It was early spring and, despite the sun that twinkled over occasional light showers, winter had not yet given up its icy chill over the land. The beaches of the Western Continent, full of dark sand and pebbles as befitting the latitude at which they stood, were calm today, calling those pondering wanderers to take a rest to gaze at the scenery or wade through the edges of their waters. It was a calm day, a pensive day. It was a day to look back and remember, while at the same time gaze forward in attempts at understanding and enlightenment. The weather was equally proportioned for those who wished to remain indoors and those who wished to take their mysteries and rumblings elsewhere. In simpler terms, it was a good day.
So it was no surprise that, towards the edge of the Bowl that claimed the space for personal Weyrs and entrances into lower caverns, chirping and twittering could be heard from an excited purple firelizard who stayed close to a girl of a light frame with choppy dirty-blond hair that was currently scaling down a rock face. His noises would turn from those of excitement into squawks of alarm every time she slipped, at which she would simply ring out in bright and bubbly laughter and regain her holds, then continue on. She was nearly to the ground now, no sense for the little flitter to be worrying his head about her. As she finally reached the bottom, she grinned from ear to ear and dusted calloused hands off on her trousers. Her job was complete here. She had climbed up to and down off one of the few intermediate ledges in the Bowl after Piroeth had dared her she couldn't do it. Hah! Of all the silly things to think!
'I see you didn't die.' The pink chimed in good humor as she backwinged to come in for a landing near her rider. Malin grinned and danced over to the delicate, small dragon, hugging Piroeth's mug tightly and then relinquishing it again. Meanwhile Jazard did circles above their heads, celebrating his part in the victory. 'However, it was a very small climb. If you had started from a higher ledge, you would not be so lucky.' Piroeth accented the phrase with a light grunt and pressed the crown of her head against her rider's torso as she received the hug. When she had righted her head again to its full height, Jazard immediately made his way to situate right on top of it, curling his tail and claws around the pink's horns. He chirped pleasantly, then hummed in contentment of his newfound height.
'Luck! Bah!' Mal clicked her tongue at the statement and moved to Piroeth's side, surveying the rest of the Bowl before her. There was so much to look at, so much to explore... it made her giddy just thinking about it. And think of all the handsome riders that were just waiting to meet her acquaintance! Jazard, picking up on Malin's building excitement, took off and once again became a whirling blur of dark purple against a grey-blue sky.
'We should go to the seeea!' Piroeth exclaimed, ruffling her wings against her back as if already anxious to be gone. The small dragoness had taken quite a liking to the prospect of being able to see the ocean whenever she wished and had proposed such a venture to the coast every hour since their arrival not four sevendays ago. Malin, on the other hand, was more interested now in exploring the Weyr she had come to live in. She wanted to meet everyone! She wanted to discover what lie in ever nook and cranny of every corridor and cavern. All of it was so exciting to her. A new place. A new world. A new sense of freedom... away from that hasbeen lover Piroeth so desperately had tied her to. She understood, though. The pink dragon had held her beloved weyrmate in high regard. But Mal was not the kind of girl to be tied down. She wanted freedom. She needed freedom. And maybe here, away from all she had ever known before, she could find it.
'I've a better idea...' Malin proposed, flashing a dangerous, toothy smile. 'I'll raceyoutothedininghall.' The last part came out all as one word as immediately the young rider took off in a sprint in the direction of her final destination. Jazard squealed with delight and gave chase, but the bemused Piroeth was left gawking. 'You know I can't fit in there!' She scoffed as she took off delicately from the ground and flapped lazily along, not needing to try to catch up to her lifemate. 'True, but I can!' Malin called back between breaths as she continued her sprint. Piroeth, giving up, took off in another direction to find something else to do, while Jazard popped in and out overhead of the overzealous rider who quickly found the sprint far too long for her. She stopped suddenly, hands on her knees as she caught her breath, then began her wild escapade again in full force. Just as she turned a corner to enter one of the corridors she found herself faced against something --or someone-- that nearly made her crash had she not come to a halting stop that made her trip and twist in an odd, feline-like way to keep from falling over.
'Sorry!' She spat out before she had a chance to see if it was an animate being or merely an ill-placed wall.

Out come you will now do not like you being in there, worried..hurry.The deep rumbling voice more the sound a mountain would make if it moved or could, shook piteously into his head and A'rys sighed shifting as he stared down at his meal. It had taken him quite awhile to get situated in the room they had been given fixing the pile of Grigorith's shinies to his dragons enjoyment. No Mine put this one there Mine, no I want that one there Mine, are you listening Mine? Had gone on for at least half the day. Only when he had it all set up did the black get to happily curl up on the various nick nacks of things tail tucked under them and his blunted face watching his rider do his own things.
