Avalle sat cross-legged on the floor of her large room, watching as her fluffy orange kitten darted around the room, attacking various things with his claws and inspecting others. He'd made the mistake of wandering near a relaxing Callistath a few times, and she'd batted him away with her own paw, sending the little kitten sprawling across the floor. He's just a baby. Be more gentle, she said, picking up Maris and placing him in her lap. He purred and curled closer to her. No. He has absolutely no manners. [/i] Avalle sighed. He's a cat. He can't have manners, because he doesn't understand them. I don't care. The sooner he grows up and acts like the mature, regal animal he is, the better.[/i] Callistath sounded grumpy, but that was only because this kitten was ruining her established image that felines were regal, dignified creatures... not this crazy little ball of fluff. She wanted him to grow up faster. Avalle was rather enjoying his energy, though. Just as she was about to say something else to the large, grumpy dragon, a Yellow firelizard burst out between right in front of her eyes. Avalle blinked at Yulari. She'd been gone a while. And she'd been acting strange lately. Callistath gave a slight rumble. You are so oblivious, Mine. She is Rising,[/i] the Gold informed Hers with another rumble of amusement. Callistath had known that the Yellow was going to rise for a while. Avalle sighed, but then smiled at Yulari, sending the Yellow off on her Flight with approval. The Yellow left Hers all behind and flew out of the Weyr, alighting gently on an outcropping of rock, and giving a delicate buggle, alerting all those around her that she was, indeed, flying. She was Yulari, the Yellow firelizard, and she was Flying! It'd been a while since she last few, a very, very long while, but she knew what to do. She waited, watching carefully for the ones that would chase her. But she didn't care about them. All she wanted to do was fly, fly, fly! She wanted to fly higher and higher until she was the only one left. Well... her, and the ones who followed her. Giving another, triumphant cry, Yulari jumped into the air and twirled up into the sky. It was a fairly clear day, there were a few clouds, but nothing really to get in the energetic Yellow's way. And even if there were, she'd just fly straight through them. Nothing was going to get in her way, and nothing was going to stop her! She had finally gained her own feeling of independance from Hers, and she no longer had to watch over and protect Hers. They'd both matured quite a lot since Dalibor, and it only made sense that Yulari would rise now. She called out again, daring those, who wanted to, of course, to come chase her. She circled, then flew straight up into the sky.[/blockquote][/size]

He hiccuped. Oh, he didn't feel very good. His head felt funny. He couldn't walk straight. Somehow, though, despite feeling so weird, he still felt... happy. Happy? Why? He didn't get it. He wasn't sure he wanted to get it, though. He didn't care. It took too much effort to think about! Perhaps it had something to do with what His had given him. It had tasted funny, really funny, like fruit left out on the counter way too long. Yet, oddly, he liked it. How very strange.
"Oh, Andryyyyy," Cleo drawled. "I think you had too much!" He flopped onto his belly on Cleo's desk. She was laughing at him. He chirped at her, hiccuped again, and lazily closed his eyes. Strange... so strange. Did people normally like this? Humans were strange, so they probably did. He rolled over, thinking about it... sort of. His thoughts couldn't stay on one thing for too long.
Then he sat up straight with a start.
"Andry?" Cleo blinked. "You alright, kiddo?"
With immense effort, Andry flapped his wings and raised his chubby self into the air. He had to go now. A pretty lady was Rising! She was calling to him! Nevermind women being stupid, annoying things - he would chase her! Why? Because he felt like it! And shells, he'd do what he felt like doing! He trill-hiccup-ed, and disappeared between, leaving Cleo to wonder. When he reappeared, he was in the air, and he saw her, the pretty yellow. She looked like sunshine! Or... or butter! Butter tasted good.
Giving a deep firelizard bugle, he flew ungainly after her, wobbling in the air. He wasn't all to good at flying on a normal day. Drunk? Even worse. But no matter! He'd chase her! Why? Because he could!
And then he'd have a nap after. [/blockquote]

