At least A'rys was glad the day was nice, though the timing was perhaps a bit off on things. He was certain perhaps they should have came later-or earlier he didn't know what was preferred. Heck he wasn't even sure if he was preferred but their transfer had been accepted which surely meant they were..right? Right, that's what he kept telling himself. Hopefully someone wouldn't prove him wrong and maybe just maybe Grigorith would leave his insanity at home long enough for him to make one or two acquaintances first. It was always nice to have a wing-friend before your dragon nicked their underwear. They tended to be more understanding.
Mine, once did that I, smelly too
Grigorith piped up his mind voice disturbingly bland and deep. His rider ignored him at first gingerly shifting his grip on the straps as the black's wings unfurled and his tail curled. The beast was indeed an awkward sight to watch land-an act which was not something he was any good at. Flying oh yes he was good at the flying the landing..not so much. Much too large wings snapped in the air with a jarring jolt muscular, beefy frame slipping for a moment. His claws extended and for a moment the awkward landing looked fatal till his back legs touched down with talon blunting force followed by his front. Wings curled haphazardly trying to save themselves from blunting as well but they were to big, the membrane to torn from years of pathetic landings and fights and they fell over the rocks anyway and Grigorith grumbled in discomfort. Always the wings..always.
"You d-did fine, I d-don't t-think anyone was watching." A'rys drawled dismounting and tugging free the heavy bags attached to his riding straps. Grigorith turned to watch him with whirling, interested eyes making sure his bonded didn't damage any of his shinies. Really only one of the bags was A'rys his clothes and a few scrolls as well as a necklace from his Father. The rest were jammed full of egg shards broken pottery rocks of all kind and broken weapons as well. A'rys grunted with the act of wrestling them off of the straps and setting them down shifting his wait uncomfortably from leg to leg when he was finished. Shards did he hurt, the ride had been to long for the comfort of his hip and leg and he felt the muscles tighten and cramp enough to bring tears to his cloudy, pale grey eyes.
Healer, wishes Mine? Could call one, not allowed to go on ownHis voice is demanding enough for a dragon that sounds bored half the time and he offers images of what he thinks a healer here would look like-they were gory enough to make A'rys wince and give his dragon a look deciding perhaps it was best to slide to the ground and rest for a bit. Heavily the rider rested on the blacks bulky almost misshapen side as he slid to the ground, rubbing at his leather clad legs with a grimace.
"T-thats n-n-n-ot a healer Grigi."
He was given a confused baffled look because to Grigorith it was a healer-why was his Mine denying such a fact? The black shifted though curling his stunted nose into the others lap for scratching on his all to large head knobs. Inside should go, tell them we are here He seemed entirely content to just rest in the middle of the bowl with his bonded though, who looked half amused and half close to tears himself. The rider lifted a hand to idly brush his haphazard brown hair out of his pale eyes fingers tracing over the scars on his head.
"We'll g-go in a second Grigi, s-sorta c-cant move." He muttered, resting his chin on his dragons head wondering if he'd get in trouble for just dozing where he was. Really just a tiny nap, no one would notice right.

This was so embarrassing. L'am could hardly even put one foot in front of the other. In his mind he cursed repeatedly, unable to fight that cold sweat on his forehead that kept building up. Somehow he kept blaming himself for all this, though clearly he had no hand in this predicament. I could have prevented this, he seemed to seethe, but could he? It was bound to happen at some point or another. He couldn't get mad at Lebeth though. Above all else, he couldn't take this out on his dragon.
No matter how much of all this was his fault.
L'am was caught in a nasty situation. The best he could do was compose himself and keep this on the down-low as best as he possibly could. His steps, though hard to take, were becoming quick and light like a ninja's as he scampered towards the bowl. Someone there could help him. All he needed to do was find a dragonrider with a dragon that could lift a heavy little Bronze hatchling. Unfortunately, once he got to the bowl, he spied a Black and a sleepy looking rider. The good news was that this person didn't look familiar at all, therefore lowering the factor of embarrassment that his favor just might conjure. The bad news was that he didn't think the Black could do the job, unless those big wings could come in handy somehow. L'am wasn't well versed in aerodynamics. His steps were still falling short though he slowed, approaching the Blackrider with caution.
"Um...hello?" His voice was uncharacteristically meek, but he couldn't bear to have anyone find him out here. Like this.
Are you mad at me? Please don't be mad. Even Lebeth sounded just as meek, but in actuality he was panicking. The heights were getting to him.
No, I'm not. Please Lebeth, just stay calm. Funny, because L'am was having trouble doing just that. He stood stiffly beside Grigorith, trying not to let his fear reflect in his expression, but it was too hard to mask. His dragon was in grave danger.
He spoke louder, his voice projecting better this time around but with a pitch of his own anxiety behind it. "I need to ask a favor! I know we just met but I promise it won't cost you anything but a bit of your time!"
Suede, his blue firelizard, was sitting by Lebeth on a tall ledge. There was no safe way to get down from this ledge and how the young Bronze managed to climb up there in the first place was beyond his bonded human's understanding. He claimed to have just...climbed there. Suede was trying to support the young one emotionally, but even he was worried for Lebeth's safety. He simply seemed to be better at containing his nerves, unlike L'am who was usually the professional. With Lebeth at stake however, years of practice blew off like dust in the wind.

