Name:
Aladia
Gender:
Female
Age:
18 turns
Sexuality:
Heterosexual
Location:
Dalibor Weyr
Rank:
Dragon Candidate
Personality:
Aladia is an intelligent and clever young woman. She does not mind confrontation, but she doesn’t go out seeking it. She roots for the underdog, and thus is willing to take a smaller dragon just to prove that they can be as exceptional as the stronger colors. She is almost annoyingly happy, with a smile constantly plastered to her face. That being said, she is incredibly insightful, once you get past her bubbly, sunshine-bright exterior.
She is open about her past as long as you don’t delve around… There are things buried so deep in her psyche that if someone were to force her to remember them, she just might have a mental breakdown. (Please feel free to look at her history for the memories that should not be mentioned. Because I know someone’s going to get to them at some point.) Aladia loves to sing, hum, whistle, etc. Music is a means of escape for her.
Appearance:
Aladia is a wisp of a girl- she's five foot two and barely 100 pounds, despite her being 18 turns old. She has wavy, copper-colored hair that hangs down to her waist, but she prefers to tie it back so it doesn’t get in the way. Her eyes are by far her best feature. Her left eye is an icy blue while the right possesses a brown color. Aladia prefers earthy tones when choosing her clothing. She finds bright colors to be a feature of vanity; a way of drawing unnecessary attention to oneself.
Family:
Father: Othol- estranged (located somewhere near Eastern Weyr)
Mother: Raeli- deceased
Pets:
None… yet.
History:
Aladia was born in Fort Weyr, but moved to Fort Hold after her mom died. Her father, a former mine worker, is a drunkard. Growing up, she didn’t get to play with the other kids, as her father was a bit… possessive. He and Aladia split ways after she turned twelve, when she was searched to be a Candidate and sent back to Fort Weyr while he caught the eye of a rich woman from Paradise Hold. Father and daughter kept in contact sporadically, although Aladia hasn’t heard from her father in a couple of turns.
When she first moved to the barracks, Aladia found life to be very difficult and overwhelming. She’d never lived with more than two other people at a time, and having never been around kids her own age, she didn’t know how to interact around her fellow candidates. She slowly came out of her shell as the years passed, and is now fairly normal, although she is pretty squeamish. She recently transferred to Dalibor Weyr.
What Aladia has buried in her subconscious is the murder of her mother, Raeli:
She was six turns old, and was supposed to be in bed. Her father, Othol had come home late from drinking- again. Her mother, who had given up being a Candidate to marry Othol, had become tired of just barely scraping by. She had waited up until the very early hours of the morning when he came stumbling in, a flask in his hand. She had confronted him and the fight quickly escalated, with her father pulling out a knife and stabbing her mother. After checking to make sure Raeli was dead, Othol made his way to the door of Aladia’s room, where the small girl had watched the entire scene unfold. Terrified, she had tried to scramble away from her father, but he simply scooped her up and slung her over his shoulder. The last things Aladia’s mind registered was the smell of alcohol mixed with the sharp scent of blood as her father carried her away. The smells still terrify her. She also has recurring nightmares.
Dragon Preference:
I was thinking maybe a yellow because their personalities would match, but I’m fine with whatever I’m given! Oh, and I don’t care if she’s mauled.