The call of the Yellow was so enticing for the Bronze who had stayed behind in the backgrounds of Luna`s weyr. The Bronze felt very upset that Luna had failed to introduce him to her people and had scolded her thus. He was a proud Bronze in a sense that he loved to be showed off by his Mine. His Mine was an excellent woman with an excellent Green Dragon and with an adoring Bronze. He was fierce and mighty, just as his name suggested, even it Pern people did not understand what his name meant. But he was a Bronze! That was all that there was to it! And he would fly into the skies after this beautiful Yellow who called this Weyr her home. It was his home too, now, and already he could feel the thrills of excitement and adventure run through his little body. He bugled in a way that a Fire Lizard could and stretched his wings out, letting them lift him into the air and off in the direction of the calling Yellow. This Yellow was very beautiful and bright, a good combination for any Fire Lizard. It meant that his attention would never stray from her. At the same time of thinking that, he thought that it also meant other Fire Lizard`s attentions would never stray from her.
Jabberwock was this Bronze`s name. He was a mighty Fire Lizard, strong, brave, enduring. He looked around himself and noticed that only a Brown chased so far. And the Brown looked very... odd. Not in appearance, no, but in the way he acted. He wobbled, he his wings cause him to stray for a few seconds, his eyes seemed unable to stay pinned on Yulari. What was wrong with this Brown to cause him to act such a way? He was a Brown! He was a sub-King Fire Lizard! He was suppose to act noble in thanks for the rank he had been born into. And here he was, flying after Yulari, in a mix between seriousness and not so seriousness. Jabberwock almost felt sorry, like he should take this poor Brown out of the Flight to end his shame. What kind of a Fire Lizard entered a Flight like this! They should be full of pride and joy for chasing such a marvelous queen such as Yulari. But, rather, this was a disgrace, and it only urge and charged Jabberwock`s feelings to try harder for this Yellow so she would not make the wrong decision.
After his brief glance and small mental thinking of the Brown, he turned his purple lust eyes on the radiant Yulari that flew ahead of him. She was beautiful, fair, strong, and just perfect! She was Risisng now and only she mattered. She bugled aloud, calling to others to come and chase her. Jabberwock answered her bugles with a croon to her that said, "Here I am! Do not forget me! I am your suitor in this Chase, dear and glorious Yellow Queen!" Oh cursed was the day that Yellows were born and not declared Queens! They should be able to hold rank with Queens! Ah, but rather, they were born much rarer than Queens themselves. In Jabberwock`s eyes, that made Yulari above Queen level. She was not a Queen! She was a goddess! His song slightly changed to meet his mind`s demands. She was a Yellow goddess in the skies of Pern, unattainable until she chose her mate for this Flight. He crooned and flapped his wings, trying to bring himself ahead of Andry and into the view of this Yellow that was above all of Pern.
(( Flare will not be joining the Flight after all, I am sorry. But I got Jabberwock out. Sorry it took so long. ))

The turnout really wasn't all that bad, Yulari had to reason. A Bronze and a Brown, no matter how... strange he seemed to be flying. But he was funny, so she allowed him to stay. Everyone could always use a bit of humor... even if this wasn't really the right place. But Yulari didn't care. The Bronze was, well, he was a Bronze. And he'd prove himself like all other Bronzes did in Flights. She circled once more and shot off in a different direction, stopping her vertical climb. She flew sideways away from the Weyr, keeping her eye on the two suitors as she flew. She wasn't so arrogant as to keep chirping and making noises like a Queen, because she wasn't, and she didn't really care to be.
She gave a heartfelt croon of encouragement to the suitors and then folded her wings and fell. It wasn't a dramatic drop, as she was falling rather slowly and almost lazily. She wasn't tired yet, she was just taking her time. And it wasn't really her turn to show off, it was theirs, so she would let them. And if they chose to just follow her line of flight, then, well, she'd just have to start doing something a bit more drastic. She was perfectly capable of it.
After falling lazily for a little while and watching the other two, she unfolded her wings and started a vertical climb again, though she cut off her climb rather early to perform some corkscrews of her own... she wasn't arrogant, but she was a good flier, and what was a better time to show off? She slowed to a stop, and spun around quickly, moving back to inspect the other two. The Brown was definitely drunk. Or whatever word firelizards called drunk, he was drunk. Her's wasn't a drinker, so Yulari had no real experience with drunkeness... She wasn't entirely sure what to make of it. Well, he was... certainly interesting, that's for sure.
But while the Brown was interesting, the Bronze was strong and could easily keep up with her airy movements. He seemed young and devoted. He had crooned to her rather than bugled, so he had to be... sweet. She liked sweet. But in the end she wasn't quite ready to settle for either of them yet, and flew past them both, changing her course so she flew back over the Weyr. She skimmed the skyline just under some of the fluffy, lower-flying clouds. She still wasn't tired, and the suitors still had to prove themselves. She crooned her encouragement once more and continued back towards the Weyr. [/size]

