It was rather late in the morning when Avalle was woken by a sharp pain in her foot. The blankets and furs had shifted during the night, leaving her left foot exposed for an attack from her orange and cream kitten. The brunette sat up and rubbed her eyes, picking up the cat and holding him in her lap. She yawned again and looked out across her personal weyr. Callistath was awake, and over in a distant corner of her room Yulari crooned over her eggs. She'd chosen to clutch in Avalle's weyr for obvious reasons... she never wanted to be too far from Hers, and she didn't want to ever leave her eggs... so it seemed like a happy medium. Avalle had filled a small box with sand for the three eggs.
The first egg on the left was quite vibrant. It had splashes of greens, reds and blues all over, like someone had attacked it with paints. It was the largest of the three, and quite obviously. The second one was a dark shade of purple that faded to lavender at the top. It was the middle sized egg, though it was so similar in size to the third egg that there really wasn't much distinguishing in size between them. The third one was a pale yellow, similar to the color of Yulari's own hide. This egg was the smallest of the trio, and tucked in between the other two. Yulari kept a constant watch over her eggs, crooning and adjusting them as she saw fit. Even Callistath had taken a liking to the eggs and would help Yulari move them when she felt they were too close to the sun or too far in the shade.
But it was time for them to hatch. Avalle sat on her bed petting Maris for a few moments before Yulari began fret and eventually start humming. Avalle blinked a few times and looked over at the eggs. ...I think they're hatching, she said to Callistath. They are. Get changed, you will look decent for the potential Impressors, Callistath's words sounded very much like an order, and Avalle yawned again. Yeah, yeah... it's too early for anyone to want firelizards anyway, they're gonna end up going wild.... But she pat Maris once on the head, lifted him up and put him on her bed as she went to get changed. It's only early for you. You need to change your sleeping schedule. Callistath continued scolding. Avalle ignored her. It took less than five minutes for Avalle to change out of her sleeping clothes. She walked over to the little box filled with sand and knelt down near it. Yulari crooned happily at her, she seemed very proud of her little clutch. She hummed louder. Mine has a firelizard clutch in her weyr. Anyone who wishes to Impress one should come here immediately. Callistath announced as Avalle watched the eggs shake around. The yellow egg was already starting to crack. Avalle really didn't want to see the little flitters go wild... or potentially even worse, she didn't want them to Impress to her. She already had enough on her hands dealing with a kitten... she didn't need three new firelizards. Maris bounded over to try and join Yulari and Avalle, but was swatted away by the Yellow. She liked him, but she didn't want him near her eggs. The kitten went over to bother Callistath instead. Avalle yawned again and sat down next to the eggs. People should be arriving any minute now... or at least, they'd better be.[/blockquote]

Rhyolith raised her head to Callistath`s call. The Cyan had been resting in her weyr with her Mine and his little Fire Lizard. So, Mine`s special`s Fire Lizard Clutched, and the eggs are about to Hatch, she thought to herself. She stood up and seemed to stretch herself out like a cat as she turned her head toward O`ris and Lira. Mine, a Fire Lizard`s eggs are about to Hatch and be born into this world, she said, speaking with love and devotion to her Mine with sincerest meaning. O`ris looked up from where he sat, stroking Lira with an absent-mind, and stared at Rhyolith. I do not need another Fire Lizard. Lira would attack me for such a thought. Besides, I like it being just the three of us. And, maybe soon, there will be... Rhyolith crooned lightly to the young man. That is why we must go to the Hatching. The Fire Lizard belongs to Callistath`s Mine. And your little Fire Lizard and hers are best friends. We should go. After all, Callistath`s Mine came to Lira`s little Clutch Hatching, she said, speaking with persuasion.
But O`ris did not need much persuasion. Just hearing that it was Avalle`s Fire Lizard was enough for him. He quickly stood up and grabbed his jacket. On the side of the jacket was a patch that had been recently stitched in which had brought shock to the young man. He had been promoted to Wingsecond of Dawn Wing which was led by the Sr. Weyrleader. It had been a rather huge shock to be chosen, but he had accepted it with honor and was determined to to do the best he could. As for Rhyolith, the Cyan had been very proud of Hers and had quickly accepted her position, wanting to bring glory to the Cyan name and show how wonderful Cyan dragons were to Pern. And maybe now they will sing songs about us, she had teased O`ris, which had almost made him blush with embarrassment. He could not wait to have a Wing practice and to prove to O`sho that was deserving of the position.
