Cleo had to admit, she did love the autumn air. It wasn't too hot, it wasn't too cold, and the sky was a brilliant sort of crisp blue. It wasn't like Igen. No, Igen was hot all the time, with sand everywhere and not a cloud in the sky. It had its own sort of charm, she supposed, but if she had to decide, she'd vote for Dalibor's weather any day. Even the thunderstorms were lovely. The way the thunder rolled out across the sky was awe-inspiring, and how the lightning flashed and how it smelled like rain afterwards... Any type of weather was gorgeous.
She was humming a pleasant, lively tune, taking a walk through the open Weyrbowl. It was a leisurely pace, with a bit of bounce in her step as she went. It was a good day. She was in a good mood. Even Andry seemed a little happier than usual. At least, he was grumbling less than he usually did. At the moment, the firelizard was lazing about, cradled in her arms. He would have been on her shoulder, but it always felt a little unbalanced, what with him being so hefty.
"So, Andry," Cleo said, smiling, "Glad we moved?"
He gave a half-hearted chirp. Cleo, though, knew enough about Andry to draw from that that yes, he was glad. He probably liked the fact that the air wasn't so dry here as it was at Igen, and not quite so full of people as Fort had been. His amount of naptime hadn't been at all been changed, so that was a plus.
Cleo giggled. "Me too, Andry. Me too." She hadn't put much mind at all to the renegade battle. It was in the past now, no use dwelling on it. Life was fine for her.
She went back to humming, and in her arms, Andry closed his lazy eyes. [/blockquote]

Out in the air above the Weyrbowl, a Purple emerged out of the emptiness of between, and he hovered for a moment before gently landing. The red-haired male that was sitting aboard the dragon quickly dismounted with a flourish, spinning around and flashing the victory sign at the dragon. "We did it, Beiruth! And we didn't end up at Southern Hold this time! the boy cheered, slapping his dragon's hide affectionately. Beiruth gave a light rumble. That was your fault, Mine. You pictured Southern Hold instead. [/i] A'li gave a quick shrug. No I didn't. You just took us to the wrong place. He said with a smirk, and looked around the Weyrbowl excitedly. Beiruth didn't bother insisting that he was right. He knew he was right, but A'li would never admit he was wrong. There really wasn't any point in arguing. While scanning the Weyrbowl, A'li spotted a girl. She was just walking. Didn't look like she had any sort of destination in mind. With a quick smirk at Beiruth, who snorted in response, the red-head walked towards the girl with an excited wave. "Hey! Oi! Girlie!" he called out as he approached. Beiruth snorted again. His really needed help with girls. He was so absolutely awful with them, it was a wonder he could actually call himself a flirt. Well, he was funny, and girls did seem to like that, so Beiruth would give him that. "I'm A'li, of Purple Beiruth. That's him back there," he jabbed at thumb in the dragon's direction. Beiruth didn't make to move more towards them, he was perfectly happy sitting where he was while A'li socialized. That was fine. While Beiruth would've liked to get up to their weyr to settle in, he didn't mind sitting and relaxing for a few moments. That long trip between had really taxed him! "You're part of Dalibor, right? Hah, a'course you are, or else you wouldn't be here," it was rather difficult to tell if he was trying to flirt or not, "Anyway, hi! Sorry, I ramble a lot. Words are difficult to stop sometimes," he continued, flashing her a quick smile.[/blockquote][/size]

Andry's eyes opened just a smidgen. He grunted. Ugh, not noisy things that weren't his Mine... They really made it hard to sleep. Still holding the brown tight, Cleo blinked and turned her head. Someone talking to her? Oh, what a pleasant surprise! She saw the redhead waving at her and gave him a dazzling smile in return. Not meaning to, she squeezed Andry a little, and he grumbled.
"Hello!" she giggled, bright as a veritable pot of pure sunshine. "Oh, don't apologize, I talk a lot, too, usually." Andry nodded solemnly in agreement, yawning. "I'm Cleo! Journeywoman healer here at Dalibor Weyr. Well, before that it was Igen, then it was Fort, but now I'm here." She paused for a moment, and then added, "And this is Andry!" She held him up. The firelizard gave a disgruntled chirp.
Apologizing mentally, she snugged Andry in her arms again. It only made her day even nicer to have this A'li come along. She loved people, and talking, and it was always just so much fun. Getting some sun, meeting some new faces, taking a break from the (admittedly) stuffy infirmary... It was a dose of just what she needed. As much as she loved her job, there was only so much time she could spend focused on it before she broke down. This was turning out to be a very nice break.
"My," she remarked, looking over at Beiruth. "Isn't he a lovely colour!" [/blockquote]

Oh, great! Awesome! She wasn't one of those stuck-up... uh, people, that didn't like to talk or listen to A'li's ramblings. He didn't like people who couldn't take a joke. They weren't any fun to be around at all. Beiruth gave another snort at that thought. His could be such a hypocrite sometimes. Not that he protested anyone's jokes except his own dragon's... so at least he wasn't an open hypocrite. Whatever. At least this girl seemed nice and fun to talk to, which was really something that A'li needed right now. Someone fresh and new and interested! Er, interesting. Interesting was what he meant.
"Great, great!" he nodded enthusiastically, "Journeywoman Healer?" he whistled, "That's impressive. You like to transfer too, I take it? Most people rarely transfer once, let alone twice." He mused, thinking. This was only his first time transfering, but he'd probably transfer out of Dalibor soon. New was fun and old was boring. But unlike Southern, this Dalibor place seemed like it had a lot of going-ons. They had been attacked by Renegades and had possibly the first dragon vs. dragon war in recent history. Not that it was a good thing... but hey, it meant this place must be full of surprises. And A'li liked surprises. Plus, his sister was here, and he doubted she was ever going to let him lose sight of her again....
The red-head eyed Andry, "He's cute. The grumpiness only makes him cuter," he gave a small laugh. A'li had no firelizards, though he really did enjoy them. They were funny little creatures. Beiruth gave a rumble of appreciation at Cleo's next comment. He was quite proud of his coloring. Greaaat, more of a boost to your ego, he said sarcastically to the dragon, who answered with a quick, It's not like you ever compliment me. [/i] I do too. Pay attention to your conversation.[/i] What? Oh yeah!He glanced back at Beiruth, then at Cleo. "You think so? He looks like a giant fruit to me." He decided he liked this girl. She seemed fun. He couldn't think of a better way to introduce himself to Dalibor.[/blockquote][/size]

Cleo giggled and smiled again. He definitely was a chattery one, just as he'd explained! And happy, too. That was always a good thing.
"Oh, well, I've only moved around a few times, but I do enjoy it!" she said. "I was born at Fort - most of my family lives there, except on of my sisters - and then later I moved to Igen, and now I'm here. New places are loads of fun and a breath of fresh air. Isn't that right, Andry?" She scratched at the pudgy flit's eyeridge. He didn't seem at all impressed by A'li's compliment. In all honesty, Andry didn't give a wherry's behind about it.
She peered at Beiruth in a more critical manner. Big fruit? "Definitely," she agreed, giving a nod. "So, you just got here? Welcome to Dalibor! It's a really nice place. At least, I think so." And, for the fun of it, she gave A'li a teasing wink. [/blockquote]