There was another male, now. Another male after his pretty butter girl? Oh, no! It was a bronze! Stupid bronzes, they thought they were the best things ever. Wait, though... He was basically a bronze himself, wasn't he? Yes, yes he was. He was sooo smart! And, he figured, if he took his weight and spread it out so he wasn't as round as he was well-proportioned... Yes, he'd be as big as a bronze! Maybe not a largely impressive bronze, but a small one, and a bronze nonetheless.
Courage bolstered, Andry cheerily called out to Yulari. 'I'm here, too! I'm the best brown there ever was!' it said. Something along those lines, at least. It definitely wasn't normal for Andry to be so self-confident, but there you have it - the 'magic' of alcohol. He called out again, still following, despite his wobbling. He was getting used to it, now - the wobbling and the blurry sky. He wasn't used to flying much anyways, so he figured it was always like this. Wobbly. How in the world was his butter-queen so good? Shells! How lovely she was! Ohhh!
Infatuated and uninhibited, he put his all into showing this bronze who was best. (The best, by the way, was him. Of course. Andry, The Best.) As Yulari dropped, so did Andry. His weight, though, caught him a little off guard. He dropped faster and farther than he'd meant to. How strange! He didn't mean to do that! How'd that happen? Oh, well. No matter. He was Andry, The Best! He'd chase her, alright!
...You know, she also looked like a sun. Or flowers!
Wait, wait, wait! Hold on! Andry blinked, frazzled for a split second. Looking up, he saw Yulari... Was she going up again? Higher? It was hard to tell from down here. He supposed she was! Alright! Up we go! Working his wings furiously, Andry climbed, too... quite ungainly, and slow, but he managed. Gosh. This was hard! He needed to work out more! But he was too lazy to work out... Oh, what was he talking about? Pudginess and out-of-shape-ness aside, he was still the best. Andry, The Best!
He called out to his butter-flower-sunshine girl from where he was lagging behind below her. Helloooo, pretty! [/blockquote]

Jabberwock continued to croon to the lovely Yellow goddess as they took flight in the air. He could have rejoiced in pleasure at the fact that she had acknowledged him as one of her suitors! He pumped his wings harder and did a small and quick loop-de-loop in the air to let her know that he was happy. For a moment, he turned his attention to the Brown that was also in the Flight with him. The Brown was still here, he was not giving up any time soon, and the goddess Yulari was allowing him to stay. While he would have simply not let him stay in the Flight, he also did not mind the drunken Brown continuing to pursue the goddess Yellow. The fact that the Brown was here in the Chase meant a good competition, though he might have preferred the Brown to not be drunk. Oh well. What was done had been done, and nothing could be done to change that. So, giving a small chirp, he wished the Brown good luck as they continued the Flight. Jabberwock`s attention went straight back to Yulari, not wanting to make her think he was ignoring her.
She began her dive and he followed after her, tucking his wings in and following the bright and shining yellow hide of Yulari. The air rushed past him, the whistling sounds echoing in his ear, but the noise did not bother him. Flying was second nature for him, and this Flight only proved it. He continued to crooned to her, continue to profess his devotion for her, his love for her, and reminding her that this was her Flight and that she alone would choose the winner. But he hoped that he could prove himself to be a worthy suitor and mate for her Flight. She was gorgeous, more radiant than the sun, much more brighter than a Gold, and she was perfect! Golds were nice, but she was a beauty, a treasure, and any male who was chosen to be her mate in this Flight and any Flight would be a lucky Fire Lizard for twining necks with just an amazing Fire Lizard. She was graceful, kind, and sincere in her actions. She was not like a Gold. No! She was a Yellow, something far from a Gold, but better. He continued to croon to her.
The Brown seemed a little wobbly in his Flight. Was he going to quit. While any suitor would be glad to see the other quit, Jabberwock was actually hoping Andry would stay in the Flight. And the Brown was going to stay. He just seemed slightly wobbly. Jabberwock wanted him to stay. The competition, it was good for them both. And Yulari was showing off a little. Ah! She was teasing them even further even if she did not realize it. But it was good that she was teasing them. It just made Jabberwock want to pursue her the more! He added a few tricks of his own, flying slightly off to the side to do a few little loops in the air to show her his strength and abilities. And there she was, slowing down slightly. Was she going to choose her suitor? So soon? No! She was inspecting them. And off she went again, off into the air, along the skyline and lower clouds, a beautiful picture. She appeared to be at ease in this spot, that this was where she was meant to be in the world: Along the cloud line where all could see her beautiful hide and her over all gorgeous features, not to mention grace everyone with seeing just a kind being. He crooned some more. Oh, Yulari, beautiful goddess Yulari, please continue to grace us with your appearance!

