Grescan knew there really weren't a whole lot of firelizards in the Weyr as a whole yet. And so, because he knew it, Sweep was aware of that too. It served only to annoy her greatly, because how could she spend her day tormenting the menfolk when there were so few!
With an angry trill, Sweep launched herself from Grescan's shoulder, vanishing into between to reappear in the sky about the Weyr, the morning sun glittering off of her brilliant orange hide. Her eyes whirled red as she dove, dive-bombing the buildings a few times.
Her whistling shriek pierced the air, attempting to call all attention to herself. She was supposed to be important now! And yet there were so few firelizards in the Weyr, would any of them even respond to her? Well they had better, or they would regret it!
Confident that at least one of the other firelizards within the Weyr would have heard her angry, challenging cries, she whirled and took off, flying higher upwards, catching the wind and spiraling high, turning to peer downwards.
Someone had better chase her! She deserved far better than this barren place, and the only way any of them would be spared her wrath was if she was chased! Terrible place, with almost no one to chase her! At least there were no other females that could rival her. That was a small comfort now, when she wanted a circus of males to chase her, just so she could disappoint all but one. She knew she deserved so much better!

Farewell to a bitter heart, a bitter soul, The bitter love out of control, But I could never be through with chasing you.
Fajra gritted her teeth as she heard a faint, whistling shriek outside. However, it was Afzal who most noticed the call most. The bronze sat up from his perch on a stack of papers, and then he was aloft, taking flight and zipping out into the open air of the bowl. His bonded raised her head to watch him and felt his intentions. After a moment, with her lips pursed but her expression calm, she went back to working. She was used to dragon lust. If her firelizard wanted to go off and chase after whoever, he could go right ahead; it wasn't her affair though. That was exactly what he wanted to do, and was going to do, though. A lady called!
The two turn old bronze wasn't experienced with flights but there was no one to rival him here, no one to rival a bronze. Perhaps a blue or a black about, but, as he saw the orange high above him, they couldn't match him. Confident, he caught the wind and soared upward after the beautiful lady. Quickly, he rose, eager to close the gap between the two of them and to catch her. It was his first chase. He wanted to win, to garner the attention of the orange.
To move faster, like a bolt, towards her, he flew straight up, hardly spiraling, to move directly towards Sweep. She was such an elegant creature in his eyes, with petite features, slender wings, and small legs. Such a beautiful color too, not too harsh but vibrant as well. Of course, he was a fine bronze himself, wasn't he? Growing closer, he whipped to the side to spiral after her know. His healthy metallic hide flashed brown with hints of green. His eyes swirled mainly purple, but also red and pink in his passion. Not as strong and burly as some, but his lanky build was perfect for being agile enough to keep up with the delicate females.
Either way it could only be found if I dig down, dig down, So I dig down and still at it now coming up empty handed, Only you could fill this crater I’ve dug now.

Sweep's rage was tempered when she saw the Bronze come flying into the air after her. She called to him, her eyes going purple now, anger subsiding. Maybe not many firelizards about, but a Bronze, a king, that was good. She certainly deserved a Bronze.
Though she knew already that he was her choice, as there was no other choice to be made and--what could outshine a pretty Bronze?--she was not content to immediately give into the male's advance. He would still have to win her!
She dove sharply downwards, dipping and weaving through the air, wings snapping out to let her rise back upwards, flying back over her own tail as she twisted in the air, the sun brightening her wings as she flitted across the sky, zigging and zagging to make the Bronze work for her.
She dove again after a moment of her zipping back and forth, spinning in a corkscrew down towards the ground below, then curving gracefully out of her controlled plummet, flying low along the ground, skimming across the water of the Weyrlake.