Person is calling you, eat them shall I?Grigorith's head lifted from his riders lap and he turned to fix an all to small eye on the male coming towards them. Nostrils flared and for a moment his eyes whirled with a strand of red before it was gone. This one was too tiny to cause harm to his, he figured. Surely his could defeat him before he could do anything-perhaps fall on him. But if he did he would watch him carefully. Why he didn't even have any shinies on him and he smelt of fear how much harm could he do? He was of no use to him. Still he kept his gaze fixed on the boy giving him a distrustful look.
"Eh?" Shifting the man turned rubbing at his eyes as he stared at the young man coming towards them. He hadn't meant to fall asleep, but he did and he felt a bit foolish. After all coming to a new Weyr you were suppose ot make a good impression-not be found curled up in the middle of the landing pad with your head pillowed on your dragons flank and snoring away.
Do not snore, make hiccup noise I do not .. Using his dragons as support he managed to struggle to his feet resting heavily on the good leg as he eyed the unknown boy. "D-don't need to apologize." He told him simply enough staring at him with interest. Idly flicking his wayward hair out of his eyes the man stepped forward over to the other making talking distance more comfortable for them both. He was sore from the ride already and his limp was more predominant but the scarred man had a smile on his face as he stared at the other.
"Whats w-wrong exactly?" He questioned. Behind him Grigorith gave A'rys a few feet of 'alone time' as he called it before he lurched to his feet muscles wavering as he padded silently after his rider like a dog. Protectively the black loomed up behind him placing his head on his shoulder to blink at the boy. Eat him, I can? Noo you can not eat him you great lump Grigi' snorted as if to say 'what a pity' still staring at the boy with unblinking eyes.
"J-just arrived here actually n-names A'rys, transfer." He beamed. "W-what can I d-do for you?'

L'am noticed the stutter, but hell if he cared. He had bigger problems and he had little trouble understanding A'rys. It wasn't as if he was speaking some other language altogether. The boy gave a bow of his head before he hastily introduced himself. "I'm L'am, Weyrling of Bronze Lebeth. Welcome to Dalibor." He didn't mean to be so short, but his nerves were so frayed this morning that he was bound to spark up at some point. L'am may be a master of social intercourse, but he had issues when it came to dealing with sudden crisis such as this.
"No, see, you don't understand. I should apologize now before I even say anything. I need to ask you a huge favor, but you gotta promise you won't tell anyone about this--well no, but I mean I beg that you don't tell anyone," he rambled, tense as he's ever been. He was truly pleading because if the Copper Queen learned of what her son had gotten into, she'd definitely scold him for it. L'am was trying to look like a prodigy and a valuable asset. He didn't want to look like the class dunce.
A voice reached out to Grigorith, young and nervous. Oh, hello... Lebeth didn't sound offensive or anything. He sounded like a tiny voice who only popped his head out of the dark to say hi.
"See...I was just getting up this morning and I couldn't find Lebeth and I started to get you know, a little worried. He's just a little guy. Then he calls to me and lets me know where he is. Turns out he was trying to get a head start on flying and he had this brilliant idea to climb up this ledge." L'am would have laughed but it wasn't funny to him at all. In fact, he seemed to be growing pale just re-telling the story. "I'm glad he likes to go a step beyond and all, but he picked a pretty tall ledge. I can't reach him at all and he can't get back down. It's too dangerous for him to jump down."
I am dreadfully sorry, Lebeth added for the two humans to hear. He sounded a little friendlier this time. When he spoke up enough, his cheeriness returned, despite all the danger he put himself in.

"Pleasure t-to meet you." He was a bit taken aback by the others shortness but he saw worry in the boys face and he figured something was up enough to allow it to pass. He wasn't entirely expecting a warm welcome either way, not when Grigorith was looming behind him like he was. In fact he wasn't even sure if he had warned anyone he would be showing up today. A'rys was good like that, figure they would be expecting him and know he'd show up sometime..and they would just be aware when he did. Never one to understand social situations anyway A'rys was never certain he wanted a warm welcome. What would he say if a king or queen rider happened by? He'd probably be to busy stuttering out words to figure anything proper out. This boy and his problem were more important then anything else.
"Eh...?" Was all he could say as he was sworn to secrecy. Okay this had gone from interesting to just odd. He was always one to roll with the punches though and his muscular shoulders flexed in an easy good nature shrug. "Who w-would I t-tell?" He asked with an amused lopsided smile silvery eyes intent on the boys. "Really I d-did just c-come here the worst I c-could do is t-tell Grigi and he's here. I w-won't tell I p-promise kid." This also made him even more curious. What could be so important, or embarrassing, to swear him into secrecy?
Grigoriths' head tilted upside down eyes shutting as the voice reached him. Flexing talons into the ground with practiced ease the dragon blunted them on a few rocks snorting. You..talking to me?Hurr...young yes? This this is you?His surprise was clear enough in his deep mind voice but the dragon was quick to form a little fantasy for who ever had just spoken to him. He sent a mental image of what he thought the other dragon looked like. It was disturbing to say the least, a dragon the same color of metal he had seen once except his eyes were melting and his body kept making a wierd ticking noise and yet with the image came the feeling of curiosity and the want to know what was going on and even a faint interest in the entire situation.
A'rys listened to the entire story with his arms crossed and slowly a smile formed on his face. He looked a bit lost for a moment though how was he suppose to help? Grigorith stepped forward muscular frame settling down enough for him to place his forhead against his riders and portray what was needed of him. Since the kid knew nothing of his riders need to know things twice to learn them he did it for him. Except of course..backward. A'rys understood enough though the dragon spit left over on his face made him grimace as he pushed the black away.
"Aye aye I g-get it Grigi thanks." He murmured to the black limping over to mount up with some help from a thick blunted nose. The man offered an arm down to the Weyrling. "Be q-quicker if you r-ride with me and s-show me w-where he is alright?" He tried to sound reassuring. "D-don't be to embarrassed a-about t-t-this why Gr-grigorith did something similar. E-except he p-put another dragon on a ledge and left t-the thing there.'
Deserved it..he did. Ugly said I was, wrong he was. Boy doesn't think I am ugly do you Boy?Grigorith piped up to the child giving him a whirling, dangerous look.