And today was the first day the man had finally gotten a chance to go to the dininghall and eat a good and proper meal. Considering how young he still was, and how exhausted he had been(he hadn't woken up the day after slept through the entire thing he had!) he devoured a good portion of the food before eating at a more sedated pace. No one seemed inclined to bother him either which he was okay with..sort of. A'rys was never one to force himself to be social either way and the man kept his head down messy hair falling hapazardly into his storm colored eyes as he ate. It was about half way through his third portion when Grigorith spoke up and he sighed twitching.
He supposed he couldn't be mad, an hour of alone time was good enough and with a grunt he wiped his hands off getting awkwardly to his feet and grasping for his cane. He had to visit the healers here he wagered was he suppose to still be sore? Wincing, brushing his hands over his scarred forehead to tug his hair out of his eyes, he limped his way out of the 'hall heading once more outside to meet Grigorith.
Aye, I'm coming Grigi, thanks for letting me have SOME alone time. You know I can't very well eat in my room all the time though right? Having been far to busy staring at the ground and making sure his leg was moving fine the rider didn't see the woman till it was to late and already having poor balance to begin with he couldn't save himself from a spill giving a surprisingly colorful swear as he stumbled back and hit the ground with a yelp. Dazed and confused A'rys could only lay there blinking owlishly up at the sky and wondering what the shells had happened.
MINE?! OKAY?! MINE?!?! EAT HER I WILL SEND HER OUT AND ILL TEAR HER APART SEE IF SHES THE COLOR OF A TUNNELSNAKES INSIDES The yelling did nothing for his headache and with a grimace he sat up rubbing at his face to smile blearily at the girl. "Hey s-sorry about t-that guess I w-wasn't looking where I was going." He offered with a good nature shrug grasping his cane and trying to awkwardly get to his feet.
An angry, agitated roar from outside made him sigh peering blearily past her. "Grigi wants t-t-to eat you s-s-uppose I should t-t-tell him it was my fault."

Malin turned quickly as she heard something hit the ground and jumped with a small yip as she saw that her antics had made a man tumble over. She scrambled to his side to offer her assistance, despite her clearly smaller and weaker frame and was all apologies. 'I'm soo sorry, I'm so sooo sorry!' She kept repeating as she quickly inspected his bulk to make sure that he was okay. So animated she was in making sure that her accident had not caused this clearly stronger and tougher man harm that she didn't hear the sentence that sputtered from his mouth. As he struggled to get him, she noted the cane in his hand, and she firmly grasped his forearm and politely tugged to offer whatever aid she could manage.
Then came a roar from the outside. She froze in place. That must be his dragon. Had she hurt him that badly?
'I am coming! What's wrong?' Came the worried telepathic call of her dragon. Piroeth flew as fast as her delicate wings could carry toward the entrance where her rider had collided with another's, Jazard appearing at her side for support. There she saw an angry, clearly agitated black bellowing and rampaging. She paused, not sure if she should approach, but then decided, for the sake of her rider, she should land anyway. 'What's going on?' She directed at the raging black, her tone delicate and gentle to contrast with his hysterics. 'Is your rider badly hurt? Do you need to get to him?'
The pause inside the corridor, however, had allowed Malin to finally hear the man's soft voice. 'Grigi wants t-t-to eat you s-s-uppose I should t-t-tell him it was my fault.' Grigi? So that roar was his dragon? Now Malin felt rather silly about herself. She heaved hard to help the man up the rest of the way to his feet and calmed herself. Being hysterical wasn't going to help if his dragon was all upset like that. Piroeth would get upset too.
'No, no... It's not your fault at all! I-' The pinkrider paused as she got a good look at the man's face. It was scarred very noticeably. And, now that she noticed, his body had not escaped whatever had scarred him. And that stutter... was he... was he slow? No, he didn't seem it. While he stuttered he didn't seem dumb. There was a certain intelligence behind his eyes and a gentleness to his voice that contradicted what she now noticed was a very large and dark frame. He was intelligent. That much she was sure of. But what had happened to him?