He walked out the door with Lira in tow. Rhyolith had, in the end, opted to stay in their weyr. There was not a need for too many dragons in Avalle`s weyr at the moment. But he hoped that once things started getting further with Avalle that they could figure something out for both of them. He smiled to himself when he thought of Avalle. The young woman always made him smile and feel good about everything. And Lira was rather excited about the idea of seeing her best friend again. The Green missed the Yellow dearly and wanted to see her again. And now that Yulari had her own Clutch, Lira`s protection extended to those eggs as if they were her own. Yulari had helped her defend her Clutch, so maybe Yulari would extend the gratitude and allow Lira to help too! They arrived in the weyr and O`ris smiled wider at Avalle. She was so beautiful, but he dare not say it right now with the possible Fire Lizard Impressors on their way and they over-hearing O`ris say that to her. He would wait. As for Lira, she quickly flew over to Yulari, but kept some distance incase Yualri denied her, and chirped a grand congratulations to the Yellow.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jabberwock heard the call of the great Queen dragon. The eggs that he had helped sire were Hatching now! He quickly stood up from where he slept next to Luna and spread his wings. He flapped them and let them carry him up in the air, out the window, on the wind, and toward Avalle`s weyr. Once he entered the weyr, he chirped in greetings to Yulari, and crooned happily at the sight of the eggs. They were just gorgeous. And there was one egg there that looked very similar to Yulari. Yulari was a goddess in Jabberwock`s eyes, and seeing these eggs made him proud to have been Yulari`s mate in this Flight. To have a chance to help sire a goddess` eggs was an amazing honor! He crooned some more, taking his spot near Yulari, but allowing some distance, knowing how protective his goddess had to be of her eggs. And he understood. After all, he did not want the eggs damaged or hurt at all. They had to live so they could Hatch into the goddess` children and spread as much joy and kindness as their mother did and does.
Baharl was not typically an early riser. Perhaps in the days of her childhood she used to wake up disgustingly early, and think in fact that she had slept quite late. But in her more recent turns before arriving to Dalibor, she had slept late and often. Of course, that kind of laziness wasn't something an responsible person would do, was it? And since Dalibor was the beginning of her adult and responsible life, she had figured it might be best to change her habits. Before at least, the possibility of a Wher changed her sleeping schedule forever. So, since arriving, she had taken to waking up at a reasonable hour, and taking leisurely walks around the Weyr to familiarize herself with her new home. She'd been here a week or so now, and it felt good to get the lay of the land, and recognize faces.
She had just come from the Kitchens which was her usual pit-stop every morning, much to the dismay of a particular Baker. Cradled in her arm as though it were baby was a small woven basket almost overloaded with breakfast goods, such as a combination of sweet and savory pastries. The blond was devouring these slowly but steadily as she resumed her walk, when she heard the distinct humming of a Dragon. She had lived in High Reaches Weyr long enough to know what that meant, and as if in conformation a queenly voice spoke. Not Dragon or Wher eggs, but Firelizards. Those tiny cunning, and devilishly adorable miniature creatures.
Her icy blue eyes glanced around to see if anyone else was responding to this call, and she chewed lazily on a meat pie. Should she go Impress one? Maybe, she thought that she stood a good chance. She was a Wher Candidate after all, and if a Dragon thought she could be entrusted to take care of a Wher, she imagined she would be just as good with a Firelizard. Plus, she could always use more friends here at Dalibor. It wasn't that she was particularly lonely or anything, she just observed that she hadn't made as many friends as immediately as she would have liked. Well, there was Zeis, he was a friend, and the people she spoke to routinely on her walks and in the dining hall... but... She hadn't made any *close* friends. The girl had been unsuccessful in finding a room mate even, and was left with an empty bed next to hers for company. You couldn't get a more close friend than a Draconic creature if you searched all of Pern. Not too hard of a decision.
So she spun on her heels and started resolutely toward the humming, resuming her steady attack on her breakfast. As she walked, she reasoned further with herself as to why this couldn't be anything but a great idea. Reasoning and forethought was what responsibly adults did, wasn't it? There was always a chance, however infinitely small, that perhaps she wouldn't Impress a Wher when her time came. It was unlikely, but it could happen. She had overheard other Candidates anxieties about being left standing, and she wasn't going to feel that way, not at all. Even if she didn't get a Wher, she would still have a Firelizard to take care of. In the company of such a creature, who could feel disappointment? And when she finally got a Wher, the more the merrier, right?