L'am was glad that A'rys wasn't making a show of this. He didn't see why a newly transferred Blackrider would go about scolding him for carelessness, but he wouldn't have been surprised if he had been told off as he had actually expected. He could easily lose Lebeth if he slipped off that ledge. L'am could hardly bear the thought and it was strange and all, seeing that he only knew the Bronze babe for a season or so. This Weyrling wasn't the sort to get so attached to anything so it was so strange. His heart was beating a mile a minute and the desire to retain his dignity gave way to rationally-charged emotions. It was better to ask for help and take a little shame than lose his dragon in attempts for maintaining his image.
He accepted A'rys's proposal and reached for the Blackrider's hand, having a bit of trouble situating himself on Grigorith's back at first but he managed to maneuver himself into place behind A'rys. "Thank you. I owe you big time for this. Anything you need, I'll make sure you get it," L'am said, and he meant it. He never went back on his word and he was grateful in every sense. Though this dragon wasn't the largest he would have hoped to find, if Lebeth cooperated, the Black could help his Bronze cousin down with ease. He looked muscular enough for the task, especially if he managed to put a dragon on a ledge before. Getting Lebeth down would be easier than putting him up there anyways.
All the same, L'am did not hear Girgorith speak to Lebeth; dragons didn't include those who weren't their own riders in their conversations all that often. If he had, he would have been worried. The young Bronze had a bad habit of failing to take hints.
I cannot quite see you from up here, Lebeth admit, trying not to look down too much. Besides, the sky was a lot more soothing to look at when he was this high up. Looking back at the ground reminded him just how far he was from safety. He wasn't afraid of falling all that much. Most of his dismay was due to the emotions his situation left his rider with. Lebeth didn't have much sense in the danger he was in. He wasn't going to be doing this again...not until he was actually ready to fly. But from Mine's eyes you look fine. I do not find much to be ugly. Lebeth didn't give it a lot of thought. Ugliness wasn't a matter he let bother him.
The Bronze squinted out towards the Black and then his eyes swirled colorfully. Ah! Might I be saved? He sounded excited about this. Too excited. L'am hoped the young one wasn't enjoying this too much.

"Aye, maybe y-y-you c-can show me a-around later." He shrugged easily enough. If he said no he wouldn't mind after all why would he? He was use to usually having very little in the way of friends and he wasn't about to decline helping this weyrling with rescuing his dragon. He would be a cruel man if he had declined though chances were he would have found another to aide him but what if it was to late? Surely the bronze could only stay up on that ledge so long and he had heard stories about dragons betweening from mental strain alone he didn't want to wish that on anyone especially not a child. If he could help one person already that would make his entire week look better.
Turning he made sure the boy was sitting proper gently prodding one leg till it was where it should be before he grasped the reigns in his hand patting his muscular beastie on the neck. Grigorith snorted giving them both a whirling look before he took off being more careful then normal. He made sure his back draft didn't hit the child as well hoping he'd be saved what could have been a painful bout of whiplash.
Thankfully the bronze wasn't far off and Grigorith hovered for a moment staring at the 'child' with whirling eyes of interest. He looked over the entire thing the size of the ledge the size of the bronze before he landed a bit under him trying to nudge the people off of him. He could not by any means carry them and a child that was nearly the size he was!
Without being asked A'rys dismounted nearly falling because of his leg. A quick hand shot out to catch himself on Grigorith's side before he offered an arm up to the weyrling to help him down. "Grigi c-can't do it with us on h-him." He explained with an apologetic smile twisting his head a bit to flick his messy hair out of his face. A gust of gentle playful wind tugged it back and he sighed letting it stay this time. Oh well.
Hold on bronzething, coming Uncle Grigi isHe had been kind enough to share those words with his rider as well and the man blinked in confusion up at his dragon who stared innocently back at him nudging L'am to make him get off quicker. "D-did you just s-say Uncle G-g-grigi?" He questioned and the black clacked his muzzle together in response giving a dragonlike shrug in answer. A'rys decided it was best not to question at least Grigorith wanted to help.

