Through the crowd, And I need you, And I miss you, And now I wonder.
The yellow came first. With her wings spread wide, she glided down to land on the very fringe of the ledge of brown Mikidith's weyr. She kept to the edge. It had been quite a while since she had come to visit. It was not in her nature to intrude. Neatly, she folded her wings against her palely colored body, rustling them quietly. Hello Mikidith; Annith said sweetly. She sounded quite happy to see him, voice nice and sunny. Her eyes were particularly full of a vibrant mix of blue and green, their usual colors with unusual intensity. She stretched out her nose towards him in extra greeting, a display of affection.
In the wake of his dragon, the tawny blond came next. P'nay hesitantly came up to the foot entrance to the weyr. He couldn't believe he was being so modest, but it had been a long time since he'd seen Lio and a longer time since he'd had a proper conversation with the brownrider. Annith had, after all, chosen another dragon in her flight, and the yellow wasn't exactly filled with simple, primal urges. He peered around the corner, into the weyr, cautiously, blinking his gray-blue eyes to take in the stony sight of the space and the brown sight of Mikidith taking up space. He felt like a spy, which was sort of cool.
Very little can keep him from grinning anyway, since he liked to grin even when he didn't feel grinning, so a lopsided smile split across his face. He stepped inside, giving a nod of greeting to Mikidith, who seemed far less harmless to him than Lio might end up being. Annith had a way of keeping dragons she had as friends from being liable to eat him. "Hey, Lio. It's P'nay;" he called, looking around for a sign of the handsome brownrider. His decision to come had been on the spur of the moment, built on the fact that Annith had wanted to come and visit the pair. That had been it for the basis of why he'd thought to come over.
Of course, the yellow had perfect reasoning for wanting to come over and visit the other pair. They were friends! She needed no other reasoning. That was the best type of reason in the world. I hope you and Yours have been well; she said politely, taking a singular step forward into the space. She began the conversation with ease, drawing on manners she must have learned from someone other than her rider. She eyed P'nay's furtive entrance with her usual kind wish that he might be a little more happy. Truthfully, she had, at some point, also thought that visiting Lio might also be good for him too.
If I could fall, Into the sky, Do you think time, Would pass me by.

Mikidith looked up from where he laid, seeing a bright yellow hide heading toward his way. The hide belong to only one being, the beautiful Annith. Mikidith raised his head, his eyes swirling in greens and blues, happy to see this beautiful creature heading his way. When the dragon landed, Mikidith dipped his head in a small bow, not really able to bow when he was laying down. Hello, Annith, he said politely. My Mine and I have been doing well. Mine has been wondering how your Mine has been since the incident back in the dining hall with your Mine`s old friend. Sadly, Mine is not sorry for punching that person and says he would do it again. Though, for some reason, Mine is very protective of your Mine. But, also, how have you been doing? the Brown asked her, trying to move around some to make space for the Yellow on his dragon crouch. The Brown may be big, but he was certainly polite. He was very glad to see Annith, though he was still a bit sad since the Flight. But he had made it a point to try not to let it get to him anymore and to overcome it. Annith would Risa again, and he would prove himself next time.
Lio looked up from where he sat on the floor. The man was wearing pants at least, but not boots or shirt on. The man had been working out, a usual routine for him every day. Normally he would work out in the morning, when it was cooler and not many people were awake. Most of the time, he just did what the earthlings called sit-ups, push-ups, and crunches, trying to stay in shape and get ready for Thread coming soon. When he heard the voice, he smiled and stood up, wiping the sweat from his brow. The man was glad to see P`nay. After all, the last time he saw the man, P`nay had just come face-to-face with an old friend and was told that he was an uncle. Lio came to the front of his door. "P`nay! It is good to see you. Excuse my look. I was was just doing some exercises this afternoon. I would have done them this morning and looked a lot more decent, but Miki wanted some personal attention. The dragon had an itch to go swimming, so I went with him while he bathed. Come on in. Let me get a shirt on. How are you doing?" Lio was trying to make it less awkward. P`nay was a gorgeous looking man, nad Lio did like the man. But, he knew P`nay was shared with many people. And, well, Lio was slightly disappointed that he and P`nay had not spent more time together. He was beginning to wonder if the man thought of him as just a friend. Well, either way, friend or special someone, Lio was glad they would at least talk.

