Just a couple of of day ago and several days after Kalith`s Flight, a new Rider and dragon emerged in the skies above the Dalibor. They had been sent to participate in the Copper`s Flight when in reality the Rider and dragon wanted a new place that offered new adventure. But the Rider had decided to take a detour to avoid the Flight. While the dragon had enjoyed the idea of chasing a female again, both Rider and dragon agreed that being a Weyrleader would be too much work. And they just wanted to have fun without something holding them down. Of course the only thing the Rider wanted to be held down by was from fun. Fun was top of the list.
L`can, but he much preferred to be called Lio and even his dragon called him that, was standing at the shores of the Weyr Lake while his Brown, Mikidith was was laying on the Sands and seemingly grooming himself like a feline would. Of course Mikidith would never get clean the way he groomed himself. He was just waiting for the right opportunity to jump into the lake. Lio knew what his dragon`s intentions were and chuckled. "All right, you big baby, I will jump in the water now," the man said, smirking. He removed his riding jacket, shirt, and boots before jumping into the water. It was cool and relaxing. Why didn`t their old Weyr have a nice lake like this?
Mikidith chuckled and watched his Mine. ~I will be in just a moment, Mine,~ the dragon said with a chuckle still.

Oh, here it goes again, I should have known, Should have known, Should have known again.
Hello. Another pair had arrived at the lake. The light colored yellow glided delicately across the glassy surface and came to land near the brown on the shore. They were new, weren't they? Yes, they had to be. Neither she or Hers even had a clue who they were, and their home got so many transfers. Kneeling, she allowed her half dressed rider to slip of her back and go wading into the water. Then she turned to look at the brown with a pleasant, curious look about her, body language alert but not aggressive.
I'm Annith and that is Mine; she introduced herself sweetly, indicating the eccentric young man up to his knees in what as Hers. Why was this brown still on the shore while the person who she assumed was His was in the water! The lake was so nice, especially now, in summer. Are you coming in? she asked, taking a step so her front feet were just covered in water and then looked back at him. It was a warm day, and there was nothing better than the feeling of the savoring the cool water on her hide.
"Hello;" P'nay called to the brownrider as he slowly stepped deeper and deeper into the water. He was sweaty and a bit disheveled, but he'd put on his classic grin at the sight of the male in the water. Browns rode boys interested in both man and woman often enough, didn't they? And you got a gay brownrider sometimes, right? Anyway, it wasn't like it really mattered; he was simply curious about it. Of course, there was that saying about how curiosity killed the feline . . . But satisfaction did bring it back, didn't it?
It could be ten, But then again, I can't remember, Half an hour since a quarter to four.

Chelo headed out across the weyr, she wasn't sure what she was going to do today. Looking about the weyr, she sighed, the weyr still seemed like a foriegn place to her. Closing her eyes, she turned in circle and headed of in whatever direction she stopped. She walked in that direction, spying the glimmer of the weyr lake ahead of her.
She spied a pair of dragons and their riders in the water, as she passed by. Chelo slowed her pace before finally stopping. She looked at the lake, then the sky. It was a rather nice day, though she didn't want to get wet. She picked a spot near the edge of the water, a few dragon-lengths away from the riders, merely wanting to enjoy the day for a while.

Mikidith looked up to see the Yellow gliding into the lake area with her Mine. She was pretty, and the flirty side of the dragon was wanting to compare her hide to the sun, but he would wait a bit. He would play coy before giving into the flirts. He chuckled, his eyes whirling in shades of green as he watched the female step into the water. Hello, Annith. It is a pleasure to meet you, the Brown replied, dipping his head in a bow. My name is Mikidith, and that man the is swimming is my Mine. I was merely waiting on my Mine to tell how cool the water was before I decided to enter. How are you doing on this fine day? he asked, trying to make a small conversation.
Lio had been swimming and only noticed the dragon as she flew over the water. He had been on his back, floating and just watching the sky. He had stood back and watched as the man jumped off the dragon. He smiled, more like grinned at the man. Of course he did not know what this man`s preference was, so he would wait before trying anything. Lio soon also noticed that there was a girl in the distance watching them. He smirked. "Hey, you, over there. Why don`t you join us? The water is nice," Lio shouted, glancing at P`nay and smiling. He then turned to the Yellow Rider. "Hello. My name is L`can, but I much prefer if people called me Lio. Much easier and simple like that, wouldn`t you agree?" he asked.