"Sure, I'll show you around, anywhere you like," L'am said with a quick nod of his head. "Thanks for understanding. I know I should have been more attentive to Lebeth. I can't let him get into trouble like this." He held on firmly to A'rys as Grigorith was preparing to take off. He briefly remembered his first and last ride on dragonback and tried not to think of it that much. It wasn't all that pleasant, but he remembered hiding that pale look on his face from his searchrider when they popped out of between. Well, it wasn't like they were going there. Right now the boy was finally beginning to compose himself for the first time since the young dragon's predicament came to mind.
Lebeth might have gone through that whole anxiety drama that could have driven him to between, but the young Bronze felt he was in no danger whatsoever. He simply couldn't get back down by himself. He wasn't in the process of falling or anything; granted, if the rocks underneath him gave, he could end up plunging to his death, but he wasn't thinking about that at all. If anything bothered him, it was his rider's ceaseless fretting. It was such a fine morning before he relayed to the Weyrling that he was stuck up in a high place. The air was nice and cool up on the ledge and from here you could see more of the weyr and the first of the dragonriders taking to the skies. It was like watching a flower bloom in speedy motion.
When the Blackrider indicated that they couldn't remain on Grigorith's back during the rescue, L'am understood. "It's alright. I'm not afraid of heights or anything," L'am said as he struggled a bit to slip down on proper ground. It was a bit of a lie. Up here, where the draft could get wicked if it pleased, he felt like one good gust could blow him off the side of this rock face. It wasn't as steep as he remembered it when he first came out here to look up and find Lebeth idling above, but it still was formidable in appearance. L'am called up to his dragon. "We're here Lebeth! Hold tight!"
The Bronze youngster craned his neck to look down as much as he was willing to, receiving the message from both his rider and the dragon who intended to help him. Thank you, UncleGrigi, he replied. It was likely that unless Grigorith told him otherwise, Lebeth would end up calling him that for as long as he knew him. He figured it was polite to use the same name he was given to use. Plus, it rolled off the mind well. If my wings were just a little larger, I might have been able to glide...but Mine did not wish me to even try. He spread his wings to observe them himself for a moment, but as he had guessed they seemed a little too small to support his weight. Besides, he still had the awkward build of a hatchling about him. Bronzelings just develop a bit slower than their chromatic cousins.

A'rys shifted to place what was suppose to be a calming hand over the boys arm smiling at him. "Its okay." He tried to say each word perfectly without his stutter in hopes of calming him even more. He was a bit bulkier then the weyrling an shifted himself to put his more muscled girth in front of him to break the wind. While he wasn't the most stable of people he managed to lock both legs and steady himself turning his head upward to watch the two dragons at work. He stared at the bronze form with worry. He wasn't fully grown not even close and that worried him. Grigi' was muscular sure but could he manage to lift something that big? They were not use to rescue missions unless they were people, not dragons. Dragons could normally move on their own.
Grigorith awkwardly hovered in front of the bronze head tilted as he surveyed the entire thing. He couldn't land not without a chance of causing the ledge to crumble and in worry he crooned a question down at his rider. A'rys may have been use to the headaches his dragons mind pictures gave him but he still had to close his eyes to prepare himself and receive it completely. "No G-grigi you cant l-land if the ledge is like that. You'll have t-to try something else." he called up to the black who snorted tail lashing in his anger at this. He didn't like this ledge not at all this ledge was silly and clearly in his way.
Hurt you, this might, does not mean. Spread your wings out tuck legs in, hold tight. Will glide both down might hurt yes? Claws bigger then dragons Grigorith flexed his talons showing the bronze what he meant how his talons were almost malformed with how large they were even in comparison with his bulky upper frame. It was a warning with what he wanted to do he might end up slipping and slicing him though the thought alone made the dragon grimace. He never did want to cause problems anymore at least.
Twisting his frame about till he was hovering over the bronze his front talons wrapped around his hefty front legs his back tucking under his belly to at least save some awkwardness. It was not by far a comfortable position and muscles strained to get them both aloft. He could feel the uncomfortable burning in his chest-their chest because A'rys was grimacing in pain with him, as he flew and it looked as though it might not work till he managed to inch the bronze upward.
He couldn't spare thought to speak but began to decent hoping he'd listen and open his wings as he glided downward. Just a bit more and they could land or the bronzelet could extend his feet and grab for the ground himself.
"Any b-b-igger and Grigi couldn't d-do it." He told the boy next to him watching with a pained look. "I hope your d-dragons okay though kid that c-cant be comfortable for either of t-them.'