Maybe I think, You're cute and funny, Maybe I wanna do what bunnies do with you, If you know what I mean.
Annith felt honored by the brown's politeness. It made her happy. Same old Annith, as mostly oblivious as always with her little sparks of wisdom. She considered how to respond. She considered mentioning what Mikidith said about his rider and L'oren to P'nay, but decided better of it. She was protective of her rider, though not in the violent way that Mikidith's appeared to be. With any luck or sense, L'oren would never appear again. They had a new life. Hers was happy; he was doing well, for him. It is good that he cares. I don't think it will be necessary for him to do it again; she assured Mikidith in her kindly, calm voice with its soft confidence and optimism. She never doubted. She never thought the worst. Sometimes, she felt sad, sometimes she had to fight for things, but she never doubted the good of the world. She had seen it time and time again. Mikidith was good, almost entirely good. I have been doing well! Mine has been back to being himself, though he is very happy to see Yours now. Life is nice. It is kind of you to ask; she replied to him. She politely moved forward to take some of the space that the brown had moved to give her. She would have been fine with any space she could find in his weyr, but it would be rude not to accept what he had worked to give her. She didn't wish to offend him, certainly not Mikidith, so wonderful Mikidith!
P'nay enjoy the momentary sight of Lio working out. He settled in, becoming more comfortable, as the man chattered on, explaining to him things he felt needed no explanation. He ambled forward, swinging his gaze about to keep from staring solely at the attractive individual in front of him. His blue eyes ended up there in the end, though they someone managed to stick to the face of the brownrider. "Hey, in my book, shirts are always optional;" he said with a grin. He considered it for a moment, then gave an obvious shrug. He choose to emphasize his point by pulling his shirt over his head. Gingerly, with some care for the garment from old breeding as a weaver, he tossed it neatly, for throwing it, to the side of the room. He stretched, as if somehow freed of a great weight by the removal of his shirt. He was fit enough to pull it off, though he didn't think he held a candlestick to Lio, who he was really hoping wouldn't put on a shirt. That would be boring and no fun at all! "I've been doing fine;" he said, answering the question he had actually been asked. He didn't extrapolate on that single sentence. He wasn't one to offer long, serious responses to that sort of question. He moved closer to the brownrider, a few lazy steps. A weyr had so much space. He preferred close quarters with good company, and Lio was good company.
Well you might be a bit confused, And you might be a little bit bruised, But baby how we spoon like no one else, So I will help you read those books.

Mikidith was happy to see Annith doing well. He was also glad to hear that P`nay was doing so well now. Lio had worried very much over the YellowRider after being in the dining hall with the man. It was true that Mikidith was very protective of his Mine, but he was also very concerned over the actions that his sometimes took. Be it sleeping with a Candidate when he knows they are prohibited or punching another Rider. Mine tends to have a big heart. He opens it to those that he thinks are good people, and keeps those inside his heart that have touched him deeply. Your Mine happens to be one of them. Gyth`s Mine is another here. Though Mine has concerns, too, he tried to not let them bother him, Mikidith explained to Annith. But, he knew he had nothing more to explain. Annith was similar to his Mine, in a sense that she was sweet, gentle, and very caring. Mikidith looked around him, checking to make sure that there was not anymore space to offer to the Yellow. His Mine and him rarely had guests, and he wanted their first guest at this Weyr to be as comfortable as they could be.
Lio smiled at P`nay when the man said shirts were optional. Lio would have chuckled, knowing how often P`nay was often caught by others without his shirt. But the smile turned to a grin when the YellowRider emphasized his point by removing his shirt very neatly and, in Lio`s brain, temptingly. At that point, he decided that a shirt was not necessary for this type of situation. Wait, hadn`t P`nay caught him without a shirt before? At the Weyr Lake when they both met Chelo? Lio could not help but to look the man over, the man he so often found himself gazing at, the man that despite so long being here he still had not made any moved on. But, that was the price of sharing P`nay, and even still, Lio had nothing P`nay to share. P`nay was shared by Hustafer, R`ish (whom Lio also cared for), F`let, and who else had graced the man`s bed sheets. Lio brought himself back to reality by blinking, though his grin stayed on his face. "Well, I am glad you are doing well," Lio said, trying to keep his voice from going low with happiness at seeing P`nay. "May I ask why I have the honor of your visit today?" Lio added, curious to see what P`nay had to say.