When you’re on a holiday, You can’t find the words to say, All the things that come to you, And I wanna feel it too.
It is a pleasure to meet you too, Mikidith. I am very well today. I convinced Mine to go swimming. She sounded very pleased at that, pleased with simply the fact she had wrangled him into coming down into the water, which was tempting just in its existence with the heat. If your rider has not told you, the water is very nice. You should come in; she suggested sweetly. Then she shuffled a bit deeper into the water, sending little waves rippling out from her. There was another person at the lake, besides her, Mikidith, and their riders. She sniffed at them. A candidate. Definitely a candidate. She didn't have a distinct, strong, musky odor about her that meant she had a dragon and the help never came out to play.
P'nay glanced back over his shoulder at the girl that the lovely brownrider called over to join them. He waved at her, smiling though he felt a tinged disappointed. She looked like she was a candidate; she had that new to the Weyr, new to dragons look about her. It would be awkward to try to jump the handsome black-haired rider with a candidate about . . . Of course, he could just, you know, behave entirely. Like that was going to happen. "Yes, yes, nice and simple. I'm P'nay. I'm sometimes called 'Nay' but I generally object to that because it's the noise that runners make. Anyway, nice ta' meet ya' Lio;" he replied with a light-hearted, cheerful little chuckle. He was up to his waist in water by that point.
On an island in the sun, We’ll be playing and having fun, And it makes me feel so fine, I can’t control my brain.

Chelo turned when the man yelled. She had not expected to have been noticed so soon, or at all for that matter. She smiled slightly, waving a little but not moving from her spot for the moment. Surely it couldn’t do any harm to join, them and she had been invited, she reasoned. Sighing at her dilemma, she got up, brushing off and any pieces of sand that had managed to stick to her in the short time she had been sitting. How did they manage to do that in so little time? She shook her head, leaving that problem for another time. Chelo headed along the edge of lake, careful not to step, or fall, into the water. She kept her distance from the edge when she neared the riders. She did not want to get wet. At all. She pushed her hair behind her shoulder, for more protection against splashing dragons…or riders. She smiled slightly at the riders, sitting down on the sand.

Mikidith glanced over at Chelo before rumbling deeply. He then stood up and looked back at the Yellow who was in the water. She was pretty, Mikidith had to admit to that. I think I will join you in the lake. Thank you for telling me that the water is cool, the Brown said, moving slowly into the water and trying not to splash in it. His eyes changed from greens to a mix of greens and blue as soon as the water was up to his stomach. You are right, Lady Annith. This water does feel cool. And it is very relaxing. I do not know why me and Mine did not come here sooner, he added, a compliment trying to mask his true thoughts. But the water was very nice. And it seemed that his Mine was already interested in Annith`s Mine. His Mine was trying to be careful while the girl was around.
Lio watched the girl as she got closer and then sat down, watching them. He chuckled. "You won`t have any fun while you are up there," the man shouted at her again before turning his attentions back on P`nay. The man was interesting and different from the other men from his old Weyr. He actually kind of hope that it was just him and P`nay alone. But, as Mikidith had already noticed, he was trying to be careful. Unless he could lure P`nay into meeting him somewhere else so they could get to know each other better. For now, they still needed to be truly introduced to one another. "Nay? I agree with you. P`nay has a much nicer ring to it, anyways. But it is a pleasure to meet you, indeed. How long have you lived here? I just arrived a few days ago and been trying to move in. More like Mikidith wanted a lot of oiling after the trip we had to make," the man said, grinning at the YellowRider.

Annie, you had your name in the bright lights. I thought I saw your photograph having such a laugh in a magazine, Did it all come tumbling?
You're welcome; the yellow replied sincerely to the brown. Now that he had joined her in the water, she strode forward, going out around her rider until she was half-floating with her feet barely touching the ground. It was cool, very nice, just as Mikidith described it. There was nothing better than some swimming in the lake. Except maybe sunbathing. You and Yours are new, aren't you? You must have been busy; she said as a way of attempting to be helpful in answering the rhetorical question about why the other dragon and his rider hadn't come down to the lake before. Any compliment, and any intention hidden behind that, went straight over the sweet-tempered, optimistic lithe dragon. She hardly even noticed the 'lady', and ignored it for the most part. It was nice, but Mikidith was simply being silly, and polite and respectful, as he should. Isn't Dalibor nice? She loved her home, though she loved almost anywhere. Mine got into trouble, as he always did, but he was happy. It had a very nice lake too.
"Yeah, come on in;" P'nay added to the brownrider's call to Chelo, beckoning in her. Being over dramatic, he mentally bemoaned that it was physically painful to do when he was fairly certain that Lio was interested in him. His attention remained largely fixed on the other man despite his shout to the girl on the shore. "Anni and me have been here for, uh, going on half a turn! Huh, didn't quite realize that it had been that long. Cool beans;" he replied, half-talking to himself at the end. But he grinned right on back at Lio, except when he glanced at Annith. She always let him hear everything, as a pleasant buzz in the back of his mind where her entire conscious always dwelt with his. Her current obliviousness to Mikidith was amusing to him. "She's so ridiculous sometimes. Always overlooks everything and misses more than that;" he commented, shaking his head. Then he reassured the yellow to just enjoy her soaking. She didn't need to be told to enjoy anything. She enjoyed enjoying things.
Cause Annie you're a star, that's just not going very far. And all the world will know your name, And you'll be famous as you are 'cause I'll sing for you.