'I was running. Rather careless of me, actually...' Her voice slowed and she let her sentence trail off, peering behind herself toward where the angry dragon's bellows could be heard outside. 'You should go to him...' She assumed a male dragon, although Faranth knows why, 'He sounds worried. Do you need help?' She couldn't leave him be now! Not after she had pummeled into him and caused all this ruckus. The pinkrider reached for the upper arm of his cane hand gently, her fingers delicately curling around tunic and a surprising well-built bicep. It was a sudden change from the Malin that was in antics over having knocked him over. She stood by his side, gesturing as a question for them to head on outside. He said his dragon meant to eat her, but she was not afraid. Surely if she helped him outside the situation could be remedied and his dragon would become peaceful again... right?

Grigorith turned when he heard another dragon land barely containing his urge to snap he was so agitated. He had told the rider to stay with him this was what happened when he didn't he got hurt! No one understood his riders needs like he did and his tail lashed in his worry as he shifted from foot to muscular foot. His frame could be barely contained under his jet black skin and his sides rippled as he turned to stare at the pink. Head twisted and he nearly looked at her upside down with a blunted muzzle nostrils flaring and eyes whirling. Why was this thing looking at him..was she aware what color she was? He shifted a bit to peer at her with more interest though he was obviously distracted. He knew that color yes he did that was the same color as his most favorite shinything..he should show her the shinything perhaps it came off of her. Was she aware she had lost a part?
Yours! Yours ran into mine told Mine not to go away from me, hurt he gets! And now look you..you are the same color as sharpthing, you ...you know this? Missing a part are you? Rider, want him now! Give him to me! Out, bring him out!He managed to calm down though when a thread of happiness went through their bond and he turned to glare at the door instead. He hated doors, stupid contrived things that hey were he never wanted a door in his shiny collection.
A'rys blinked at the girl as he was grabbed though he was one to accept help even when he didn't want it. He patted her with a welcoming lopsided smile on the arm eyes intent on her. She was rather tiny though and he kept all his weight situated on his own feet, at least the good one and his cane wishing his leg didn't shardin' throb so much. He had to remind himself to head to the healers later or at least make Grigi' remind him to go since he wouldn't remember. Surely they could make him a tea or something for pain?
"He's always w-w-worried." He told her with an easy enough shrug though he knew he should go out either way. "When I f-f-fell in W-w-eryling t-t-raining..ever since t-t-then he doesnt l-like me out of his sight." He didn't know the true reason why he always assumed his dragon was just grumpy when he was alone either way the walk back outside was a long one for him and he sighed rather chagrined with the entire thing. He hoped she wouldn't tell anyone that he had dumped into her it would make a poor example on his rider skills if he could barely walk.
"N-names A'rys." He told her with a bob of his head shifting his weight to the cane as he made his way outside. The moment he was free Grigorith came stomping out landing with a slam in front of him to press his head to his chest checking him over to make sure he was fine. A'rys dealt with the inspection with a lopsided smile to the girl shrugging as if to say what can you do. The moment Grigorith was sure his rider was fine he peered over his shoulder at the female human snorting at her.
This is youHis voice was deep and bland as he sent her an image of a three legged runner the other leg bleeding and a stump as the beast cried and whinned before the image died off. With a glare at the girl he sat down refusing to move till his eye ridges got scratched.
"Grigi w-what d-d-did I tell you about sh-sharing things like that?" He admonished but did as he was told scratching the dragons head. The black merely snorted refusing to answer for a moment till quietly piped up to both of them.
Fine..other leg you can have to

Piroeth blinked, somewhat stunned by the black's stunted speech. Her eyes whirled yellow with worry and she earnestly tried to process what he had said. Something about his rider being hurt... Hers ran into His... something about a missing piece and... Well, he made it perfectly clear he wanted His Mine out and with him right away! Piroeth crooned soothingly, occasionally making delicate clicking noises meant to encourage calmness in the black brute. He really was a brute... not entirely shaped correctly. He had much too large a front and much too short a snout. But Piroeth thought he was rather interesting. Especially in his dedication toward his rider. 'He is very anxious for His Mine, Mal. You should hurry. And be careful.' She passed along the information to her rider. 'Don't worry... Yours and Mine are coming and you and Yours will be together once more!' She sent to Grigorith, hoping to uplift him in what seemed to be a stressful time.
Malin listened patiently to his stuttering voice, paying even closer attention than normal so she could grasp their meaning. He had fallen during weyrling training? Was that what had happened to him? To be so scarred from such an accident... it must have been a horrible fall! She didn't blame the dragon for being so worried and anxious about his rider. Indeed, she would be overly protective of Piroeth if anything were to happen to her! She walked along carefully with him, aware she was being looked over and not minding in the slightest.
