Felicia was wandering around during her freetime, the time she usually took to visit her mother or sometimes her half brother, Jonas. She smiled as she remembered the look on Jonas' face when the whermaster had offered him the chance to impress to a wher. It sure had been a picture and she knew he'd much rather have been searched for standing to impress a dragon, yet he had accepted the whermaster's offer.
As she was walking, she thought she heard what sounded like runner hooves upon the ground. She turned round and what should she see? A beautiful palamino runner and when she took a step back, it followed her. She held out her hand and the runner lipped at it, causing her to giggle. "Hey there. Aren't you beautiful?" She said softly, wondering if it had got out of the stables.
She took off her scarf and gently laid it round the runners neck, taking hold of the two ends. "Come on. Lets get you back to the stables." She encouraged the runner by gently tugging on her scarf yet it needed no encouragement as it walked beside her. It didn't take her long to lead it to the entrance of the stable building. "Hello. Is anyone there? I have a runner I think might have got loose." She called out yet not to loudly as she didn't want to scare the runner.

I haven't got much time to waste, It's time to make my way, I'm not afraid of what I'll face.
Someone stuck their head out of one of the runner's stalls, which were located out of the actual main part of the Weyr to keep the flighty animals from being frightened by the dragons. P'nay smiled charmingly at the young woman who was standing there with a fine palomino runner. In the process of settling into his new home, he'd come to visit the stables. It made Annith sad that she could be around runners because they always got scared, so he was extending her kindness for her. Anyway, he enjoyed the company of the beasts.
"Probably bolted. They tend to do that in Weyrs. Of course, it only gets worse for them from there. None of 'em are very fond of ending up closer to a dragon than a good league;" he said to her smoothly. Stepping out towards her, he brushed off hay from his pants and shirt. He looked reasonably presentable other than that, in a sort of scruffy way at the moment; there was a bit of dirt on his face.
"I'm P'nay, rider of yellow Annith;" he introduce himself to her. He brushed off one of his hands on the back of his trousers and then extended it her as he came closer. Hearing her name mentioned through him, she perked up from where she sat, perched on the ledge of her new weyr, watching the world around her. Given the fact that she looked young (which part of him cursed), he was guessing that she was a candidate. Well, given the lack of weyrlings here, anyway.
But I'm afraid to stay, I'm going down my road and I can make it alone, I'll work and I'll fight till I find a place of my own.

"Ah. There is someone here. I thought every might have gone on a break." Felicia smiled at the male figure that had answered her call. "I found this one down by the lake. Seems rather friendly and was willing to follow me, even without me putting my scarf round it's neck." She strokes the runner's neck, feeling the soft and smooth coat under her hand. Making sure not to drop her scarf, she reached out and shook his hand. "Nice to meet you P'nay. I am Felicia, a candidate here. My mother is the head healer here." She didn't know why she gave him that extra bit of information, but decided it wouldn't hurt for him to know. "Where should I put this one? It may be willing to stand quietly but I would not want to risk it bolting again." She asked politely, hoping a dragon didn't bugle and frighten the beautiful runner.

Had a dream I could turn back time, Had to stop to rewind my memory, Had a vision of the ruby sky we were riding high, On our own pink elephant.
"Nice to meet you, Felicia;" P'nay replied charmingly once she had provided her name, using the same phrase that she had used that was simple for polite conversation. Resting his hands on his hips, he turned to look back around the stables. There weren't many runner here, new Weyr and all, plus the fact runners weren't very useful around dragons. "Any of the free stalls will do, I suppose. I don't really know were she goes. I was a born a weaver and made a rider, so runners aren't really my thing normally;" he explained with a shrug as he turned back towards her, still smiling confidently.
Reaching out with one hand again, he let the palomino runner give him a sniff and then rubbed her nose after she didn't freak at the slight musky odor of dragon on him. She certainly seemed as sweet as creature as the candidate had described her. "So, do you like being a candidate around here? I'm new here - me and Annith transferred from Frontier;" he asked her. All he really wanted to do was make conversation; he'd found company and planned on trying to make it work. Anyway, he was curious about candidate life; he enjoyed hearing about others lives, candidate or rider alike.
Had the answer on my fingertips, 'Til I lost it in the wind like a friend I'll never find, Deep in the belly is a love so thick, And I thought I had it but makes me sick now.

Felicia tilted her head, her eyes shining with curiousity as he told her he wasn't usually around runners. "Then why are you in the stables?" Her voice was filled with the same curiousity as her eyes. It was one thing to be around runners when you knew about them, but another to be with them when you knew nothing about them.
Well, he must know a bit about them if he knew to let the animal sniff him, even she knew that. "Well, it is certainly different to just living here. The chores can be tiring but I guess it helps for later, when receiving orders while fighting thread." The thought of thread sent a shiver running down her spine. She'd heard so many stories about thread and none of them nice.

Say if the lights are really low enough to play. Can you catch me when I'm fallin' down? I'll control the moment if you try to make the most of this, And could you always call me when you maybe walk away.
"Wait until you get a dragon. Then you have to both take care of a dragonet whose either itchy, hungry, or sleeping, and the third is usually when your doing the same, and chores and lesson;" he told her with a grin. He remembered his weyrling days with fondness, despite trying to scare the poor candidate a bit. At first, it had been the thrill of having Annith, and then there had been . . . people. He carefully avoided sensitive emotions and feelings, continuing to beam at her with his oh so charming smile. Of course, he could think of several people who would kill him for flirty with any of the candidates.
"And I'm out here because Annith wanted me to say 'hi' to the runners for her. Have you ever met a yellow before?" Every word about the dragoness was said with love and fondness; he would tease her for her tendencies but he could never hurt her. It wasn't like she tended to take offense from anything; she was a hard to bother dragon if anything. In the back of his mind, he could feel her hanging onto the conversation through him and eager to meet another new person if she could. Or perhaps she could go get some food . . . Or convince her rider to give her a bath. She wasn't sure.
Sometimes these things can always be so small, And sometimes you could live and I can all the time to catch this phrase and Try to make the most of this and could you maybe kiss me when we decimate the stars? And would you stay right here then I'll tell you that someone out there loves you?