Dance floor pro, I know you know, I go psycho when my new joint hit, Just can't sit, Gotta get jiggy wit it.
Annith listened to Mikidith explain about his rider with a steady ear but a happy heart. It made her feel good when she knew that there were people who cared about her rider as she did. It meant that her rider might be truly happy for a time. Even if he was well above his previous breakdown, he wasn't happy all the way through. She, while no one else could, was able to see the facade, judge just how thin the film was. From the moment she had walk by all others on the sands and picked the grinner, sandy haired candidate, she had known. Her understanding had grown as she had grown, and now she knew what things were good for him and what weren't. Lio would be good for him, as long as he could make it work. So was R'ish. Gyth's is very good; she agreed. The brown seemed to be looking about. He seemed concerned about something. Her? She was more worried about him! How silly of them! Your weyr is very nice; she assured him, voice serene and soothing and innocent. She flicked her tell, stretching it out. Her claws clicked faintly against the stone. She seemed settled and content. Her eyes swirled with a happy green and blue, faceted brilliancy against the pale, warm yellow of her healthy, smooth hide, showing her pleasant state of being.
At the brownrider's question, P'nay slipped even closer, taking another few lazy steps forward. It closed the gap to almost close enough, leaving a few arm lengths between them. So much air. So much space. He stretched languidly, hands over his head, as if settling into the space himself. In truth, he was just being a flirt, constantly moving his body, knowing it would keep Lio's attention if he was interested unless he was far out of the ordinary. That was the sort of thing he knew. He grinned at the brownrider. "Annith wanted to come say hello to Mikidith;" he said, pretending he had no choice in the manner. His voice also suggested at the humor at the brown and the yellow and their silliness, a joke between the two of them. Again, he slipped lazily forward, and the gap was closed to a few feet. He reached over. His fingers brushed across the other man's arms. It might have seemed only friendly, if friendly with him didn't always mean worse, they weren't both shirtless, and he wasn't grinning. Oh, and then not going and locking lips with the brownrider probably would have helped too. He deepened the kiss, for just a moment, and then he broke away, grinning winningly. "I didn't argue with her;" he said, voice soft and not at all innocent.
Na na na na na na na nana, Na na na na nana, Gettin' jiggy with it, Na na na na na na na nana.

Annith seemed quiet today. Despite the fact that she was speaking and answering everything that he had said to her, she still seemed rather quiet. Was something bothering her? Had he done something to upset her? He rather hoped not. The last thing he wanted to do was upset her. He had simply been making conversation and wanted her to feel comfortable in his presence. He inclined his head slightly toward her. Are you okay, Annith? You seem rather quiet today, he spoke toward her, his eyes a deep blue at the moment out of concern. She looked as beautiful as she normally did, but dragons were not like humans. When human became upset, they sometimes became paler than normal. For dragons, their eyes were their tell-tale signs. And hers were blue and green, but some dragons had been known to hide their feelings. Mikidith moved closer to Annith to be extra sure she was okay. Is there anything I can do to make this visit more comfortable. Do not worry about me. It is you I am concerned about.
Lio picked up on Miki`s slight sadness, but he knew the Brown would be able to take care of himself. The Brown had wanted to be left alone after losing Annith`s Flight, and he had made a full recovery it seemed. Which, Lio was glad. Though, with P`nay, Lio admitted he was concerned about the man. He cared for P`nay and did not want to see him upset again. P`nay`s movements brought him back to the here and now, noticing the enticing movements made by the YellowRider. Lio smiled at P`nay, wanting to reach out and touch him, but held away for now. But Lio did not have to wait long as P`nay`s fingers brushed against his arm, making the BrownRider want to reach out for P`nay more. In fact, Lio eyes were directly glued to P`nay`s face, watching his expression and trying to figure out what P`nay had in mind. Might be simple flirting. He liked flirting. And this was apparent as Lio wrapped his arms loosely around P`nay as he moved in to kiss him, only to pull away to speak. Lio barely bit the bottom of his lower lip, but he was still smiling. "Well, I am glad you did not. Would not have been much fun without you here with Annith," Lio muttered, grinning.