'And I'm Malin. Pleased to meet you, A'rys.' She repeated the name not only for politeness, but for her own memory's sake... not that she would be forgetting this meeting anytime soon. As they reached the doors she promptly moved out of the way to let the upset black dragon investigate his potentially injured rider. All the while she inched closer to Piroeth, who in turn loomed protectively over to her. 'I accidentally knocked into him,' The pinkrider explained to her lifemate, 'And I gave his poor dragon a scare. Odd looking, the two of them.' She added the last bit as an afterthought and felt Piroeth's agreement. They both looked on as the oddly shaped black looked over his oddly scarred rider. Somewhere along the lines Jazard had disappeared again, probably not wanting to be around such a negative atmosphere.
Then the black dragon --Grigi?-- turned on Malin, flashing violent eyes at her and flowing his consciousness into her head. She was stunned there, unable to move. 'This is you' She heard as images filled her head of a lamed runner, crying and whinnying in pain... and there was blood... and... then the image left as quickly as it had come. Malin backed against Piroeth, rubbing her temples as a headache ensued from the images that had been forced into her mind.
'Why would you do that?' Piroeth demanded. Her tone, while stern, was not angry. She talked to him as if she was dealing with a child. 'That wasn't very nice. She was only trying to help Yours. She didn't mean any harm.'
'It's fine...' Malin responded as she was able to stand on her own two feet again. She took a couple of steps toward Grigi and A'rys, managing a friendly smile. 'You were worried, weren't you? I'm sorry.' She curtsied respectfully to the brute, earnest in her apology. While odd, she couldn't deny they were somewhat of a cute pair... equally placed in each other's possession. Seeing the two together... well, it made as much sense and she and Piroeth did. As "Grigi" added in that she could have the other leg too, she giggled.
'Well, thank you. I appreciate it.' Mal grinned at the black beast, then turned to address A'rys. 'Are you going to be okay? Do you need anything? Piroeth and I are at your service.' She beamed radiantly, patting the nose of the delicate head of Piroeth that had come to settle by her side protectively. 'We didn't mean to bother you.' The pink dragon added, her voice a more ethereal and delicate version of Malin's in the minds of A'rys and Grigi.

Grigorith stared at the pink in confusion, he had done a wrong? To him his images were how he expressed himself and got through things he wanted others to know and to learn. Why had he been told off for it? With a sniff he took a step back and another till he sat his girth on the ground much like a dog would tail flicking back and forth as he stared at the female. Wrong..perhaps he should apologize? Blunted muzzle tilted almost upside down as he pondered this and a quiet deep almost melodious humming thrummed deep in his chest. He ignored his bondeds amused look at him-he was thinking! Finally he decided on an apology and began to build up the most apologetic image he could think of and A'rys watched with amusement as Grigorith actually flexed his talons in the ground as his eyes closed as if he was drawing it out.
"I'll b-b-be fine." He said for a moment though it seemed as though he was being rude and brushing her off by not even looking his attention on his dragon. Finally Grigorith opened his eyes and came forward turning his head to cast a whirling gaze on the dragon and the girl. Sorry..did not ..mean to yell at..It was a more gentle image this time the most 'boring' thing he could think of. The pink and her rider in clouds of purples and golds and the pink glowed in this image. He kept it going as long as he dared before curling up with a thump watching his rider behind a half lidded gaze.
"T-thats it Grigorith." He smiled bending to pat him on the head before explaining. "You w-weren't bothering m-me or him. G-g-rigi is.." He searched for a word that wouldn't offend his dragon. "G-g-rigi is special. He's c-creative. T-that was his way of a-apologizing to you b-both. Its h-how he see's you I g-g-guess." He explained to the pink shrugging his shoulders aplogetically.
"You c-can help me a-actually I uh.." A blush began to thread up his throat to his ears till he was almost the same scarlet as the red dragons that flew here. "You s-see I d-didn't bring any of m-my medicine with me and..m-my leg acts up w-when I t-t-ravel a lot." He murmured staring at the ground shyly. For such a young man he was considerably and noticeably nervous around such situations. Surely they would think him slow or perhaps..odd but all he really wanted was some nice tea to kill the pain and maybe another nap with Grigi. He could worry about meeting other riders later when he calmed the poor black down.
