To our lovely staffers:
We, the loyal members of Dalibor Weyr, are what make this site run. Without us, this wonderful place would not exist. You would not be endlessly amused by the hypothesized C'lin/P'nay/Felicia love triangle, constantly groaning over Pratyba's epic fails, or even have the small joys of replying to our incredibly literate, amazingly awesome posts.
We rock.
And you know it.
Therefore, said members do not agree with the fact that the staffers keep secrets from us. As the force that keeps this Weyr going, we think we deserve to know about the plot, or at least enough about it to satisfy our curiosities and keep our muses up.
Besides, the characters can always be surprised!
Signed,
Showgirl

Well put, Show, to argue your point.
However, the staff fully appreciate the members here. We know you rock. We do not keep secrets from you in order to manipulate you or cause you harm. We do it to give you the most fun, exciting experience that we can. We design skins to keep the site looking fresh and fun, design plot characters thoroughly to make them interesting and engaging, design plots to keep you sitting on the edge of your seat and typing away. We decline and accept characters to make sure they work with the game and make sense. This site wouldn't be anything real out the members but it wouldn't run without the staff and we mean no harm to anyone.
So, I, Bre, vote nay to this petition.

While it is important that members know previous events, knowing the future is not so big of an issue. Especially for those who are not going to be directly involved, or at least not for some time, it is not so urgent for us to know everything that will ever happen, thereby ruining any suspense of future plots.
While a book can't gain any recognition without fans, and a play can't become a hit if no one watches, that doesn't mean everyone wants to hear the climax when they've only read the first page.
Unless a character is being directly involved in a plot, it's the same situation. Once more details become necessary to continue the roleplay, then they ought to be provided, of course. But until then it's better for the overall tone of excitement and story that everything not be revealed at once.
That is my say, at least. In short, I vote no. I would rather it be a surprise.

Umm....No wonderfully literate response to this. Kura likes to ruin surprises! She's curious and pouty! She votes yes!

Why yes, yes you do, Kura *rolls eyes* Need I mention Christmas presents and the like.....
I am casting my vote as a nay to this petition. I more than thuroughly know, as a member, the insane desire to know what the plot has in store for me, but then that's part of what makes it so interesting. How gratifying would it be if everything was spelled out for you in one quick post? There would be no sitting at the edge of your computer seat or daydreaming in class about what might come next. DRoP plots are plots because they involve supense! Don't ruin the fun.

Personally, I don't mind secrets, but I hate being totally in the dark, so I'm a bit on the fence.

As one of the crazy plotterish members, I vote members have some imput on the plot. The more minds to bounce ideas off of, the better.

I vote nay. If any of you new future events, then there would be no room for any event to happen 'naturally', like if someone knew their character would died and they tried to make it so their character cheated death. Yea, people would post their character's reactions, but that wouldn't be fun or sporradic like life is supposed to be. Whether it's on Pern or here on Earth. My brother in law's death took us all by surprise. And that is what the Admin and Mods are supposed to do in clubs, create spontaneious events that we in RL would not have any control over.