"Right." Baharl confirmed as she rounded a corner, and a moment later arrived at the source of the humming. She poked her head into the rider's weyr to make sure it was the right place, and was greeted by the sight of the magnificent Gold queen. She had never seen any of the larger Dragons up close before, and on top of that there were the little eggs. She had never seen eggs before either. "Wow..."
She cleared her throat, and stepped inside with a friendly smile. Her eyes tore themselves away from the Draconic creature and eggs to look to Avalle, and the little Yellow Firelizard which was apparently the mother. Her eyes glittered with excitement, and she bowed to the three of them as she had heard you were supposed to do. The movement was a little unpracticed, as this was her first Hatching or any sort.
"I would be honored to Impress one of your children." She said respectfully to Yulari. Baharl knew Firelizards didn't need to Impress, and she wasn't sure if the Yellow mother her self felt she required a greeting. She may have not been a Queen, but she was still a mother and Baharl believed strongly that mothers deserved respect.
Krysthanine had been anticipating this day for a while now. She had been one of the people to watch the firelizards shoot away from the Weyr, dancing about in the sky. And now, as the slight hum and the call from Callistath, she knew that today was the day. Tripping on her furs as she grabbed a deep blue tunic and white leggings, her mind was buzzing with the upcoming arrival of three little mini-dragons. Oh, I wonder who’s going to get lucky! she wondered as she pulled the leggings on and pelted from her room. She has been at Dalibor long enough for her calloused feet to get used to the tough earth, and for the many Riders and Handlers to get a grip on her spastic nature. Skittering around a corner to the appropriate corridor, the girl nearly slammed into Baharl as she barreled towards Avalle’s cot.
”Oh, I’m sorry! Just trying to get to the Hatching, is all!” she apologized, brushing her smooth acorn hair from her view. A broad grin was plastered on Krysthanine’s face, but why wouldn’t there? A Hatching was about to start! Inching her way into the cot, she gave a slight wave to Avalle, and stood patiently in front of the box with a happy Yulari, a proud Jabberwock, and enthusiastic Lira, and three gorgeous eggs lay. The largest one caught her attention the most, with its splattered pattern and large size compared to the other two. She tried to think of what beauty is lying in wait behind that shell.
Avalle glanced up as O'ris arrived and smiled broadly, waving him over. She was rather happy that O'ris had decided to come, as she didn't want to sit around by herself and watch people Impress Yulari's children. Not that it wouldn't have been fun or anything... but she was always glad for company, even if she didn't say it outloud. "You don't have to be so reserved," she said with a shrug, patting the empty space next to her so he could sit down. There wasn't anyone around yet, so Avalle had nothing to feel embarassed about. Besides... she was allowed to talk to her friends... even if they might be a little more than just that. She'd just never do anything like that in public.
Yulari cheered up considerably when Lira came closer, and chirped happily at her Green friend, indicating that she was allowed to come as close as she wanted to. Yulari trusted that Lira would not hurt her eggs, and while she was quite the protective mother, she still loved her friends. As Jabberwock approached as well, she gave a soft croon and twirled her long tail around him, pulling him closer to her as well. He had fathered the eggs! He did not have to be so distant from her.