Come to Weyr you should Pinklady, show you shinies, like shinies do you?A'rys gave a start slapping Grigi' gently on the head with a huff. "You arent s-suppose to invite l-ladies to your w-weyr till you k-know them better!" He admonished with a nervous laugh. "S-sorry..'

Malin smiled as the nicer images filled her head. Piroeth in turn hummed pleasantly. The image of the two of them in beautiful clouds content and happy was a lovely thought. Then, of course, the apology was kind and honest... a rarity among most social beings. The pinkrider curtsied again to the black brute for his gentle thought. 'That was nice, Grigorith. Thank you.' Piroeth passed along to him, making reassuring clicking noises. Her rider's attention was brought back to the Grigorith's rider, however.
'You w-weren't bothering m-me or him. G-g-rigi is.. G-g-rigi is special. He's c-creative. T-that was his way of a-apologizing to you b-both. Its h-how he see's you I g-g-guess.'
'It's lovely.' Malin responded, taking a few steps to bridge more of the gap between them. She took a look at the now gentle beast. He was an awkwardly built thing, much as she had seen through Piroeth's eyes when they had communicated when she was trying to help A'rys out of the corridor. But he wasn't ugly. The more she looked at him, the more his top-heavy build seemed to grow on her. She turned her gaze again to the larger rider, and with a grin added, 'He's lovely.' Piroeth gave a soft grunt in agreement.
Then the rider blushed. Malin pretended not to notice. It was always better to pretend not to notice such signs of embarrassment when dealing with such dreadfully shy people, the short-haired woman had discovered. So she listened and looked calmly into his eyes as though they were having a conversation that would not warrant any timidness or nervousness. 'You c-can help me a-actually I uh.. You s-see I d-didn't bring any of m-my medicine with me and..m-my leg acts up w-when I t-t-ravel a lot.' Well, that explained the cane, the limp, and the lack of balance.
Malin was about to suggest helping him to the infirmary when suddenly the black chipped in again. 'Come to Weyr you should Pinklady, show you shinies, like shinies do you?' She giggled, thrilled by his enthusiasm. Perhaps the dragon spoke for his rider? Well, if he did, A'rys was hiding it. The pinkrider watched with amusement as he attempted to proscribe Grigi from such "indecent" behavior. She fought hard to keep from laughing again as he called her and Piroeth "ladies". Such a gentleman! Yet it only showed how little he knew her. If he knew that she had merely transferred here to break the heart of a weyrmate and separate Piroeth from the one she had been infatuated with, would he think so kindly of her?
'Sorry? Why sorry? It sounds like a splendid idea!' Mal replied, her voice mirroring Grigi's excitement. She nearly jumped from where she stood, crossing the rest of the distance to A'rys to grab his arm affectionately. Part of this was Malin being typical Malin. She was a touchy-feely sort of person, she couldn't help it. What many people misconstrued as flirting was just her way of socializing and being friendly with those around her. Yet, another part of her liked the feel of the strong muscles in his biceps beneath her much smaller hand. He wasn't a beautiful sight to look at, but those arms were incredible! Was the rest of him as well built as his arm, she wondered. But she was getting side-tracked. He had a good heart. She wished to be nice to him and show him that she liked him.
'Of course! We would love to see your shinies, Grigorith!' Piroeth chimed in as usual, her tail twitching with delight and her mental voice bright and airy.

Grigorith cast a knowing look at his rider and for a moment A'rys had that feeling of double vision that meant he was being shown something his dragon saw, or at leas the emotional version of it. He frowned at him almost aiming a stubborn sullen kick at the dragons side till he stopped it and let a long drawn out amused snort at his riders discomfort. They didn't need words the heady feeling of 'ha ha look what I did' was obvious and the dragon was quite pleased with himself. Call him a social buterfly!(dragon) he clearly deserved it already making friends. He was quite fair pleased with himself.
A'rys gave a surprised little noise in the back of his throat as he was grabbed. Normally not a flirtatious man because come on who could flirt with a stutter, he was unsure how to react to her touching him. When he realized she meant no harm and Grigorith hadn't even reacted at all to the grab which was a surprise in itself, the man smiled tentatively down at her. He wasn't use to pretty young women even paying attention to him let alone giggling at him like that it was a bit unnerving in itself. Surely she had better things to do then follow him to his weyr to look at Grigorith's things!