It wasn't looking like this would be a smooth operation to begin with, but actually being closer to the site revealed more issues than from afar. The ledge, though it held Lebeth's weight firmly, did not look like it could support both dragons for very long if they concentrated that weight too close to the same spot. L'am began to sweat it again, watching this delicate operation take place. He never physically crossed his fingers and he never prayed, but his mind was focused so sharply on the Bronze's that if the youngster went between the Weyrling might actually be capable of the same thing. Lebeth watched Grigorith carefully as he maneuvered around him, but he wasn't wary in the slightest. He was actually caught in the same mindset as his rider, who practically linked minds with him. They were nearly the same entity, as this was an emergency and Lebeth needed to do exactly as he was told. The oblivious young chap was likely to mess up on his own. Either L'am didn't trust Lebeth fully, or he didn't want to separate himself from the Bronze in this time of crisis.
Suede, who had been keeping the young dragon company, fluttered past the Black and down to His, where he landed on L'am's shoulder and crooned with encouragement. For the both of them, rider and dragon, the Blue flit wanted to see to it that they got through this without a hitch. He noted A'rys's presence, the ever social creature he was, but he remained to his human's side for the time being. L'am needed him more and he came first.
As Grigorith dropped the warning, Lebeth relayed understanding. Will do, UncleGrigi, he replied politely, relaxing though he nearly went stiff in anticipation. The idea of pain didn't sink in yet, but the fact that he was about to be moved was exciting.
Focus Lebeth. Do as you're told and keep your head. I'm with you, L'am thought, gaze stuck on his dragon's form above him.
The claws prodded at his front legs before Grigorith had wrapped around Lebeth, sticking him and prickling. The Bronze gave a stifled cry in surprise and sharply spread his wings, bracing himself against the bit of pain. His hide was pretty tough, but it still was softer than an adult's. Grigorith's claws still dug into him like blunt twigs. He knew the Black was trying to be as gentle as possible, but it wasn't going to be easy. Lebeth wasn't the sort to harbor any ill feelings but now this was becoming more real. He hesitated at first to tuck in his legs, but with another mental push from his rider, he finally complied. He helped to push Grigorith and himself from that ledge, which dropped a few stones once the weight was removed, and the two dragons glided uneasily down towards the ground.
To L'am's great relief, the descent wasn't too fast. It was slow enough for Lebeth to stretch his legs out again and land without harming himself. He might have sprained a foot in the landing, as L'am felt a sharp pain in his wrist, but it dulled away and Lebeth didn't seem to mind it as much as the prickly feeling of Grigorith's claws. L'am had felt those too, but it wasn't as bad as the Bronze was making it out to be, was it? It didn't feel like the end of the world.
Seeing his partner back on the ground again reignited the energy within him though. He wanted to slide down the ledge and give Lebeth a proper hug, but he himself was a bit high up. Well, if Lebeth stood on his hindlegs or he careful slid down, he could probably reach him. "Hey, are you both okay out there?" L'am called, concerned for the Black as well. He had done a great service helping down a dragon nearly his size. It was a testament to his strength.
Fine, L'amMine. Fine. No need to worry anymore! Your Lebeth will not be doing that again any time soon, he replied in his usually cheery way. It was good to hear a dandy ol' Bronze again. L'am was smiling. Suede gave a chirp and took off from L'am's shoulder to flutter about in celebration. The stress-exhausted Weyrling looked to A'rys with a half-charming smile and a nervous laugh. "That's some dragon you have there. He's something else."

A'rys eyes had flicked for a brief moment to the flitter and while a faint pained look crossed his pale eyes he didn't comment on the critter. If it was helping the boy his irrational fears wouldn't help anyone and he'd let it be. He watched with worry paining his own eyes for his own dragon his shoulders burning with the effort. Where he didn't have wings he could feel the phantom pains over his arms and where they could connect and he winced in worry as the bronze was set down. Grigorith couldn't stabilize his own landing in time his wings were huge and needed time and he went head over tail into the ground with a skidding halt kicking up dirt and rock alike till a boulder stopped him-with his head. Floundered the black lay there in a crumpled heap staring up at the sky as his chest rose and fell with every aching paint of air. Why was the ground blue, why was there whispy things in it..
"GRIGI! G-grigi are you okay?" He called out after the black. He couldn't run down the ledge after him he'd hurt his leg worse but the worry was evident on his face as his dragon shifted his massive head to stare at him for a moment blinking dazed eyes up at the pair of them. Why is Mine in sky?Down you will, Grigi comes A thankful laugh bubbled from the mans lips as Grigorith untangled himself shaking his wings out to inspect both of them. The membrane was even more torn but he was use to that and with an irate flick he freed himself of as much dirt and dust as he could holding his wings tucked against himself as he strode over.
"Grigi don't fly you m-migh have p-pulled something. L-like your head." He murmured with loving teasing and the dragon snorted flicking his tail at him before he crouched down placing his claws on the ledge and arching his head up. No fly, to tired. Grigi, slide down. Thank you to Grigi you say with rubs and scratches and your shiny thing He spoke directly to the boy this time giving him a dazed whirling eye and ignoring his riders look. A'rys slid down first mindful of his dragons bruises and neck ridges to drop to the ground with a wince of pain. He wasn't sure if the pain he felt anymore was his own or his dragons and he wasn't about to complain. Grigorith had done good he made a note to find his favorite treats for him surely they had some bread to spare that he could feed to him. Grigi' didn't much care if it had mold on it anyway.
"Your s-shiny thing is your firelizard b-by the way." He explained motioning to the firelizard with a look of..fear. He didn't like them one bit he hoped it stayed away from him. "Grigi he w-wont give it to you th-that is his shiny thing." He tried to explain to his dragon who turned to stare at him with a snort before turning his head to look at the bronze motioning for his rider to go stare at him for a bit. He was annoying him with his concern.
Limping over to the dragonlet the man knelt as much as he could smiling down at him. He made no motion to touch the dragon, it wasn't his but he looked him over as best as he could. "Did y-you break anything, a talon, pull a muscle? G-get poked by his claws?" he asked with actual concern. "B-best to get them looked at now hmm? And th-theres something you can do for pulled muscles that helps.'