As soon as the first Impressor came in, a Candidate, probably, Avalle's smile faltered a little, but she still welcomed the other girl into her room. At least she was respectful. That was good. It is good, Callistath agreed. They were both probably thinking the same thing, that this was like practice for when Callistath eventually clutched. You know, see how Avalle could deal with strangers poking their grubby little hands all around her eggs. Er, Yulari's eggs. But she didn't mind, and only nodded distractedly. She glanced at O'ris, then decided to pay more attention to the eggs. She suddenly felt rather shy.... The next girl got a very obvious frown from Avalle, and even Yulari gave a little chirp of surprise when the girl almost ran into the other one. She was... clumsy. She looked it, at least. Thankfully she hadn't actually fallen though, or Avalle's temper probably would have snapped. You must keep your temper in check, Callistath scolded, Ladies do not snap at others. Control yourself. Avalle pouted slightly. At least she was the only one to hear Callistath's scoldings.... The eggs shook slightly for a few more moments before the pale yellow egg started to splinter into cracks. Pieces of the shell fell off bit by bit as the little firelizard inside worked its way out of the egg. At certain times it would seem to stop, as though the firelizard inside had gotten distracted, but then it would start piecing off again until, finally, a lightly colored Pink emerged out of the shell. She looked around curiously, blinking slowly at those around her. Oh, my! Those two-legged things were rather big. The Pink turned around in a circle, inspecting everything around her. Everything was just so much bigger than she was! How odd. While the Pink was curiously looking around, the purple gradient egg that had been next to hers began to shake violently. It shook and shook and shook, but the firelizard inside couldn't escape it's prison. The Pink looked curiously over at the purple egg, going over to inspect it. She poked it with her nose, which caused the egg to shake even more violently. Its movements were sporadic, but still no cracks appeared on the egg. The Pink got bored with inspecting the purple egg and instead moved her attention over to the splotched egg. As the Pink moved away, the purple egg finally managed to break open in a rather violent explosion. Tumbling out of the eggshells was a Blue. He was a deep shade of sky blue, and he looked extremely frantic. The flitter spun around in a panic, barreling completely into the Pink. The Pink gave a chirp of surprise, but the Blue immediately jumped off of her. She stood up slowly, tilting her head curiously at her. The Blue began pushing the Pink away from the splotched egg and towards the Candidates. But the Pink stepped to the side, causing the Blue to tumble forwards. The Pink wandered off in the other direction, back towards the eggs, but the Blue continued rolling forwards until he ran into someone's legs. That someone happened to be Krysthanine. He looked up at her and blinked once, then chirped repeatedly and started jumping in the air. He really, really, really wanted to reach her! But he couldn't fly yet. So he jumped more, his wings uselessly flopping around as he tried to reach Krysthanine. ~~~ Blue; 0078D8; panicky, nervous, spazztic[/blockquote]
Baharl had just turned her attention from making her respects to the little eggs themselves when someone nearly crashed into her. She jumped slightly and turned around to get a look at Krysthanine, who looked familiar. Wasn't she hanging around that boy with the pastries the day she had arrived at Dalibor? She restrained her curiosity for the time being, as this wasn't exactly the place to make idle conversation. Instead, she waved off the apology with a friendly grin, and turned her attention back on the shaking eggs.
Her eyes widened as one of the eggs hatched. How marvelous a thing was that? Sure, the little Pink may have been covered in goop and bits of eggshell but... It was the miracle of life she was witnessing here. She beamed down at the little creature as she investigated the other eggs, and felt a measure of pride that she was here for these eggs first moments. Perhaps it was a silly thing to take pride in, with eggs of all kinds being hatched in Weyrs every season, but this was her first ever. And it was a great feeling, too!
Baharl's attention switched to the second egg, and the hatching of the Blue, who promptly crashed into the pink and started minor havoc. She let out the start of a laugh, before she realized it was probably better to stay quiet unless she scared the hatchlings. Hurriedly, she put one hand over her mouth and with some difficulty stifled the rest of her laughter. Now wasn't the time. This was supposed to be serious. Probably. She had to make a good first impression for her... first impression? She grinned a bit wider.
The twitchy blue soon seemed to take an interest in Krysthanine, and Baharl grinned even wider. Good for her! It seemed fitting that the clumsy little lizard went to well... a clumsy girl! She was unsure whether or not to clap, or if any congratulations should be given. So she settled for a congratulatory pat on the shoulder, and shot the girl a wink.
As Avalle frowned at Krysthanine, her face flushed a slight crimson. Maybe she shouldn’t have been so excited. Note to self. Don’t run around like a maniac so much, she reminded herself, and gave a small smile in apology. Her attention was taken from the Gold Rider to Yulari and her little posse. One Green, one Bronze. Apparently, one of them was the sire to these eggs. Smoothing her hair briefly, she watched as Yulari happily chirped for the two of them to come over, and they happily obliging.
