Nia yawned as she walked into the dining hall the morning after the feast. So many events were going on. Nikianeth had finally reverted back to normal now that she was no longer playing the part of the brooding mother. The Orange had woken up earlier this morning and had an itch so go down the Weyr Lake and clean herself. On returning, she woke up Nia and asked if the woman had eaten anything that morning. Nia had replied that she had not ate and was quickly berated for not eating as often as she sound. Nia sighed as she entered the dining hall, Nix and Flare sitting around her neck and chirping happily. Nix was still growing, but he seemed to be slowing down in his growth. He would probably end up being slightly smaller than Flare, which would be very helpful in discerning between the two. She had also been thinking about buying another Fire lizard egg, but she was not so sure at the moment. Maybe she ought to wait. She did, after all, have her father at another Weyr. She could always have Flare send him a note and ask him to send an egg if she wanted.
She got some klah and some meatrolls to curb her appetite. But she was not hungry. She was still feeling full from the night before at the feast. There had been so much food, so much fun, until it had been ruined by the Renegades. They had kidnapped the Weyrwoman`s son. Nia had been ready to jump up quickly and grab her riding gear to follow the Weyrwoman, but she had sent a few other Riders out to go find her son. Nia sighed, still very tired from the night before. Maybe the klah would wake her up. It usually did in the past, and it should now. Well, whatever today held, it may not be as interesting as last night, but she hoped it would be somewhat interesting.