The landing was quite shocking to L'am as well, who waited with is heart in his throat in hopes that this rescue mission didn't cost the Black his life. After all that has happened this past turn, another death to the toll would have been devastating. L'am wouldn't have been able to forgive himself. He was still having trouble doing that as Grigorith managed to get himself to his feet again. He was wobbly, and judging by his own ghostly aches, Lebeth was a bit battered as well. Not nearly as much as his savior though. Speaking of whom, the Bronze trotted over to Grigorith's side as soon as the Black had landed in his not so graceful manner, his eyes swirling with colors of uncertainty before Grigorith snapped to life again.
L'am was able to breathe again when Grigorith was on his way over to assist them off the ledge. Lebeth followed the older dragon like an adoring pup, merrily trotting beside the Black with a slight limp in the front. The Weyrling hoped it was merely a sprain and nothing more. His own wrist felt only the slightest bit irked and Lebeth wasn't outright complaining about it. He could be oblivious as can be, but he wouldn't hide pain on the scale of a bone fracture. The young Bronze was even about to copy Grigorith's example and stretched his neck out towards L'am when he was close, but he wasn't as large as the Black just yet. He just barely reached. His neck retracted and he watched Grigorith adoringly. He didn't quite know what it was like to have an uncle but he liked the sound of it. They sounded like tons of fun. This uncle was already the best, that's for sure.
To the dragon's message, just as he reached the two riders caught up on a ledge, L'am wasn't sure how to respond. The way that Grigorith spoke confused him slightly, so it took a little while to process. Thank you was a must, for certain. "Thank you Grigi," L'am began, feeling a little awkward only knowing the dragon by nickname. Most dragons insisted to be called by their full names. He was sure Lebeth wouldn't have cared if his human shortened his name, but Lebeth was short enough. After mentally translating the next part of Grigorith's request, L'am reached to lightly rub around the spot where the Black hit his head. He didn't want to hurt the fella after he had just rescued his dragon.
He wasn't sure what 'shiny thing' was supposed to be; at first he thought it was Lebeth, since he was a Bronze and all. When A'rys below explained, L'am's dazed look disappeared instantly. Suddenly his old color was returning once more. "Ah well, he's likely to come to you. Suede loves to meet new people. You can say he's impressed to everyone."
As if on cue, Suede took off and fluttered about Grigorith, chirping in enthusiastic greeting. He had never met a dragon aside from just one that bothered to note his existence. It was one of the main reasons he took to people rather than to other firelizards or dragons. He settled down on a large stone by the Black, still gazing up at him with curious blue eyes that matched his sky blue hide. The tiny creature all but forgot about the man who feared him for reasons he couldn't understand at all. Aside from that one girl long long ago, nobody disliked Suede. She didn't like firelizards to begin with.
L'am carefully made his way down Grigorith in the same manner that A'rys had, having watched the Blackrider's moves in order to copy them with acute precision. He made sure he was off Grigorith's back as soon as possible. He never wanted to burden the Black that much again, if he could help it.
Lebeth tilted his head at A'rys and shook his head. Lebeth is fine, thanks to UncleGrigi, he informed the man, then glancing up at the Black as if in a momentary trance. Lebeth is glad that UncleGrigi is fine too. He is the best! He meant that sincerely, as he hadn't spent a whole lot of time with other dragons and he was still very grateful for having been saved by him.

Grigorith's head cocked to the side as this 'Suede' landed below him and shifting his weight he brought himself down as level as he could get with the tiny thing. The flush of fear thrumming through his mind caught him initially off guard. He wasn't sure why his Bonded was afraid of this thing it was really a tiny creature, a bug perhaps or..well a shinything. He tried to mimic the whirling blue in the shinythings eyes with his own feeling pleased with himself. Fascinated a muzzle arched forward to dash over the shinything as gently as the black could muster.
A'rys watched the entire thing with interest and amusement. The bronze following Grigi', a dragon who up until this weyr had no friends in the form of four legged dragonic types, had tugged on his heart strings. Grigi' had at first pretended to ignore the bronze but he wasn't as secretive as he thought. A'rys caught the look of interest and enjoyment the black cast the bronze. It was a new feeling to be adored for the black and once he was done his minor examination and poking of the firelizard he turned to give his attention to a better more talkative audience.
"Grigorith'll be fine." He explained as he watched the still slightly dazed dragon hunker down laying down as gently and slowly as he could. He ended up ruining the entire 'dignified' fall when his wing caught and his entire form went tipping to the side with a thump. Hiding a snort of laughter behind his hand A'rys watched Grigorith tug a scarred wing free and just rest there instead prodding the bronze with a huff. Come, sit with Grigorith. We rest...you grow big, remember Grigorith? Fly we will when you are big, together? Uncertainty fills the normally bland mind voice and even A'rys can feel it. His dragon didn't tell him what he said but he's staring at him for a moment before he brushes it off. Surely if its important he figured Grigorith would tell him of it later and instead the man decides its best to sit down idly rubbing his fingers over his hip and thigh to ease some of the strain there.
His head turned and he smiled shyly up at the younger boy and it was odd how he the rider seemed almost uncertain himself, twitchy even. "How are you feeling? Y-you should p-put some hot clothes over his leg okay? A-and m-maybe yours t-to though y-you only have backlash pain. Warm t-them in the oven or f-fire for a bit. S-should help." he explained and he shifted to try and get more comfortable wincing in pain. He hated backlash pain coupled with his own? He wasn't going to grudge his dragon his enjoyment of the bronze though and he looked like a dog curled up like he was.
An image fell into his brain and the man rolled his eyes paying attention to what he was being shown. It was a demented version of Grigorith himself with a huge bronze behind him that near shown and his smile softened slightly. "Grigorith is.." He whispered though the dragon could hear anyway, it was just fun, " Grigorith seems t-to think your d-dragon would make a perfect bodyguard w-when he's grown up." He explained. "Though hes n-nervous about it. M-most dragons don't like him you see. Or me for that matter.'