Chelo sighed, really not wanting to get in, but if they insisted. Getting up, she stepped into the water, but didn't go in farther than knee height. She eyed the dragons, she wasn't afraid of them but they were so big! "I'm Chelo," she said, remembering that she hadn't introduced herself. She kicked her leg in the water, but only slightly to make a little wave, watching it dissapear.

Mikidith watched the female Yellow carefully as she seemed to be swimming around. He looked up for a second and noticed it was a clear day. It was a good day to come out, that was for sure. He gave a comforting sigh as he turned to Annith when she asked him the questions. His eyes were swirling in greens again when he thought about the answers. Yes. Me and Mine are both new here. He have been very busy trying to get documents in order and setting up our new weyr that we have not had time to have fun yet. Of course, Mine made very sure to oil me during those times we were busy. But we made a promise to go out and have fun as soon as we could. And today is our first free day and the first day to finally have fun. Dalibor is very beautiful, Lady Annith. Its beauty cannot be compared to our old Weyr. And the dragons here are very nice, he replied, wanting to add that some were also very beautiful, wanting to refer to Annith. But he would wait for her reply first.
Lio smiled at Chelo and nodded. "Nice to meet you Chelo," he replied. But when he turned back to P`nay, he flashed the man a grin he listened to him. "Half a Turn already? That must be interesting and fun. Mikidith and I have only been here for almost fourteen days now. Took a little while to move in and get things taken care of." He nodded in Mikdith`s direction then. "Mikidith use to not be the smartest around. Could barely compete with other Browns. But, by the time we graduated from Weyrlings, Mikidith was normal. He still may not be able to argue with a Bronze or another King, but he can sure compete and win against other Brown easily now," he said, winking at the man.

Of that I'm sure. She smiled at me on the subway. She was with another man. But I won't lose no sleep on that, 'Cause I've got a plan.
I'm sure your old Weyr was nice enough. Me and Mine are from Frontier and it was very nice there, but we wanted someplace new, so we came here, and it is very good here for that; Annith replied cheerfully and evenly to Mikidith, refusing to think there could be any fault with any other location even if Dalibor was amazing. All of Pern, all of the universe, was amazing, each in its own way, each with its own little faults. Not everyone here is very nice either, but almost all of them are nice. You should meet Reyith and Gyth. They're very nice; she continued, growing a bit excited at the end, eager to introduce her knew friend to some of her old friends at some point. She was more than willing to help Mikidith get properly, socially, settled in. They're different from you, Mikidith. You're very, very nice; she finished thoughtfully, looking carefully at the brown with soft, swirling eyes. Yes, he was very, very nice, not the same as anyone else.
"Nice to meet you, Chelo. A pretty name;" P'nay greeted the candidate and gave her a wink. He wasn't interested, not enough to consider it with her being what she was, but it was natural for him to flirt, to compliment, to make any pretty girl, or boy, blush if he could. Perhaps he'd even have a heart for it with the girl, who was pretty enough, but there was a handsome brownrider talking and winking at him, so he was more interested in doing some blushing of his own. "Annith isn't stupid. She can win any argument she chooses. She's just very special and simply enjoys life as it is;" he replied to Lio, voice utterly sincere and affectionate towards his beautiful, magnificent dragon. But his adoration quickly changed as he smirked, suspicious of some other ides behind Lio's words. "And what sort of things do you enjoy Mikidith, as a very fine, strong, handsome brown, winning?"
You're beautiful. You're beautiful. You're beautiful, it's true. I saw your face in a crowded place, And I don't know what to do, 'Cause I'll never be with you.