Not Shut it dragon or Ill tell the pink girl you sleep with a teddy bear Grigi' turned his head about to cast a look at his rider that could have melted rock though A'rys ignored it. He did his best to ignore the images being cast at him as well pictures of himself in rather tight uncomfortable places and doing something anatomically impossible with what looked like a firelizard or a wher he was never sure which when it came to Grigi's fantasies.
"Well c-can't be a b-b-ad host I guess." He gave her a shy smile mounting up on his dragon and motioning towards where the weyrs were. "We j-just got settled and his l-ledge should be big enough for them both. N-not to say you are big." He bowed his head kindly to the pink smiling. "You are b-beautifully made of course m'dear Lady." A snort from below him and he kneed Grigorith in the side the dragon snapping his jaws together with an amused half whistle-snort.
Silly Mine is, bad flirtflirt. Tell him always fly females, I does, should let them fly you for onceHe piped up to Piroeth giving her a whirling look of interest before he took off hovering and leading the slow way towards his ledge. He landed as delicately as his weight would allow pushing his rider off. He made sure the man was fine, though on his ass, before he went over to his rather impressive pile of things. It was a good size large enough for him to lay on things like scraps of clothes, toys tinkered objects, egg shells and knives of all type as well as rocks. All of them 'beautiful' by his standards. He nudged his pile for a moment gurgling to himself till he pulled out a pink egg shell and waved it at Piroeth.
Lost piece see? Same color!

Malin relinquished her affectionate hold on him as he moved to mount his oddly proportioned black dragon. She couldn't help but marvel at them both every time she looked at them... their shock and awe effect hadn't quite warn off on her. They really were odd. Like, seriously... but in an increasingly adorable way. Despite their awkward appearances and idiosyncrasies, behind them lay the usual tag-team, half-joking argumentation that was the basis of every dragon-rider pair. It was sort of... well, she couldn't think of a way to describe it. So she just giggled and grinned like a girl (which she was, by all rights) and bolted back to bound into the familiar neckridge atop her beloved Piroeth.
The pink dragon beamed at the compliment, tilting her head as if in false modesty. She was entertained by these two. They were fun! Not to mention so very nice, once you got past the black one's temper. Perhaps they could be friends! Piroeth mused over the idea pleasantly. She would very much like to see more of these funny beings. True you are, Grigorith! Piroeth responded with a pleasant hum of amusement. Humans sure were silly. It befuddled her how so many acted so oddly to simple signs of affection. As the black took off, she was right at his heels. Always a daredevil, she flew closer to him than really was necessary.
When they got to the ledge, Malin quickly hopped off to assist A'rys yet again to his feet. The poor man. One minute his dragon was enraged by someone having knocked him over accidentally, and the next that same dragon was doing the same thing to him (only on purpose)! She chuckled lightly, quickly spanning the distance to the blackrider and offering again her assistance in getting off of the ground. Would he always be falling for her to endlessly come to his rescue? The thought brought a still wider smile to her countenance. 'Well, at least he's enthusiastic!' She offered as a comforting thought, trying to hold back the giggles that kept wanting to break forth.
Piroeth, on the other hand, was as always engrossed in the antics of the dragon before her. She peered in, not one to respect personal space, and watched with great curiosity as Grigi shuffled through the largest pile of insignificant things she ever saw. She almost lost interest when all of a sudden he pulled out... was it supposed to be an egg shell. She snorted in surprise. 'Lost piece see? Same color!' The delicate pink arched her neck over to him, sniffing the shell gingerly as if deciding what to make of it. 'Lost piece?' She asked in confusion, tilting her head slightly like a canine trying to understand human speech.
'Hey! Lookie there, Piro!' Malin exclaimed as she marked that, indeed, it was exactly the same shade as her beloved lifepartner. However, as close in shade as it was, it clearly was NOT something that came off of the small pink. The only mass Piroeth had lost was a bit of the top layer of her hide during one of her mating flights, which had left her with darker pink stripes on either side. 'What is he doing? Am I supposed to take it?' The pink dragon discretely asked her rider, somewhat confused. 'He thinks it fell off of you, silly. He's trying to give it back.'
'But... I'm not missing a piece. At least, I don't think so.' Piroeth turned her neck about to look herself over to see that she was still in one piece. 'And I don't have eggs.' The last statement was somewhat one of pride for Piroeth. She never had to worry about being egg-heavy. She was always ready for action and excitement. Nor did she have to brood over a clutch for days on end. What a dull way to spend one's time!
'It is very... nice...' Piroeth replied to Grigorith, sniffing the piece yet again. 'Where did you find it?'