It shouldn't have really been a tough choice (a drunk firelizard chasing her? Really?) but for the kind-hearted, overly compassionate Yulari, it was extremely difficult. She really did think that Andry was funny. She was glad he'd joined her Flight... it made it interesting and unique, not to mention he seemed extremely lovable. Well, pretty much anything was deemed "lovable" by the Yellow flitter, so that really didn't mean much. But anyway, still still decided that she liked him... but would she allow him to win her flight? It was a difficult decision, so Yulari kept flying.
Now the Bronze... he was different. A strong, devoted Bronze was what any female firelizard would wish for in her flight. He was sturdy and kept up with her difficult drops and movements. She liked him, too. But she noticed how he seemed to wish the Brown good luck... that was good, it meant he wasn't arrogant. Yulari slightly disliked arrogance. She would never outright hate or even dislike anything, but arrogance was annoying. She liked love, and this Bronze seemed to have a lot of that for her. She twirled a bit in an absentminded whirl, but it seemed like she was considering them a lot more now than trying to test them. The tests were over, Yulari was tired, and it was time to chose. So now she just had to decide.
She twirled around a bit more, speeding up her thinking process with a few lazy whirls and movements. It was nothing difficult, but she watched the suitors anyway, judging their movements with a careful eye as she moved ahead. Her wings began to glide more, rather than actual flapping, so it was more relaxing than actual Flight. Like they were taking a lazy flight together... but it was obviously far more than that. She continued flying farther and farther from the Weyr, occassionally turning back around to fly in the other direction, as though she was pacing. Who to chose, who to chose? She only had so much love to go around, she couldn't pick them both.
But in the end... the decision wasn't all that hard. The pale colored Yellow stopped abruptly and spun around to face the two flying after her. She first moved towards Andry, circling him once in a slow way, as to thank him for his... rather amusing antics in her Flight. But no self-respecting firelizard could ever let a drunk one win, as interesting as he had made her flight. She still felt she had to thank him though, as he had tried very hard for such a... drunk firelizard.
But the winner of all was Jabberwocky. Yulari crooned at him and wrapped herself completely around him, looping her long tail tightly around him as well. She crooned again and allowed her wings to fall. The Bronze wasn't going to let her drop, she could trust him. And she did. [/size]

There was indeed a large amount of disappointment. Confusion, at first, as she circled him and he tried his addled brains hardest to figure out what it meant, and then disappointment as she saw her leave with the bronze. It was a shortlived thing, though, and soon enough Andry had shrugged it off and betweened back to Cleo's office. Ohhh, his muscles were sore...
"Where've you been, kiddo?" Cleo asked, as the brown reappeared and plopped down on her desk. He didn't have any time to chirp a reply or send a quick picture to her. Just like that, the tuckered-out brown fell asleep, curled up.
There was his excitement quota for the next Turn. [/blockquote]