Suede wasn't vain or anything, but he was content with all the admiration he was receiving for simply being his fantastic little self. He chirped kindly when he saw the blue in Grigorith's eyes, as if he approved of the color. No one could quite tell, since it wasn't certain if firelizards could behold a full spectrum like their dragon cousins. When the Black turned his attention away, Suede fluttered over to L'am again, landing on the shoulder that opposed A'rys. He didn't want to frighten the human who was so wary of him. He desired to make friendship. He slowly peered around L'am's head to sneak peeks at the Blackrider, but he withdrew his head if A'rys got too wary of him. He usually countered fear or loathing with play. It didn't work with that female human that disliked him but he could sense with time it might have gotten him somewhere.
L'am didn't know all this, but then again Suede only had the pleasant task of informing his rider about the going-ons in and outside the weyr. By now, with the crisis resolved, his manner was casual once more and he appeared as if he was ready to stand up on a ledge and try to fly himself. This was the norm for this kid. The only trend that has been found to throw him off mentally was personal danger. Before, it was pre-Hatching jitters. Now, he had nearly lost Lebeth. Both times it had to do with dragons. He hoped it wouldn't become a trend at all. He didn't laugh when Grigorith fell over, simply because he could control himself and he didn't want to seem rude after what had just been done for him. He did smirk however, just to show he wasn't a humorless man either. He thought it was odd to see a Bronze trotting behind a Black with so much respect. Not that he didn't support it, but it was simply amusing to see the tables turned like this. Lebeth was that type of dragon--L'am could tell. He will be the Bronze that defies expectation, but in a good way. Hopefully.
Speaking of the youngster, he had obeyed Grigorith dutifully and held to his side, leaving the Black room to pull his wing free first before neatly lying beside him with the same sort of care you'd see from a feline. His eyes glimmered with their usual greens and blues and his voice was once again stuck in a high spirited mode, like an idealistic child of the gentry's. Of course, UncleGrigi! How he loved to call him that! Lebeth will fly with UncleGrigi always! Suddenly he wanted to try his hand at flying again, as if he had forgotten what had just happened, but L'am was keen to this and mentally reminded the young Bronze that he will not be doing any flying until the Weyrlingmaster sees him fit. Lebeth understood, but that didn't dampen his spirit in the slightest. Nothing could.
Quick on the uptake, L'am sat beside A'rys as well, massaging his right wrist though he knew the pain was not his. Just as he was wondering what he'd need to do about it, A'rys had given him the answer. "Thanks. I owe you big. Whenever you're up for that tour, just let me know and I'll make myself available right away," he replied, having no trouble looking anyone in the eye with a certainty to his demeanor. He could have been a politician in another life, but here he was the everyman on a mission to become something more. He was on the right track, but to stay on that track he couldn't owe any favors for long. He needed to be trustworthy and dependable to achieve his goal. He was grateful there was someone like A'rys to help him in his time of need, but L'am was still proud in his own way. If Lebeth wasn't in mortal danger, he might have tried to devise a way to get his dragon out of it solely on his own.
A'rys looked to be receiving something as he had paused for a moment, and then he started to whisper. To the knowledge the Blackrider imparted, he rose his brows. "Don't like him? Grigorith? He just saved my dragon's life. Until today he'd never even met Lebeth. He could have gotten seriously injured; the both of them could have and on that alone Grigorith could have refused to help him. I can't see how he isn't revered among dragons." He rested his arms on his knees, sitting just as neatly as his dragon might have. "I don't think Lebeth will ever forget what Grigorith did for him, and that's saying something. He forgets a lot." And fortunately he didn't have to worry about Lebeth catching that, because the Bronze was quite oblivious on top of everything. As predicted, Lebeth wasn't even paying attention to their conversation, just basking in Grigorith's space like a lizard in the sun.

Grigorith was quite pleased and when he was pleased he also gave off little images without knowing it, not to a full extent thankfully saving most people but his riders and near by dragons a headache. These were mere colors swirls of reds and blues and golds mixed in with a thin line of bronze shattering through the entire thing. What ever it was it made A'rys stomach queasy but he wasn't about to deny his dragon his fun. He was in all extent and purposes, cuddling and he cast him a little amused smile. Grigorith made the man no heed instead he shifted himself a bit to flare open a wing with a snap testing the muscles with a snort before he gave the bronze a make shift sunroof to bask under. No need to get his bronze hide marred by sun damage! Sadly Grigorith's little 'kind moment' was ruined by the fact that his black skin acted as a reflector-but he was trying and A'rys could see that.
He turned back to give the younger male his full attention giving him a faint little shrug. "Grigorith speaks f-funny for one, and l-look at him. He's..misshapen t-to an extent. Ow!" A rock had been picked at him by a black paw and with an amused snort he flicked it back at Grigi's hide the dragon ignoring him. "He a-also sees in t-those pictures of his. I d-don't know if he actually sees t-those colors or if he's t-taking them from my head. My imagination..lacks." He smirked for lack of a better term. He knew he had the imagination of a rock, surely Grigorith got his from -somewhere- though. The dragon couldn't just pull those ideas from thin air right?
"M-most dragons are afraid of him. A-and at f-first he was angry, violent t-till I fell during a weyrling t-training." he explained patting his hip with a sigh. Oh well it didn't bother him but knowingly to the rather short sighted rider his dragon had froze from his sun bathing stomach tightening and his eye snapping open. A barely audible sad little noise escaped the blacks throat and he pondered getting up and going else where. Surely the bronze boything wouldn't want to sunbathe with him now..
"N-now he's more I g-guess..withdrawl? Is t-the word. He doesn't fight now b-but he doesn't do much of anything. it was h-his idea to transfer actually n-not mine..which is why im at a b-bit of a loss of what to do. A tour would be wonderful if you c-can handle me being a bit slow about taking everything in." Thinking it was best to explain it now he lifted a hand to tap his temple with a faint quiet smile. "Have to explain things s-sometimes t-twice to me. Aint s-stupid or nothing but, have trouble remembering is all.'