I could never count, The hours of patience, Nor how many times, I've turned away.
Afzal called back to her when she called to him, glad to see her acknowledge him in such a way. His voice wasn't overly commanding or piercing but it carried its own weight, which fit well with his build and narrow chest. It was more sweet, serenading, adoring. It showed his respect, as someone of honor, of her, who held all his attention for the time being. For the moment, his loyalty was to her; his focus was to chase her, to catch her, to win her.
When she dropped into a dive, he followed suit, folding his wings close to his back but leaving them slightly open. It gave him more control over his dive and made him spiral slightly, cutting through the air like a dagger. Closer, closer, he tried to sneak in an inch here, an inch there, to try to catch right up to the fair maiden.
Snapping his wings open just a moment after she did, he rose again and quickly turned, double back to follow her. Losing ground because of it, frustration pricked at his lust and passion. At first, he followed her as she weaved about in the air but than he cut across one of the 'V's that her flying formed. It made up that lost ground, bringing him closer to her yet, sneaking closer to her. He didn't want to disrespect her, but he wanted to display his dedication.
Again, she plummeted and, again, he followed, corkscrewing again because she was doing the same. This time though, when he came out of his dive after her, he cut it closer with her, carefully watching her to time his movements. He skimmed low, right behind her, over the water of the Weyr's lake. They hadn't gone that far yet and she was smaller, with less endurance, than her. He wasn't tired yet. He could win; he was sure of it, become more and more as time past.
Lost within this cause, That lives to taunt me, Long as I may breathe, I'll get to you one day.

She knew how close behind her he was, and she knew that he would outlast her. And so she turned from the water's surface, flying upwards, heading for the sky in a tight spiral, her tail flicking droplets of water behind her. She knew he would catch up with her in the air, as she spread her wings wide high up in the sky.
She waited for him to follow, leading just ahead of him, close enough to brush the tips of her tail across his snout as she flew, working her way higher and higher still.
At last she decided she was satisfied with this chase. He was a pretty Bronze, pretty, and it was not like she had to judge any other suitors for this flight. She turned and swept back over him, directly above him in the air, just far enough above him that their wings did not foul together.
Then she closed her wings and dropped down. Either he would catch her or she would dive and have to fly up again, but she counted on him being skilled enough to catch her.

The day I put my trust in you, Will be the day I say I do, Don't expect me just to open up, Maybe I'm just a little scared.
Afzal followed her up, beating his wing in a quick, harsh rhythm to pursue her wholeheartedly. He snorted softly as she flicked water on his muzzle with her tail but quickly focused ahead, unwilling to be distracted from the orange. It would be disrespectful; it would make him less worthy to catch, as he was going to. Who else would be there to do it when she fell? It was only him, only him who was strong enough and smart enough here to pursue her.
When she swept back over his head, he beat back with his wings, slowing him. His neck craned to watch her closely, trying to half turn to follow her wherever she was going but he couldn't judge where that was going to be. She just seemed to be hovering there, being beautiful, as he tried to follow every little motion she made.
Then she was falling, having closed her wings and dropped right by him. He crooned in concern, voice gentle as before, though he knew that it was his job to catch her. Folding his own wings, he fell after her, using his greater size to fall faster and get just below her. Then he snapped his wings open and reached out with his long legs to ling his claws with hers. Their wings tangled and they were falling together, intertwined as they tumbled from the sky.
In her weyr, Fajra looked up from her work and rubbed her forward as her firelizard's passion tried to pervade her mind and influence her. She refused to allow it and it wasn't strong enough; she pushed it back, ignored it, kept it back. However, she was disturbed from her work by the distraction, so she stood and went to take a break.
So stop falling, stop falling, You know you're falling for me, Stop falling, stop falling, Stop falling for me, yeah.

Twined in the Bronze's wings and tail, Sweep gave one trilling cry of triumph as they fell together. She was highly satisfied with that chase, even if there had been only one male--he was a good male to have for this moment, and that was enough for her. For now, the Weyr would be spared her small but potent wrath.
Grescan, in the meanwhile, was just dealing with Sweep's emotional spillover by keeping himself shut up in his room alone. Younger and not too experienced with this sort of thing, he wasn't so adept as Fajra at simply ignoring his firelizard's feelings.