Just as the three huddled together, the yellow egg splintered to bits, revealing the pastel pink inside. She turned around and around, seeming awestruck by her surroundings. The gradient-colored began to shake about, and the Pink became distracted by the throbbing kin. She nudged the egg, which caused it to flail about even more. The young flitter became distracted by the larger of the eggs, and passed by right before the purple egg exploded to reveal a blue. He was a very deep sky-blue, almost evening blue. More of an afternoon color. A smile crept upon Krysthanine’s face as he crashed into his Pink sister, much like how she crashed into the other potential Impresser. The male quickly got off, and shoved the female towards them. She refused, though, and moved out of the way to send the Blue slamming-
Into her legs. She looked down, a look of sheer surprise freezing her. Her features softened as the Blue jumped and chirped, apparently trying to get to her. Her legs at that moment decided to move, causing her to drop into a seated position on the floor, the firelizard suddenly in her lap and chirruping. She smiled, and rummaged in her bag that hung from her tunic’s belt. Snatching up a small bit of semi cooked meat, she offered it to the vocal Blue. He graciously took it, and immediately jumped when she let out a slight giggle. ”You’re quite the nervous one, huh?” she crooned, stroking his head until he calmed. ”How about… Whiting? That sounds like a good name.” The firelizard trilled his acknowledgment, and proceeded to nip her fingers until she gave him some more food.
J'kan was quite honestly surprised when Hath relayed the news that a firelizard clutch was hatching, given that the brown loathed the flitters so much. Lazing about in his own personal weyr, wondering where F'del was and what he was up to, J'kan gave a start as Hath blasted into his mind.
There is a firelizard clutch hatching, Mine. Avalle's Yulari. Do not go.
J'kan knew the brown hated the flitters, but felt a bit curious none the less. Shoving his bare feet into his boots, the young man hunted about for a tunic and clothes that wouldn't embarrass him before he headed over to the hatching.
He didn't really want a firelizard, since Hath disliked them so much... but his curiosity got the better of him. When he entered Avalle's personal weyr, he was surprised to see only two other candidates. Raising his eyebrows, the brownrider gave them a quick glance. It looked like one had already Impressed... he thought her name was Krysthanine, but he couldn't be sure, since he still hadn't learned everyone's names.
Avalle, he knew from sight, if not by name. After all, she was Junior Weyrwoman! Nodding to her, he grinned. "My curiosity got the better of me," he admitted with a shrug before turning back to the other "candidate." He wasn't sure who this one was, but he was almost sure that she was an actual candidate for dragon Impression.
Of course, he could be wrong.
Looking away from the people, he concentrated on the remaining egg. It didn't appear to be moving much. Would it be a dud? J'kan hoped not. He hated seeing even a flitter die before it got a chance to live. The Pink, however, was still flopping around, trying to find hers.
The last person to enter (and thank Faranth too... Avalle didn't want to end up accidently Impressing another firelizard) was J'kan, a Brownrider she vaguely knew. That could probably be said for most people of the Weyr, though. She felt a small twitch of a smile upturn her mouth slightly, and nodded. "Firelizards are good things to be curious about," she said simply, and looked back at the eggs, watching as the Pink continued to wander around by herself. The larger egg was starting to make her a bit nervous... it hadn't moved in a while. It would kill her if any of Yulari's eggs ended up being duds....
But Yulari didn't seem nervous about it at all. She merely curled closer to Jabberwock, watching the egg with the patient eyes of a mother. It took a few more minutes, but eventually the larger, splotched egg began to crack. It appeared to be cracking without even shaking, though when watched carefully, one would see that the egg was shaking... just very slowly. In any case, the egg took its sweet time in breaking apart, but it did in a split crack down the center. Out of the egg stepped a lightly colored, almost lavender Purple. He looked around and blinked at the world, confused. Tall things! Eggshells! Pinksister! Ooh... Pinksister.
The Purple immediately slid over to the Pink, who jumped slightly at the Purple's sudden appearance. She looked him over carefully, admiring his very solid, rather pretty lavender shade, before growing bored and turning to walk back towards the Candidates. But the Purple didn't want her to leave, and cheerfully hopped (yes, hopped) in front of her to stop her from leaving. The Pink didn't seem angry at this, she merely tilted her head in curiosity, her whirling eyes beginning to fill more with curiosity than the usual red of hunger.
Glad to see that she was interested, the Purple began to push the Pink to the splintered shell of her own egg, which, out of the three of them, had split into the most pieces. He began to push the pieces together again to make a sort of strange mosaic for the Pink. He was smart, sure. But smart in all the wrong places. The Pink stared at him some more, her eyes whirling, but she soon had enough of his eccentric little antics. She'd been on the "sands" for such a long time now! And she was rather hungry. So please excuse her, but she really had to be going....