It makes me smile, Because you said it best, I would clearly feel blessed, If the sun rose up from the west.
Annith was confused by his concern. Did she seem upset? She didn't like to seem what she wasn't. She disliked, of course, projecting things that would upset others more, but she felt no need to go hiding any thoughts or feelings then, and she rarely did. She was open. Her sweetness was entirely real. There was nothing behind it, no other wall or self. Other things sometimes came out, like the need to protect, but that all lived in harmony with the kindness. She tilted her head at him as he moved closer. It was nice of him. His words were sweet. For a moment, she paused. Then she wiggled forward and snuggled against him, resting her head and neck against him. He had said anything. He had seemed quite concerned that she wasn't comfortable, and he was quite comfortable to lie against. Her eyes swirled and twinkled helpfully at him. I am quite fine; she assured him pleasantly, a thrum in her throat. She was actually more than fine as it was, but she felt no need to say that. He might end up being worried about her again from her being too much of something, and she didn't want that. Is there something I should be talking about? I had a wherry yesterday. It was good. Mine and I have been good. Rukbat shines nicely very often now. That is good. Everything is quite good. She chattered away happily, just for him, sunny and radiant
P'nay was briefly distracted from Lio to watch the antics of their ridiculous dragons. If only Annith could figure herself out for once. She was the sort of dragon who could go and fall in love, as much as dragons, odd as they were, did. She was the loving sort, and Mikidith was perfect for her. He shook his head slightly at the pair, and then turned his attention back to the lovely brownrider in front of him. "I'm glad to be of service;" he said with a grin. He leaned closer, wiggling in Lio's grasp, not trying to break free but rather settling into the comfortable grip. He thought Annith plenty of fun, but not the right sort, at times. He leaned in closer, lips almost brushing against the other man's mouth but they came just short. "Come on. There's only so much time in the world to live, and talk is so cheap;" he dared, voice low and soft. He pressed forward, pushing the other rider back and causing a brief kiss before he withdrew his lips again.
If my heart was a compass you'd be north, Risk it all cause I'll catch you when you fall, Wherever you go, If my heart was a house you'd be home.

Mikidith watched Annith as she seemed to look at him with a confused look. But she began to chat away happily, even if it was for him, but it made it better. He was not so much worried anymore, but he probably would always worry about her. After all, he and his Mine really liked the pair. Mikdith rumbled lightly as she began to speak, seeming to nod his head when she made points, his eyes returning to the happy whirling colors of green.
Lio caught P`nay`s eyes looking over at their dragons and smiled at them. Mikidith was a big sweetheart, always trying his best to please many and probably all of Pern if he could. But, for now, he would have to just stick to trying to please Dalibor. Lio chuckled lightly, under his lips, and looked at P`nay again while the man was thinking. P`nay had paid him a visit. Did that mean P`nay liked him? That maybe P`nay felt a connection between them? He almost thought he should call R`ish, but he had realized what was going on between the two men at the time. So, did that mean P`nay was using him... as a pity thing? As a simple thing to try and get cheered up. Lio did not want to feel like it was that way. That was awful thinking. P`nay turned his attention back to Lio and Lio offered the man a smile. He kissed him again and Lio kissed back, wrapping his arms more and slightly tighter around P`nay, as if almost protective. Maybe he wanted to protect P`nay from the outside world for a brief moment. To have their own time. "Then let`s live," Lio whispered back, pulling P`nay with him toward the bed.

Stay low. Soft, dark, and dreamless, Far beneath, My nightmares and loneliness.
Annith knew that he was listening. She could see it, how he responded as she spoke. She found him a very good listener. Every so often, she would pause in her talking, giving him every opportunity to speak, but she continued on when he didn't respond. She didn't mind, pleasantly gazing at him the entire time. I like the way the wind blows up on the heights by the waterfall, the way it whistles with a roar. I like the way everything shines when the morning is cold and water hangs on everything. I like the way all the people talk when they sit down to eat, and even the unhappy can hear it. The things she chose to tell were random. It became a recounting of her thoughts, so sweet, kind, and full of a life that came from others. I like laying here with you. I like yellow and brown on gray! They are very similar. I like right now. I like silly, lovely riders! She rumbled with delicate laughter.
The protective hold of Lio was an odd comfort to P'nay. He found himself grounded. He found himself in a place he always strove to attain. It wasn't quite so eye-catching and energetic. It wasn't explosive. However, it had potential. Wonderful potential, the true beginning of all things great. A grin split across his lips, which were always changing between kisses and smiles, when the brownrider whispered back to him. Oh, to live, truly live, for just a day! For just a moment! Triumphant and melodramatic in his thoughts, he let himself be pulled towards the other man's furs, grin quirking and growing as they went. When they were at the edge of the cot, he pressed forward, into another proper kiss. His fingers found and played with the hem of Lio's pants and the flesh underneath, with experienced care and curiosity. He again lost himself to a wonderful moment.
I'm not grieving for you. Nothing real love can't undo, And though I may have lost my way, All paths lead straight to you.