When colors swirled in Lebeth's mind from Grigorith's imagination, he stayed perfectly calm and chipper, but pensive as if he was giving these colors critical thought. He had never seen such a display and at first it startled him a little, but he got used to it very quickly and remained fascinated. L'am felt rather the same way, only he was more overwhelmed by this display than his dragon. It didn't show in his face, but it would probably take him a bit longer than usual to respond. He didn't want to be rude, but the colors were distracting his thoughts. He wanted to analyze them as well, but unlike Lebeth he had a harder time processing it all. The young Bronze could back away once in a while and get the big picture down. L'am was getting a little dizzy because he was a man of details. With his mind pressed against those colors too closely, all he could fathom was a sort of light show. Because Grigorith wasn't his, the broadcast wasn't as vivid as it might have been to A'rys. Considering the residual emotions as well, A'rys was probably twice as bombarded as anyone else. L'am was amazed at the Blackrider's capacity of tolerance. Patience was hard to come by in Dalibor.
Suede stopped playing his cheeky game with A'rys when the images came to him, but his eyes seemed to reflect a sort of understanding. Firelizards might not be able to harbor the same telepathic abilities or intelligence as dragons, but this was a more familiar form of expression to himself and his kind. He began to relay colors in the form of neat and ambiguous shapes of black, sky blue, yellows, and bronze. It was a composition expected from a kindergarten painting. It was likely the large black and bronze shapes represented Grigorith and Lebeth where the yellow was atmosphere and the blue tiny specks were his flight paths about them.
Lebeth enjoyed all the imagery, snugging his his spot as if he wasn't prepared to leave it anytime soon. Being back on solid ground was nice and safe, but it didn't mean that he wouldn't be ready to try flying again anytime soon. He wanted to fly with his hero, UncleGrigi. He needed to grow big and strong first. He didn't even seem to notice the sudden shade over him from Grigorith's wing, but then again, he was already happy as a clam.
"I don't think he's misshapen for starters," L'am said, analyzing Grigorith from his distance with keen eyes. "I believe there's a purpose to every build, no matter how unique. He's in the best shape he could possibly be." He glanced to Lebeth in comparison, who had more of a 'standard' complexion. Aside from having a large head and large claws due to his age, he was no different from any Bronze. Well, there were his spots, which many weyrfolk found strange. Whenever he would spend time with his dragon and people would pass, they would stop to stare momentarily at Lebeth's patched hide. L'am felt like he understood why he looked that way however. He had patches himself. If fact, if he rolled back his sleeves you'd see large white patches of skin and speckles as if his flesh was modeled after a mottled egg. Once upon a time he used to be ashamed of this, but he quickly learned that it was foolish to be ashamed of something you had no hand in.
The rock toss did cause L'am to smirk again, but he restrained any laughter for the purpose of being polite. A lacking imagination? "No, I don't think so. If you have an imagination at all, no matter what the form, you've got it. Thinking in colors...I'd have to say that's most imaginative." As for L'am, he didn't have all that much of an imagination at all. He made plans and had aspirations, but he never imagined he'd be here or there. He didn't like to be alone long enough to daydream or take time to think too for too long. He was best on impulse, and that left little room for imagination.
L'am continued to listen and Lebeth, who heard Grigorith emit the sad noise, didn't actually take notice of it. He was too busy enjoying life lying here beside his best dragon friend in the whole wide world. He didn't catch on to the Black's concern or anything, but that was simply in the youngster's nature. Wonder how much longer until Lebeth is big enough to fly, the Bronze seemed to hum in L'am's mind. I cannot wait to fly with UncleGrigi. Will it be soon? Do my wings look nearly big enough?
The boy didn't want to interrupt A'rys, so he waited for the Blackrider finished first. "It's not problem at all. I'm in no hurry," L'am said with a friendly smile. Mentally, he finally gave Lebeth the answer he had pried for. You're not ready yet. You might not be ready for about a turn if the Weyrlingmaster doesn't see more development. It's going to take some time. He was sure all Lebeth bothered to pick up on was the first of the message. The Bronze gave a blink, a sort of sigh, and then returned to simply being merry. He wasn't going to let that news get him down. He just hoped he'd be ready when he needed to be. What if UncleGrigi left before then?