The red returned to her eyes as the Pink moved slowly towards the two remaining "Candidates". They would have food for her, right? She looked from one tall thing to the other tall thing, not sure which way she should go. One smelled like food... but one... smelled interesting. Strange. She tilted her head to the side and began to walk towards J'kan, sitting at his feet and chirping rather politely at him. She was oh so hungry... wouldn't he please feed her? Then she could go explore the world with him, right?
The Purple was quite disappointed and even a little sad that the Pink had gone off and Impressed. He had wanted to play with her some more! Boo. Now he was mad at her. Boo. He hated being mad! He liked being happy! The Purple sulked around a bit more, shifting the eggshells around in annoyance. Boo! Boo! Boo! Bad Pinksister! Bad! Well, fine! If she wanted to go off and join one of those smelly tall things, then he could too! But he wasn't going to pick her tall thing, and not the one his Blue sibling had picked either. They both smelled! He did not like them!
So the Purple walked, or really almost stomped, towards Baharl. He didn't make any noise at her like his siblings had, instead he just stared up at her expectantly. She knew what he wanted! He wanted fun things and... more fun things! Fun things were not boring. He didn't like boring. Oh, and some food would probably be nice....
After the last of the firelizards had Impressed, Avalle stood up. She glanced at O'ris, a small smile still on her face. "For those that may have forgotten... there's some extra meat here," with that, she pointed to a small bowl sitting next to the firelizard clutch that she'd been feeding to Yulari earlier. She didn't move to pick up Yulari and wrap the Yellow around her neck as usual, because she seemed to be enjoying the company of her two friends. No big deal, really. She stifled a yawn and sat back down, waiting for the new, hopefully happy firelizard owners to get out of her weyr so she could relax.
Baharl flashed a friendly grin to the man who showed up late for the last egg. She didn't recognize this man at all, and he looked a little too old to be a Candidate. He was fairly handsome too. She winked one icy blue eye at him before turning her attention back to the Firelizard hatching. The little Pink didn't seem to know exactly what to do with herself, and then finally the third and final egg hatched. A lavender Purple entered the world, and he did it with a vigor. She stifled a chuckle as the little fellow ushered his somewhat bewildered seeming clutch-mate back over the eggshells. Then he was... What, arranging them? She leaned forward a little, rocking on her toes to get a better view of the dragonets machinations.
Then it hit her, and she rocked back on her heels with a short braying laugh. The Purple was trying to put the egg back together! It looked like he almost had the right of it too, and only a few pieces seemed to be missing. She couldn't blame the little fellow, it was his first try after all. It was hard to get things right on the first try. Then the Pink disentangled herself from her more artistic brother, and wandered over toward the stranger. Baharl couldn't help but smile at her as she chirped at J'kan. What a sweet little thing. Oblivious maybe, but sweet.
That left only the Purple left on the sands. Baharl glanced back at him just in time to see him caught in the throes of what looked like a Firelizard sized temper tantrum. She snorted laughter, and hastily tried to put on a more serious face as she noticed his stomping was bringing him closer to her. She may have found it a laughing matter, but the upset little dragonet looked like he as all business after his rejection. So this was it then. The Purple and her. It looked like it felt right to the Firelizard, who was gazing up at her expectantly. It felt right to her as well, as though she had known this is how it was going to be even before the little fellow had hatched. She of course hadn't really, but she indulged herself in the fantasy of destiny.
"Hungry?" She asked conversationally, and knelt down to inspect the little Purple. "You and me both, brother." She grinned down at him, and gently picked him up. The Purple let out a little squeak of surprise and delight at the sudden unexpected dizzying change of elevation, and soon found himself plopped down on his new Mine's shoulder. From there he gaze in wonder at the world from a height he had never before seen, and his red tinged eyes locked greedily on the basket filled with meat. He turned to look at Baharl and let out an excited pipping sound. There, he wanted to go there, and get food! Onward!
Baharl laughed, and willingly followed her new charges orders. She quickly made her way to the basket and took what she thought would make a sizable first meal for the little fellow, and bowed her head once more in thanks to Avalle and Hers, Yulari and Jabberwork, before making her way out the door. She reached up and fed her newfound friend his first meal as she walked. "Eat well. You need a name, huh? Hmm.... How about... Spiral? You like that?"
She turned her head to look at him, and was acknowledged by a tiny comical sounding belch. Her eyes widened a little. He was almost already done with his food! Had he even chewed? Did draconic creatures even need to chew? With a guffaw she said, "Spiral it is. Keep eating like that and you'll give me a run for my marks."
