Well, M`kiru was just one Renegade, so not every Renegade could be easily trusted if there was any level of trust there. But as Ridan looked at the man, the Handler realized that M`kiru was trying to end this meeting as soon as they could. Ridan did not want it to end, especially now that Risk was laying down and the black dragon was not appearing to be menacing as early. Rida stood up slowly so M`kiru would know that Ridan was not going jump and tackle him again. After all, that was literally what had happened the last time Ridan stood up.
The Handler took a shaky step toward the Rider. Ridan`s eyes were focusing now that the moon was moving out and away from a few clouds. But there were more clouds heading toward the moon. Ridan was the moon, M`kiru was the clouds. There meeting had not been predicted and had happened by chance. Ridan then quickly moved toward M`kiru, cocked his head to the side, and kissed the BlackRider. All the feelings that Ridan had been fighting since he had seen M`kiru`s soft side were all pushed into that kiss. Ridan`s hands, just as shaky as that first step, reached up to place it on the Rider`s shoulder as he kissed the man. There was no way to convince the Rider to join Dalibor, and they would be know way that Ridan would join the Renegades. But, for just this one night could they not enjoy what they felt between each other, even if Ridan was the only one feeling some sort of feelings for this other man. Ridan pulled away slightly, but the tips of the skin on his lips still hovering over the man`s lips. "I promise to not tell Dalibor about this or about you. You can say whatever you like about me. But, please, give me, if not us, this one night?" he asked the Rider.

M'kiru was unsure about how he felt about this Goldhandler. He'd first wanted to torture the man a bit, then he'd been so shocked by the man's guts in actually tackling him down to the ground that he appologized and now he just wanted to end their stupid meeting and fly away on Thauth. But the dragon wasn't landing or even talking to him, merely flying in circles overhead. Nearly being beaten by a Gold wher had really pissed him off, and M'kiru knew it wasn't his own fault, but he also knew that Thauth wasn't going to say anything for a while. Stupid dragon, leaving him stranded here to deal with this guy on his own.
Ridan standing shook M'kiru out of trying to sort his confused thoughts around, and even though the man was slow at getting up M'kiru still tensed, ready to fight if the other man wanted to. But he seemed rather delicate and calm in his movements, and it unnerved the blond, as he was getting rather close. Too close. He was invading M'kiru's personal space, but the Blackrider wasn't making to move away or even look away, and allowed the other man to... kiss him, not reacting until Ridan moved away and spoke. He was a bright, bright red and was rather glad that it was dark out, so perhaps his embarrassing blush wasn't going to be seen by... Ridan. Which was unlikely, because their faces were so... sharding... close!
"I... I.... but... why... why would you," he stuttered, not knowing what to say, "But... I... no! No I don't... understand..." he continued, sounding rather incoherant. He lightly put his hands against Ridan's chest in a half-hearted attempt to push him away, then his expression grew serious and his eyes narrowed. "I tried to kill and torture you. My dragon tried to kill your wher. What... why would you even consider that as... motivation to...." he didn't want to even say the word "kiss" because it would make his words sound silly, but it was pretty easily implied, or so he figured. His tone was flat and serious, though near the end it kind of trailed off and broke into a more desperate tone. He didn't know what to feel about this guy, but he'd felt something when they kissed and he couldn't just deny that. Shard it all.

"Motivation?" Ridan said, whispering. He looked up in the man`s face, up into the man`s eyes. In this moonlight, now that he sight was getting better, he could see patches of red in the man`s face. He knew this kiss would catch the Rider off guard. Kissing him had caught Ridan off guard as well. Ridan had not expected to follow through on his thoughts, emotions, and primal feelings. And he had! He, Ridan, Handler of Gold Risk, a man raised to think things through clearly and rationally, looking out for the good of Whers and Handlers alike. But, he job also included the ability to work with Dragonriders. Even though most Riders look down on Whers, calling them useless creatures, Ridan still learned to work with them to improve relationships. But Ridan was not calling this a business relationship with M`kiru. No, he did not know what to call it. A chance meeting. A possible one night stand? He was not sure. And despite M`kiru trying to push him away, Ridan stood his ground. His lips continued to hover over the BlackRider`s mouth, trying to prevent them from getting closer, which might prove too difficult in the end.
"You felt it too. When i first tackled you, you felt it. Why else did you apologize to me. I know you would not normally do that, but with me you did. So, you obviously felt something. And I know you felt something more in that kiss" Ridan replied, still whispering. He was trying his hardest not to let the GoldHandler side of him get the best of him. Ridan had another side to him he rarely let on, the side that came once risk had reached maturity. This side was where he tried to seduce others into his bed, something Risk had shown and helped him with after her first Run. Ever since that first time, Ridan tried not to call on that ability, trying to keep Risk in control. But, this was genuinely him. He was openly kissing and hinting things without Risk`s help. Maybe Risk was refusing to help him because this was a Renegade Rider, but Ridan did not care. He leaned in again, kissing M`kiru once more, his hand still on the man`s shoulder. This time, it was Ridan`s turn to plea. "Please, I told you. I won`t tell anyone about you, and you can say whatever you want about me. You can tell the other Renegades that you scared us senseless so to improve your status. Just..." and his kissed M`kiru again, except this time he tried to make it a deep kiss.

This Ridan guy... he wasn't like T'el, who was pretty much the only person who'd ever expressed any sort of interest in him outside of dragon flights. Not that Thauth had ever won a flight anyway, not that he hadn't tried... he was just a small Black and M'kiru was deemed as unpleasant by most of the riders, so it didn't matter. So M'kiru found himself comparing Ridan to T'el and... by comparision with the man who'd come very close to forcing M'kiru to consent on many occassions, this was... kind of... well, it was just nice for someone to actually be... gentle, he guessed. Not that M'kiru cared about those girly things, because he didn't. Life was just a game that he didn't care about anymore. He didn't care. That's what he told himself repeatedly.
"Shard it...." he muttered, trying to downcast his eyes and stop making eye-contact, but he found he couldn't. He found himself wanting to stay with Ridan, though he didn't find himself resent his choice of lifestyle. He hated the Weyr and he hated everyone in it. He hated being controlled and he hated structure and he'd happily burn them all with Thauth if he'd been given the chance. But out here with Ridan it didn't seem like any of that mattered anymore. Shard it, he didn't even want to follow D'ror anymore! But he didn't exactly have much of a choice about that, and hey, at least it wasn't someone else in charge. You know, someone that would actually check up on what they were doing.
But that didn't matter. Nothing mattered. He opened his mouth like he was going to say something, but then stopped. He was done playing around. He didn't even say anything before Ridan kissed him, and simply made it deeper, hoping that would suffice as the answer he'd never have to say. There was no way he'd ever be able to say anything sappy or anything that Ridan probably wanted to hear, but just the fact that he had deepened the kiss on his own spoke volumes.
ooc: I suppose we should fade to black/end thread/aftermath? xD
